  • May 2010 - Hoddesdon - Black Cigar UFO Video

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Originally forwarded from Richard Hall Release Date: 27/10/2010 Out of all the cases I investigate, the majority tend to remain unexplained or I feel that an advanced craft of unknown/extraterrestrial origin is the most likely explanation. However occasionally I receive a case which I am able to solve beyond reasonable doubt. This is one such case. It is a great example of how a mundane object can be misperceived as something out of the ordinary due to a prior lack of knowledge about it. The fact that the object was captured on video camera certainly aided in its identification. Sighting Details The incident took place on a day in May 2010 at 2.30pm in the afternoon. The witness Andy (name changed for privacy reasons) was out in the back garden of his house on Gladstone Road, Hoddesdon. He had been putting up some garden furniture and was having a well deserved break. It was a hot sunny day with no clouds in the sky and very little wind. Aerial map of Gladstone Road: 📷 An aircraft caught his eye and he glanced up at it. As he did so he noticed another object in the sky to the South. The object was shaped like a long thin cigar. It was gliding slowly across the sky and appeared to be about 90-120 feet in height. Andy decided to go and get his camcorder from the house so he could zoom in on the object. He returned to the garden, zoomed in on the object and began to watch it via the camera screen. Despite the fact that his camcorder is not very high quality, he was still able to get a clear view of the object. To Andy it appeared to be metallic silver in colour. It looked about 30 feet in length. Initially he thought it must be some kind of inflatable, but as he watched its movements seemed unusual and controlled. As well as moving along in a straight line, it also appeared to be rolling over in a clockwise direction. As it did so he suddenly saw what appeared to be multi-coloured lights running along it. These would flash up brightly for a moment before dying back down. The object then gradually slowed down, before starting to ascend at a sharp angle. After watching the object for a couple of minutes, Andy decided to go round to the houses next door to him to get his neighbours so they too could see it. He ran around to the front doors of the houses, but nobody was in which frustrated him. He ran back into the garden expecting the object to still be present, but it was no longer visible. Andy wished he had stayed put so he could have witnessed the object leaving the area. It was a clear sky so it seemed odd that it was now gone. In the days following the sighting Andy told numerous friends and family about the sighting and showed them the video footage. Nobody could explain what he had managed to capture, and some of the people he showed were impressed with the unusual movement and lighting displayed. Video Footage Below is the un-edited footage that Andy managed to capture of the object: Here is a zoomed still of the object from the video footage: 📷 Below is a zoomed still of the object with the multi-coloured lights visible: 📷 Sighting Analysis When I received the initial sighting details off Andy it was initially hard to say what the object was. I thought that it may be an inflatable, however this did not really explain the coloured lights or apparent large size of the object. However once Andy sent me the video footage to take a look at, it was immediately clear what the object in fact was. What Andy had witnessed and filmed was almost certainly a solar airship. These are long black tubes made out of thin plastic and filled with air. On a hot day, the air inside heats up causing it to lift into the air. Usually solar airships are tethered with a kite string, however it looks like the one Andy filmed was either intentionally un-tethered or it had broken free from its tether and was drifting across the sky in air currents. Photograph of a Solar Airship up close: 📷 The “coloured lights” which can be seen at various moments of the footage is in fact the sunlight being reflected off the smooth surface of the airship as it moves and rotates. It was probably this that caused Andy to interpret the object as being a metallic silver colour rather than black. The movement pattern of the object can just be put down to air currents it is caught up in. When Andy returned to the garden and found the object was no longer there, it had probably just drifted off out of sight. Due to the clarity of the video footage and the fact I have seen similar footage numerous times before, I am certain that the object is a solar airship, and therefore this case is closed. • 20/10/2006 - Bel-Air, Marbella, Spain - Spherical UFOs Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Originally forwarded by Richard Hall Release Date: 29/10/2010 This report covers an interesting sighting of numerous UFOs that were seen near to the town of Bel-Air in Marbella, Spain in October 2006 by many witnesses. These UFOs could also have been responsible to a number of animal mutilations which apparently occurred in the area. Sighting Details Back in 2006 Jason Harrison lived across in Bel-Air. He has since moved back to live in the UK. On the evening of 20th October between 7-8pm, he was at a coffee house named Bocadillos, on Av De Gomez Barrio, just off the A7. Jason had just sat down at of the outdoor tables with an end of work beer, waiting for his boss Santy and work mate Gavin to show up. He was facing towards Mount Estapona and surrounding hills, which lies to the North of the town. It was a clear and warm evening with good visibility, and was just starting to get dark. Aerial map of sighting location, indicating the position of Bocadillos: 📷 Photograph of Bocadillos coffee house: 📷 Directly opposite Bocadillos across the road is a large supermarket named Mercadona. There were quite a few people around, heading into and coming out of the store. All of a sudden Jason heard people standing outside the supermarket start to gasp. He looked across at them to see what was going on. They were staring and pointing towards the hills. Jason and several others at Bocadillos looked in the direction they were pointing. There hovering in the air above the hills in the distance were four spherical objects. Three of the spheres were white in colour, and appeared to be circling anti-clockwise around the fourth object, which was a whitish-green colour. All the objects looked the same size, but it was hard to tell exactly how big they were. However they were 6-8 miles away so must have been quite large to have been made out in the first place. Photograph of Mercadona supermarket from the sighting location: 📷 Photograph from the sighting location in the direction the UFOs were seen in: 📷 The outer three spheres were moving quite slowly around the fourth, in a continuous and obviously directed path. Jason was astounded by what he was seeing. He was certain that he was watching advanced craft and thought to himself “It’s about time I saw a UFO”! He and the other witnesses continued to watch the objects for about 25 seconds, during which the three outer objects had gone round the central one three times. Drawing of the UFOs based on witness description: 📷 Without warning, the three outer objects then increased in acceleration to an incredible speed and shot off to the North, leaving the fourth object on its own! The remaining object then started to slowly descend in altitude towards the hills at a continuous speed. Jason watched it for about 7-10 seconds until it had gone out of sight due to its low altitude. It looked as though it was going to land. After it had disappeared from view, Jason continued to sit at Bocadillos and think about what he had just seen. The twenty or so other people outside the supermarket gradually dispersed. He did not speak with them about the incident because his Spanish was not good, and they looked like they were locals. Santy and Gavin turned up and Jason told them about what he had seen, they did not seem too bothered. Jason remained in the area for the next hour, and kept watching to see if the objects would turn up again but they did not. At the time, Jason was living at the house of his girlfriend’s mother. Later in the evening he told his girlfriend and her mother about the sighting, but they too dismissed it. That night he did not sleep too well, and lay awake thinking about the UFOs. Over the following days, Jason kept an eye on the newspapers to see if the incident had been reported. He thought that due to the number of witnesses it was likely it would have been reported, however he never saw any articles on it at all. Animal Mutilations Two weeks later, his girlfriend’s mother’s friend Anna came to visit. She told Jason that there had been a story in the local newspaper from a farmer who owned fields in the hills over which the UFOs had been seen. Apparently six of his goats had gone missing without trace overnight. Anna lived up in the hills and knew the farmer personally. A month later she came to visit again, and told everyone that two of the goats had apparently been found a mile away from where they should have been, completely stripped of meat, with no blood stains on the ground. Sighting Analysis This is an impressive sighting, made all the more so by the number of witnesses. The UFOs were clearly solid objects, and appeared to be under intelligent control. They performed manoeuvres far in advance of conventional aircraft, and could not have been randomly drifting objects such as balloons. The speed at which the outer objects left the area could not have been performed by remote controlled models, and the fact that all of the objects did this at once again suggests intelligence. It is unlikely we will ever know if the remaining UFO actually landed in the hills North of Bel-Air. Could the disappearances/deaths of the farm animals in the following weeks have been related to this UFO activity? It is certainly a possibility worth considering, and adds further mystery to the incident. The lack of blood at the scene of the dead goats suggests that these may have been genuine animal mutilations rather than just normal deaths. Whether or not this incident was related, this case is very interesting indeed, and has a number of aspects which cannot be explained easily. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010

