  • May 1992 to 2010 - Cannock Chase – UFO Sightings & Missing Time

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Last Updated: 01/06/2010 For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used Glowing UFOs Helen and Barry moved to their current address, a quiet cul-de-sac in Huntington on the edge of Cannock Chase in July 1990 when they were both 43 years old. They have a good view from their lounge to the North of both open fields and dense forest. Aerial map of Huntington: 📷 One night in May 1992 the couple were sitting outside when they noticed a bright white light to the North over the Chase. As they watched, the object moved up and down, side to side, and periodically shone down a bright beam of light to the ground. Due to these movements they initially assumed it was nothing more than a helicopter. However suddenly the object vanished, leaving nothing but a red trail across the sky for several seconds! The couple were amazed by what they had just witnessed. The following evening the same object was back in the sky again, roughly the same place it had been previously. Helen and Barry began watching it intently. To Helen the object appeared more long than round in shape, it reminded her of a dragonfly. After a short while a red glowing orb of light appeared below and to the left of the main object. Soon after this a second red orb appeared below and to the right. The two red orbs moved closer together until they were directly under the main object. Then all three unidentified lights vanished at once. Astoundingly this same thing began happening every night for the rest of the week. It always happened at the same time in the same location. Helen and Barry informed their teenage children and their next door neighbour of the objects, and on numerous evenings they too saw them. After about a week the lights no longer appeared in the sky. However this wasn’t the last time they were seen. They appeared on several other weeks between June and August. Each time they would reappear for numerous days in a row. In July one of their neighbours was having a leaving party for a Scandinavian exchange student who had been visiting for the week. During the evening, the unusual glowing object was once again seen in the sky, this time very low down. Their neighbour found some binoculars and some of those present managed to get a closer look at the object. Like usual, the two red orbs appeared underneath and then the lights appeared to fly away in a North Westerly direction extremely fast. The exchange student was astounded by what she had seen. The UFOs appeared so regularly during those months that it became quite common to observe them. Barry would just say to Helen “You friend’s in the sky again tonight!” The couple were unsure if anyone else also noticed the lights in the area; if they did they kept quiet about it. Helen used to regularly check the newspapers to see if anything was reported but the lights were never mentioned. Missing Time At the end of August for the bank holiday weekend, the family decided to go on holiday to Tywyn in Wales where they own a caravan. Their eldest son travelled with his sister in his own car. Barry and Helen travelled in their car with their 5 year old son. They set off in the early hours of the morning at about 2.30am to avoid the traffic. About 10 minutes into the journey Barry realised that the car was not driving fast. They advised their son to split up from them and take the M54 motorway from Featherstone. They assumed that the reduced speed was due to some unclean petrol. Barry decided that the best course of action would be to travel back home, siphon off some of the petrol, then they could top it up at a 24 hour petrol station, before travelling on the A5 to Telford. When they arrived home they found that the car was responding a bit better, so decided to continue their journey through Penkridge to the A5 without bothering to stop to siphon off any petrol. As they left the house Barry noticed the glowing light in the sky again in the usual position. He pointed it out to Helen. They continued on their journey. It was a very clear night with no rain. The road was very quiet with hardly any other traffic. They travelled at a slower speed than normal, about 45 mph. The distance to the caravan at Tywyn was 106 miles. As they left Welshpool on the A458 and began driving up a long hill, Barry said to Helen “Your friend must be keeping an eye on us!” Helen looked out of the left passenger window and noticed a bright white light in the sky, which looked very similar to the glowing light they had seen over the Chase on many occasions. It was higher in the sky than they had normally seen the UFO at. As they were travelling West at that point not North, Helen thought that the light must be a bright star or planet rather than the UFO. Photograph showing the long hill just west of Welshpool where the light was first spotted: 📷 They continued driving and the light remained to the left of them in the sky. As they approached a deep valley which leads to Mallwyd, Helen noticed that the light seemed to be getting nearer to them. She pointed this fact out to Barry. He continued to drive, keeping one eye on the road and the other on the light. They neared an area which they have nicknamed “the wilderness” due to the fact that the fields on one side of the road are always brown and scorched, while the other side is always green. There is a line of pine trees growing in this area. The light now got brighter and seemed to be hovering low down over these trees. It was now quite close to the road and clearly an object rather than just a bright star. Photograph of the approach to the valley which leads to Mallwyd: 📷 Helen was now very frightened due to the proximity of the object. She stared up at it through the passenger side window. The object was long and cigar-shaped, and had small illuminated square windows along it. It was at least the size of an aeroplane, and seemed to be completely silent. It appeared to follow alongside them for a short distance, during which it briefly shone down some searchlight-like beams towards them. They then turned a sharp bend at the start of the valley. Helen now saw the familiar red orbs arrive. One came in from the left, and the other from the right. At this moment all the objects flew off together extremely fast down the valley and out towards the sea. Barry and Helen did not say much to each other after it had gone. They were quite shocked at what had taken place. By the time they reached the caravan, it was beginning to get light. They both felt exhausted. Their 5 year old son had been asleep in the back of the car for the entire time. When they arrived their children looked extremely happy to see them. They soon found out that the time was now 7 o’clock in the morning! The journey had taken far longer than it should have. They had set off at 2.30 am. By the time they had returned home after the car started going slow it was around 2.50 am. The journey from their home to the caravan was 106 miles and they were driving approximately 45 mph. Therefore they should not have arrived any later than 5.10 am. There was nearly 2 hours of time they could not account for. Both Barry and Helen were very confused by what had happened, as they had no recollection of stopping at any point to observe the UFO. Aerial map showing the entire journey indicating Huntington (A), Welshpool (B), Mallwyd (C) and Tywyn (D): 📷 The couple told their son and daughter all about what had happened, but have not spoken to many others about it. In Helen’s own words “Unless something like this has happened to you, it is difficult to expect people to understand. It is beyond reasoning. There are no explanations”. Further Sightings After the missing time experience, the UFO was not seen again over Cannock Chase until the following year. In the summer of 1993 they only saw the object on several occasions, but it was still enough to know that they were still in the area for whatever purpose. On one of these occasions they had gone to pick up Helen’s father from Bloxwich to bring him back to theirs for a visit. Prior to this experience her father had been sceptical about what had been observed, but now he too had become a witness, and from this point onward kept an eye on the night sky. The UFO would not be seen again for many years after this. However in 2010 Helen and Barry once again spotted it in the sky over the Chase. They observed it for around an hour. As had been seen on previous occasions it was shooting beams of light down into the forest. During this incident they attempted to take photographs. Unfortunately the light from the object was too bright and the photos didn’t come out correctly. Since then the object has not returned to the area, but due to the amount of repeated times it has been seen it is likely that the witnesses have not seen the last of it. Analysis Of Events It seems incredible that a UFO would return to the same area again and again. In most cases a UFO will be seen only once at a specific location, or only a  few times within a particular area. However due to the aspects of what has been observed, it is very hard to provide a suitable mundane explanation for what has been seen. The obvious explanation for the lights seen at a distance would be a helicopter over the Chase, military or otherwise, performing a regular operation for whatever purpose. However there are several reasons why this could not have been the case. First of all, if the helicopter did switch its lights off suddenly this could give the appearance that it had vanished, but not leave a glowing red trail in the air. It was clear that the objects had not just switched off but had left the area at an extreme speed. This was observed on many occasions, so an optical illusion seems very unlikely. While the colours of the lights seen – white and red – were correct for helicopter navigation lights, the white light had an elongated shape, it was not simply a glowing light. Also the red lights did not appear alongside the white one, they would appear separated and then move towards each other shortly before all the lights would vanish. Again if the lights had only been seen once, you could perhaps assume this was just an illusion caused by a change in angle of view. However the lights were seen time and time again performing this same pattern. If it was just due to viewing angle surely the red lights would sometimes have been visible immediately? The lights were also seen by the whole family, their neighbours and other individuals. Surely this many people could not mistake helicopter lights for something far more unusual? Then we must take into account the fact that the lights were seen much closer up during the couple’s journey to Wales. It was clear that these were the same objects that had been seen over the Chase, and to separate them as entirely different objects is unrealistic. It was also clear that the white light was a cigar-shaped self illuminated object, which even had a row of visible windows along it. The red orbs of light were definitely separate objects and not connected in any way to the main glowing object. The missing time aspect of the close encounter with the UFOs is fascinating, and does suggest that something else occurred. There are many cases of abductions taking place while people have been out driving in their car. These incidents usually begin with a UFO approaching the vehicle, which is often followed by a period of missing time which cannot be accounted for. This is because the memories of the experience are often blocked out, probably to reduce the trauma involved. Barry and Helen were aware of the time they had set off from home, the speed they were driving at, and the distances involved to reach their destination. It was clear that the journey had taken nearly 2 hours longer than it should have. This fact was concurred by their son and daughter who were extremely worried by the time Barry and Helen did arrive at the caravan. I recommended a hypnotic regression to attempt to discover what may have happened during the period of missing time. However at present the couple do not wish to proceed with this as they are worried by what might be unearthed. If they change their minds then this report may later be updated with additional details that come to light. It may also be updated if the family have any further sightings of the UFO over Cannock Chase. I have suggested that they get hold of a decent infra red camera to attempt to capture the UFO on film if it should reappear. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2012

  • 28/05/2010 - Wombourne - Metallic Oblong UFO Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 07/06/2010 Dave Rose from Wombourne, South Staffordshire, has a keen interest in the UFO subject and is a regular on the BUFOG forum. Towards the end of May he had a brief but intriguing sighting of a strange aerial object. Sighting Details Late morning at 11.20am on 28th May, Dave was walking along the brook towards the Wombourne Common close to his house. The common lies alongside the disused railway line. It was a sunny and clear day, with a few scattered clouds in the sky. Map showing Wombourne Common and the approximate position the witness was at: 📷 Dave suddenly saw an oblong shaped object glint in the sunlight. It was almost a square, but an extra 1/3 taller than the width. It looked like it was metallic and possibly pale brown in colour. It appeared to be about 400 yards to the North of his position, over the common, and Dave estimates it was about the size of a double decker bus. He believes it was about 150 feet in the air. He only caught a glimpse of the object for a fraction of a second, but it appeared to be travelling at a very fast speed, heading in an Easterly direction. Photograph of Wombourne Common: 📷 Dave realised that the object could not have been a normal aircraft because of its shape and how low it was to the ground. He continued to look at the sky for several minutes, but the object had vanished. He wondered how it had disappeared so quickly. He had a digital camera in his rucksack at the time, but of course the object vanished much too fast for him to have got a photograph of it. Sighting Analysis This is a bizarre sighting and one which is certainly interesting. The odd straight-edged shape of the object certainly points towards it not being a conventional aircraft or helicopter of any type. Also if it was an aircraft, it surely would have been visible for longer. Sometimes aircraft can only be seen when the sun momentarily glints off them, but in this situation the aircraft would be very distant. The object Dave saw appeared much closer to his position. The object appeared much too large to be a kite/balloon of some kind. And once again if this was the explanation, it would have remained visible. It is a shame that Dave only caught a brief glimpse of the object, if it had been seen for longer he may have been able to get a clearer view of it or even snap a photo. It is possible that the object was moving at an extremely fast speed and had disappeared from the area almost immediately. Alternatively it could have disappeared via some other means. Due to the briefness of the sighting, we cannot be certain of what was seen or not seen, but the shape of the object certainly points towards it being something artificial rather than natural. • 22/06/2010 - Wordsley - Silver Sphere UFOs Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 04/07/2010 Sighting Details On 22nd June 2010, BUFOG member Martin Mitchell, his wife and eldest son had a sighting of two UFOs in the area of Wordsley. It was 5.47pm and the three witnesses were in the back garden of their house on Hope Street. It was a sunny and warm evening, with a clear sky, so they had decided to eat outside around the patio table. Aerial map of Hope Street: 📷 Suddenly Martin noticed two objects in the sky to the North of their position. The objects were spherical in shape and silver in colour. They looked smooth surfaced and were reflecting the sunlight. The objects were quite close to each other, and were positioned diagonally. They looked to be about 3 miles away and were about 500 feet high. They were moving slowly towards his location. Martin estimates they were moving about 30mph but this was hard to judge. He pointed out the objects to his wife and son. About 30 seconds after first sighting the UFOs, Martin decided to run and get his digital camera to take a photo of them. He went into the house, grabbed the camera and headed back outside. The objects were still approaching slowly. He snapped a photograph of them and then continued to watch with his wife and son. The objects began to arc around in a curve slowly, until they were travelling at 90 degrees to their original direction and moving off to the East towards Hinley/Gormal. After this they then began to slowly ascend in altitude. The witnesses continued to watch until the objects vanished from sight into the distance. In total the sighting lasted for about 5 minutes. Sighting Analysis This sighting has some interesting aspects to it. The appearance of the objects and their proximity to one another make it highly unlikely that they were conventional aircraft of any kind. But could they perhaps of been balloons or inflatables? Both Martin and myself believe that the objects performed manouvres which suggest that they were under control rather than randomly drifting. It was a relatively still evening with only a slight breeze. If they were balloons they would more than likely have ascended throughout the sighting not just towards the end of it. Also I find it unlikely they would have moved round in an arc as they did, and would have just continued on a straight course in the direction of the wind. There is also the fact that the objects appeared to be flying in tandem, and retained the same distance from one another throughout the sighting. Obviously balloons cannot be fully ruled out as an explanation, but the movement patterns exhibited suggest otherwise. Reports of spherical silver coloured craft have been reported all around the world for many years. Could this incident have been a genuine sighting of two such objects? Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010

