- 04/09/2010 - Wombourne - Orange Domed UFO Sighting
Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 05/09/2010 Sighting Details The Jones family live in the area of Pool House Farm, Wombourne. At 8.30pm on the evening of 4th September 2010, Mr Jones came out of his house to collect something from the car. It was a calm dry evening but cloud cover blocked the stars from sight. As he walked down the drive a light in the sky caught his attention. He looked up and saw a glowing orange tall dome-shaped object crossing the sky. The object was very bright, with an even brighter yellow-orange glow coming from the base of it. Mr Jones estimates it was about half a mile from his position. It looked about the size of a double decker bus, and appeared to be quite low down, about 40 feet up. Mr Jones was shocked by the appearance of the object and the way in which it appeared to be flying on a controlled path across the sky. He called his partner and 3 children to also come and take a look at the object. It was moving in a Westerly direction, estimated at about 50-60 mph. As it headed on a straight course, it slowly increased in altitude. His wife ran back inside and grabbed a camera. She tried taking a photograph of the object but it wouldn’t come out due to the distance and the fact it was after dark. They all watched the object for about 4 minutes until it was obscured by cloud to the West. Aerial map of Pool House Farm housing development: 📷 Sighting Analysis Even though the witnesses felt the object could not have been a Chinese lantern due to its apparent size and straight flight path, I feel that this is more than likely the explanation for what was seen. As lanterns are launched after dark and are very bright, they can often appear larger than they actually are because there is no point of reference in the night sky. They often tend to drift on a straight course across the sky when they are caught in an air current, and will usually slowly gain in altitude because of the heated air inside them. The description of the object clearly matches a lantern, with a brighter glow coming from the centre of the base where the source of the flame was. Even though it felt like a calm night, there may well have been a slow current of air at the altitude the object was at which could have accounted for the movement observed. It did not perform any manoeuvres which would suggest it was under intelligent control. Therefore I feel quite certain that the object seen was a Chinese lantern. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010
- 1999 - Moore & Runcorn - White Orb & Flying Triangle Sightings
Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Originally forwarded from Richard Hall Last Updated: 07/09/2010 This report covers a stunning sighting of two different UFOs seen by taxi driver John Wall on the same night. It is highly likely that these two sightings were related. Each will be discussed in depth. There is also a possibility that John experienced missing time. The incident took place on a Sunday evening in 1999 (The exact date is not remembered) Moore - White Orb Sighting Back in 1999 John worked as a taxi driver in Warrington. He had finished his night shift ferrying people back and forth, and was on his way back to his home in Runcorn. It was a dry and relatively clear night with light cloud cover. He decided to drive through the village of Moore along Runcorn Road. He was driving along a straight stretch of road towards Sandymoor Housing Estate when he realised there was a light low down in the sky off to his left which he could see over the top of the hedgerow. Aerial map showing approximate location the sighting began: 📷 Photograph from Runcorn Road showing the fields over which the UFO was hovering: 📷 The light appeared to be a glowing object about 30-35 feet from the road and was bright white with a slight blue-ish tinge. It was about the size of a bowling ball, and was about 15-18 feet in the air. John slowed down the taxi to take a look at the object. He noted that it appeared to be keeping pace with his car, it slowed down as he had, and it remained at the same distance and height from his position. John stopped the taxi, and as he did so the object also stopped. He checked to see if any internal lights had been left on which could account for the UFO, but he soon eliminated this as a possibility. John continued driving forward, slowly at first, and the orb of light continued to follow. He thought that perhaps it was a surge of energy from the nearby electrified railway line, and could possibly be something natural such as ball lightning. However the railway line was 130 yards away, and this explanation did not account for the fact the object appeared to be tracking him. He accelerated and the object continued to follow alongside until he went under Daresbury Expressway. After the underpass he checked for the light but could no longer see it, so he continued his drive to Runcorn. Aerial map showing the route over which the UFO followed the witness: 📷 Runcorn - Flying Triangle Sighting About 12-15 minutes later, John was nearing his home in Runcorn. His route home took him past the car park at Runcorn East railway station. Aerial map showing location of orb sighting (A), and Runcorn East Railway Station (B): 📷 As he drove past it, he suddenly realised that there were some lights above him to his right. He looked out of the driver side window up into the sky and was astounded by what he saw. There about 300 feet up was what looked like a huge black or dark metallic triangular shaped craft! Around the underside of the three edges were rows of small evenly spaced dark red and dark green lights. Although there were no obvious markings on the body of the craft, John says that there was a differing shape to the base in some way, but he did not get enough time to study this in detail. The craft was moving very slowly, John estimates about 5-10 mph but this was hard to judge. Each side appeared to be about 600-700 feet in length. Witness drawing of the Flying Triangle: 📷 Photograph of the car park of Runcorn East Railway Station over which the FT was seen: 📷 John immediately knew it was not a conventional aircraft of any kind – it was much too big and was also completely silent. He wanted to get a better look at the object, so he stopped the car and tried to get out, but as it was dark he fumbled with the door handle. During this time the triangle continued to move slowly forwards. John managed to grab a hold of the handle. At this moment the triangle appeared to slightly increase in speed, and then suddenly vanished from sight. John got out of the car and stared up into the sky wondering where the object had gone and what it could have been. If the object had actually massively increased in acceleration rather than simply vanished, then the speed involved would be absolutely incredible. John waited a while but realised the object was probably not going to come back, so in the end he got back in the taxi and drove the remainder of his journey home. Because of the alarming nature of the incident, John did not tell anyone of the incident for quite a while afterwards, even his wife. He has since shared the experience with her and other close family, but does not talk about it with many people because of the ridicule factor. Time Discrepancies? John gets the feeling that he made a mistake regarding the time of the two sightings. He assumed the time was about 2.30am when he saw the glowing orb. His shift had ended and this is the expected time that it would have been, although he doesn’t remember looking at the clock during this sighting. After the Flying Triangle had departed, John checked the time and it was 4.30am. If the orb sighting really did occur around 2.30am, then the clock was now much further forward than it should have been. Sadly John did not check the time until after the FT, so he may well have misjudged the time when the orb sighting took place. Missing time often occurs when contact takes place, as the ETs have a way of blocking out memories so the clock appears to jump forward. John is not currently aware of any