  • Wimborne Contactee Case - UFO Sightings, Orbs, Paranormal Activity

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 01/11/2010 For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used Introduction Christina lives in Wimborne, Dorset, with her husband Robert and two children Stuart and Jenny. For the last few years there have been a number of unusual incidents involving spherical UFOs, orbs and other unexplained activity. These events have been witnessed not only by Christina, but sometimes by other members of her family as well. They suggest that either her or her family may be experiencing indirect extraterrestrial contact. Glowing Orange UFO In 1970 when Christina was just 2 years old, her brother and father both saw a strange glowing UFO hovering over their house in Bournemouth. One November evening her brother was outside when he witnessed a glowing orange spherical object in the sky. It appeared to have unusual appendages hanging down underneath it, almost like the tentacles of a jellyfish. He called out his father to also see the object. At the time of the sighting Christina was sleeping upstairs in her room. Apparently the same object was spotted by other witnesses around Bournemouth and Poole, and it was even in the Bournemouth Echo newspaper. Christina's father and brother would often talk of this incident over the years. Initial Silver Spheres Sighting It was a Friday morning in August 2007. Christina had been out with her parents to the weekly market in Wimborne, where they too live. It was 10am and she had just left her parents house on Martindale Avenue. It was a sunny day with a mostly clear blue sky, but as she walked down the drive way she noticed an imposing large dark cloud travelling in an Eastward direction. Aerial map showing location of Martindale Avenue: 📷 Christina was just getting into her car when she looked up into the sky one final time. It was then that she noticed a silver coloured spherical object just behind the dark cloud. It was highly reflective and catching the sun’s rays. It appeared to be about a mile from her position and was at an angle of about 80 degrees in the sky. The object looked solid and Christina could not see any markings on it or means of propulsion. She estimated it was quite small in size, but due to the distance involved it must have been at least a few feet in diameter. Drawing of one of the spheres based on witness description: 📷 At first the object was wobbling about in the air. Then it proceeded to dive down below the cloud, and then climb back up above it. It was at this point that a second silver sphere, identical to the first, emerged from within the cloud. Christina continued to watch in amazement as the second sphere started dancing around the first in a circular motion. They clearly looked like they were under intelligent control, and Christina knew she was not looking at balloons randomly drifting in the air. She also felt they were highly unlikely to be radio controlled models. The objects seemed interested in the dark cloud for some reason, and remained quite close to it at all times. Christina continued to watch the objects, and after about a minute suddenly they both flew into the cloud and were lost from sight. She waited and watched a while longer but they did not reappear. She felt that she had definitely seen something out of the ordinary, either some bizarre weather monitoring devices or alien spacecraft. After the sighting Christina told her parents, her husband Robert and another close friend. They all seemed to believe her story. Her husband asked her about the incident in quite a lot of detail and suggested possible alternative explanations, but none of them seemed to fit what she had witnessed. Later she told other people too, but they just told her she must have imagined the spheres. When she rang up one of her close friends and told her about what happened, her friend informed her that she too had seen an unusual dark cloud over her house in Poole, quite possibly the same cloud. However she had not seen any spheres. Christina decided to check online and it was then that she found out that lots of other people had witnessed spherical silver-coloured UFOs all around the world. This is a fascinating sighting, and one I feel was probably genuine advanced craft of ET origin. The objects were clearly not conventional aircraft or helicopters due to both their appearance and the movement patterns observed. Because of the seemingly intelligent manoeuvres displayed I feel they are very unlikely to have been silver coloured balloons, weather balloons or inflatables. There is a slim possibility that they were radio controlled models, but if so their means of propulsion was very cleverly disguised. Also it is unlikely two would have been flown at the same time. Could the objects have been military drones of some kind? I guess this is a possibility, but it seems unlikely they would have been flying them directly over a populated town in full view. Silver spheres are one of the more commonly reported types of ET craft reported. Many believe them to be unmanned because of their usual small size, and they are probably have a scouting or observational purpose. Many contactees have reported seeing silver spheres, both in the sky like Christina’s sighting, and sometimes accompanying the actual beings. Were the spheres interested in the unusual dark cloud as they appeared to be? Perhaps they were monitoring it, or actually draining electrical energy from it. Another possibility is that there was a larger craft hidden from view inside the cloud, or the entire cloud was actually a craft in disguise. This would explain why the objects seemed to both emerge from and then return to the cloud. There is not much evidence to suggest this was the case, but it it is still worth considering. Another very good reason that I feel this was a genuine sighting is that it was not the last time she would see these silver spheres. The Spheres Return After her initial sighting, Christina did not see the spheres again for a couple of years. Astoundingly her next sighting occurred at the same location as before - Martindale Avenue, and around the same time of day! The date was Friday 21st August 2009. That morning when she awoke she felt different somehow. There was a strange heaviness in her feet, she felt reassured and relaxed. This feeling remained with her as she got on with her day. After getting ready she went round to visit her parents. She left their house about 10.30am. It was a cloudy day with intermittent sunshine, warm but with a noticeable breeze. She was still close to the driveway, when she suddenly felt the urge to look up into the sky. At the same time she felt herself wishing/asking to see the spheres again. Incredibly, as if in direct response, four silver spheres appeared in the sky to the North of her location right in front of her eyes! They were in a perfect square formation, and looked the same size as the two in 2007 had been. This time they were roughly half a mile from her position, and were about the height that a small plane would fly at. Almost straight away, Christina called out to her parents, hoping that they would hear her and also witness the spheres. Luckily as planned they did hear her shout, and came out onto the driveway. As they did, the spheres seemed to change colour and became almost the same colour as the clouds, making them much harder to see. However they would still intermittently appear silver. At first neither of her parents could see what she was staring at. Her father became quite frustrated that he could not see the UFOs. One of the spheres then broke away from the formation and approached a nearby dark-looking cloud. Just as the spheres in 2007 had done, it then started “dancing” around in circular spiralling movements. As it was now more visible, Christina’s mum was finally able to see it and excitedly said she could see a silver ball in the clouds. However her father could still not see any of the spheres, probably due to his poor eyesight. After about 45 seconds, the three stationary spheres suddenly began to fade away until they had completely disappeared. A few seconds later the fourth moving sphere also vanished without trace. As soon as the spheres had gone, the strange grounding feeling left Christina, proving to her that it had been related to what she had witnessed. Neither of her parents could give an explanation to what the spheres were. Her father was disappointed he had not seen them too. He spent numerous days after the incident looking up at the sky hoping they would return. Later Christina told Robert and brother about what had happened. Both of them believed her and tried to come up with rational explanations but could not. Her brother was especially fascinated by the sighting, and afterwards he too looked up into the sky for periods of time hoping to see the spheres. Again this is a very interesting sighting and numerous theories and assumptions can be made from it. Firstly, this second sighting seemed to confirm that these spheres were out of the ordinary and not just misidentification of balloons or other mundane objects. They also seemed to be related directly to Christina, and be there on her behalf. As both sightings took place in the same location, you may feel that it was this that was the link between the two. However this would ignore the fact that on the second occasion, Christina had a strange feeling for a number of hours before the incident, a feeling which left directly after the sighting finished. Also the spheres appeared in front of her eyes as she looked up and thought about them – it was almost as if they displayed themselves to her on purpose. When she called out her parents, it is intriguing that the spheres appeared to change colour and from then on appeared less silver and more like the colour of the clouds which were above them. Perhaps this was just down to lighting, and due to circumstances they were