  • July 1997 - Prescott, Arizona - Blue Light UFOs Sighting & Missing Time

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Last Updated: 10/07/2010 Introduction Paul (name changed for privacy reasons) has worked for the last 30 years as a satellite engineer and medical technical device designer. In June 1997 when he was 33 years old, he worked at Prescott Valley for 8 weeks. Prescott Valley is roughly 80 miles North of Phoenix, Arizona. He was working on a micro machining centre for a medical device. He is a rational, level headed and intelligent engineer. While working at Prescott Valley he had a strange experience involving mysterious glowing lights and missing time. He also suffers ongoing complications possibly linked to the incident. This report will cover what took place in detail. Sky Spirits During his time at Prescott Valley, Paul spent a day on the Yavapai Indian reservation, socialising with them and drinking liquor they make from cactus. He spent the night with the tribe and they stayed up late talking. The elders of the tribe talked about seeing “sky spirits” in the area. However the younger men of the tribe believed that these were actually muilitary helicopters using white sound speakers to cancel out the sound of the rotor blades. This made sense to Paul as he knew that the USA was testing this technology. Incident Details It was the last weekend before Paul was due to return home to the UK, and he had a day to relax. He decided to go for a drive to Sedona. It was a very hot day, so hot that when he stopped at a shop and left a drink in the car, when he returned to the car the drink had completely evaporated! Dehydration and sunstroke is a major concern in such conditions. Paul drove on from Sedona to Williams. He then realised that he had misjudged how far he had driven, and that it would take a long time to get back to his motel in Prescott. So he began his return journey immediately, which took him North East along Route 89 across the Prescott desert. It was getting dark and he was about 20 miles from the motel. The sky was completely clear, providing a stunning view of the stars above. The area was flat and desolate, with small bushes either side of the road. There was nobody else on the road. Map showing Route 89, Prescott and Prescott Valley: 📷 Paul suddenly noticed three extremely bright electric blue lights in the sky. The lights were stopping and starting moving individually from one another, moving up and down and around in curves. They were on the horizon about 2 miles away from his position, to the right of the road over some small mountains. Daylight photograph of Route 89, showing the low mountains in the distance, over which Paul saw the lights: 📷 At first he thought they might be aircraft, but if so other lights would also be visible. So he assumed that they must be the helicopters that the Indians had talked about a fortnight before. He was not certain that helicopters had solitary blue lights on them either, but this seemed like the best explanation at the time. They appeared to be flying in formation. Then one of them suddenly moved down in an arc, while another dropped down before moving back up. These movements were sudden and rapid, and Paul did feel it was strange that helicopters would act like this. Paul is interested in aviation, so decided to pull over to see how well the white noise would cancel out their sound. This is the last thing that he remembers doing. He does not remember actually stopping the car, the rest of the return journey or arriving back at the motel. The next thing he knew he was waking up in his room, lying fully clothed on his bed. He felt a bit dazed and wondered what had taken place. After getting up and going to have a shower, Paul noticed some things that seemed at odds with normality. Every night he would fill up an ice bucket and put in some Mountain Dew and water in case he awoke in the night and was thirsty. But looking at the bucket he found it was empty. Also he would always park his car outside his motel room, but when he checked outside he found that it was parked round the back of the motel instead. This was very strange and he wondered why he would have done this. A Suggested Explanation Later on at work, Paul told his work mates what had taken place. They came up with a straightforward explanation. They agreed there had been a number of strange lights in the area and put them down to helicopters, just as Paul had. They suggested that Paul's memory loss was the result of dehydration. When he drove back to the motel, someone else was in his space so he parked the car around the back instead. When he got back to his room he was so dehydrated he simply passed out on the bed before filling the ice bucket or undressing. At the time Paul thought that this was a logical enough explanation for what had taken place. He was aware that memory loss can occur with dehydration, and so thought nothing more about the incident. Electrical Inteference When Paul was back in the UK, he started to get a strange feeling in the bridge of his nose between his eyes. This feeling would occur whenever he was near high electrical fields or when he held his mobile phone close to his head. It felt like a light pressure rather than actual pain, similar to the feeling you get after having a nose bleed. He still gets this feeling today when in close proximity to electrical devices or magnets. He sometimes needs to work near to MRI scanners, and feels it then. He has never been to a doctor about the complaint. He is not sure of the reason for it, but never experienced it prior to the incident at Prescott Valley. Change of Character When he returned from Prescott Valley, his friends told him that his character had changed. They said that he seemed more remote, like he was observing rather than taking part. Paul was not really aware of this change at the time. Looking back, Paul feels he was able to understand what people were talking about very quickly and easily, although he admits this could be just down to experience. Incident Analysis The UFO sighting that Paul had, and the subsequent unusual things which took place are very interesting. The lights themselves could potentially have been helicopters, but Paul did mention that their movement seemed strange and rapid. I also find it odd that they would just have blue lights on them; usually other colours such as white/red would also be seen. But they were seen at a distance, so maybe their lights were merging into one. If something like this were sighted over a town, it could be put down to blue LED balloons that had been launched that were caught in unusual air currents. However this seems very unlikely out in the desert, so I do not believe this is an adequate explanation. The memory loss aspect of the incident is also intriguing. Again it may have been dehydration, but if so surely he would have been feeling its effects long before he saw the lights? Paul says his memories up to deciding to pull up were clear, but afterwards there was nothing. I find it hard to believe his memory would have switched off completely from one moment to the next if caused by dehydration. It is interesting that his last memory was of looking at some unidentified lighs in the sky. However it certainly appears that he did drive the rest of the way to the motel without remembering. It is of course unknown if the feeling he gets in the bridge of his nose is related to what happened, but is certainly a possibility. The position of the feeling is interesting, as in contact cases implants are often reported to have been placed or found here. Could the feeling he gets near to electrical or magnetic fields be caused by an implant reacting to those fields? There is no other evidence pointing towards interaction of any kind with the lights so this is only a suggestion, but is still worth considering. If Paul does have an implant, an X-Ray might reveal this, but at present he has no plans to go for one. While all the aspects of the incident potentially have normal explanations, the fact that they all occurred after one another makes it very mysterious. Paul is considering the possibility of being regressed to see if he can remember any further details of what took place that night. I will update this report with any further developments. • 07/03/2010 - Rochester - Glowing White UFO Photographs

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Last Updated: 10/07/2010 This report covers a multiple witness sighting of a bright star-like object which was observed moving around the sky for quite a long time. During the sighting a number of photographs were taken, which are analyzed later. Jayne Scopes, the mother of the family, contacted me shortly after the incident to ask for my opinion on these photographs. Sighting Details At around 10.30pm on Sunday 7th March 2010, Jayne’s daughter Bekki was in the back garden of her house on Peal Close, Rochester, Kent, with her boyfriend Mackenzie. It was a relatively clear but cold night, with very little cloud cover. Both the stars and moon were visible. Bekki noticed in the night sky to the South West West what at first appeared to be a very bright star, which looked like it was flashing and rapidly changing colour between red, blue and green. Since her gran died, her mum has always said that her gran can be seen as the brightest star in the sky. After 10 minutes, she and her boyfriend went back inside the house and called Jayne, telling her that she could see gran’s star flashing in the sky. She came out to take a look. At first Jayne thought the object was just a large bright star, and that the blinking effect was caused by light cloud passing in front of it. She called out her husband Trevor to also take a look. They both decided it must be a star and headed back inside. A short while later, Bekki informed her that the “star” had moved position in the sky. Jayne was curious and so went back outside and stood and watched the object with them for a while. Sure enough it was slowly moving across the sky on a straight flight path. It was now that they realised it was an object within the atmosphere. It looked like it was over the area of Wainscott. Jayne assumed it must be a helicopter and so once again returned inside with her husband. Bekki and her boyfriend continued to watch the object. Aerial map showing location of witnesses and area over which UFO was probably situated: 📷 Ten minutes later, she called her parents back outside again, telling them that the object was now moving more. Her younger sister and her boyfriend also headed out to see what the fuss was all about. Sure enough the object’s movement was more noticeable now. It moved towards their direction, then away, then to the right and back again at a constant speed. It was completely silent, and it was hard to judge exactly how high it was or how big it was, and whether it was a complete glowing object or a light on a bigger object. Bekki suggested to Jayne that she should try photographing the object on her mobile phone camera. When she did so it came out too dark, so Bekki went to get her digital camera, zoomed in on the object and started to take photographs from the patio. At first she tried with the flash on, but the images were dark and nothing came out. However with the flash off, the camera picked up the object as a long bright orange erratic line (See photograph analysis). The sighting continued for about an hour, then suddenly without warning the object vanished. The witnesses were sure it was not obscured by cloud, as it was quite a clear night, and the area of the sky where the object was situated was completely clear. The object, whatever it was, had disappeared without trace. The witnesses remained out in the garden for several minutes longer to see if the object would reappear but it did not. It was very cold so they all decided to head inside. Sighting Analysis This is a very interesting sighting, and although the object was distant with no clear shape or structure, it has the possibility of being something unusual. Many sightings of slowly moving glowing orbs of light can be put down to Chinese lanterns. However lanterns are usually a fiery orange colour, not bright white (although they can sometimes appear in this way). But while lanterns do flicker they do not change colour. Also the sighting lasted for an hour, this is far too long for a lantern to have stayed lit (they can stay lit for up to 45 mins but usually burn out much faster). Could the object have been a helicopter at high altitude, so high that the witnesses could not hear the rotor blades? Perhaps, but this does not explain how it suddenly vanished without trace, the pilot certainly would not have switched all the lights off after dark. If the object was over the area of Wainscott where it appeared to be, then Jayne says they would certainly have been able to hear any loud noise coming from it. As the object changed course and moved back and forth, it could not have been a satellite or the International Space Station, and it was visible far too long to have been an earth light. Besides these do not usually appear over urban areas. Also it appeared to be under intelligent control. I feel that if there is a mundane explanation for the object, it is most likely to have been a remote controlled LED balloon, set to flash different colours. These can stay lit for a very long time as they are electronically lit, not alight. Also this could account for the movement patterns seen. However this does not explain how the object suddenly vanished without trace. Surely if it was an LED balloon, the witnesses would have seen it slowly descend to the ground out of sight? Therefore the true origin of the object is currently unknown. Camera Specifications Alba A100 10 megapixel Optical zoom x 3 Digital zoom x 4 ISO compatibility Auto125/200/400/800/1600/3200 (3 mega only) Photographic Analysis Below are the photographs Bekki took with the flash on: 📷 📷 📷 📷 📷 As you can see, the images are too dark to pick much up. Most show blurred shapes but nothing distinct. In one of the photographs the object has appeared as an erratic faint white line. I assume this has been caused by camera shake when taking the photograph while zoomed in (Contact me and let me know if you have another suggestion). Below are the images she subsequently took with the flash turned off: 📷 📷 📷 The erratic line is now very clear indeed and glowing brightly. It is interesting that the colour seen is bright orange, yet the object appeared to be white with various flashing colours of red, blue and green. This orange colour is possibly due to the low light conditions (Again contact me if you have another suggestion for why this might be). For an unknown reason, the third photograph shows two distinct erratic orange lines, with a similar third paler line above and in between them, in triangular positioning. The pattern of the three lines is the same so I assume that this has been caused by loss of focus which has split the image into numerous duplicates. It is unlikely that the object split into three separate orbs of light, as this would have been visible with the naked eye. In several of the photographs there is what appears to be a classic saucer-like shape with a raised central area above a disc, but this could be just be an illusion caused by the light captured, and I do not believe that these images prove it was a flying saucer or show the object’s true shape, I just find them interesting. Firstly here’s two zoomed images taken from two of the photographs with the flash on: 📷 📷 On the second photograph with the flash turned off, the right hand end of the line looks like a small saucer shape, similar though not identical to the shapes above: 📷 Are the above observations relevant or not? You’ll have to decide that for yourself. In the other photos the shapes do not represent a saucer at all, so this is far from conclusive. There is no point of reference in the photos, but Jayne assures me they were taken looking into the sky visible above the end of the garden. I have no reason to doubt this, as there is no real incentive to make up the story, and she has been very open with me about all aspects of the sighting, which I am very grateful for. Jayne says there are no other lights or reflective points in the garden which could have accounted for the glowing lines seen. She is sure that these are how the camera has picked up the object. There are some dull flecks of light which may be other stars in the night sky, but this is hard to say for certain. I always enjoy receiving photographs to back up testimonial evidence, and currently this case will remain an intriguing mystery. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010