interaction which took place other than the orb following his car. He also feels that if there had been any contact, he would not remember the orb sighting at all. However quite a number of contact cases have both started and finished with a UFO sighting, it is only the details in between which tend to be blocked out. Could the orb have been some kind of scouting craft which then led to John being taken by the Flying Triangle craft? This is a possibility, but does seem unlikely. Usually the individual would have an inkling that something else had taken place or feel strange in some way, but John felt completely fine throughout the incident. Conclusion This is an absolutely amazing incident which I believe involved two intelligently controlled advanced objects/craft. The fact that the glowing orb matched the speed of John’s car, even when he brought it to a halt, cannot be just coincidence. The object followed him for quite a distance, and was clearly matching his speed throughout. This implies that it was under intelligent control and specifically interested in him/his vehicle for whatever reason. It also means that the object could not have been a lantern/LED balloon or ball lightning. The orb appeared to be quite small in size, so if it was a genuine craft it can be assumed that it was probably unmanned - possibly being used for observation purposes. The second sighting was of a “classic” Flying Triangle craft. Large black triangular shaped UFOs with multi-coloured lighting along each side have often been reported all around the world (In other cases the craft have a small light at each corner and a larger central light). It is very unlikely to have been an inflatable or model of some kind. John even speculated that it could have been some kind of hologram, but for what reason would anyone display this in the middle of the night? Also the object definitely appeared to be a solid structure. Also if it were an inflatable or model it would not have suddenly vanished from the area. It seems very likely to me that the two sightings were related in some way. They were in the same local area and appeared to be only 15 minutes apart (ignoring the possible missing time). Perhaps the glowing orb was in communication with the FT and relating details to it. Perhaps the orb was actually the FT but under a completely different form. On the third night of the infamous Rendlesham Forest incident a small glowing orb suddenly transformed into a much larger solid craft in front of many witnesses, could this have been something similar? I have already covered the possibility that John experienced contact during the proceedings of the incident. At the moment we have no way of knowing for sure, unless John recovers further memories of the incident, possibly through hypnotic regression. If any further details come to light they will be added to this report. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010
- July/August 1983/84 - Abergavenny, Wales - Saucer Sighting
Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Originally forwarded by Richard Hall Last Updated: 07/09/2010 Most sightings received by Birmingham UFO Group are merely of distant objects or lights in the sky. This is not really surprising as UFOs rarely appear in close proximity to people, they are essentially covert in operation. However occasionally a sighting takes place where a UFO is clearly seen and where an advanced craft is the most likely explanation. This is one such sighting, which took place in Abergavenny, Wales in the early 1980s. Sighting Details The witness Paul Griffiths, cannot remember the exact date of the incident but believes it to be either July or August of 1983 or 84. At the time Paul was living with his parents in a house on St Marys Road. He awoke about 6.30am to use the bathroom. He came back through to his bedroom and sat down on the edge of his bed and looked out of the window. It was a bright and clear morning and the sun had come up. The view from his window overlooked some nearby housing, beyond which was the nearby Bailey Park to the West. Old photograph taken by the witness showing the view out of the window: 📷 Suddenly he noticed something enter the right of his line of sight. There was a strange looking object which appeared to be over some trees in Bailey Park, about 200 yards from his location. At first he thought it was a conventional aircraft of some kind, but very shortly realised it was something else entirely. His glace quickly turned into a wide eyed stare! There in the sky over the park was what looked like a dark metallic grey coloured saucer-shaped craft. The craft was divided into a shallow base section and a deeper upper section. At the division was a narrow flat band. This band had black rectangular slats in it. The band appeared to be rotating around the object in an anti-clockwise direction. There were no other markings or lights on the craft. Paul estimates the craft was about the size of a large saloon car. It appeared to be just above the height of the trees, about 40 feet high. Witness drawing of the UFO with notes: 📷 Photograph of the main entrance to Bailey Park. The UFO was first seen hovering over the trees in this photo: 📷 The UFO was moving in a South Easterly direction at a slow speed, about 5 mph. This movement was constant and it remained at a level altitude. The central band was rotating at the same speed the craft was moving at, and Paul wondered if this was something to do with its propulsion. He was amazed at what he was witnessing. He jumped up off the bed so he was right next to the window, but did not open it. He thought about taking a photograph but realised there was no film in his camera. At the time Paul was quite into photography, but did not keep exposed film in the camera for extended periods as he was aware it could be damaged. He tried calling his parents to come and see also, but they did not wake up. Paul watched the craft for about 20-30 seconds until it disappeared to the left of his vision behind some trees. Aerial map showing the route of the UFO and location of the witness: 📷 After the sighting he felt privileged to have seen what he did, and believed that it was a genuine alien craft. Over the next few days he checked the TV and newspapers for any reports of the UFO from other people but he did not see anything. He feels that even though it took place quite early in the morning, there must have been other witnesses due to the object. In 2007, Paul decided to post his sighting on the MUFON website. He received an E-Mail back expressing interest in his sighting and in meeting up with him, but after this nothing else became of it. Sighting Analysis This is a very impressive sighting due to the appearance of the object and the clarity of the sighting. The object was a “classic” flying saucer shape. It was obviously not a conventional aircraft or helicopter of any kind. There is a possibility that it was a remote controlled model someone had made which was being flown over the park, but this seems unlikely. The object seemed too large to be a model, and even if it was, why would its owner have been flying it so early in the morning? This particular explanation does not make sense to me, and I feel it can be disregarded. It is unlikely the object was an inflatable of some kind because of the rotating band around the centre, general structured appearance and the fact it was flying on a level course. It certainly appeared like it was under power, and even though it did not perform any obviously intelligent manoeuvres, it did not look like it was merely drifting in an air current. Could it have been a secret advanced military craft. As no extraterrestrial beings were seen this cannot be completely ruled out, however if it was I find it very unlikely the military would fly it at low altitude over a populated area in plain sight. This would be completely illogical, so again this explanation I feel can be disregarded. I feel that after looking at all the possibilities, the most likely explanation is that the object was exactly what the witness assumed it was – an advanced craft of extraterrestrial origin. What it was doing in the skies over Abergavenny that morning we will probably never know. It seems likely there may have been other witnesses. If you are reading this report and feel you too saw this UFO, please get in touch. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010