reflecting the colour of the clouds more than they had been at the start of the sighting. However I feel that they may have done this on purpose to disguise their presence and make it hard for Christina’s parents to see them. If the spheres really were there because of Christina and were observing what was taking place, this is not really farfetched, and could actually have been a possibility. Another fascinating link to the initial sighting is the fact that once again one of the spheres approached a dark cloud and began performing strange circling manoeuvres. I feel this cannot just be a random coincidence, and that whatever the spheres were doing in the 2007 sighting was again being done this time. It is a mystery why only one of the spheres did this rather than all four. Perhaps the feeling that Christina had when she woke up that morning was a subconscious knowing that she would soon get to see the spheres again. Or perhaps she was being observed in some way by them, and this was the cause behind what she experienced. I certainly feel that it is related to what took place. Coloured Orbs In the first week of September 2009, the family were putting on a party at their house for Christina's great uncle. They were all inside the house when suddenly Christina felt the urge to go out into the back garden and take photographs. She could not explain where this feeling came from. She grabbed the camera and headed outside. She aimed the camera into the air and took a photograph. As the flash went off she saw a strange sparkle of light, as if the flash had bounced off something the air. When she looked at the photograph, she was amazed to see two colourful orbs on it, one red coloured and on the left of the photo, the other green and on the right. Cropped views of the red and green orbs: 📷 📷 In the following days, Christina decided to do an experiment. Every night she would go outside and take photographs, trying to capture more orbs on film. Most of the time this was unsuccessful and nothing would show up. But on one occasion when she tried asking in her mind for them to appear, she managed to capture some other brightly coloured orbs including a golden one, and some unusual white orbs which appeared to have holes or dark areas in them. Cropped view of the golden coloured orb: 📷 Cropped view of the orange orb: 📷 Cropped views of the white orbs: 📷 📷 The orbs which Christina has photographed are interesting and indeed very colourful. Contactees often report seeing orbs like these, either visually or on photographs they have taken. There definitely appears to be some kind of link between orbs and contact. However there is always the possibility that one’s captured on camera are nothing more than small particles or water droplets drifting past the lens, or reflections caused by the camera flash. I believe that the dark areas seen on the white orbs have probably been caused by the camera aperture, and are not necessarily holes or dark areas within them. Regarding the first photograph, red and green are two of the three primary colours, one of the orbs was on the left of the photo, one on the right. Could this have been caused by unusual light reflection? On the other hand on the first occasion Christina did feel a strange urge to go outside and take the photo in the first place, and she did see a sparkle of light as it was taken which looked like it had glinted off something in the air. The Small Glowing Orb Later in September 2009, while searching the net for other sightings of spheres, Christina came across a man from America who claimed to be able to make them appear at will. She wondered if the spheres were somehow attracted to peoples energy when they thought about them intensely. Towards the end of the month, Christina thought she would try this out herself. She did not expect anything to happen and was just curious. It was 1pm and a clear, still and sunny afternoon. Christina stepped out into the back garden of her house. She stared up into the sky and started to visualise seeing the orbs. Almost immediately she thought she could see little flashes of silver against the blue sky, but no actual spheres appeared. She then noticed a buzzard flying overhead. While she was looking at it, a small glowing orb flew in front of her vision! It was about the size of a large marble and was about 30 feet high at roughly the same height as the roof of the house. It was glowing an intense white colour. Fascinated by it, Christina watched as it began to fly down the garden towards a silver birch tree. As it moved it appeared to wobble back and forth. It went up into the branches of the tree and then stopped moving, almost as if it was waiting for her to approach it. Christina gained her thoughts and wanted to capture a photograph of the orb so she would have some physical proof of its existence. She quickly ran into the lounge and grabbed her camera, which happened to be out on the table. She went back outside and could still see the orb hovering at the back of the tree. She ran towards it to take a photo. As she approached, it very quickly moved up over the next door neighbours oak tree. Christina could no longer see the orb clearly but took many photographs in the hope that it would be captured on film. When she checked the photographs she realised she had managed to capture it as it flew away from the oak tree and disappeared. She showed the photograph to her family and friends and told them all about what had happened. She felt quite privileged to have seen the orb, and certainly believed that it had appeared because of what she had been doing. Below is the photograph that shows the white orb: 📷 Here is a zoomed view of the orb: 📷 Even though the photograph that Christina took is not particularly impressive, it does back up her story, and I certainly believe she is being truthful about what happened. Due to the orbs appearance and what it was observed doing, most alternative explanations can be discounted. It is unlikely to have been something mundane such as a ball of feathers, light cloth such as lace or dried vegetation as its movements seemed to be much too controlled. It did appear to be glowing, but it is possible it was just white coloured and reflecting the sunlight. It could not have been ball lightning because it was a clear sunny day. If it was some kind of flying insect caught in the sun, I am sure that Christina would have still been able to see its shape, and this would have also been visible on the photograph. As she managed to capture the object on camera it was clearly present and not just a trick of the light. Many contactees, including others I have personally investigated, have reported seeing small glowing orbs, either moving around their house or outside in the sky. Perhaps they are small observational devices, or an ET energy manifestation of some kind. Dark Green Spheres For the next two weeks Christina tried in vain to make the small orb appear again. It was now Friday 16th October. Christina and Robert were on their way down to Plymouth on the A38. It was an emotional journey, as they were taking their pet puppy back to the breeder as it was misbehaving too badly. They were on the A38 dual carriageway, Robert driving, and Christina in the passenger seat. It was 5.10pm and they were nearing the end of their journey. They came over the brow of a hill and could see Plymouth in the distance. Suddenly Christina caught sight of two small dark objects flying side by side. They were moving in at a diagonal over some fields off to the right of the road, and about 200 feet high. Her husband did not see them initially. Christina did not tell him about them as she was not certain what they were at first, she thought they may turn out to be birds or balloons. As they got closer, Christina was amazed to see that they were two metallic dark green coloured spheres, each about the size of a football. Aerial map showing the approximate location of the sighting: 📷 Photograph of the sighting location showing the fields over which the spheres approached: 📷 The spheres continued flying on a straight level course and passed diagonally across the road in front of them, about 45 feet from the car. At this point Robert also noticed the objects and asked what they were. Mesmerised by the spheres, Christina watched as the right hand sphere which was nearest to them suddenly began to change shape before her eyes! It morphed into a rugby ball shape with dark areas on each side. Robert did not witness this transformation as he had to keep his eyes on the road. Christina could hear him excitedly telling her that they were UFOs. Drawing of how the sphere's first appeared (including notes): 📷 Drawing of the right hand sphere after it had changed shape: 📷 The spheres were now behind the car and heading away to the left of the road towards a small area of woodland. Christina leaned round in her seat to continue watching them. She could see that the second sphere had also now transformed into a rugby ball shape. As they moved away, suddenly the sphere which had initially changed shape appeared to split up into three small black spheres in a tight triangular formation! All the objects continued onward towards the woodland on the same straight course until they were out of sight. Drawing of the sphere after it had split into three: 📷 Robert asked her "Was that a UFO? Have I just seen a UFO?" Christina told him yes but she was so stunned by what had just occurred that she couldn't talk much at first. A few hours later at their hotel room in Boscastle they discussed the incident in detail. Robert described the objects as big green/grey metallic things. His description was a little different to Christina’s, but he had not been able to see them as clearly as her as he was busy driving. It is likely that this is the reason behind the differences. Christina told him all about how the spheres had changed shape and how one of them had separated into three smaller spheres. She felt really privileged to have witnessed them but thought to herself "Why me?" Robert wondered if the spheres appeared at times of emotional stress because of how they had felt at the time, however I do not feel this is true because on all her