  • 24/06/2010 - Bromsgrove - White Orb UFO Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 10/07/2010 Sighting Details Late evening on 24th June 2010, Simon Richards and his partner Johanne McAuley had just headed up to bed in their house on Cobham Close, Charford, Bromsgrove. It was a still and clear night with very little cloud in the sky. At about 11.10pm as they were about to settle down to sleep, they heard the sound of a low flying helicopter coming from the North West. This happens every week or so, and because he was still awake Simon got out of bed to take a look and see where it was heading. He looked out of the bedroom window and saw the unmistakeable white, red and blue lights at about 300 feet in the sky. Aerial map of sighting location: 📷 The helicopter went out of sight, so Simon walked through to his son’s bedroom to continue watching it as it moved away from their location. The window in his son’s room was ajar, and he could easily make out the whirring noise of the helicopter. It moved away to the South East. He was just about to put the blinds down on the window and return to bed, when another light in the sky caught his attention. It looked like a single orb of glowing white light. There was no shape distinguishable behind the light. The object was moving at a constant speed and heading towards his location. Simon was puzzled by this light, so after about 20 seconds called Johanne to also take a look at the object. She came to the window, and both witnesses continued to watch the light as it moved closer. Drawing of UFO based on witness description: 📷 As it got near, it could no longer be seen from the window where they were. Simon decided to run downstairs and out into the back garden to continue observing it. The object was still present and moving away from the area on the same course. It was a quiet night, and there was no sound coming from the object at all. After about 15 seconds it vanished into the distance, or may have been obscured by some cloud. Simon went back inside and briefly discussed the sighting with Johanne. They both agreed it was strange, but then decided to settle down to sleep. Sighting Analysis This is an interesting sighting and not one which we can give a conclusive answer to. It seems unlikely the object was a conventional aircraft, these usually have other coloured lights on. Also the object appeared to be completely silent and did not look like it was a very high altitude. Perhaps it was a secret military craft/drone of some kind, but if so it is improbable that they would have flown it right over a populated city. It appeared to be too bright and large to be a satellite, and was moving too slow to be a meteorite. There is a slim chance that it was an earth light, though these do not usually appear over urbanised areas. It is very unlikely to have been ball lightning as the weather was clear. I feel that the most likely explanation for the object was either a white LED balloon or a Chinese lantern. LED balloons are helium filled balloons that are internally lit electronically. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and the larger ones are sometimes even remote controlled. Chinese lanterns are paper lanterns that are lit from within and float up into the sky. At a distance appear as glowing orbs of light. Even though they are usually a fiery orange/yellow colour, they can also occasionally glow pure white. Both LED balloons and Chinese lanterns tend to get caught in air currents and drift across the sky on a straight path, exactly how Simon described. As with many UFO sightings, there is no definite answer on what the object was, and it shall more than likely remain a mystery. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010

  • 05/07/2010 - Carmel, Indiana - Orange UFO Photograph

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 23/07/2010 Sighting Details Late evening on the 5th July 2010, Tom Smith and his wife Lana had just returned from a fireworks display in Carmel to their home on Dover Drive. They unloaded their SUV and Tom headed inside the house. Lana remained out on the front drive for a moment looking up at the sky. It was a pleasant night with a clear sky and a very low wind blowing, estimated about 3-4 mph. Suddenly Lana noticed a glowing orange object heading towards her from the South West over the house. She called out Tom to also take a look at the object as it passed over almost overhead. Aerial map of Dover Drive indicating sighting location: 📷 Photograph of Tom and Lana’s house over which the UFO was seen: 📷 The object appeared to be quite large, Tom estimated it to be about the size of a stealth bomber. It was at quite high altitude but appeared lower than the altitude aircraft would fly at. Due to the brightness of the orange glow coming from the object it was hard to see its actual shape. This glow was constant in brightness and not flickering at all. The object was heading on a straight course to the North East. Tom does not remember whether it was moving in the same direction as the wind or not. It appeared to be moving quite fast, Tom estimates about 300 mph. The couple watched the object head off into the distance. As it headed away, Lana tried taking a phoptograph of the object on her mobile phone, which unfortunately just came out as a glowing orange pinprick of light: 📷 Zoomed photo of the UFO: 📷 Within a couple of minutes it had been lost from sight. Tom and Lana remained on the drive chatting about what they had seen. A few minutes went by and then they noticed a second object, exactly the same as the first, and heading on the same course. Again it flew overhead and was lost from sight in the distance. They continued to watch the sky. Another few minutes went by and then Lana spotted a third object heading towards their location. At this point Tom decided to go and get his binoculars from the garage to take a closer look. When he first looked at the object, all he could see was an intense orange glow. He readjusted his binoculars and made out a triangular shaped object from which the glow was emanating. He and Lana watched this third object go out of sight. They remained outside a while but no further objects came over so in the end they headed back inside. Tom is ex-military, and has worked for 18 years in the Air Force Reserves. He says that the objects they saw were like no aircraft he had ever seen before. They had no beacon lights on them and were glowing intensely. Both him and Lana were in awe at what they had seen. Tom says that although they have a digital camera they didn’t think about using it at the time as they were so amazed at what they were witnessing. In the morning Tom rang a previous co-worker, Cliff Allen, who flies small commercial aircraft out of the Greenwood Indiana airport. When Tom discussed the sighting with Cliff, his first response was “I don’t know what you saw”. After further discussion he suggested Tom could have seen some UFOs. Later Tom informed his children, brothers and sisters who were interested in what him and Lana had seen. Sighting Analysis This is an interesting sighting, though I do wonder if what was seen was either lanterns or LED balloons. Chinese lanterns do glow a bright orange colour and at a distance it is hard to tell their exact shape. Despite the fact that they often flicker in brightness, sometimes they can appear constant. Lanterns are often launched in multiples. They drift up into the sky and if caught in an air current can appear to follow each other along a straight course across the sky. The objects did not perform any manoeuvres that would suggest they were under intelligent control. Chinese lanterns are usually cylindrical in shape, yet Tom said that the 3rd object appeared triangular. However lanterns are sometimes created in other shapes, or possibly the triangular shape he saw was an optical illusion caused by the brightness of the glow coming from the object. Tom says the objects looked like they were as large as aircraft, however after dark there is no point of reference so it is possible the objects were lower in the sky than they appeared, and therefore could have been smaller. The bright glow emanating from them could have also made them appear larger. The other possibility is that the objects were orange coloured LED balloons. These can come in a variety of shapes and again tend to follow a straight course across the sky. As they are electronically lit they do not flicker at all, so perhaps this is the explanation. Obviously I cannot say for certain that it was either of these things. The triangular shape is certainly interesting, so there is still the possibility that they were three unusual glowing craft of some kind. As with many cases, it’s up to you to assess the evidence and decide what you feel the objects were. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010

  • Dudley Contact Case - Greys Visitation, UFO Sightings, Automatic Writing, Portals