- Thirsk Contact Case - Being, Paralysis, Body Markings, Paranormal Activity
Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Last Updated: 08/09/2010 Introduction Daryl Winston (name changed for privacy reasons) lives in Thirsk. He initially decided to contact Nick Pope about his experiences. Nick often hands over contact related cases to me for investigation, so forwarded Daryl to me. Since a young age Daryl has had strange experiences which he believes could be linked with alien abduction. This report will cover these experiences in depth and discuss the possibility that contact is taking place. Being Watched For many years Daryl has felt like he is constantly being observed by an unknown presence. This feeling becomes more obvious when he is alone and not distracted. It is worse at night, and Daryl often finds it very hard to get to sleep. He often feels like something is going to come and get him during the night, and this has led to him being afraid of the dark. He always closes his curtains, and feels that if he opens them there will be something outside staring in at him. While he is in bed he gets easily spooked by strange noises around the house, and will often put a fan on in his bedroom to drown out any other sounds. Contactees often feel like they are being observed, and it is possible that they subconsciously sense the presence of the ETs watching over them as they go about their life. Many contactees have a fear of the dark. This is usually down to the fact that they are aware that they have been taken during the night-time, so whenever it is dark and they are alone they feel very uncomfortable. Paralysis Incidents Since an early age, but more regularly during the last few years, Daryl has experienced paralysis during the night. This occurs sporadically, but will usually happen around 3am in the morning. He awakens to find that he cannot move. When he tries to shout for help from his girlfriend lying next to him, nothing comes out. These incidents seem to last only a short moment, but afterwards when he checks the clock it always says 4.30am. He has noticed that this time appears to be repeating time and time again, and he never has any recollection of where the last 90 minutes have gone. After these experiences, Daryl feels like his body is drained of energy. He has experienced this at numerous different properties as well as his current address. In late May 2010 one particular incident would absolutely terrify him. He awoke in the night much like usual, and once more found he could not move. However he then began to lift vertically off the bed and drift across the room in the air! As he went past the base of the bed he saw a shadowy short being below him. He could not make out any details of this being, it just seemed to be watching him as he moved by. He floated towards the open window feet first and his lower legs actually went outside. At this point he blacked out. He then came round and found he was back in his bed. He felt like he had gone somewhere but he could not remember anything else taking place. Daryl informs me that both of his parents have also had similar paralysis experiences. These experiences could well be due to the condition known as sleep paralysis and nothing to do with ET contact. Some of the things Daryl has spoken of do seem to fit in with side effects of this condition. However I do find the floating experience to be very interesting indeed. I have not heard of anyone with sleep paralysis actually experiencing themselves float across the room and partially out of the window. It is possible to get a lifting or sinking sensation during sleep paralysis but Daryl had his eyes open and was convinced he was actually floating. It is also interesting that on this occasion he also saw what appeared to be a short humanoid figure near the base of his bed. Contactees have often reported being visited by ET beings, who often stand around the bed of the individual staring down at them. Perhaps it is a mix of both – it is possible that Daryl suffers from sleep paralysis but could also be a contactee. However I feel that this scenario is unlikely. Contact also often runs through generations of a family blood line. It is not really known why, but it seems probable that the ETs are interested in our genetics and how they change over different generations. It is interesting to note that Daryl’s mother has also had similar experiences. Could it be that both Daryl and his mother are contactees? Body Markings One of the aspects of Daryl’s experiences which is the most intriguing is the various markings he has found upon his body on numerous occasions. One morning when he was 12-13 years old, he awoke to find strange red welts across his back which almost looked like scratch marks from a wild animal. His mother was the first to see the markings and was quite concerned about where they had come from. The skin was not broken or bleeding. The markings left behind stars which still exist today. Photograph of Daryl's back with the various scars indicated: 📷 Quite regularly Daryl also finds lines of dots on the back of one of his lower legs (He is not currently sure whether it is the same leg every time or not). He believes these have appeared on him since at least 2004 if not earlier. These lines are always perfectly straight, though the number of dots varies. The dots are quite small, several mm across. They are not raised and are flat on the skin, and a red sore colour. They tend to fade away within a day. Daryl is certain that these markings have not been caused by insect bites or scratches. He has not done so before, but he says that if any markings reappear on him he will take a photograph of them. Recently he found another long red scratch-like marking at the base of his neck. This marking appears to have a shorter line in the opposing direction towards the left hand side. Until he found it when looking in a mirror, Daryl had no idea this was here, and cannot think of anything which could be responsible for it. The marking does not look artificial, and it is possible that Daryl simply scratched himself on something without being aware, but considering the other markings which have appeared on him this could still be relevant. Photograph of the scratch-like marking on Daryl’s neck: 📷 These markings, especially the lines of dots, are very interesting indeed. There does not appear to be an easy explanation for them, and they may well be physical evidence that Daryl is an abductee. If the scratch-like welts were caused by creases in the bed clothes or an allergic reaction, surely they would occur constantly and it would be obvious this is what they were. Could these markings have been caused by instruments used on him during contact experiences that he is not yet aware of? In most contact cases the individual’s conscious mind is cleared so they do not remember what has taken place. Blood Stains Roughly every few months Daryl finds small specks of blood on his pillow case. He has no idea where this comes from, and is not prone to nosebleeds. There is never any sign that his nose or ears have been bleeding. Unexplained blood stains are one of the many signs that suggest contact may be taking place. This blood could be from temporary wounds inflicted by instruments used on him during contact experiences, which by morning have healed up. Unexplained Sounds Daryl regularly hears strange buzzing or ringing noises in his head while he is lying down in bed. These too can be a side effect of sleep paralysis, however Daryl says that he gets these at other times, and they do not appear related to his paralysis incidents. Contactees often report hearing similar sounds to these, and it is possible that these sounds are heard during ET scanning procedures or when a craft/ETs are in close proximity. However there is the possibility that the noises are a down to a