previous experiences Christina had felt fine or even relaxed. Drawing of what Robert remembers the objects looking like: 📷 This is a truly fascinating sighting, and one which I believe was genuine. Numerous aspects of the incident are very impressive, especially the shape-changing which was observed. They were certainly not conventional aircraft. Up until this point there was a slim chance that the objects were two metallic balloons/inflatables. They were flying on a very straight course and apparently were in formation with each other, but they could have been drifting in a strong air current. However balloons do not morph into different shapes or separate into three. The fact that there were multiple witnesses means that the objects were clearly present in the sky. The question that remains is, were the spheres there because of Christina or not? Because of her previous experiences, this does remain a possibility. However the objects in this case appeared to have their own agenda. They did not follow the car at all and merely passed over the road and continued on their way. It is very possible that other drivers saw them too, as well as other witnesses elsewhere. Could it have been coincidence that Christina happened to be a witness to these particular spheres? Noises and Lights It was late October 2009, roughly two weeks after the dark green spheres incident. Christina, Robert and their daughter Jenny went round to see Christina's brother Mark for dinner and a catch up. It was evening time, the TV was on and the lights were switched off. Suddenly Christina heard a strange pulsating buzzing sound. She immediately thought that someone was trying to phone her mobile, and that this had caused interference with the sound of the TV. However she checked and found that this was not the case. The noise only lasted for 6 seconds before stopping. It was three short buzzes repeated three times. About five minutes later, she again heard the same sound and once more it went on for 6 seconds. This time she asked her brother what it was. Mark looked puzzled and said he couldn't hear anything; however Jenny said she too had heard the noise. Christina wondered if it had been at a frequency her brother could not hear. She did not hear the noise again for the rest of the night. Two weeks later, Christina had just gone up to bed. Robert remained downstairs watching TV. It was 11.20pm. She turned off the mobile phone, switched the light off and got into bed. All of a sudden she heard the noise again. It sounded like it was happening right near to her ear. It had exactly the same pulsating rhythm as before, however this time was much louder. It again lasted for 6 seconds before stopping. The noise frightened Christina so much that she jumped up out of bed and ran downstairs to Robert. She asked him if he had heard the noise but he had not. Christina was very un-nerved as she knew it was the same noise she had heard at her brothers. She felt like something was in the house and was going to get her. She asked Robert to come back up to bed with her. They both got back into bed and turned off the light. Almost immediately they both started to see hundreds of tiny silver and blue coloured sparkling lights flashing close to the curtains of the bedroom window. There was nothing electrical on that side of the room which could have accounted for them. The window looks out over a wooded area and field, and both Christina and Robert were sure that these lights were not being caused by light coming in through the curtains from outside. They were in mid air between the window and the base of the bed. They decided to switch the light on, and as soon as they did the flashes of light stopped! They turned the light off again and although troubled by what had taken place, they were able to settle down to sleep. At 2.42am once again the sound returned. This time they both heard it and it woke them up. To Christina it now sounded like it was outside of the bedroom out on the landing, although Robert felt that it was still in the room. Interestingly, Robert then told Christina that he had heard the noise before numerous times - sometimes when dropping off to sleep, sometimes on the radio or coming from the TV. At 5am Robert was again woken by the noise. However this time Christina did not wake up and he chose to leave her asleep. He listened intently to the sound. This time it continued for about 10 minutes without stopping! It was still in rhythms of three but continued after occurring three times rather than ceasing. There was nothing else out of the ordinary observed. After the noise stopped he settled down to sleep again. In the morning he informed Christina about what had happened. Two nights later, another unusual incident took place. Christina awoke from her sleep in the early hours of the morning. Looking over at the window, she saw a yellow pulsing light shining into the bedroom from behind the top left of the curtain. Like the sound, it followed a rhythmic pattern - it went from bright to brighter to very bright, and then back to bright again. For some reason Christina felt terrified by the light and dared not move. She felt that if she looked outside she would see a craft. She closed her eyes and started to pray. When she opened her eyes again the light had vanished. She immediately woke Robert up and told him about what she had seen. He got out of bed and checked outside the window but could not see anything. Christina was anxious and confused about what she had seen. Eventually she managed to drop off to sleep. Soon after this incident, Christina remembers having a strange dream. In this dream she saw a dark veil, behind which was a short humanoid figure. She could just make out its silhouette. She heard a voice say to her that they could not connect to her because she was too protected. She was not told the reason behind this statement, and has wondered about it ever since. Christina feels that ET contact was the reason behind the strange sounds and various lights that had been witnessed. For a long time afterwards she tried to recreate the noise in various ways - holding her mobile close to speakers and electrical equipment, changing the radio reception, moving the TV aerial - but she was not successful. She wanted to eliminate all other options and prove to herself that the incidents had been down to contact. She wonders if more may have happened that evening if she had not been frightened. Robert wondered if it could have been caused by some sort of electrical interference from aircraft or power lines, but he is still inclined to believe that it was ET contact. Both the pulsing buzzing sounds, and the strange lights seen in the bedroom are commonly reported with contact experiences, and usually occur just prior to or following a visitation by ET beings or an abduction experience, though they can appear at other times too. I believe that this was certainly the reason behind these incidents. The noises were obviously actually taking place and not just due to Christina's hearing, as they were also heard by her husband and daughter. On the later occasion they were loud enough to actually wake up the couple. As they were heard at both at Mark's and at their own house it is unlikely that they were caused by an electrical fault or equipment malfunctioning. The source of the sound also seemed to change position, if it was a fault it would almost certainly have been heard in the same location each time. It is possible that the noise was caused by some kind of ET scanning procedure, and they had no intention of actually taking anyone. If this is the case, then the fact that Robert has heard the noise many times before and after this incident suggests that he too is experiencing a form of contact, not just Christina. The lights which appeared are fascinating. They certainly appeared to be inside the bedroom and not just light reflections off another source. There was nothing outside the window which could have accounted for them, and besides this the curtains were closed to begin with. If the lights were coming from another source, they would have probably still been visible when the room light was put on. If they were drowned out by this light, they would have certainly returned when the light was switched off again. Could they have been caused by some sort of energy that was forming in the room? They did not appear to be linked directly with the sound as later in the night when the sound was heard again numerous times, the lights did not return. The yellow light seen two nights later by Christina could well have been caused by a visitation from a craft. Again there was no other permanent source of light outside which could have possibly been responsible. If the light was caused by a helicopter or low flying aircraft then surely she would have been able to hear it, especially in the middle of the night. Also the light would not have been pulsing rhythmically in brightness, it would have remained constant. The dream which Christina had soon afterwards does tend to suggest that ET contact had been taking place. There is the chance that it was nothing more than a dream, brought on by Christina's various experiences. But there is also the chance that she was genuinely being contacted and informed of the reason why she had not had any direct visual contact with the ETs. Could the small humanoid she saw in the dream have been a Grey? More Unusual Sounds On Sunday 10th October 2010, a year after hearing the buzzing noises, Christina heard another strange noise. It began in her left ear and sounded almost like the sound an old modem used to make when connecting to the internet. The sound lasted about a minute getting steadily louder and louder, and then suddenly it stopped. This time the noise did not disturb her, and she did not become anxious, she actually wanted it to continue. Unlike the previous sounds it sounded like it was actually inside her ear. The noise was unusual, however as it sounded like it came from inside Christina's ear and it was only heard by her, there is the possibility on this occasion that it was caused by tinnitus or another temporary hearing condition. Then again, considering her previous