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Last Updated: 23/07/2010 Introduction Tom shares a house with his wife Laura (name changed for privacy reasons) on Moss Street, Derby. Since an early age Tom has noticed strange occurrences around him, but up until he moved from London to Derby in 2008 he did not really pay much attention to these. However recently a number of incidents have taken place which has lead him to wonder if he may be experiencing extraterrestrial contact. These incidents have included numerous UFO sightings, and an apparent visitation by beings. Since this visitation Tom has felt the urge to write pages of complex symbols, which appear to be a form of language he does not recognise. The Investigation When Tom first started looking into the contact subject, initially got in touch with Mary Rodwell, the renowned contact specialist and hypnotherapist from Australia. As Tom lives quite close to Birmingham, Mary passed on the case to myself to investigate further. I first spoke with Tom via E-Mail on 14th July 2010. For the next few days we discussed his experiences in brief detail. I decided it would be much better to speak face to face, so on Sunday 18tth July I drove to Derby to go over everything with Tom at his house. This also allowed me to get some location photographs and some direct drawings from Tom. Tom is interested in being regressed so we soon plan to get this arranged through the hypnotherapist who assists me with cases involving contact. Once this goes ahead, any additional findings will be added to the report. Being Watched For as long as he can remember Tom has felt like a presence is watching him. This feeling comes and goes but gets worse after dark or when he is on his own and not distracted. Sometimes he has even spoken, thinking someone is close behind him, and when he’s turned round there’s no-one there. He often finds this feeling very un-nerving, and leads to him being uncomfortable in the dark. This feeling of being observed is very common with contactees. It is possible that Tom is sensing an ET presence which is watching over him. Portals Between the age of 10-12, Tom occasionally thought he could see what he believed to be “portals” in the air. These would appear like a slit of white light. They would always be a little way off the ground and about 6 feet in length, but only a few inches wide. These would tend to appear in the daytime and mostly outdoors, although a few times he also saw them indoors. There would only ever be one at any one time. Drawing of one of the “portals”: 📷 He was so convinced that they were there that he would try to jump through them, and assumed that when he did he would go somewhere else. He has no idea why he thought of them in this way. When he did try to jump through them nothing would happen and he would sometimes fall to the ground. He used to point them out to his friends, and wondered why they could not see them also. After a while he started to get ridiculed about them, so around age 13 he stopped talking about them with others. When he did this he stopped seeing them. It is possible that in denying them to others, he somehow lost the ability to see them himself. Exactly what Tom was seeing is unknown. It is quite possible that it has nothing to do with ET contact, and that it was some kind of condition with his sight. The fact that he mostly saw them outside could suggest that they could have been a trick of the sunlight. I feel that he was too old for them to have been caused just by his imagination. As Tom never informed a GP about what he could see, and as he no longer sees them, the real reason behind them will probably never be known. Feelings Since an early age Tom has felt like he is an observer inside his own body. He finds this feeling hard to describe, but says it is like he is learning on someone else’s behalf who is looking out from his eyes. This feeling has become more prominent since moving to his current hose in Derby. Another thing Tom has always felt is that he is here for some purpose/mission, although he doesn’t know exactly what that is at present. This is quite often reported by contactees. Tom is quite artistic, and feels that he should be using his art to teach people and increase their positivity. Since moving to Derby in 2008, he has felt more multi-dimensionally aware, and certainly believes that there is more to the world we exist in than we currently know about. Sleep Paralysis Since his teenage years Tom has experienced sleep paralysis incidents very occasionally (roughly once every six months). These incidents tend to occur in the middle of the night. He will wake up and find that he cannot move. He does not panic during these experiences, and is more curious. Sometimes he feels like he is falling into himself and the more he tries to wake up the further he sinks. He will usually then fall back off to sleep. One time recently he tried to speak to Laura, but just a croak came out. Even though sleep paralysis can sometimes cause side effects which can be similar to things experienced during contact, I do not feel that this is responsible for Tom’s other experiences. Fears Tom has a number of particular fears and phobias which are quite interesting. He has a phobia of elevators, and will always take the stairs if the option is available. He feels very uncomfortable in corridors, and also has a fear of needles. All of these are commonly reported by contactees. It is possible that the feeling of being taken up in the lift reminds him of being taken up into a craft, although there is no clear signs that Tom has been abducted. Again corridors may well remind him of the cramped conditions aboard an ET craft. And his fear of needles could well have come about through him remembering examination procedures performed on him during an abduction. These are far from definates but given Tom's other experiences could still be relevant. July 2009 Giant UFO Sighting Mid week in July 2009 (exact date unknown) Tom had a fascinating sighting of a gigantic UFO in close proximity to his house. It was mid-afternoon and he was in the lounge and lying down relaxing on the settee. Tom began staring out of the living room window into the sky, visible over the rooftops of neighbouring housing. It was a pleasant dry day with patchy cloud. For some reason he began to feel like he was watching something, even though there was nothing visible initially. This was very strange and Tom says he has never felt this before or since. View from the living room window from Tom’s position: 📷 He had been staring out of the window for several minutes, when suddenly something incredible took place. A huge object suddenly appeared in the sky. It appeared to flicker into existence rather than instantly appear, almost as if it was phasing into our reality or dimension. The object was stationary in the air, roughly 300 feet. It was a long conical shape, similar to a jet engine. It had a curved surface and was silver in colour. There were a number of lines over the surface as if it were put together out of sections. The left hand end sloped inward on itself into darkness. Tom estimates it was about the size of a block of flats, about 600 metres long, with the opening in the end about 150 metres across. He immediately felt that it was a massive craft of some kind, and that it was a “boarding craft”. He believes he thought this because of the massive opening in the craft, he felt that other smaller craft would fly into this space. Drawing of the UFO: 📷 After about 10 seconds, Tom decided to rush and get his camera to try and photograph the object. He jumped to his feet, still looking out of the window. He could still see the UFO so ran through into the kitchen to grab his camera. After picking it up he turned and looked out of the kitchen window but the object had completely vanished. He went back through to the lounge but could no longer see the object from the other window either. Later he informed Laura about what had occurred, who seemed to accept what she was told. Thinking back to the sighting, Tom felt that his emotions at the time were unusual. He says he wasn’t really that surprised when he saw the object, as if he was anticipating its appearance. This is a truly fascinating UFO sighting. Both the appearance and size of the object are quite unusual, and it is certainly possible that the object was a mother ship of some kind. Tom was wide awake at the time of the sighting, so it is unlikely that he dropped off to sleep and dreamt what took place. The fact that he could still see the object after he had jumped to his feet means it is also unlikely to have been an optical illusion caused by light coming in through the window at a certain angle. It is a shame that the object had vanished after he had got his camera. Perhaps the occupants sensed that he was about to photograph it and this is why it left. This would of course assume that it was there on his behalf rather than just randomly in the area. Simon’s emotions at the time also tend to support this theory. If it was just an hallucination, it seems a very bizarre thing to have imagined. The object appeared to have definite structure to it with markings and sections. Due to the size of the object, it is likely there would have been other witnesses to it. Unless Tom has heightened senses, perhaps gained through contact, which allowed him to detect the presence of the UFO. Tom has never seen anything like it before or since. White Orb Sightings On three different occasions, Tom has seen glowing white spheres of light crossing the night sky. The first of these sightings occurred at Dudley station. The other sightings both occurred in proximity to his house. Photograph of Dudley station: 📷 The first sighting took place in March 2010. Tom starts work quite early in the morning. He was down near Dudley train station at 4.50am and outside having a cigarette. The morning light had just started to come up, and it was a pleasant morning with patch cloud covering the sky. It was also completely still. He happened to glance up into the air, and saw a glowing light in the sky moving towards his location. He looked at the object more closely and could see it was a spherical shaped object, quite pronounced, and glowing white. This glow was constantly bright throughout the sighting, and the object was highly visible against the sky. Tom believes it was about twice the size of a car in size. It wasn’t at a very high altitude, perhaps 500 feet up. Aerial map showing sighting location: 📷 Drawing of the glowing orb: 📷 The object was moving on a straight and level course at quite a slow speed, about 30 mph. Tom says it definitely looked like it was under control rather than just drifting. It flew nearly directly overhead, and soon afterwards was lost from sight behind the station building. It remained completely silent throughout the sighting. The next time Tom saw a similar object was on a Thursday in late June 2010. He was outside in the back garden with Laura having a smoke. It was 11.30pm, and a cloudy evening so the stars were not visible. However it was a pleasant night and quite still and dry. Just like the first sighting, Tom happened to glance up into the sky and noticed the UFO. It looked extremely similar to the object he had seen near Dudley station. However it was moving much faster than the first UFO had been, and appeared to be at higher altitude, thought still below the cloud layer. It was moving on a straight course heading in a North East East direction. He pointed it out to Laura and told her that it looked the same as what he had seen before. Photograph from the sighting location in the direction the object was first seen: 📷 Soon the object was lost from sight behind a tall tree. Tom ran up to the back bedroom of the house and looked out of the window to continue observing the object. He watched it move away into the distance until it could no longer be seen. Photograph from the bedroom window in the direction in which the UFO headed: 📷 Two days later on the Saturday, him and Laura were round their neighbours house having a chat. They were all in the back garden. Tom told his neighbours about the object they had seen earlier in the week. The neighbour said that they had set off paper lanterns from their house, and this is what Tom must have seen. But this is impossible as Tom and Laura would have noticed it come over the fence at low altitude as they live right next door. The object they saw was already at quite high altitude. It got to about 10pm and then suddenly he spotted the object again! This time it was at slightly lower altitude but moving in the same direction as last time. He pointed it out to everyone present and said, “There, that’s what I saw!” Again they watched it until it had vanished from sight behind the tree. Tom is certain that the objects he has seen were not Chinese lanterns. He has launched these numerous times before so knows exactly what they look like. Besides this, lanterns usually flicker and tend to be a fiery orange/yellow colour, although at a distance they can sometimes appear bright white. But the object flew almost directly over Tom, so it is likely it would have been close enough to make out the actual shape and colour. It looked like a sphere at all times throughout the sighting. There is the possibility that the objects were white LED balloons, but again these are not usually completely spherical. I showed Tom some videos of LED balloons on the internet, and he says the object he saw looked quite different. Tom is also certain that he was not mistaking aircraft or helicopters for the objects. He says that they were completely silent, and he would have definitely heard the sound of the engines or rotor blades. It is very interesting that one appeared soon after mentioning it to the neighbour. Tom felt very thankful that it had turned up again, almost as if it had done this on purpose. Many contactees have reported seeing glowing orbs of light either in the sky or in their homes. It is possible that these orbs were related to Tom’s contact experiences, and were in the area specifically to observe him. A Visitation In early July 2010, Tom would have the experience which would made him first start to wonder if he was a contactee. Up until this point, he had only really seen unusual aerial objects, but now he would finally get to meet the occupants! Tom was sitting in his room and kept feeling like something was scurrying all around him. He kept seeing out of the corner of his eye what looked like long black worm-like things darting across the floor. He started to get very confused by this, and also started to feel very intensely that there was something else in the room with him. This combined with the recent sightings of the giant craft and white orbs convinced him that something was taking place. He asked out loud “Look, if you’re there, can you show me that you’re there and let me know that you’re there?” Nothing else happened at the time and the feeling seemed to die away. Drawing of one of the “black worms”: 📷 Two nights after this unusual experience, he was lying in bed about 12.30am. As he keeps the bedroom door ajar, the room is never fully dark and it is possible to make out objects. He was feeling wide awake, as just before going to bed he had a cigarette, which tends to keep him alert for a short while afterwards. He was staring up at the ceiling and started to see the black worms again, floating around above him. He thought to himself “That’s funny, my eyes must be playing tricks on me”. Photograph from Tom's viewpoint in the direction he was initially looking: 📷 He has no idea why, but for some reason he then turned his head to the right. He was greeted by the sight of three Grey beings standing alongside his bed. They were quite short in height, at most 4 feet. They had large heads with low set black almond-shaped eyes, small nostrils and a mouth that was barely visible. There were no ears visible. There was a pronounced ridge along the side of the head which gave a clue as to the underlying bone structure. The beings appeared to be naked. Their bodies were slender, with thin elongated arms. Each hand had four elongated fingers. Tom could not really see their lower halves from his viewpoint. The beings were all a medium grey colour, with the chest area appearing more blue-grey in colour. Their skin appeared smooth and blemish less. Photograph of the bedroom showing where the Grey beings stood: 📷 Photograph from Tom's viewpoint in the direction of the Grey beings: 📷 Sketch showing Tom in bed and the position of the Greys alongside him: 📷 Drawing of the nearest Grey being: 📷 The beings were standing quite still, although they certainly looked alive rather than like unmoving mannequins. For some reason he sensed that they were joyful and laughing. This was very unusual as their mouths were barely visible, but this emotion he felt from them directly in his mind. This was extremely strange to Tom. He was not scared by the presence of the beings, he was more intrigued by them. The nearest Grey to Tom’s head raised it’s right hand and moved it towards him. The long pale fingers reminded him of Jack Skellington’s fingers from the Tim Burton movie “The Nightmare Before Christmas”. Drawing of the Grey’s hand: 📷 Tom looked back up into the room, and saw something else floating above him. It was a strange black shadowy form, with two outstretched arms and a head shaped similar to a lizard. It appeared to have a tail which tapered off, similar to a classic Halloween ghost. The strange entity began floating down towards him and looked like it was going to enter his chest. Drawing of the lizard-like entity: 📷 This was too much for Tom to cope with and he was un-nerved by what was happening. He turned to his left towards Laura, who was fast asleep. He went to wake her up to tell her about what was taking place and put his hand on her shoulder. At this moment he sank immediately to sleep. This felt extremely un-natural, like he had suddenly been sedated. The next memory he has is of waking up in the morning. He told Laura about what he had experienced. This is a very interesting experience and one which I believe took place. Tom has not looked into the UFO or contact subject much, so was not aware of how Greys generally look. However his description is absolutely spot on with what many others have reported. Even the fact that the chest area was more blue-grey than the rest of the being has been reported before, including in a case from Australia which I investigated a while back. The fact that he asked the beings to show themselves a couple of days before the experience tends to suggest that they answered his request and allowed him to see them briefly. The black worm-like things and the other shadowy lizard-like entity are very unusual. I do find it interesting that the shape of its head reminded Tom of a lizard, perhaps it was in some way related with the species known as the Reptilians. Why it moved towards him, and whether or not it did actually enter him remains a mystery at present. It is also unknown whether anything else took place, although the fact that Tom suddenly dropped off to sleep certainly suggests that there may have been more to this than we are currently aware of. I hope to soon arrange a regression for Tom, and through this he may remember more taking place. Art Pieces Many of the art pieces Tom has done are up around the walls of his house. Several of the pieces he has done for some reason remind him of his experience with the Grey beings. He had done these pieces prior to the visitation, but since then he feels that they are in some way related. They also remind him of “harvest” and “connectivity”, things being together which should not be. This reminds him of his experience with the beings because he feels in some way he was not meant to see them, but was given a chance to. The art pieces which remind him of the visitation by the Greys: 📷 There is one more piece of art Tom has done which struck me as interesting, and possibly related to his experience. Tom says that through this piece he is trying to tell a story, but doesn’t know what that story is. He has randomly put together various cut out shapes, but the piece does seem to show non-human figures and usual concepts which some may feel are connected with the mind, and also ancient Egypt. However Tom does not attribute anything he has created in this piece to any of his experiences, or knowledge he may have gained through them. The art piece which tells a story: 📷 Symbolic Writing A couple of days after he saw the Grey beings, Tom was sitting in the living room watching TV and doodling. He suddenly felt himself start to draw strange looking symbols. At first it felt like nothing at all, but then he started to feel like it was being more directed. He grabbed his notebook and began to write. It did not feel like he was in control over what he was writing, it just came out automatically. He wrote down two entire pages of symbols, arranged in rough lines. He looked back over what he had written out, and found that many of the symbols repeated numerous times. It certainly appeared that he had written pages of text in a language he did not recognise! The first two pages which Tom wrote out: 📷 Ever since Tom has felt the urge to write out these symbols. The feeling just comes on at random and is totally spontaneous. He does have control over it and can stop it from happening if he wishes, but if he thinks about what he is writing out his hand will stop. When I went to visit Tom on 14th July he had written about 30 pages out. He doesn’t always complete full pages, the writing will get to a certain point and then cease suddenly. Some examples of the pages of symbols Tom has written out: 📷 📷 📷 Quite soon after beginning this automatic writing, Tom decided to draw a picture of the giant UFO he had seen. He was in control of this picture, it did not feel the same as when he writes the symbols out. However after he had completed the picture, he then felt the urge to write a number of symbols underneath it. Perhaps what he has written is related to it in some way. Drawing of the UFO with symbols underneath: 📷 The writing of these symbols certainly seems linked with the visitation of the Grey beings, as it started soon afterwards, and Tom has never drawn anything like them before that point. He is absolutely mystified by what he is writing out, he does not feel any familiarity with the symbols. Obviously there may be alternative explanations for what is occurring, but it is incredible to wonder if Tom is actually writing down pages of text in an ET language. Tom is far from the only contactee to have done this. There have been other cases where contactees have written similar pages of symbols. These symbols usually differ, but this is unsurprising if you consider all the different languages on Earth and the vast differences in how these written languages appear. I will shortly be comparing these symbols with others to see if there is a connection with any of them. I also hope to get assistance from a language expert to check whether there is any similarity to any known language. If you feel that you may be able to assist with anything, get in touch with BUFOG. Conclusion I certainly believe that Tom has experienced ET contact. This may not necessarily have begun when he was young, however there are certain signs which could indicate this to be the case. His recent change in feelings, and numerous UFO sightings, followed by the Greys visitation and symbol writing are all evidence that suggests he is a contactee. It is unknown whether he will experience further contact or how long he will continue to write out the symbols for, but Tom has agreed to stay in touch so this report will be updated with any developments. I get the feeling that Tom’s experiences are far from over... Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010

