Meeting Venue

BUFOG meets once a month on a Thursday evening in the function room of Hotshots Snooker Club, 100 Crosswells Road, Oldbury, Birmingham B68 8HH. Meetings start at 7.30pm and tend to go on until between 11pm-11.30pm (though you are free to leave earlier if necessary). On arrival head through the main door into the reception. If the main door is locked press the buzzer on the left and one of the venue staff will open it. In the reception area the entrance to the function room is on the right. The room is spacious and filled with tables and chairs to sit at. There is a well priced bar with a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available.

Travel Options

By Car

From Five Ways Island, Birmingham: Head west along Hagley Road (A456) until you reach the cross roads with Wolverhampton Road (McDonalds will be on the right and The Amber Tavern will be on the left). Turn right and travel north along Wolverhampton Road until you reach the cross roads with Causeway Green Road (Sytner Oldbury BMW on the left, Flavourz World Buffet on the right). Turn right and travel North East along Causeway Green Road until you reach the roundabout with The Merivale pub on the far side. Take the first exit onto Crosswells Road (B4182). Hotshots will be a short way along on the right.

From M5 Junction 2: Come off the junction. When you reach Birchley Island take the fifth exit onto Churchbridge (A4034). Take the first turning on the right onto Park Street which becomes Park Lane. When you reach the fork in the road with Trifford Road, take the left fork. Take the second turn on the left onto Station Road (B4182). Keep driving along this and it will become Crosswells Road. Hotshots is on the left just before you reach the roundabout.

Hot Shots has a small car park but this will often be full during evenings. There is usually plenty of free parking along Crosswells Road. If all spaces are taken try one of the other roads nearby, most will have free parking available. Note: Do not park in the car park adjacent to Hotshots, this is private and they may decide to close the gate.

By Bus

From Birmingham centre: Catch the number 12 bus from Colmore Row SH2 bus stop alongside Cathedral Square and opposite Gusto Italian Restaurant. Travel on the bus for approximately 46 minutes and get off at The Merivale bus stop on Vicarage Road (B4169) , Oldbury. Walk South for 1 minute along Vicarage Road until you reach the roundabout. Turn right onto Crosswells Road. Walk North West West along Croswells Road for approximately 2 minutes until you reach Hotshots on the right.

To Birmingham centre: Leave Hotshots at 11pm. Walk South East East along Crosswells Road for approximately 2 minutes. Head straight across the island onto Dog Kennel Lane (B4182) and wait at the bus stop opposite Chicago Pizza for the final number 12 bus at 11.09pm. Travel on the bus 30 stops for approximately 28 minutes. Arrives at Colmore Row stop SH2 in Birmingham centre at 11.37pm. (If don't want to risk getting on the last bus, there is one that arrives at the same stop at 10.35pm which will arrive in Colmore Row at approximately 11.17pm).

By Train & Bus

From Birmingham centre: Catch a train from New Street Station to Sandwell and Dudley Railway Station. Turn left and walk South West along Bromford Road (A4034) until you come to the roundabout. Take the first exit onto Church Street. Walk along until you reach Oldbury Council House Bus Stop OR. Wait for the number 12 bus. Travel for  six stops until you reach Western Road. Walk south along it until you reach the T-junction with Crosswells Road. Turn left and wallk along until you reach Hotshots on the left.

From Wolverhampton centre: Get metro  from Wolverhampton St Georges to The Hawthorns football stadium. Walk to The Hawthorns Railway Station. Get a train two stops to Langley Green Railway Station. Exit the station onto Western Road. Walk south along it until you reach the T-junction with Crosswells Road. Turn left and wallk along until you reach Hotshots on the left.