experiences maybe it was a sign that contact was about to resume. Because over the next two days further UFO sightings occurred! Star Light On the evening of 11th October 2010, Christina was in her bedroom. It was 10.20pm when she looked out of the window to the North East while closing the curtains. It was a very clear sky and the stars were fully visible. One caught her eye in particular. It didn't look like the other stars in the sky - it was glowing intensely and appeared to be shifting colours between bright red, green and white continuously. Christina immediately felt that it was not a star but something else entirely. She called Robert and her daughter, and the three of them took turns in looking at the object through binoculars. Through the binoculars Christina describes it as looking like a disco light. Christina then phoned her father and told him about the object. He and his next door neighbour both went outside and could see the object too. It appeared to be at very high altitude. Robert and Christina's father watched the object for half an hour. Christina continued to watch it until midnight. It seemed to move across the sky with the other stars. Occasionally aircraft would fly below it. It is probable that this was nothing more than a star under strange atmospheric conditions, which caused it to appear to be brightly changing colours. The fact that it remained stationary and appeared to maintain its position with the rest of the stars suggests this. Christina's fathers neighbour thought it may be the international space station. This is certainly another possibility, especially as the bright "star" had not been seen before and has not been seen since, surely it would be there every night in the same position? Orange Orbs The following evening after seeing the bright star-like light, Christina and Jenny were out in the front garden watching bats fly around the house. It was 7pm and the sun was just setting. It was a beautiful evening with clear sky and barely any wind. Suddenly both the witnesses saw two bright orange orbs of light appear over the rooftops to the North. They were facing West at the time so the orbs came from the right of their vision. The orbs were travelling side by side in close proximity. They were very low down, only a couple of feet above the roves of the houses. Jenny said she could see them flickering, but to Christina they looked constantly bright. It was hard to judge their size accurately. Christina thought they were about the size of a small car, Jenny believed they were smaller, about 1.5 metres in diameter. The orbs were heading on a straight flight path and appeared to be under control. Christina estimates they were moving about 65-70 mph. After watching the orbs for several seconds, the orange glow inside each of them went out at exactly the same moment. Christina and Jenny could still see the objects as two dark objects against the sky. These objects appeared to continue on the same course towards the South until they had gone out of sight. I feel that in this case, the orbs seen were more than likely Chinese lanterns. Due to the brightness of the glow coming from them, it is often hard to see the exact shape; they just appear as fiery orange orbs of light. The fact that Jenny saw the objects flickering again points towards this explanation. Lanterns can often get caught in air currents, at which point they are seen to travel on a straight path across the sky, just as the orbs in this incident did. They are often launched in multiples from celebrations and can easily appear to be following one another or forming patterns. When the glow from the orbs suddenly "switched off", this was almost certainly the flame inside them burning out. Usually at this point a lantern would then fall back down to the ground, but as there is heated air inside it may take a while for this to occur and for a time it could continue to drift across the sky. If the objects here were lanterns, it is unusual that they burned out at exactly the same moment, however as they were probably launched at the same time this is certainly possible. So despite the fact Christina has had many genuine experiences with spherical UFOs in the past, I feel that in this case lanterns were to blame. Conclusion As you can see Christina and her family have had some fascinating UFO sightings over recent years. Despite the fact that she has not experienced direct contact from the ETs, I believe that she and possibly her husband could still be classed as contactees. There appears to have been clear interaction, and I believe that the spheres she has seen, especially in her earlier experiences, were there for a specific reason and not just randomly being witnessed. The strange buzzing sounds and coloured lights seen in their bedroom I feel were also related to contact. I feel that the incidents that have happened since then may well have other mundane explanations, so it is possible that this contact has ceased, at least for the moment. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010

  • July 2010 - Camberwell, London - Disc UFO Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Originally forwarded from Richard Hall Release Date: 01/11/2010 Sighting Details In July 2010 Simon (name changed for privacy reasons) was at Kings College Hospital in Camberwell, London to have a frame removed from his leg. His bed was on the 3rd floor of the Cheyne Wing in one of the children's wards. While he was recovering from the operation, his mother came to visit. It was the afternoon between 1.00-2.30pm and they were watching TV together. Outside it was a relatively clear sunny day, with patchy cloud cover. Aerial map of Kings College Hospital, showing the location of the Cheyne Wing: 📷 Photograph of the entrance to Kings College Hospital 📷 Suddenly an object in the sky visible through the window caught Simon's attention. He looked out and could see what looked like a black coloured disc-shaped object hovering still in the air. It had smoothed curved edges and he could see no markings on it at all. It looked quite far away from their location and was higher than the building he was in. Simon immediately felt it was an alien craft, as he regularly watches programmes on UFOs. Drawing of the UFO based on witness description: 📷 Almost immediately Simon told his mother about the object, who was sitting alongside the bed She looked out and also saw it, but for some reason she felt it was silver in colour not black. After 10 seconds suddenly the disc completely vanished without trace. Simon feels sure it did not get obscured from view behind a cloud as it was a relatively clear day. They continued to watch out of the window to see if the object would return, but it did not. Simon discussed the sighting with him mum, she was surprised but not bothered by what she had seen. Later Simon told a few other family members and one of the nurses at the hospital. Sighting Analysis This is an intriguing sighting, and certain aspects of it are quite hard to explain. The object could not have been a plane as it was hovering completely still for 10 seconds. Due to its appearance it is unlikely to have been a helicopter. It could possibly have been an inflatable of some kind, as it was hard to judge its exact size and distance. However this does not explain how it was able to suddenly vanish. Surely if it was a balloon it would have remained visible in the sky? The fact that Simon saw the object as black in colour, but his mother thought it was silver is regardless and can be put down to interpretation. This difference in opinion was probably due to light reflecting off the object or shadows cast by it, so which of these colours is correct cannot really be determined. The fact that the object suddenly vanished without trace points towards it being a genuine sighting of an advanced craft rather than something mundane. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010

  • 18/07/2010 - Dudley - Orange Orbs Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 03/11/2010 For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used Sighting Details Late evening on the 18th July 2010, a couple from Dudley, Paul and Rachel had a sighting of an unusual looking object and managed to capture it on video. It was about 10pm and they had just gone up to bed. It was a relatively clear night with patchy cloud and a light breeze. Stars could be made out through the gaps between the clouds. The view from their bedroom window looks out to the East and stretches for miles. Paul went over to close the curtains. It was at this point that he noticed a glowing orange light in the sky. It looked like it was no more than 150 feet in the air. It was travelling on a straight course to the North. Luckily the video camera was on the window ledge as he had been using it earlier in the evening. He immediately picked it up and began filming the object. He called over Rachel and they both continued to watch the object. After it had moved about a quarter of a mile, the orange glow from the object suddenly ceased. They could still see the object, which now looked grey in colour and was disc-shaped. It began to slowly descend, drifting back and forth much like a feather would. It continued to do so until it had reached the ground and vanished from sight. The couple continued to watch to see if it would reappear. After a couple of minutes they then saw another orange light in the distance. This one looked like it was over Wednesbury. They watched it for about a minute, after which it faded and disappeared. Sighting Analysis I have not yet received the video footage of this object; I hope to be able to watch it soon. However from the description of what took place I feel it is quite probable that this UFO was in fact a Chinese lantern. Lanterns appear as orange orbs of light at a distance after dark, and tend to drift on a straight course, their speed governed by air currents they get caught up in. When the light suddenly went out, it is likely this was the flame inside the lantern burning out. Rachel says she and her husband believe that the object was a flying saucer because of the shape of it. But lanterns do come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Also the way that the object seemed to drift back and forth as it descended to the ground fits in with it being a light weight object that was no longer being kept afloat. The second orange light that was seen a couple of minutes later was more than likely a second lantern being launched, as they are often launched in multiples from celebrations. It is possible that if I get to see the footage I may well change my views, but from what I have been told I feel that Chinese lanterns is the most probable explanation for what took place. If I receive the video footage then with permission I will add it to this report. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010