  • London Contact Case - Beings, UFOs Sighting, Missing Time, Implants

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Last Updated: 29/07/2010 For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used Introduction Charlene currently lives in London. Ever since her teenage years, she has noticed strange occurrences around her. Some of these experiences may well have alternative explanations, though some of them suggest she may possibly be experiencing ET contact. At the very least she is a UFO witness, and was present during a multiple witness sighting of a number of disc shaped UFOs. This report will cover her experiences in detail, and whether or not you feel she is a contactee I’m sure you will find it very interesting. Missing Time When Charlene was 15-16 years old and living with her family in Kent, she had an experience which involved time she could not account for. At 4pm one Thursday she came home from school with a friend. On Thursday’s Charlene was allowed to go evening shopping. She and her friend went to the bedroom to change their clothes. When they went back downstairs, seemingly just a few minutes later, Charlene’s mum told them that it was too late to go out. When they checked the clock it was between 8-9pm. They could not account for the last 4 hours, and were extremely puzzled by what had taken place. This is an interesting incident, especially as Charlene was not alone at the time. The fact that her friend was also present and also experienced the missed time supports the idea that it actually took place, and also that those involved had not just dropped off to sleep. As the girls had just come home from school there is no way that they had mistaken the time which they arrived home, so this is a real mystery. Contactees often report incidents of missing time. The ETs are able to block out memories of events and tend to do so on most occasions, which leads the individual(s) involved to believe that time has jumped forward. As there are no other signs that anything unusual took place, this is by no means a definite in this case, but is certainly a possibility that must be considered. Sleep Paralysis Since age 19 Charlene has occasionally suffered from sleep paralysis incidents. At first she put this down to sleep deprivation as it would occur more often when she was tired, and then seemed to cease for long periods of time. She often tries to shake herself out of it, which sometimes works, and other times does not and she falls off to sleep instead. However if she lets it take place, she feels like her feet are being dragged downward. She has also sometimes felt like she is being dragged into the gap between her bed and the wall and stamped on, and feels as though she is biting down on her teeth so hard that they fall out and causes physical pain. It usually takes place when she is about to drop off to sleep, but has occasionally woken up in the night and found she cannot move. Twice during sleep paralysis she has seen figures in her room. The first time it ever occurred, she could see a tall shadowy form by the side of the bed and thought that her male flatmate was standing over her. She went to switch the light on and it was then that she realised she could not move. In March 2010 Charlene went on a holiday to Egypt. She was staying in an apartment in Barat, Luxor. One night she experienced severe sleep paralysis, during which she felt extremely scared that something was coming to get her. She had not experienced this emotion before and it was quite frightening for her. When she woke up the following morning she had an extreme pain in her back. Charlene did not suffer from any back pain prior to the sleep paralysis incident, so it does seem to be related. In May 2010 Charlene had a highly un-nerving sleep paralysis incident, once again involving beings. At the time she was living at a house in Stockwell, London, with her boyfriend Ben. As she settled down to sleep on the left side of the bed with Brent to her right, she suddenly heard a strange ringing sound in her ears, similar to a tuning fork. This was accompanied by pressure and a tingling sensation at the back of her head. She tried to ignore it and it died back down. Then in the room over on Ben’s side of the bed she suddenly noticed a couple of strange shadow like figures. They were about 4 feet high and were moving around the room quite fast in a gliding motion. They had a humanoid form but did not look exactly human. One of the figures moved from near the end of the bed towards the door, and seemed to pass right through it. Then another (or the same one) came back across the room and stood by the bed next to Ben. Charlene remained staring at the figure. It was at this point that she realised she could not move. Her left hand was draped over Ben. Suddenly she felt a small hand grab her own and start pulling it away from him. The hand felt like that of a child’s but with less soft skin. At this point she became a little disturbed and so started to try and shake off the paralysis. She often does this by wiggling her fingers and toes. Ben felt this movement and it woke him up. He helped Charlene break out of the paralysis. When she looked around the room the beings were no longer there. She stayed up a while and told Ben about what she had just seen and felt. He said that while he did not see anything, he did feel that there was some kind of presence in the room. Despite the fact that some aspects of ET contact can be similar to symptoms experienced with sleep paralysis, I feel that most if not all of these incidents can be put down to the later. Charlene has suffered from sleep paralysis for many years on a regular basis. All of the unusual things she has referred to – the pulling sensation, the ringing sound, the feeling of a presence, seeing shadowy beings in the room – are symptoms that can sometimes be brought on by sleep paralysis. The incident in May 2010 is the most interesting, although the fact that the beings were seen only while Charlene was experiencing paralysis, and that Ben did not see them at all tends to suggest that they were a side effect of the paralysis, rather than something more unusual. Other Sleep Anomalies One time when she was younger, Charlene remembers waking up to find herself standing on her bed facing the corner of the room and pointing up at the ceiling. On another more recent occasion she awoke to find her right arm pointing up into the air, and felt it had been there a while. It is probable that these incidents have just been caused by Charlene moving around in her sleep, and could well be related to the sleep paralysis episodes that she gets. Charlene often feels uneasy at night while lying in bed, and when she closes her eyes she feels that if she re-opens them she is going to see something in the room. She doesn’t like the dark but can’t sleep with the light on so is forced to turn it off. Many contactees are afraid of the dark, probably because their contact experiences take place at night and they subconsciously know this is when the beings come for them. Unmarked Helicopters Since moving to London in 2003, Charlene has regularly seen black unmarked military-type helicopters in her local area. Since then she has been at four addresses in Brixton, Stockwell, Clapham and Bermondsey where she currently lives. She has both sighted and heard these helicopters at all of these addresses. For example, at Stockwell she would regularly see a black double belly military helicopter that would circle the area several times for about an hour. She hears them almost daily, usually early in the morning around 3.00-4.30am. Although Charlene realises that they may be in the area for other legitimate reasons such as crime or terrorism response, she wonders if they are keeping an eye on her because of her experiences. Reiki Healing Back in 2005 Charlene was having stomach problems. Her friend suggested performing a Reiki treatment on her. She apparently found that Charlene’s symptoms were directly related to a previous relationship which she had not fully gotten over. After the treatment her friend also suggested that she learnt the Reiki for self healing purposes. In September 2005 Charlene learnt Reiki level 1 and 2, and learnt master/teacher levels in January 2006. She now runs her own company. Charlene has always wanted to heal others and feels good about the work she does. While some contactees have reported having healing abilities, which may have been brought on from their experiences, I do not feel that in this case it applies. Obviously most people who study and perform Reiki healing are not contactees. Disc UFOs Incident On a weekend in summer 2007 (exact date unknown), Charlene and seven friends would experience a bizarre series of events. Charlene was round one of her friend’s houses in Wolseley Gardens, Chiswick, London. It was the afternoon and a bright sunny day, with patchy cloud in the sky. Everyone decided to lie out in the back garden on the grass. They were chatting to each other when suddenly a couple of her friends noticed two objects. They pointed them out to Charlene and the others present. Aerial map of Wolseley Gardens: 📷 Charlene looked up without getting to her feet and saw two silver disc-shaped objects in the sky. The objects appeared smooth with no markings visible. They appeared to be at quite high altitude, but were below the clouds. It was hard to judge their exact size, but they looked smaller than a plane would at that height. The objects were almost directly overhead, and it is unknown how long they had already been there for. They appeared to be moving erratically, weaving around one another at a fast speed. Suddenly the discs moved into formation in close proximity to each other. Now Charlene noticed that there were four discs not two. It is possible that each of the initial discs had split into two. The discs were lying vertically to one another and in a row, and from their new angle looked like oblongs. They remained stationary for several minutes. Then a black helicopter approached the area from Charlene’s right. It appeared to be at a lower altitude than the discs. As it got closer to where the discs were, all four of them suddenly shot off in different directions extremely rapidly. This movement was extremely abrupt, it was clear that the objects were under intelligent control. As they departed from the area in different directions, Charlene also felt that they increased in altitude, but were soon lost from sight. Suddenly quite close to the helicopter, a grey/black cloud of vapour appeared to spread outward from nowhere. Later someone would describe this as similar to an aircraft dumping fuel in the air, although as Charlene has never seen this she has nothing to go on. Over the next 15 minutes or so, the clouds appeared to change in some way and looked abnormal. When she looked at the sun it was like it was encased in a bubble or forcefield of some kind, with rainbow coloured light streaming through it in the direction of the helicopter. It was a truly bizarre sight that Charlene finds very hard to describe. The helicopter then proceeded to fly towards the sun and strange clouds. Charlene doesn’t remember whether it vanished suddenly, but she lost sight of it. After this over the next 5-10 minutes the clouds and sun seemed to return to normal. Afterwards everyone present discussed what had just taken place, and were all excited by the events they had just witnessed. They looked online to see if anyone else had seen it, but there was never any articles/reports about it. They told people about the incident, but were not really believed. All the witnesses felt that what they had experienced was a real incident, it is very unlikely that eight people would have had a mass hallucination. This is certainly a very dramatic sounding series of events, which due to the large number of witnesses seems to have taken place. Obviously at the moment there is only Charlene’s testimonial evidence to go on, but I see no reason why she would make up this incident. It seems to have involved numerous disc-shaped craft which performed intelligent manoeuvres and moved at extremely fast speeds. It is unclear as to whether what occurred next was related to the discs or was something completely different. There is a possibility it was unrelated and was strange atmospheric phenomena such as aurora borealis, although this of course does not occur in the daytime over London! There are many unanswered questions regarding this incident – did the helicopter drop the dark vapour that was seen, did this vapour somehow cause the conditions then seen in the sky, was it some kind of portal that had opened up and which the helicopter then flew into? I would certainly like to speak to some of the other witnesses of this event, but so far have been unable to. If Charlene puts me in touch with any of them, their own details and verdict on what took place will be added to this section. Being Watched Charlene has felt for quite a while, especially in recent months that she is being observed or watched by something. This feeling comes and goes but she gets it worse at night, and usually she is uncomfortable with going to bed. Sometimes when she comes back to her flat she feels like someone has been in there, even though she knows they have not. She sometimes senses a presence or negative energy in the room. This sense of being observed is very commonly reported with contactees. If Charlene really is a contactee, she may well be sensing the ET beings watching over her as she goes about her life. Energy Implants When Charlene spoke with her friend who is a clairvoyant about her experiences, her friend suggested that she checked herself to see if there were any implants in her. On 7th July 2010 Charlene used a method of pendulum dowsing and found what she believed to be a number of energy implants in her chakras – crown, brow, throat, thymus and heart. She claims to have removed them using Reiki energy and symbols. After doing this she felt a lot stronger and positive. The following day she checked again and this time found 7 implants in all chakras except her throat, and one possible physical implant in her right ear. The inside of her right ear felt sore like it was bruised or cut, but had been fine the night before. She once again removed the energy implants using Reiki. Her ear felt sore for two days after which it seemed to be ok again. I am not an expert on Reiki healing or pendulum dowsing, so it would be improper of me to comment on the validity of Charlene’s claims here. It seems unlikely to me that so many implants would be put into place and then the following day be back again. It is possible that Charlene’s feelings about her other experiences led her to believe she had implants inside her. The soreness inside her ear could well have occurred naturally and been nothing to do with contact. The fact that after a couple of days the soreness went away certainly suggests this. Electrical Activity Quite often, contactees report strange electrical disturbances in their home or elsewhere. Charlene’s current flat has a ceiling fan in the bathroom with a wall switch. Sometimes she comes home and finds it has turned itself on, even though she knows it was off when she went out. This is yet to happen in her presence, but is interesting. In early July 2010, Charlene noticed that one of the ceiling lights above her bed was switching itself on and off, seemingly in a pattern rather than random flickering. Also on 12th July 2010, the light on her bedside table was on when she awoke, and she is certain it was switched off when she went to sleep. Obviously these incidents could be put down to normal technological faults, so may not necessarily have anything to do with ET contact. Conclusion While Charlene has obviously experienced some unusual incidents throughout her life, I feel that there is not really enough here to say that she is definitely experiencing ET contact. I feel that a lot of the more bizarre occurrences could be directly linked with her sleep paralysis, and so may not be related to contact at all. However other incidents such as the missing time and of course the disc-shaped UFOs sighting are very interesting indeed. Nothing in the later incident suggests that the UFOs were there for Charlene, it is probable that she was just a witness alongside everyone else who saw what took place that day. For the time being she is not interested in hypnotic regression, so we are not able to currently delve any deeper into these events. Perhaps in time Charlene will gain a greater understanding of her experiences, and may even experience other contact-related incidents. If she lets me know any further details they will be added to this report. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010