medical condition such as tinnitus, and completely unrelated to contact. Cat’s Senses Daryl has a pet cat which often comes into his room during the night. Sometimes it stares at him in a very strange way, and in the end he will shoo the cat away as it starts to creep him out. Another strange thing which occurs from time to time is that lots of cats from the neighbourhood will sometimes congregate outside the house. There does not appear to be any particular reason for them to do this. It is widely believed that cat’s have heightened senses and can detect things which we usually cannot. Could these cats be sensing that Daryl is different in some way? Other Observations Daryl is drawn to the night sky and the stars, and quite often sits out staring up at them. He feels that when he does this he may see a UFO. Sometimes he gets a strange taste in his mouth which remains for at least a day. He cannot describe this taste, but when it occurs he tries to get rid of it by gargling mouthwash, although this does not seem to fully work. Daryl feels like he should be doing something, helping people in some way, but he is currently not aware of exactly how or why. All of these things are possible signs that he is a contactee. Obviously none of them prove this beyond doubt, but they are still interesting to note in addition to his other experiences. Conclusion Daryl has certainly had some interesting experiences. As he currently has no clear recollections of being aboard a craft and seeing alien beings I cannot say whether or not he is a contactee to any degree of certainty. It is possible that his experiences have other explanations such as sleep paralysis and phobias. However some of the things he has mentioned are intriguing and do perhaps point towards contact taking place. I hope to speak with Daryl’s mother soon to hear about her own experiences and what she makes of them. If I get the chance to do this I will add the findings to this report. Also Daryl has expressed the wish to be hypnotically regressed to see if there are any hidden memories surrounding some of his more unusual experiences. I hope to get this arranged for him in the near future. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010
- UK Contactee Case - Beings, UFO Photographs & Video, Orbs, Psychic Abilities, Paranormal Activity
Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Last Updated: 17/09/2010 For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used, and specific locations and dates ommited Introduction Steve has experienced a number of strange events throughout his life, right back to his childhood. These events have puzzled him for many years, and nobody has been able to give him a valid explanation for them. He has looked into a number of different things which could be the cause of them, and has recently read into the abduction phenomena. As he looked into this subject, he felt very uneasy and a number of memories from his earlier years came back to him. Many of the things which he has experienced appear to match those reported by other contactees. Steve is a very cautious man, and does not accept anythig at face value. He has looked into the UFO subject and believes that some UFOs are extraterrestrial in origin, and that they have been here for thousands. However he is not yet convinced that he is personally experiencing contact or has done so in the past. But it is very interesting to see the correlations between his experiences and those commonly reported with contact. Panic Attacks When Steve was young he began to suffer from anxiety and panic attacks. These would occur out of the blue, and there was no clear reason for them. Steve was taken to see both doctors and psychiatrists but they could find the source of the attacks. However they did find that he was psychologically fine and not in any way metally impaired. In the end he was sent to a childrens home for kids with emotional issues. Years later when he left this home, he was mostly ok, but would still occassionally find himself in situations where he would suffer from intense panic for no apparent reason. Steve put this down to some kind of disorder and tried to get on with his life as best he could. Premonitions? Occassionally Steve would be aware of “seeing” things before they took place. From time to time he would think of something involving someone and soon afterwards they would bring it up in conversation. Steve noted that this seemed to happen more during periods of high stress. He is not completely convincved that it was anything more than just coincedence, but it did seem unusual to him. In 1985 Steve was doing some decorating around his girlfriend's mother's house. He was alone in the house and was painting the first floor landing. All of a sudden he had a vision of a calendar showing the month of February. Then he saw a pole, then flames with carnage all around - bodies of people, parts of seats, sponge and fire falling from the air. This vision only lasted a brief moment, and he carried on decorating thinking it had just been a day dream. That evening he was round his father's house and the news was on TV. A report came on about an air crash, flight Iberia 727 at Monte Oiz in Spain. The aircraft was on approach to Bilbao Airport, and accidentally struck the pole of a TV antenna on top of a mountain, crashing and killing all on board! It appears that Steve had a premonition about this disaster and knew it was due to take place. You can read further details about this air crash at the following address: http://aviation-safety.net/database/record.php?id=19850219-1 Ghostly Apparition At some point after his premonition of the aircraft crash, Steve went for a meeting with a lecturer of parapsychology and his partner in Leicester. While he was there with them, the lady kept on looking behind the sofa Steve was sitting on, as if she could sense or see something there. Steve turned round to look and saw an old gentleman standing behind the sofa. The man spoke directly to Steve and told him that he was the lady's father. Steve told the lady of the old man's presence, and she appeared really pleased. Her father had passed away a number of years previously. This sighting of what appeared to be a ghost is yet more evidence that Steve has heightened senses, which could well have been gained through contact experiences. The Anxiety Returns Many years later, when Steve was grown up, the panic attacks and anxiety began to manifest again. He once more went to see doctors and psychologists about his condition. He also attended therapy sessions. He tried taking pills and medicines but these just made him feel worse. Two doctors diagnosed chronic anxiety and depression, whereas a specialist diagnosed post traumatic stress disorder. They claimed that the attacks were down to something which had happened in his childhood, but neither they nor he could link it to a specific known event or events. A Visitation Soon after the panic attacks returned, Steve began to remember things from his childhood. He remembered both unusual events which had taken place, and also strange “dreams” he had experienced when younger. Some of these experiences seemed very real to him, and he wondered if they had really taken place or not. Steve has recurring memories of a “dream” he had shortly before his anxiety began as a child. In this dream, he awoke in the night to see a number of beings around his bed. There was also a floating silver sphere, about 8-9 inches in diameter. He could not see the figures clearly they were just shadows standing close to the bed. Steve has no idea wether anything else took place. He remembers running to his parent’s room, but says that after that night things were never really the same again. Since reading into the types of ET beings seen in contact cases, Steve feels that the being to the left of the bed was a very tall female Nordic-type being with long blonde hair. The silver sphere was floating behind her right shoulder. To the right of the bed he feels that there were two smaller grey coloured beings. He is not sure if this is just his imagination, but he feels that through reading about these