  • July 1997 - Cardiff - Golden Disc UFO Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Originally forwarded from Richard Hall Release Date: 04/11/2010 Sighting Details This incident took place in Cardiff at 7.30pm on a Sunday evening in July 1997. It was a clear evening with a light breeze. The witness, named Roger, had just left work and was walking to his car. He noticed a bright object in the sky off to his left. He looked to the North, and saw at first what appeared to be a circular balloon in the distance. Roger estimates it was roughly 3 miles away, just North of a farm service road which adjoins Graig Road. Aerial map showing location of witness and estimated location of UFO: 📷 Photograph of location where UFO is believed to have been, taken from Graig Road: 📷 However it became apparent to Roger that the object was quite large, he estimates it was about 100 feet in diameter. The object was a bright golden colour, and was reflecting the evening sunlight. It appeared to be maintaining its position in the sky, but was rotating slowly in a clockwise direction. As it did, Roger realised that it was a similar shape to a £1 coin, like a large flat disc positioned vertically in the air. Drawing of the UFO based on witness description: 📷 The UFO continued to turn clockwise until it was almost edge on to him. This took at most a minute, during which he continued to walk across his work site to see if there was anything else in the sky. At this moment it completely vanished without trace. It did not appear to have flown away, it was just gone. Roger had previously been in the RAF, so was certain that the object was not a normal aircraft. He believed it to be a genuine disc-shaped craft. After the sighting he told a number of people, but as he had no evidence they dismissed it. Sighting Analysis This is certainly an unusual sighting, and the object was not a commonly reported shape or colour. It appeared to be quite large in size, so it seems unlikely it was an inflatable object. It looked quite different to any known aircraft or helicopter, so is very unlikely to have been this. One of the most mysterious aspects of the sighting is how the object suddenly vanished. It was a clear sky so it is unlikely that it was hidden from view behind a cloud. There is a slim possibility that as it turned it reflected the light in such a way that it was no longer visible in the sky, but this seems unlikely as it would have continued to turn and become visible again after a short moment, which did not happen. It is probable we will never truly find out what the object was and it will remain unidentified. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010

  • Summer 2005 & August 2010 - Norwich - Silver Sphere & Orange Orb Sightings

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Originally forwarded from Richard Hall Last Updated: 04/11/2010 For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used Introduction “Clicks” from Norwich has had several interesting sightings of UFOs in the skies over Norwich. His initial sighting took place in the summer of 2005, and then a few years later in the summer of 2008 he had two separate sightings of similar objects. Summer 2005 - Silver Sphere Sighting It was 3-4pm on a clear sunny and still afternoon in the summer of 2005. Clicks was out in his car with his girlfriend Michelle. They were at the junction between Prince Of Wales Road and Riverside Road, opposite Norwich Train Station, and were stopped at the lights. Suddenly Clicks noticed an object in the sky above the station clock. It looked like a matt silver coloured sphere. It looked quite small, about 2-3 feet in diameter. It was moving slowly in parallel to Prince Of Wales Road and was about 80 feet in the air, twice the height of the clock tower. Clicks estimates it was moving between 20-30 mph. It was heading on a very level and straight course and certainly looked like it was being controlled. Aerial map indicating the position of the witnesses (A), initial position of the UFO (B) and it’s route: 📷 Photograph of Norwich Train Station with UFO drawn on top in location it was initially seen: 📷 Clicks pointed it out to his girlfriend, and mentioned that if he still had the "black widow" catapult that he used to have when he was younger he would have been able to hit it. They watched the sphere for about 10 seconds after which it was lost from sight behind The Nelson hotel to their right. Clicks looked around to see if anyone else had seen it but everyone else was going about their usual business, it looked like it was only him and Michelle who had seen it. Photograph of The Nelson hotel from the sighting location: 📷 Clicks has a keen interest in UFOs and felt the object they had seen was some kind of probe due to its small size, and was probably extraterrestrial. He says it was definitely not a balloon because it was close enough to see clearly, and if it was a balloon there would have been a knot or string. Also its movement was very direct, despite the fact it was a still day. Silver spheres are one of the most commonly reported types of UFO and are seen world-wide. Even though there remains the possibility that the object was a balloon or an unusual remote controlled model, due to the reasons Clicks gave I too feel that it was probably something else entirely. August 2008 - Orange Orb Sightings It was a Saturday evening in August 2008. Clicks was round Michelle's house on Lincoln Street for a BBQ. Michelle, her sisters Kelly and Lisa, her father Darren and a friend Paula. They were all sitting in the back garden of the house, which faces to the South West. It was a warm summer's evening with no wind. Aerial map of Lincoln Street: 📷 About 7pm a hot air balloon came into view in the South West and landed about half a mile to the South. While Clicks was watching it, Kelly asked him what he was looking at. He said to her "Just a hot air balloon, but I've a feeling we're going to see a UFO tonight". He had no idea why he said this, it just came out. About 9.45pm everyone was still outside and talking. By this time the sun had gone down, and the moon and stars were visible. Suddenly there was deep rumble sound, similar to the noise a large truck makes when driving past. Nobody paid much attention to it. A moment later, Clicks noticed a bright orange-red ball of light flying in a South East direction from the North West. It was completely silent and was seemingly moving at a very fast pace. It appeared to be travelling at least several hundred mph, and was about 1000 feet up. Clicks pointed at it and everyone stood up to watch. They all stared at the object for about 15 seconds until it had vanished into the distance. Once it had gone everyone sat back down. To his amazement, two of the girls then started talking about normal everyday things like nothing had happened. Clicks was mystified by this reaction and asked them "Hey stop, what do you think just happened? Don't you realise there could well have been intelligent life from another planet in that thing we just saw? Is that not incredible?" But there was not much further discussion about what had been seen. A moment later, Michelle mentioned the rumble that had been heard and wondered whether it was connected to the object. Two or three weeks after the BBQ, Clicks was at his home on Bracondale. He was out in the back garden having a smoke at 11.45pm. The stars were out so he was staring up at the sky looking out for shooting stars and satellites. Suddenly he noticed what looked like the same or a similar object to what had been seen at the BBQ - a glowing orange orb of light. It flew over the roof of the house he was facing and was again travelling in a South East direction. It was about the same height that the object at the BBQ had been, and again appeared to be travelling very fast. He only saw it for about 5 seconds until it had flown out of sight. Aerial map of Bracondale: 📷 These sightings could be put down to Chinese lanterns. However Clicks says that he knows what these look like after seeing them on numerous occasions before, and these objects looked quite different. He also says they were moving much too fast to be lanterns. If the objects seen truly were going at over 300 mph then this would be true. However it is sometimes hard to judge the true speed of objects in the sky especially after dark. Even if it felt still at ground level, this does not mean there were not air currents higher up. The appearance of the objects is consistent with how lanterns look at a distance, and they are often seen to fly across the sky on a straight course. The lighting of the UFOs is not consistent with any known aircraft or helicopter, and on both occasions they appeared to be silent. It is very unlikely they were earth lights, these do not appear over built up areas. I cannot say for definite, but lanterns are the most likely explanation. If the object seen at the BBQ really was a glowing craft of some kind and not a lantern, then the rumble heard may have been connected to it, however the noise was heard before the object was even seen, and during the sighting it was silent. It is interesting that Clicks mentioned about seeing a UFO and then later that evening there was a sighting, however this could just be coincidence and is not necessarily linked to what happened. Conclusion Clicks has had some interesting sightings, although I do feel that two of them may be explained by Chinese lanterns. However the silver sphere sighting he and Michelle had in 2005 was much more likely to have been something out of the ordinary. I am sure he will continue to watch the skies, and will keep me informed of any further sightings he has. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010