  • 27/07/2010 - Castle Vale - Orange Oval UFO Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 03/08/2010 BUFOG receives many reports of glowing orange coloured UFOs. Many of these can be easily explained away as either Chinese lanterns or LED balloons. However occasionally there are cases which suggest a much less mundane explanation. This sighting of a UFO over Castle Vale is one such case. Sighting Details Every evening Marcus Sharp likes to take a walk around his neighbourhood in Castle Vale, Birmingham. On the evening of 27th July 2010 at about 8pm he was out on one such walk. It was a warm and clear evening, and due to the time of year was still quite light in the sky. He was near the middle of the estate by Centre Park when he happened to look up into the sky and noticed a glowing object. It appeared to be above the far side of the estate towards the M6 motorway to the South. Aerial map showing Castle Vale and the M6 motorway: 📷 His first thought was that it was an aeroplane with sunlight reflecting off it. But he soon realised it looked nothing like a plane or helicopter and was completely motionless. His next thought was that it was something on fire in the sky. The object was glowing an extremely bright orange and appeared to be oval-shaped, almost like the body of a plane without the wings or tail. Marcus wondered if it was actually metallic and had bright sunlight reflecting off its surface. It looked smaller than a plane in size, but not particularly small either, but this was hard to judge accurately because of the distance. It was also hard to tell the exact height of the object, although it wasn’t at very high altitude. The sight of the object confused Marcus, and he stood there trying to work out what it could be. It looked nothing like a conventional aircraft. He had also seen Chinese lanterns several times before but this object looked a different shape and also much brighter than these had been. The UFO hovered completely stationary in the air for about 30 seconds. It was completely silent and the brightness of the light coming from it remained constant. Then all of a sudden it completely vanished. It was as if it had blinked out of existence. Marcus had not taken his eyes off the object, it was just there one moment, gone the next. Sighting Analysis Although this sighting does have some similarities with a Chinese lantern or orange coloured LED balloon, I find certain aspects very interesting indeed. It is true that lanterns burn a bright orange colour, however they do tend to usually flicker, and Marcus did watch the object for 30 seconds but observed no flickering. Also the shape of the object appears unusual for a lantern, and Marcus says it looked considerably larger than a lantern. He has seen lanterns before but insists that this object was different. When lanterns suddenly blink out this is actually the flame inside them burning out. However they will then fall back down to the ground. It was still daylight, so surely if this had been the case Marcus would have seen the object fall? Could the object have been an oval-shaped electronically lit orange LED balloon? This is a possibility, however if the light inside had suddenly been switched off the balloon would almost certainly have still have visible against the clear evening sky. Also both lanterns and LED balloons tend to drift randomly and even in still conditions will slowly gain in altitude, however Marcus observed the object hovering still for 30 seconds before it vanished. It was a clear night so there is no possibility that it was suddenly obscured from view by a cloud. The object was clearly present in the air, and because it vanished suddenly is very unlikely to have been a model. So could it have been a genuine sighting of a craft, maybe of extraterrestrial origin? Perhaps it was, as Marcus stated, actually metallic and reflecting the evening sunlight, and this is why it appeared so bright. There have been many sightings of oval shaped metallic UFOs all around the world. If it was a genuine craft, this would explain how it was able to hover motionless and also suddenly vanish without trace. I feel that this is certainly a possibility which should be considered, due to the reasons stated above. Marcus does not personally believe in UFOs and feels that it must have had an earthly explanation, however I cannot currently give one to any degree of certainty. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010