beings he may have unlocked further memories about the incident. For some reason when he thinks back to this experience, he feels that the female and grey beings are friendly, but he is absolutely terrified of the silver sphere. He also feels that he may have changed rooms with his dad some point after the incident because he was frightened to go to sleep, but he does not know this for definate as it happened so long ago. Visitations by shadowy beings in the night are a common aspect of contact, and have been reported many times before. However there are other things which could possibly explain the incident. Perhaps it was nothing more than a vivid dream. Or maybe it was linked with sleep paralysis. People undergoing this often report feeling a presence in the room or seeing beings around their bed. However, if the beings that Steve saw really were as he now remembers, then this may well be a genuine contact experience, one which perhaps changed his life in many ways from that point onward. Many contactees have reported seeing both Nordic and Grey-type beings at once, and there is evidence to suggest that these species are either working together or related to one another in some way. Steve regularly has dreams of flying over things, even though he has never been on an aeroplane. Again this is commonly reported by contactees, so is another point to consider. Could he be remembering something he has seen while on board craft? The White Orb A couple of days after Steve’s dad passed away, he was sitting in the living room of his house with his pet dog and watching late night TV. Suddenly the dog began whining, Steve looked over at it, and it was staring up at the ceiling. When he looked up he saw what looked like a small orb of glowing white energy. The orb was quite close to the ceiling though not touching it, and was a few inches in diameter. Steve was puzzled by it and wondered what it could possibly be. He is certain it was not a reflection of light on the ceiling from an unknown object. At first the orb was stationary. Steve and his dog both stared up at it for a couple of minutes. Then suddenly it began to move slowly towards the front door of the house. It passed through the door and was lost from sight. As it went, Steve noted that the dog kept watch on it until it had gone, so it was clearly a real event and not just his imagination. Cold Patch A few nights after the white orb incident, Steve was asleep in his bedroom, when he was awoken by the dog whining in the middle of the night. He got out of bed and went to the living room where the dog would usually sleep. The dog was sitting in the middle of the room and whining loudly. This is something it had never done before, so Steve knew that something was wrong. He walked over to comfort the dog, and as he got close he felt the temperature of the air drop dramatically. The dog appeared to be surrounded in a small patch of very cold clammy air. After a moment, this seemed to fade away and the temperature returned to normal. The dog seemed to settle back down and Steve returned to bed. Steve wonders if both this and the white orb were some kind of ghostly activity, and were signs that his father was still present in the house for a short time. Animals are widely believed to have high senses which allow them to detect unusual acgtivity. This could be a possibility, but it is also possible that these vents were linked with ET contact. Many contactees, including those I have investigated, have reported unusual paranormal activity around their home and sightings of glowing orbs. It is also possible that through contact Steve had gained heightened senses (either directly or indirectly), and it was due to this that he was able to see and detect these events. Glowing UFOs Sighting A couple of evenings after the incident with the cold air, Steve was out walking his dog around a local reservoir that he regularly likes to visit. He looked up into the night sky, and was astounded to see two glowing white objects alongside one another. As he watched they suddenly both shot straight upwards at a tremendous speed and were lost from sight. Steve was convinced that the objects had not been meteorites, as they were stationary to begin with, and besides this meteorites fly across the skyline, not straight up. The objects had moved much too fast to have been helicopters. Phobias Steve has a number of phobias which make him feel very uncomfortable. He is frightened of being held down while in a chair at the dentist or hairdressers. He is also scared of needles, and enclosed spaces such as elevators or corridors. All of these phobias are commonly reported by contactees. It is believed that these things remind them of events which have taken place during contact, such as the medical examinations often carried out by the ETs during abduction experiences. As with other things Steve has experienced, these fears do not prove he is a contactee, but should certainly be taken into consideration. Black UFO Sighting In early June 2010, Steve had another UFO sighting. He was once again out at the reservoir where he had seen the two glowing UFOs. It was evening time at sunset. He looked up into the sky and saw a strange black object floating in the air. At first he thought it must be a bin-bag or lantern drifing in the wind. It was an odd shape and was rotating in a clockwise direction continuously. There was a strong breeze blowing, yet the object maintained its position in the sky. Steve had his camera on him to take some landscape photographs, so decided to snap a couple of pictures of the object. First photograph of the UFO, showing the unusual shape of the object: 📷 Zoom image of the UFO: 📷 Zoom image of the UFO with edge find: 📷 Second photograph, showing the rotation of the UFO: 📷 Zoom image of the UFO (2nd photo): 📷 Zoom image of the UFO with edge find (2nd photo): 📷 Soon after taking the photographs, something very unusual took place. It looked as if a lump pushed out from the right hand side of the object, and from it emerged a second similar looking object. So now there were two objects next to each other. Even more bizarrely, the new object was rotating anti-clockwise, the opposite direction to the initial object. As he watched, the two objects then moved together back into one. Then a moment later, they blinked out in front of his eyes. There was nowhere for the object to have gone, it had vanished without trace! Soon afterwards, Steve took a landscape shot using a long distance lens. Later when he checked his photographs he saw what he believes could be the same object but much further away from his position. If it is the same object, then this suggests that instead of vanishing it may have moved extremely fast, and then stopped again at a different location. Or perhaps it had used some kind of cloaking ability before moving, and had then for whatever reason de-cloaked again. However there is the possibility it is something completely mundane such as an insect flying past the camera lens. Steve says he often has to airbrush insects out of his photographs taken at the reservoir, but that this looks different and like it is an object in the distance rather than close to the camera. Landscape photograph, showing the area of the sky where the UFO was initially (A), and the possible distant object (B): 📷 Zoom image of the Area B object: 📷 Zoom image of the Area B object with edge find: 📷 This is a very unsual sighting indeed. Many aspects of it point towards it being of something out of the ordinary. It was clearly not a conventional aircraft of any kind. It could not have been a strange shaped remote controlled model, as it would not have been able to suddenly vanish, plus the duplication into two objects and then re-merge into one would have been extremely difficult to pull off. As you can see from the photographs, the object appears opaque black in colour, and has a strange curved shape, which straigtens out towards a more flattened edge. Im some ways it is a bit similar to the shape of a Chinese lantern viewed side on, although due to the strange behaviour exhibited by the object I feel this explanation