  • 30/10/2010 - Gateshead - Orange Orb Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Originally forwarded from Richard Hall Release Date: 10/11/2010 Sighting Details Late evening on 30th October 2010, Winston (name changed for privacy reasons) was out in the back garden of his house on Douglas Gardens, Dunston, Gateshead. It was 11.40pm and a clear evening with only patchy cloud, between which the stars could be seen. Aerial map of Douglas Gardens: 📷 He glanced up into the sky and noticed a glowing orange orb of light travelling to the North. The object looked about the size of a passenger jet, and appeared to be about 1500 feet high. Winston estimates it was travelling at about 200 knots. He continued to excitedly watch the object for about 20 seconds until it had gone out of view. He felt certain that it was something out of the ordinary and definitely not a commercial aircraft of any kind. Sighting Analysis Despite the witness believing that the object was very large in size and at a great height, I feel that the object was probably a Chinese lantern at a much closer distance than how it appeared. The description of the object and its movement pattern fit in with this being the case. It is sometimes very hard to tell the actual distance and size of objects in the sky after dark as there is no point of reference. So the object may well have been much closer and smaller than it appeared to be. If this is taken into consideration, there is nothing to suggest the object was not a lantern caught in an air current. Lanterns are of course widely available these days, and are especially popular around Halloween and Bonfire Night, so I feel this is the most likely explanation. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010

  • 31/10/2010 - Colchester - Orange Orbs Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Originally forwarded from Richard Hall Release Date: 11/11/2010 Sighting Details It was 9.06pm on 31st October 2010. Alan (real name not disclosed) was driving home from Colchester towards the village of Rowhedge, roughly 4 miles away. There was partial cloud cover, with areas of clear sky between. He was on Old Heath Road when he suddenly became aware of two orange orbs of light in the sky to the South East of his location. They were too far away to tell their exact size and shape. Initially Alan felt that they were a number of miles away over Tillingham, or perhaps even off the coast. Aerial map showing the approximate position on Old Heath Road where the sighting took place: 📷 Photograph of the sighting location: 📷 At first Alan assumed the lights were two planes or helicopters. But as he continued to watch he saw that their movement speed and distance from one another was inconsistent. Sometimes they appeared close to each other, other times further apart. He pulled over the car at the side of the road to have a better look at the objects. After watching them for up to a minute, they suddenly disappeared from sight. Alan feels this may have been due to cloud cover, as by the time he had driven the remainder of the journey it had started to lightly rain and there was no longer any clear sky. Sighting Analysis I feel that Chinese lanterns were almost certainly the explanation for Alan’s sighting. Everything he has described is consistent with lanterns including the appearance of the objects, inconsistent flight speed and direction, and sudden disappearance without trace. At no point did the objects perform any manoeuvres which would suggest they were under intelligent control. Perhaps when the objects vanished it was the flame inside them burning out, or perhaps as Alan suggested they disappeared into cloud. Many lanterns were launched across the UK on Halloween night (I saw several pass over my own house), and it is very likely that this is what was witnessed. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010

  • 04/11/2010 - Wednesbury - Orange Orb Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Report Author: Dave Hodrien Originally forwarded by Richard Hall Release Date: 18/11/2010 Sighting Details At 7.30pm on the evening of 4th November, Andrew and his wife Jenny (names changed for privacy reasons) were near to their house on Paul Street, Wednesbury. It was a clear evening, and the sun had almost fully set. Andrew suddenly noticed an orange light in the sky off to the right of Moor Street. He pointed it out to Jenny and they had a good look at the object. It looked like the shape of a spinning top but with sparkles around the edge, and was glowing a bright orange. The object did not appear to be very large and appeared to be hovering stationary in the sky. It was completely silent. Jenny asked “Have you ever seen that before?” to which Andrew replied “No”. Aerial map of Paul Street: 📷 The witnesses stared at the object for a short while, then suddenly it started to ascend vertically and blinked out. A few moments later it came back into view to the left of the road between the clouds. At this point Andrew got out his mobile phone and took several photographs of the object. Unfortunately as it was after dark these did not really come out and all that could be seen on them was a slight orange glow. They continued to watch and soon afterwards the object was lost from sight and did not reappear. Sighting Analysis It is probable that the objects that Andrew and Jenny saw were in fact two Chinese lanterns. These are very popular around Halloween and Bonfire Night, and many were launched all around the UK. The colour of the objects is in line with them being lanterns. The appearance that Andrew describes sounds a little odd, but I feel that the sparkles he is talking about around the edges of the object were probably caused by the flame inside flickering. Lanterns usually tend to ascend slowly because of the hot air inside them, however as it was a still night they could well have appeared to be stationary, especially as they were not observed for a very long time. When the object suddenly vanished this could well have been the flame inside it burning out. Andrew was astounded by the fact that the object vanished to the right of the road and then a moment later reappeared at the left. However I feel it was probably two separate lanterns that had both been launched in the local area. The first one burnt out, and then soon afterwards the second one came into view. This is only a theory and it is not definite that the objects were lanterns, but this is the most likely explanation. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010

  • Cascade Springs Contact Case - Winged Beings, UFO Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Originally forwarded by Richard Hall Release Date: 18/11/2010 For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used Introduction The following case you are about to read about defies rational explanation. It is certainly a bizarre set of circumstances. The case involves both a UFO and unidentified entities, and is in places quite disturbing. Incident Details The incident began in the forest up American Fork Canyon just North of Cascade Springs late evening on 28th October 2010. US army soldier Ben and his friends Timothy and Chris were at a campsite 45 minutes along a dirt track in the mountains overlooking Heaber City. They had a bonfire going at the camp, which lit up the surrounding trees in a fiery glow. Aerial map of the area where the incident took place, West of Heber: 📷 At about 11pm, an orb of white light appeared through the trees. The men estimated it was about 50-60 metres to the East of the campsite. The light split into two and began to move back and forth. It changed colour to red, then to green, then back to white. It then vanished from sight. The men were discussing what the orb of light could be when it suddenly returned and repeated the same sequence. It continued to do this numerous times over the next few hours. At no point did the men decide to walk through the forest and find out what was causing the light, but it was a bit un-nerving. After a while, the men started to hear crackling noises coming from the trees near to the camp. This sound would come and go and was very distinct. Ben kept on telling himself that it was the sound of the fire bouncing off the trees, but he did not really believe this deep down. In the early hours of the morning, at least 3am, the orb of light had just appeared and vanished. Soon after it had gone, the men suddenly heard a deep growling sound and movement near to the camp. They thought there was a big animal of some kind nearby, so decided it was a good time to leave. They all got back in the car and started driving back along the dirt road to the South. After about three miles, Timothy got out a minute to use the bathroom. He headed over to the side of the track, while Ben and Chris remained in the car. Suddenly he noticed two strange looking figures running towards the car out of the darkness from the direction of the campsite. They had something strange up around the shoulders which almost looked like wings. They were moving very quickly in the direction of the car. As it was dark they could not see their features clearly. Timothy ran back to the car and they sped away down the track. Looking behind them they could see that the two figures were giving chase, and somehow were managing to keep up with the car! Ben was very scared and felt that these figures were going to catch up with the car and something bad was going to happen. He could see that Timothy and Chris were also very un-nerved by the situation. After about 5 minutes, the car reached the main road at the end of the dirt track. As they turned onto the road, something large flew over the top of the car. The soldiers believe that one of the creatures had taken off and flown above them off into the night. The men continued their drive home and discussed what had just happened. Incident Analysis This is a very unusual series of events. Considering the remoteness