  • August 1974 - Castle Vale, Solihull & Liverpool - Oval UFO Formation Sightings

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Last Updated: 29/03/2018 Introduction This report covers a stunning incident involving a formation of UFOs which took place in early August 1974 and was witnessed by many people at various locations around England. The incident was investigated by a previous UFO group based in Birmingham named the Unidentified Flying Objects Study and Information Service (UFOSIS), and also made the newspapers. In December 2009 Andrew, one of a number of witnesses who saw the objects over Castle Vale, attended one of BUFOG’s monthly meetings. Afterwards he sent me details of his sighting at my request. On 14th August 2010 I was contacted by another man named Gary Smith. He informed me that he too had witnessed the fleet of UFOs, along with up to 30 other witnesses in the area of Campden Green, Solihull! He got in touch after doing a search for the incident on the net and locating this report detailing the Castle Vale sighting! I was extremely pleased by this, as this is one of the reasons I write these reports in the first place. On 1st September 2010 I met Gary at Campden Green so he could go through his sighting with me directly. I returned there the following day to take some photographs which can be seen in this report. In April 2011 another man got in touch with me via Richard Hall's website, and he spoke of an incident involving a formation of UFOs. He claimed it happened in 1973 but did not seem certain. I feel that he probably has the year wrong, and is probably speaking of the same incident. In January 2017, a lady got in touch via E-Mail to inform me that she and her mother had also witnessed the blue orbs observed by the gentlemen at Castle Vale prior to the appearance of the formation. In March 2018 Gary put me in touch with Leigh Brooks, another of the witnesses who was present for the sighting in Solihull. He too gave a statement about what he remembered seeing. The fact that this incident has been reported now by four different groups of individuals is extremely impressive. It remains the most highly reported incident that I have yet investigated. PART 1: CASTLE VALE SIGHTINGS Andrew’s notes on the incident are very comprehensive so I have reproduced them in their entirety below, which is why they are written in 1st person. When Early August 1974 (Round about the 4th or 5th). Where Tangmere Drive, Castle Vale, North Birmingham. Map of sighting location (Position marked A is where the witnesses were standing): 📷 What Happened A friend of mine, Nigel, his girlfriend Sandra and I were waiting at a bus stop between 10.45 and 11.00 pm following an evening at a pub disco (The Albatross Pub, now demolished). Castle Vale lies under the flight path to Birmingham Airport, so we were used to seeing and identifying aeroplanes on final landing approach. We had in previous years also spent evenings watching the Pleiades meteorites (late August- early September) entering the atmosphere from Nigel’s back garden, and could easily differentiate between a plane and a meteorite. This particular evening while we waiting for the bus to arrive, a medium sized passenger plane passed overhead heading for Birmingham Airport, the aircraft noise causing me to look up. The plane was travelling roughly North to South at several hundred feet and descending. As I watched the plane pass over head, I noticed two small blue/white lights following the plane very closely, less than half a planes length behind it, both points of light were constant, not blinking or changing colour, were parallel to each other and no more than 50 feet apart, based on the relative size of the plane. I drew the attention of my friend Nigel to the sight, and as we watched, the twin spots of light stopped following the plane stopped abruptly and then shot off in opposite directions, in right angles with respect to the path of the plane (West & East) at amazing speeds and were out of sight in seconds. Map showing route of aeroplane and UFOs: 📷 Map showing path of UFOs after they changed course: 📷 It was as we tried to follow the path of one of the light spots (East bound) that the main event happened. A group of oval/egg-shaped self illuminated objects, at least 8, possibly 10 or even 12 in number in a clearly defined V formation passed overhead from due East to North West at an astonishing speed. There was no noise, and any estimate of height or size was difficult to gauge as there was no real terms of reference. However, it was a very clear night with no cloud cover and a lot of stars visible, and even though there was a high degree of light pollution from the surrounding houses, because Castle Vale is flat (it used to be Castle Bromwich Aerodrome), it was possible to track these objects clearly from horizon to horizon as they passed overhead, and although it happened very quickly it was possible to see stars being obscured by the objects as they passed. The objects appeared a pearlescent silvery white and internally illuminated not reflective, and had a silvery-yellow/green corona surrounding around and extending out from each object as distance equivalent to about 5 or 10% of the size of the object. There were no other lights or colours visible, and the formation was a very tight V shape with a lead oval object and at least 4 objects fanned out either side of it in a trailing line. Witness drawing of how formation of UFOs appeared: 📷 Although it was impossible to gauge the objects height, I had a feeling that they were very high up in the atmosphere, which also implied that they must have been travelling extremely fast. I would describe them as each being about the size of an egg held at arms length. The whole formation took no more than two or three seconds to traverse from horizon to horizon. It was that fast. Map showing route of UFO formation: 📷 Nigel and I looked at each other in awe. Nigel’s girlfriend Sandra had not witnessed the event, and before we spoke about the sighting, other than to say something like “did you see that?” we decided to each tell Sandra independently what we saw so that we could not influence each other. Needless to say, our experience tallied exactly and we were left with the certain knowledge that we had witnessed a truly unidentified aerial phenomenon. Follow Up The following day I rang Birmingham Airport to report my sighting and asked if the two small white objects following the plane had been visible/identified on radar, and what the hell were the other UAPs that we had witness just seconds after the plane had passed over the estate? I was told that there was no record in the duty log of any unusual sighting or anomalous object recorded on radar or visually sighted, but I was told that the Airport had been inundated with similar calls and that they had just set up a special phone line to handle the calls, so I was transferred to an un-named person (I never asked) who proceeded to asked me a series of questions in a very efficient and structured way which made me think that whoever he was, he was skilled at asking for information. I was asked to recount our sighting, he interjected with many questions, i.e. shape, colour, speed, number of objects, direction of travel etc and then asked me what I thought it was we’d seen. I thought this was an unusual line so I asked him where he was from and why he was dealing with this incident like this, he told me that he was a “press officer” who was trying to reassure people that there was no cause for alarm. He declined to answer the “Where are you from” question. Although he did try to ridicule my sighting by suggesting that we had probably seen the planet Venus, marsh gas, headlights reflecting off clouds or a meteorite. When I asked him what was it that we had witnessed, he replied “If you find out let me know”. I called Nigel to tell him what had happened, and we decided that I would call the Airport again to try and find out who it was I’d spoken to. I called the Airport at about 3.00 pm, and as there had been a staff rotation since my earlier call, and no one recalled anything about it. I was told that no one had been talking calls on this subject and that any reports of UFO’s would have been recorded in the duty log and as there were none, despite me having called them less than 4 hour earlier - I must be mistaken. Next Steps The objects had been seen by many other eye-witnesses with reports of sightings from as far afield as Hull and the Humber estuary, right down through Bristol, Devon and Cornwall being made. The Birmingham Mail had a front page article about the “unusual fiery meteorite” visible over the midlands for several minutes the previous evening. A collation of eye witness reports revealed an S shaped flight path over the West Midlands, and this pattern was repeated over other parts of the country. A diagram with the estimated route was part of the front page article. The Edgbaston Observatory promptly produced an expert who stated that what we had seen was either a meteorite or a bit of space junk entering the atmosphere and burning up. This seemed at odds with the reported sighting positions, as a re-entering object tends to travel in a straight line, not perform aerial manoeuvres. Because of the massive interest this news item generated, BRMB ran the story and interviewed the founders of UFOSIS which was based in Birmingham to seek out their take on the event and UFO’s in general. Many people called into the station with their sightings and UFOSIS gave out a phone number for anyone who wanted to contact them for a further discussion. Nigel and I arranged to see them and visited their flat which was located in one of the twin tower blocks on Holloway circus. We both gave independent witness statements, being in separate rooms, and although our stories again matched in key details, there were some small details that did differ, although they would not discuss it with us. They said they would follow up on the Airport call mystery and would provide feedback at a later date. The results of their investigations in to the Airport phone line mystery was a dead end. No further information ever came to light. Strange as it may seem with hindsight, no one at the time though to speak to the MOD about the sightings. In fact I’m not sure we ever knew at that time that the MoD investigated or recorded UFO sightings, although I suppose the ex military guys may have known. I subsequently joined the UFOSIS group, who used to meet monthly in a pub in Harbourne; we undertook several sky watches on Harbourne Golf course where we spent the night viewing the skies through binoculars and I also participated in field interviews of people who had witnessed other strange sightings around the West Midlands. Retrospective It was all over in a couple of seconds but the memory of the sighting will stay with me forever. I became a convert to the possibilities of extraterrestrial life and began to read many of the key reference works on the subject. My personal favourites, probably because they were the first ones I read on this subject are: The Spaceships of Ezekiel by Joseph F Blumrich, Operation Trojan Horse by John A Keel and the Chariots of the Gods by Erich Von Daniken. Second Blue Orbs Sighting In January 2017 I was contacted by a lady who claimed that she and her mother had also witnessed these orbs on the same evening. She seemed very excited that someone else had reported seeing them. Sadly she did not respond to further E-Mails that were sent to her, so we only have the initial information she provided to go on. She claims that as she and her mother were walking home along Gunther Road (within a mile of Tangmere Close) they observed two blue glowing orbs in the sky. The orbs descended until they were only 15 feet above their heads. They appeared to be quite small, about the size of dinner plates. Aerial map showing the positions of Gunther Road (A) and Tangmere Drive (B): 📷 The orbs then hovered for a period of about 5 seconds, before suddenly shooting back up into the sky in an ascending arc to the right, and were soon lost from sight. There is no mention of an aeroplane in the lady's statement, so it is assumed that at the time there was not one present. It is possible that they witnessed them prior to Andrew and Nigel, but this is not known for sure. PART 2: SOLIHULL SIGHTINGS Sighting Details Gary’s sighting of the UFOs occurred at Campden Green in Solihull. Campden Green is a roughly oval shaped area of grass surrounded by a road and housing. He was on the green with his football team and had just finished a match. They would often use the green for this purpose. There was no official pitches or goal posts, they would just use bags to mark out the goal lines. It was a dry, still and quite warm night. Photograph of Campden Green: 📷 Gary does not know the exact time the sighting took place, only that it was late and the sun had set. The sky had patchy clouds but was mostly clear, with both the moon and stars fully visible. One of Gary’s team mates was standing a short distance away from the rest of them on the other side of a couple of trees near one edge of the green. Suddenly he shouted out “What the fuck is that?!” Gary and the others looked over and he was pointing up at the sky. They ran past the trees to see what he was looking at. In the night sky to the North West was a V-shaped formation of either 7/9 oval shaped objects. They appeared to be dull metallic silver in colour and had a slight orange tinge to them, possibly reflection from the street lights below. Gary had no idea of how high they were but did not appear to be at low altitude. He could see the stars between the objects so knew that they were separate objects rather than one large UFO. Photograph of the two trees near where Gary and his team stood: 📷 Photograph from where the team were stood in the direction that the UFOs first appeared: 📷 The objects were approaching from the North West of the green, heading in a South East direction towards the witnesses. They were moving very slowly, probably no more than 10 mph. This of course meant that everyone present could have a proper good look at the objects. They were completely silent as they slowly approached, and passed the witnesses slightly off to their right but nearly overhead. By this time Gary noticed that other people had started to come out of their houses and were also looking up at the objects. They were probably aware of the team standing, staring and pointing up at the sky and had come outside to see what was going on. Nobody from the houses approached him or the team they just stood at their doors watching. Due to the position of the team players, the objects were lost from sight behind the trees they were standing close to. They ran to the other side of the trees, and noticed that the objects were changing course. Before long they were heading in a South South West direction. They then appeared to stop turning and continued away from the green at a slow pace. Aerial map of Campden Green showing the path of the UFOs: 📷 Photograph in the direction that the UFOs left Campden Green in: 📷 Within about ¼ of a mile from the green the objects suddenly came to a halt in the sky. All the witnesses continued to watch the objects. After about 3 minutes, all of a sudden the object at the front of the V formation (the middle one) started to wobble erratically. It did this for about 30 seconds. Then without warning all the objects massively accelerated vertically and were lost from sight within a few seconds! The entire sighting from start to finish was about 5-6 minutes in length. Everyone present was absolutely blown away by what they had just seen, and realised that no earth-made objects would have been able to perform the manoeuvre with which the UFOs left the area. Nobody outside the houses came over and talked with Gary and his team mates. Second Witness Statement In March 2018 Gary managed to get in touch with Leigh Brooks, one of the other witnesses who was there in 1974. He confirmed that he recalled the incident and would be happy to talk to me about it. I got in touch via phone to ask him about what he remembered. He informed me that his memory of what happened was a little hazy as it had occured so long ago, but he was still able to go over what he did recall. For readability I have condensed his responses to my various questions into a single statement: "Me and Gary go back years. We used to regularly play football at Camden Green. I was 17 years old at the time. It was a nice evening with plenty of light. We had been playing football on the green for ages. I can't remember the exact time, it was late evening, with still some light in the sky. We had finished the match and were stood around having a chat. All of a sudden there were these stationary lights above us. I can't remember who spotted them first. Egg-shaped things above us, five or six of them. They all looked the same. They were a silvery-blue colour and gave off a glow. They were all together in a cluster, and looked about the size of a small car. To look at it they didnt look that high, possibly as high as a police helicopter would fly. They were just hovering there. We looked up at them wondering what they were. We must have only looked at them for seconds but it seemed much longer at the time. Then in the blink of an eye they shot off! I can't remember whether they shot straight up or off in a direction. There was no trail left behind, they had just gone. They went as fast as they appeared. After they had gone we just looked at each other, and someone exclaimed 'What the fuck was that?!' The incident changed my views on the UFO subject. To actually see it with my own eyes was mind-blowing. I have never to this day seen anything similar. A few years after it happened I tried to blank it out and kid myself it did not happen, but it did. As you can see there are a number of discrepancies when comparing Leigh's account with Gary's, especially the fact that Leigh does not recall them flying over the green, but just hovering over their heads. However discrepancies such as these are common with multiple witness sightings, especially when they have occured a long time ago. It is clear that Leigh is reporting the same incident, and I am very pleased that he has come forward with this statement. Sighting Analysis This is a very impressive sighting, and I believe clearly of the same objects that were witnessed over Castle Vale. The description of the colour of the objects slightly varies between the sightings, but this is common, and is often down to individual perception. It is unknown which sighting occurred first. The Castle Vale sighting occurred between 10.45-11pm. Gary does not remember when his sighting took place, but says that it was late. The fact that the objects were seen to be moving extremely fast over Castle Vale, but in the Solihull sighting were moving very slowly and also appeared to either travel to a very high altitude or even leave the atmosphere at the end of the sighting tends to suggest that the Solihull sighting occurred after the Castle Vale one, but this is by no means proven. In the Castle Vale sighting the objects came from the East and travelled to the North West. In the Solihull sighting the objects appeared from the North West. Solihull is directly South from Castle Vale, so it seems likely that after the objects had disappeared from sight of the Castle Vale witnesses, they then turned and headed South, and then as they neared the area of Campden Green turned and started moving South East. This is just speculation, however Andrew says that when numerous witness reports were correlated soon after the incident they revealed the objects had been moving in long S-shaped paths over numerous areas of England. Both of these sightings could well have lay on one of these paths. If the objects were seen performing these routes at various places in England, but not seen in between, this suggests they were either asending out of sight, making themselves invisible or teleporting between different locations. Perhaps at the end of the Solihull sighting when the objects shot straight upwards extremely fast, they then moved to another location in the country before descending again. We will probably never know for sure. PART 3: LIVERPOOL SIGHTING In April 2011 a man got in touch with Richard Hall about two UFO experiences he had witnessed in the 1970’s. One of these appears to be related to the 1974 formation incident. John (Name changed for privacy reasons) states that the sighting took place in the summer of 1973 but seems unclear on this, so it could have easily been 1974 considering how long ago this was. Unfortunately he has not yet got back to me with additional information, so at present I only have his initial notes to go on. John claims that he was playing with his friends on the local cricket field, about 8 miles from Liverpool airport. He was about 11 years old at the time. It was about 8pm in the evening and the weather was pleasant and clear. The light was just beginning to fade in the sky. Suddenly seemingly from nowhere, five large disc-shaped objects appeared in the sky over them. The discs were glowing a bright cream white colour. They were in the same formation as the dots on the 5 side of a dice, with four in a square and the fifth in the centre. The edges of the discs were very crisp and clear, but the objects did seem self luminescent. It was hard to accurately judge their height and size, but John got the impression that they were very large and hundreds of feet in the air. The discs hovered silently above them for a while. John and the others there began talking to each other asking things like “What the hell is that?” Without warning the centre disc then moved forward, making a V-shape formation with the other discs. Within a couple of seconds of this manoeuvre, all the discs suddenly shot straight upwards at incredible speed and vanished from sight. John has so far not provided me with any information relating to what happened next. He did mention that he does not believe the incident was mentioned in the newspaper, but as he was young he did not read the paper anyway so perhaps there was something. I feel that John may have the year of the incident wrong and that this was another sighting of the formation of UFOs that was seen up and down England that night. There are many aspects that are very similar to the other witness testimonies I have so far received. These similarities include the time of year and time of day the sighting occurred, shape of the discs, their colouration, the fact they were in formation and that prior to the sighting ending formed a V-shape, and the way in which the UFOs suddenly shot straight upwards. I hope to hear back from John soon and if so may be able to add further detail to his story of what took place. Special Note: John also had another UFO sighting in 1976/77. You can find details of this sighting in a separate case report. Click here to go straight to the report. CONCLUSION This incident is absolutely stunning, and made all the more impressive by the fact that the objects were seen by many witnesses at different locations across the country, not just Castle Vale and Solihull but according to Andrew elsewhere as well. Because of the various matching testimonies there is no question that the objects were real. The small blue/white orbs reported by Andrew, and later by the other female witness, displayed clearly intelligent manoeuvres which appeared intentional. Because of this, mundane explanations such as meteorites, satellites or lit balloons can be discounted. The formation was even more impressive, again displaying obvious intelligence in their structured positioning to one another. I feel that anyone who tries to explain these away as one or more meteorites/satellites is either not thinking straight or deluding themselves, as neither of these flying in organised formations. The objects were clearly under intelligent control – they turned without moving out of formation, altered their speed and also at the end of the Solihull sighting ascended vertically at an incredible velocity, much too fast for them to have been radio controlled models or some other hoax. If what Birmingham airport told Andrew was true, then the objects were also invisible on radar. The follow up calls performed by Andrew after his sighting are fascinating, and suggest that a cover up about the objects may well have taken place. Birmingham airport transferred his call to an un-named person who proceeded to ask him many questions about what he’d seen, and even ridicule him about the sighting. When Andrew asked who he was he replied that he was a press officer. But when he rang back to the airport a second time later, they informed him that no-one had been taking any calls about the objects and that there was nothing in the duty log about it. As a matter of course, calls taken would be added to this log, so why would their call have been left out of it? It seems likely that it was either not added for a specific reason, or that it was in the log and whoever Andrew spoke to on his second call was lying to him. Could the objects have been secret military craft of some kind? If so it seems unlikely they would fly them right across England, including over highly populated cities. And the manoeuvre they performed at the end of the Solihull sighting would surely have created G-forces way too high for a human pilot to endure. Also what reason would they have for tailing a commercial passenger jet with smaller glowing craft, this would surely put them in even more danger of being spotted. After taking all the evidence into consideration, I feel it can be concluded that this was a genuine sighting of a formation of unexplained intelligently controlled craft, which could well have been extraterrestrial in origin. • Barking Contact Case - Light Beings Visitation, UFO Close Encounter, Missing Time, Body Markings