can be ruled out. There are a number of reasons why it is unlikely to have been one or more inflatables/balloons. Firstly it was windy weather conditions - if it was drifting in the air, then it would not have retained its position in the sky for the length of time that it did. It appears that the object was either not affected by the wind or was powered in some way. You may feeel that when the object duplicated, the second object could just have been behind or next to the initial object and had then temporarily dettached. This is a possibility, though it would not explain why the second object was rotating in the opposite direction to the first, or how it then became reattached to the first object and appeared to once again merge with it. Also if the object was anything mundane, it would not have suddenly vanished from sight. As you can see from the photographs, the object was clearly visible and there was only light high altitude cloud at the time, so it is not possible that the object simply disappeared into the distance or into the clouds. Steve says it was simply there one moment, and gone the next. The final photograph which shows an unidentified dark object much further away adds another level of mystery to the sighting. We have no way of knowing if it really was the same object, but Steve feels that it may well have been. It is interesting to note that Steve has had two UFO sightings around the same location, and that location is a reservoir. It is believed by some that UFOs are seen more regularly around reservoirs or other bodies of water. The reason for this is not currently known; perhaps they collect water for their own usage. Neither of Steve’s experiences involved any direct interaction with either himself or the surroundings. This incident reminds me of another sighting I have recently investigated. The object appears quite similar to a UFO seen over Dudley Castle on 12th March 2010. There is a seperate case report which covers this incident. Orange Orb Sighting In early August 2010 Steve visited a friend who lives close to East Midlands airport. At about 10pm he was about to leave and they were chatting on the front door step of his friend's house. His friend noticed a light in the sky and pointed it out to Steve. It was a glowing orange object. Steve said that it must be a Chinese lantern. It was drifting alongside the approach to the airport. A large yellow DHL freighter came in on the approach. At this point Steve started to reconsider his previous explanation. The orange light looked at least half as big as the aircraft. As it got closer it appeared like a large ball of flame with a rotating square/triangle shape in the middle just visible inside the glow. The plane flew past the object and landed at the airport. A moment later the object faded away into the distance. Even though the object had a strange appearance and seemed quite large in size, I still feel that a lantern may have been the explanation for it. It did not display any manouvres which would suggest intelligence, and the colour and shape fits with a lantern. It is often hard to tell the size of Chinese lanterns because they are so bright - they can often appear much larger than they in fact are. However it is strange that the centre appeared to be rotating, perhaps this was an illusion caused by the flame flickering. White Orb Sighting At 10pm on 16th September 2010 Steve was in his office and on the phone to the same friend who he had witnessed the orange orb with. He looked out of the window and noticed a bright white light in the direction of Leicester. At first he thought it was a bright star appearing low in the sky. After a few minutes a small aircraft appeared, flying between 5000-8000 feet, coming from the direction of Leicester. As the aircraft approached the position of the bright star, all of a sudden the "star" increased in altitude extremely fast and then stopped again. Steve immediately realised it was not a star, but was a glowing unidentified object. Once the aircraft had gone past, it then dropped back down to where it had originally been positioned! At this point Steve grabbed his camera and took several photographs of the object. When he checked the photos he found that most of them turned out blurred due to camera motion: 📷 📷 📷 The third shot is odd, and has a reddish tinge to it. However the last photo Steve took came out the clearest, and shows the surroundings as well as the UFO. 📷 Below is a zoomed view of the UFO taken from this final photo: 📷 After taking the photographs, Steve continued to watch the object for about 15 minutes, during which time it remained stationary. He also decided to take some video footage of the object. Video of the white orb (which appears pale blue on zoom). The audio can be ignored, it is just the TV and Steve speaking with his friend, and is not related to what's on camera: After a while Steve had to go out. He returned at 11.30pm and checked again but the object was no longer there. This is a fascinating sighting of a glowing object seemingly under intelligent control. The fact that it moved out of the way of the aircraft and then moved back to where it had been, and did so at a sudden extremely fast speed is impressive. These manouvres would not have been possible with a helicopter or brightly lit remote controlled model, and it clearly wasn't an LED balloon or lit inflatable object. Due to the movement exhibited I feel this may well have been a genuine sighting of an advanced ET craft. A Family Connection? Steve does not wish me to reveal the details within this report, but he has informed me that his mother has also had experiences which could point towards her too being a contactee. Contact often runs through numerous generations of a family. The reason for this is not really known, althought there are numerous theories. Perhaps the ETs wish to explore how genetics changes down the family bloodline. Conclusion Even though Steve does not currently have any concious memories of actually being taken aboard craft, this case is none the less extremely interesting. He has had numerous sightings of strange aerial objects, two of which have been photographed. He experiences ongoing panic attacks and unusual phobias for which he currently has no valid explanation. He has had recurring dreams of incidents which appear to involve visitation by unidentified beings. He has seen and felt unusual paranormal activity in his home, activity which his pet dog has also been aware of. All of these aspects suggest that he may be a contactee, one who at present has not fully uncovered all that has happened to him. I spoke with Steve about the possibility of hypnotic regression, but due to his current state of mind and warnings he received from his doctors, this is not something he currently wishes to pursue. I hope that over time Steve finds the answers he is searching for and gains more of an understanding of what has happened to him. I would also like to personally thank him for sharing the information discussed throughout this report. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010
- 21/09/2010 - Gillingham - White Orbs Sighting