of their location, it is very easy to see why the men reacted the way they did and why they were so un-nerved. They must have felt quite vulnerable out in the forest after dark with no-one else around. The colour changing light that the men saw through the trees is very interesting. As the location was so remote it is very unlikely that there would have been any vehicles out there which could have accounted for it, they were nowhere near any settlements. It could not have been a landed helicopter as it kept on vanishing and reappearing for numerous hours. Also they would have certainly heard the rotor blades. Neither of these explanations could explain how the light appeared to split into two. The repeating pattern that the light/lights performed was very unusual, and it is hard to think of a reason why anything, ET or otherwise, would do such a thing, unless it was trying to communicate directly with the men. The crackling noises heard in the trees were unusual and it is not known whether or not they were related to the light or what happened later. Perhaps it really was caused by echoes from the bonfire, however if this were the case you would expect the noises to be continuous and not come and go. Could the growl and movement heard have been from the beings that then gave chase? Or was it merely a bear or other animal getting close to the camp? We will probably never know the answer to this question. The beings themselves certainly sound unusual. Some may immediately dismiss them to be people pulling some kind of practical joke on the men. We must always consider that the entire incident – the unexplained light, the sounds in the forest and the beings were part of an elaborate joke designed to frighten the witnesses. But if the beings were human, then how were they able to keep up with the car as it drove away from the area at quite a speed? And what was it that flew over the roof of the car as they reached the main road? I hope to soon provide further details of this fascinating case, but so far Ben has not got back in touch after his initial E-Mail, so for now this is all the information that is available. • Newcastle-Upon-Tyne Contact Case - Hair Covered Beings

Birmingham UFO Group Report Author: Dave Hodrien Originally forwarded from Richard Hall Release Date: 21/11/2010 Introduction It is quite rare that BUFOG receives a case featuring ET beings outside of the context of alien abduction. Even when beings are seen, they are usually commonly reported species such as Greys or Nordics. However occasionally we hear of other unusual species being witnessed. This report covers an incident where two men encountered some strange hair-covered humanoid creatures. Now much older, Thomas (name changed for privacy reasons) decided to share the details of what he and his friend witnessed. Incident Details The incident took place in later summer 1978/79 when Thomas was only 20/21 years old. At the time he lived in North Kenton, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. From time to time he and his friend James would walk out to a field close to where they lived to go rabbiting. This field lay between Fawdon and Kenton Bank Foot. On the day of the incident, the weather conditions were ideal – clear and sunny – so the men decided to head out to the field with their hunting dogs. They left home about 9.30am, and it took 20 minutes to reach the field. They headed across Hillsview School field, and then onward along a dirt track that lead to their destination. There was wheat covering the fields at the time. The men let the dogs loose, and got to work searching the field for rabbits. They spent the entire day and evening at the field. Aerial map showing the location where the field used to be: 📷 Photograph of how the area looks today: 📷 It was between 10-11pm. The moon was just starting to rise in the sky, but was still quite low and large, providing quite a lot of light. After a long day the boys began their walk back home to the East. They were walking back along the dirt track, when suddenly they noticed some movement in one of the fields ahead of them and off to the left of the track. Stopping to take a proper look, they noticed two short figures. At first they thought it was some kids. They decided to scare them by lifting the dogs up, but soon realised that the figures did not appear to be human. Photograph of where the dirt track used to be, taken from the location the witnesses were at in the direction they first saw the beings in: 📷 Photograph of the Tesco’s supermarket that now stands on the spot where the beings were first sighted: 📷 The beings reminded the boys of gorillas. They were broad and squat, with long forearms. They appeared to be covered in dark brown hair. They did not really have necks; their heads just came straight up out of the shoulders very similar to an ape. In fact they could have been mistaken for gorillas, if it wasn’t for the fact that they were wearing what appeared to be semi-luminous tight fitting white clothing! It was too dark to see their faces clearly. Witness drawing of the two beings: 📷 The creatures were slowly moving across the field heading away from them in a North East direction. They walked similar to how an ape would, using their forearms as well as their legs. The witnesses stared at them for a couple of minutes. The beings approached a dead tree on a 10 foot high bank next to the Ponteland Branch train-line which cut across the fields. Suddenly one of them jumped about 30 feet in the air onto the tree. It grabbed hold of the tree with its right arm and swung around to face the men. They stared at the creature for a few seconds, but they were both un-nerved as it appeared to have noticed them. Aerial map showing various locations involved with the incident: 📷 Photograph showing the bank of the old Ponteland Branch train-line (Now Tyneside Metro) where the old tree used to be located: 📷 James said “I don’t like the look of this!” He began to hurry along the track to the gate which lead to the school field. Thomas walked slower and continued to watch the beings as he did. The being jumped back down off the tree and rejoined the other. By this time Thomas was on the part of the track that led along the edge of the field where the beings were situated. The beings began to walk South heading across the field in the direction of the track. As they did they would occasionally stop and start rolling around in the wheat in a playful manner. They did not appear to be approaching Thomas intentionally. Map drawn by the witness showing the original layout of the area, and the route the beings took in relation to him and James: 📷 A second map drawn by the witness shown on top of a modern map of the area: 📷 As Thomas reached the gate, he turned and looked one last time and could see that the beings were now close to the track where he had been. This was the last he saw of them. He caught up with James and they discussed what they had witnessed. When they arrived at Thomas’ house, his mother said they looked like they had seen a ghost. They decided not to tell her about the beings. Later when James was back at his own house and in bed he heard a loud thump noise on his bedroom door. He was already un-nerved by what had happened earlier on, so was very frightened by this and could not go off to sleep. The following day, Thomas asked James if he would like to return to the field to see if there was any trace of where the creatures had been, but he refused. Instead Thomas asked another friend to go along with him, and told him all about what they had seen. When they got out to the field they found the path of flattened wheat that the beings had left behind and also the areas where they had rolled around. Thomas told others what they had found but sadly did not take any photographs at the time. Unfortunately Thomas lost touch with James some years ago, so unless he sees this report it is unlikely I will get to speak with him about the beings. Incident Analysis This is quite a bizarre story, but Thomas has nothing to gain through sharing the details of it, and I believe it took place as he described. The beings seen were very unusual. If they were extraterrestrial in nature, then no UFO was ever seen. The men had no way of knowing how they had arrived at the location they were at. Reports of hair covered ETs/beings are rare but there have been occasional cases reported. Elsewhere on the BUFOG website you can read details of a sighting of a tall hair-covered humanoid that was seen in Michigan back in 2000. In his book “Alien Liaison”, Timothy Good also mentioned another case from Colorado where a family experienced UFO sightings, unusual electrical activity and beings covered in dark hair that were seen in the proximity of their property. I do wonder if the beings were in fact two escaped gorillas, perhaps from a nearby circus. This would explain the unusual clothing they appeared to be wearing. However when I put this possibility to Thomas he said this would be extremely unlikely as the only site where such an event would have taken place would be on the town moor, which was a good 3 miles away from where the incident occurred and separated by several busy council estates. This explanation also ignores the fact that one of the beings apparently leapt 30 feet in the air to grab hold of a tree. But could Thomas have been mistaken on this particular aspect of the incident? Maybe the tree was not as tall as it appeared to be. Maybe the being actually used the tree to clamber up very fast, which appeared like it had jumped. We must also take into account the fact that the tree was quite far away from their location. It is great that Thomas returned to the field the following day with his friend, and the flattened crops could still be seen. It is a shame that he did not take any photos which could have been used as evidence for the presence of the beings, however such photographs could easily be hoaxed so would not really prove that much. The identity of the two hair-covered beings remains an intriguing mystery. If any other witnesses come forward, their accounts will be added to this report. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010