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 31/08/2010 Introduction Mark Rathend (name changed for privacy reasons) first got in touch with me via E-Mail in early May 2010 after I sent out an advert about the BUFOG Contactee Support meetings. Mark has experienced numerous events throughout his life that could well be ET related. His experiences focus around two impressive incidents – a close encounter with a UFO with which contact appears to have taken place, and a visitation by a glowing entity a number of years later. This report will cover each of his experiences in detail, and includes numerous maps and location photographs. The Rocking Chair Mark used to live at a house in Dagenham, Essex with his parents. There used to be a rocking chair at one side of his bedroom. For many years, this chair used to often rock of its own accord. It would do this most nights, usually after his mum had put him to bed and he was lying awake in the room. Nobody else ever saw the chair do this, it would only do it in Mark’s presence. He felt it was strange but was never really frightened by it. It continued to happen right up to when his parents decided to throw the chair away. Obviously this may have nothing to do with ET contact. Perhaps it had a mundane explanation such as a regular draught of air. Or perhaps it was paranormal activity of a different kind. I mention it here because contactees often experience ghost like activity around their homes, often in their own proximity. So however unlikely, there is still the possibility it is related. 23rd November 1996 UFO Incident Mark’s sighting of a UFO and possible contact took place back in 1996 when he was 23 years old. His girlfriend Sarah, who he would later marry, lived in the same town on Cornwallis Road. On 23rd November Mark had gone round to see her. At 7.30pm he decided to leave for home. Sarah asked him if he would like to call a taxi but as it was a pleasant evening he said he’d rather walk. It was a warm, clear evening, and the sun was just starting to set. At the time Mark used to live with his mother on Ivyhouse Road. The route home lead him along Parsloes Avenue, which runs along the edge of Parsloes Park. It was quiet and there were very few people about. Aerial map showing the location of Cornwallis Road (A), Parsloes Avenue (B) and Ivyhouse Road (C): 📷 Photograph of Parsloes Park: 📷 As he walked along the road, he decided to cross over onto the side adjacent to the park. As he did so he noticed a strange object hovering over a small patch of trees a short distance into the park. The object was just above the trees, about 50 feet off the ground. It appeared to be cigar-shaped and was medium grey in colour. Mark estimated it to be about the same size as a double decker bus. It had a smooth shiny surface with no markings on. Along the side of the object was four rectangular windows. These windows were dark and Mark could not see anything through them. At either end of the object was a flashing red light, which were slowly strobing. These lights were not bright enough to light up the surrounding area under the object. Aerial map of Parsloes Park showing position of where the UFO was situated: 📷 Photograph of the patch of trees over which the UFO was hovering: 📷 The object was hanging motionless in the air above the trees. Mark had no idea what it could be. He thought at first it was some kind of balloon, but soon realised it could not be. He was both awestruck and frightened at the same time. But he was inquisitive enough to want a closer look. He entered the park and began walking towards the patch of trees over which the object hovered. He walked for about 15 seconds and got near to the trees, but did not feel comfortable with walking right underneath where the object was as he thought it may be dangerous in some way. He also felt that it was aware of his presence. Suddenly without warning the object took off vertically into the sky at an incredible speed and was very quickly lost from sight. Then almost immediately, Mark found himself back on Parsloes Avenue. He noticed that it had got a lot darker, and felt very unusual. He had no recollection of how he got back to the road, his last memory was of watching the object depart, and then a strange sensation of moving backward. Mark looked back to the patch of trees, but the object had not returned. Looking around he noticed a man in the park walking his dog. He ran up to the man and asked him if he had seen the object hovering over the trees as well, but he had not. The man gave him a strange look before continuing on his way. Mark decided to head for home. He was very confused, but knew that something strange must have taken place due to the sudden shift in lighting conditions. This was confirmed when he arrived home and he checked the time. The walk between Cornwallis Road and Ivyhouse Road used to take him about half an hour, but it was now 9 o’clock so there was about an hour he could not account for. His mother was worried and asked him why he had taken so long to come home, but Mark did not tell her about what had happened. Later in the evening, Mark found a scar behind his left ear, which hurt when he pressed on it. He had no recollection of how he had got this marking, but had never noticed it before so assumed it must have been linked to what had occurred. He also noticed a strange indescribable taste in his mouth. He stayed up for most of the night thinking about what took place. In the weeks following the incident, Mark had flashbacks in which he was looking down at the park from a height just above the tree-line. These flashbacks began about two days after the incident. They would occur both when he was awake, and also while he slept. They would feel more real than a normal dream, and he would wake up in the night feeling extremely anxious and frightened. The scar behind his ear hurt for a number of days before healing. The strange taste in his mouth was present for a number of weeks but finally went away. He no longer gets the flashbacks but still gets anxious at night and sleeps with the light on when he is alone. Prior to the incident Mark had no interest in UFOs at all. But afterwards he began to look into the subject, and the more he read, the more he realised that he may have experienced ET contact. He soon decided to get in touch with the late UFO researcher Tony Dodd. A while after this he came across the ACERN website and got in touch with contact specialist Mary Rodwell, who advised him of ways of coping with the fear he was feeling regarding the incident. Mark is sure that the object he saw was some kind of craft, and believes that it was extraterrestrial. He feels that it was too advanced, both in appearance and manoeuvring capabilities, to have been a secret military craft. He is still not aware of what took place during that missing time, and is interested in being regressed to see if he can remember any further details. Premonition On The Bus For a time Mark used to work a night shift at Asda in Dagenham. One early morning, when he was on his way back home on the bus, an incident occurred which suggests that he may have been protected from harm. He was sitting on the bus and nothing appeared out of the ordinary. Suddenly he heard a voice inside his head telling him to quickly move to the other side of the bus. This voice was not his own and he did not recognise it. However he did as the voice asked him. A moment later a brick came flying through the window next to where he had been sitting, shattering broken glass everywhere! It appeared that he had been saved from harm. Many contactees report having heightened senses or psychic abilities such as precognition. It is possible that Mark had a genuine premonition and was subconsciously aware that he was in imminent danger. He has not experienced any other premonitions, so this appears to be an isolated event. Perhaps rather than something coming directly from him, Mark was being protected by an external presence which made itself known. These are both possibilities which should be considered. 20th July 2004 Being Visitation It was eight years after the incident with the UFO. Mark and Sarah had now got married, had a daughter and moved into a house on Blake Avenue in Barking. Aerial map of Blake Avenue: 📷 The evening of 20th July was just like any other, there was no warning signs that something was about to take place. At 11.45pm he and Sarah went up to bed and soon dropped off to sleep. In the night Mark was awoken by a strange buzzing sound in his head. He was also had a strong feeling of a presence in the room. He glanced over at the clock and checked the time. It was 1.55am. Mark then looked around the room, and was shocked by what he saw. Most of the room was very dark as the curtains were drawn. But over by the window of the room was a tall glowing being. The being was glowing a golden yellow colour, lighting up part of the room around it. It was about 7 feet high and appeared to be floating a short way off the floor rather than standing on it. It had a slender humanoid form with a large head, essentially the shape of a tall Grey being. However it appeared to be completely made up of light and no specific features could be made out. There was a horrible odour in the room, the likes of which Mark had never smelt before, which he assumed must be coming from the entity. Mark felt sure that it was an extraterrestrial being of some kind, and was quite frightened by its presence. It did not seem familiar, but he sensed that it was interested in him. He was certain that he was fully awake and not dreaming. He immediately tried to wake up Sarah by shaking her but she would not stir, it was like she had been switched off. The being remained over by the window of the room for about six minutes. Then without warning, it started to slowly drift towards him across the room. When it reached the side of the bed it held out its arms like it was reaching out for him. At this point Mark blacked out. He does not know whether this was due to fear or something the being had done to him. The next thing he knew, it was the following morning. He told Sarah all about what had happened. She was accepting of what he told her and believed him. When he thought back to the incident, he felt that he had seen the being before, but he could not remember where or when. He also felt that something else may well have taken place after he lost consciousness. Contactees have often reported being visited by ET beings at night-time, and they have appeared as glowing entities many times before. Many aspects of this incident are classic signs that contact has taken place – the feeling of a presence in the room, the appearance of the being, the fact he could not wake his wife up, the way in which he blacked out when the being approached. The fact that he could move means that this visitation was not caused by sleep paralysis, and Mark was certain that it took place and was not just a vivid dream. He hopes that through hypnotic regression he may find out if anything else took place that night. Corridors When thinking or talking about the incidents that have taken place, Mark sometimes experiences a flashback of a location with dimly lit corridors and non-human entities moving around in them. This flashback is always the same like a recurring memory. These still take place and do frighten him, even after so many years. Mark feels that they are of something which has happened to him that have been blocked out, either intentionally or because of the trauma involved with the experience. It is possible that the flashback is a memory of being on board a craft at some point, maybe linked to the UFO encounter or the light being incident, or perhaps from another time all together. Conclusion As you can see Mark has had some truly fascinating experiences. It seems probable to me that after his close encounter with the cigar-shaped craft he was abducted, and that currently most of the details of this have been either repressed or blocked for a reason. It is unknown whether the being he saw many years after the experience with the craft was related to this experience or not, but it is certainly a possibility. Perhaps the being he saw was merely observing him or checking up on him. Alternatively he may have been taken on this occasion as well after he blacked out. There may have been other times that he cannot currently remember at all. It is possible that he has been a repeat contactee from an early age, although it does seem more likely that his contact was initiated when he encountered the craft. Perhaps this was by accident, and he was just there at the wrong place at the wrong time. Mark’s experience has similarities to the Travis Walton abduction case of November 1975. Just like Travis, Mark had approached the craft to get a better look at it, and it was then that contact appeared to take place. Another possibility is that the craft was there for Mark and its occupants were fully aware that he would approach it. We will probably never know either way. Although Mark still suffers from ongoing flashbacks and anxiety attacks, these appear to be related to the experiences discussed above, and there is little evidence to suggest that he is still experiencing contact, although this is not out of the question. I wish Mark all the best for the future and hope that in time he comes to terms with what has happened to him and gains more of an understanding. He has agreed to stay in touch and keep me updated on any further incidents which take place, so this report may be updated. I may also be arranging a hypnotic regression for Mark in the near future, if so any further details which are uncovered will be added here. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010