Birmingham UFO Group Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 28/09/2010 Many sightings of UFOs that take place after dark are just of anomalous glowing unidentified lights. In such incidents it is hard to say what the object is going on appearance alone, other aspects of the sighting such as movement pattern becomes much more important. In this particular case, the movement of the objects is the most impressive aspect. Sighting Details It was around 9.00pm on 21st September 2010. Paul, Jason and Jason's two sons had been to Cantebury for the day for football training. They were on their way back to London. Jason was driving the car, and Paul was in the passenger seat. They were driving along the M2 motorway. It was a clear and still night and the stars could be seen overhead. As the car approached the Medway services near Gillingham, Kent, Paul noticed two bright white orbs of light in the sky directly in front of them to the North East East. He watched for a moment before alerting the others in the car to their presence. Aerial map showing the stretch of motorway along which the sighting took place: 📷 He continued to watch the lights, which were hovering in the sky and slowly moving towards and away from each other. They appeared to be a number of miles away from their location and about 500-600 feet high. Initially Paul thought they must be helicopters. After about 2 minutes one of the lights suddenly dimmed in brightness and then greatly increased in acceleration and flew away to the North West towards London at an extremely fast speed. It was only visible for several seconds before it had gone out of sight! A few seconds later the remaining object performed the same manoeuvre, but this time flew away to the North towards Essex. Due to the movement observed, Paul was immediately certain that the objects had not been helicopters and must have been something else entirely. Sighting Analysis Despite the fact the UFOs were only seen at a distance and no discernable shape could be made out, this is an impressive sighting due to the movement pattern observed. As Paul rightly points out, when the objects left the area they did so at a speed far greater than helicopters could move at. The fact the objects were more or less stationary for up to two minutes before means they cannot have been conventional aircraft either. They obviously moved far too fast to have been something else such as LED balloons or remote controlled models. A natural explanation such as ball lightning is also extremely unlikely in this case. I feel that due to the movement seen, there is certainly a possibility that this was a sighting of two advanced craft, possibly of extraterrestrial origin. If what was seen was two secret military craft or drones, it is unlikely they would have been flown in such a public location, in full view of anyone driving along the M2 motorway at that time. - 10/09/2010 - Springfield - Flying Triangles Sighting
Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 29/09/2010 This report covers an unusual sighting of four triangular shaped objects which were observed over the Birmingham area in early September 2010. Sighting Details At 8pm on the evening of 20th September 2010, Simon and Judith (Names changed for privacy reasons) were watching TV in their home on Brook Lane, Springfield, Birmingham. It was a clear evening and the sun had set. The curtains of the living room were still open. Simon happened to glance through the window a moment. He saw some glowing lights in the sky to the South. He pointed it out to Judith and they both took a closer look. Aerial map of Brook Lane: 📷 They saw a flattened triangular shaped object, like a diamond cut in half. Along each of the edges were what looked like red, white and blue lights. The blue and white lights were constant, where as the red ones appeared to be flickering. The main body of the object appeared dark. There was a glowing light at the base of the object which was constantly bright. It was hard to judge exactly how large it was, but it appeared sizeable. The object was moving on a straight course. They watched it until it had flown out of sight. Soon afterwards a second identical object appeared, heading on the same path as the first. Over the next 5 minutes, four identical objects had been seen, all travelling in the same direction, and all spaced the same distance apart. The witnesses wondered what the objects could be and were fascinated by them. Sighting Analysis This is an interesting sighting and one which it is hard to pin down an explanation for. The objects certainly had an unusual appearance, and did not look like conventional aircraft or balloons. The fact there were four of them means they were unlikely to be radio controlled models of some kind. They were clearly not typical Chinese lanterns, as these tend to appear as glowing orange/yellow orbs of light. However the movement pattern of the objects and the fact they appeared one at a time suggests that they could have been inflatables drifting in an air current which had been launched from somewhere just as lanterns often are. Perhaps the objects were LED balloons. These are balloons which come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and are electronically lit by one or more LEDs. This seems like a possible explanation for the strange objects, but it is by no means a definite. It is feasible that the objects were under control, but they did not display any manoeuvres which would definitely suggest intelligence. This sighting will probably remain a mystery. If you have any information about what these objects could have been, please get in touch. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010
- November 1994/95 - Cumbernauld - Domed Disc Sighting
Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Originally forwarded from Richard Hall Last Updated: 03/10/2010 Introduction Out of the myriad of shapes that UFOs can appear in, the flying saucer is still the most widely recognised. This report covers a stunning close encounter of one such craft which took place in the mid 1990’s in Cumbernauld, Glasgow, Scotland. Cumbernauld is within the “Falkirk Triangle”, a known UFO hot spot which also includes Bonnybridge, a town widely recognised for its ongoing UFO activity. Sighting Details It was about 7.45pm on an evening in November 1994/95 (Exact date unknown). It was a still but cold evening, with scattered cloud through which some stars could be made out. Tony was in his second floor apartment on Pine Road, Abronhill, watching TV. The apartment had a full length window, giving a wide angled view over the local area. Aerial map showing sighting location: 📷 Tony’s views on UFOs and extraterrestrials were about to be changed forever. Suddenly a large glowing white object came over the roof of the apartment. Tony immediately jumped to his feet to see what was going on. The object was about 150 feet up. When he first viewed it, he was looking up at it at a sharp angle, so it appeared circular in shape. The entire object was glowing a burning white, no marking or other details could be made out. Tony estimates it was 25-30 feet in diameter. The object was moving on a level course to the South at about 40 mph. Photograph from the sighting location in the direction the UFO was heading in: 📷 As the UFO moved further away, Tony began to see it for what it truly was – a saucer-shaped craft with a dome protruding from a curved disc. Due to the cold temperature, it was a quiet night, and he did not see anyone else around in the vicinity of his home. However, as the UFO flew right over the town, there may well have been other witnesses elsewhere. Tony continued to watch the craft for over a minute until it had moved out of sight. Drawing of the UFO based on witness description: 📷 This is not where the story ends. The following day Tony went down his local pub The Maltings for a drink, the events of the previous evening still playing on his mind. His friend Barry walked in and came over to him. Before Tony had time to speak, Barry excitedly said “You’re not going to believe what I saw last night!” He went on to explain that he had been driving along Forest Road at the Southern edge of the town. Next to the road lies an area of dense trees and undergrowth. All of a sudden the wooded area lit up in a bright white flash, making it appear clear as day. It did this two more times before returning to darkness. Barry did not mention seeing any craft, and had not got out of the car to investigate. Photograph of Forest Road with accompanying woodland: 📷 Aerial map showing UFO sighting location and Forest Road: 📷 Tony asked him if the flashes had occurred around 8pm. Barry confirmed that this had indeed been the time. Tony then went on to tell him about his own sighting. The two men were convinced that the incidents were linked. Tony kept an eye on the local news over the next few days but neither the UFO or flashes of light were mentioned at all. Sighting Analysis This is a fantastic sighting of what was more than likely a genuine advanced craft of extraterrestrial origin. Due to the appearance, size and controlled flight path of the object it is very unlikely to have been something else such as a radio controlled model or lit inflatable. It was clearly not a conventional aircraft of any kind, due to the relatively low altitude it was flying at Tony could easily make out its shape. Tony feels it is very unlikely to have been a secret military craft of some kind because if it was there would be no way they would have flown it directly over a populated town. This would be completely illogical, and I certainly agree with Tony’s views on this. UFOs are often seen to glow after dark. It is widely believed that this is due to the anti-gravitational field that surrounds them while they are airborne. The flashes seen by Barry are also very interesting. It is highly likely that they were caused by the craft, as Tony saw it heading in the direction of Forest Road, and if the craft remained on the same course it would have been over that area at the time the flashes occurred. We can only speculate what the flashes actually were. Perhaps the craft was scanning the woodland for something. Or perhaps the flashes were linked with its propulsion system. Could the craft have even landed in the forest? We will probably never know the answers to these questions. Because of the time the incidents took place, it is likely that there are other witnesses who are yet to come forward. The flashes were very bright and would probably have been visible to any driver heading along Forest Road at that time. If you have any further information on this stunning case, please get in touch. - 12/05/2010 - Bedlington, Northumberland - Boomerang UFO Sighting
Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Originally forwarded by Richard Hall Release Date: 04/10/2010 This report covers a fascinating close encounter with a boomerang-shaped UFO which took place in Bedlington, Northumberland in May 2010, and may well have occurred directly as a result of something the witness was doing at the time. Sighting Details In May 2010 Jane Davison from Bedlington, Northumberland bought an astronomy lazer pointer, a device which shines a bright green lazer light into the air allowing individual stars to be pointed out. She did this after watching some night-time clips on the internet where UFOs were apparently vectored in by one of these lazer pointers, and could be seen flashing in the night sky. She wanted to give it a go herself, and hoped to get some kind of response. Early in the morning of 12th May, Jane was watching some TV after a late shift at work at her home on Windsor Gardens. Her family were asleep upstairs. It was the first clear night since she had bought the lazer pointer, so she then decided to head out into her back garden to try it out for the first time. It was now about 1.20am. Aerial map showing location of Windsor Gardens: 📷 It was very peaceful outside and there were no aircraft in the sky, so it was safe to use the pointer. She aimed it up into the sky and shone it a couple of times. Suddenly she heard a very quiet and low pitch noise in her right ear. It sounded similar to someone swinging a cord around in circles. She turned towards the sound, expecting a flock of birds to be the cause of the strange sound. Instead she was greeted by an incredible sight. There hovering over her neighbours garden was a black boomerang-shaped object. It was about 50 feet in width, and had five equally spaced green glowing lights on its underside, which were not very bright. Its surface was smooth, and it had curved edges with no sharp corners. It was level with the roof of the house, and was only about 30-40 feet away from her position. It appeared to be sideways on to her. Jane immediately assumed this object was an advanced craft of some kind. She also felt sure it had arrived in response to her shining the lazer pointer. Photograph of the sighting location with UFO drawn on top by the witness to illustrate how it appeared to her: 📷 Jane froze to the spot in fear, she was absolutely terrified by the sudden appearance of this unusual craft and its proximity to her. Even though she had a camera in the house, she did not think about this at all, her prime concern was for the safety of her family. The craft remained completely motionless, and continued to make the strange whirring noise. After about 5-8 seconds, it turned through 45 degrees away from her to the South over 4 seconds. It did this without changing position or tilting at all. At this point Jane forced herself to move and quickly ran back inside the house. She remained inside and did not go back out, so has no way of knowing how long the craft remained in the area or how it left. Jane immediately woke her husband up, hysterically telling him about what she had just witnessed. He refused to get up out of bed, and there was no way Jane could get to sleep after what she had seen. She instead decided to phone her work place. She knew her work mate Nick was on the night shift. He picked up the phone and she excitedly went on to explain what had happened. She said to him “Nick you have to be my witness. If I go missing, at least someone knows what’s happened to me!” She was terrified that the craft may still be outside and may decide to take her. Jane’s husband heard the noise of the call and came downstairs to see who she was talking to. Jane remained awake for the rest of the night. At 3am she rang Nick back to thank him and let him know she was ok. She was too frightened to look back out of the window until the sun came up. Later in the morning she spoke to her neighbours. They said they had not heard or seen anything. The craft had been extremely close, and looking back on the incident, Jane wishes she had reacted more calmly and taken some photographs of it. The sighting has changed her life in numerous ways, and Jane now has a new found perspective on the reality of UFOs and extraterrestrials. Sighting Analysis This is a truly incredible incident, and one which I believe definitely took place. The witness sounds completely trustworthy and has nothing to gain by sharing her experience with me. Firstly it seems very likely that this was a genuine sighting of an ET craft. Its appearance was completely different to any known conventional aircraft, and it was capable of remaining stationary and turning on the spot. It also managed to arrive without the witness noticing, and emitted only a faint sound, one that has been reported numerous times before. It is very unlikely to have been some kind of inflatable object, not only due to the green lights along it but also the circumstances under which it appeared. It seems too large to have been a remote controlled model, also for what purpose would it have been flown in the middle of the night when it was unlikely anyone would even see it? Could the craft have been a secret military project, not alien? This is of course a possibility, but if it was it is very unlikely they would have flown it over a populated town. I feel therefore that it is likely the craft was extraterrestrial in origin. The description of the craft sounds very similar to the object which was seen over Phoenix, Arizona on 13th March 1997. The craft in the Phoenix Lights incident was much larger, and it had white lights instead of green, but the shape and lighting configuration were similar. Below is a drawing of the craft seen over Phoenix by one of the witnesses, the similarities are easy to see: 📷 It seems very probable that this craft did arrive directly as a result of Jane using the lazer pointer. Obviously this usually does not happen when these devices are used, otherwise it would be easy to get conclusive proof that UFOs exist. It is possible that this happened by pure chance, perhaps the craft was in the vicinity, the lazer light was noticed and it flew in for a closer look. Or perhaps it was there to observe Jane or her neighbours, and it was just a coincidence that the lazer pointer was being used at the time. The green lights seen under the craft are interesting. This is just a suggestion but could these lights have been changed to this colour in direct response to the green lazer light that Jane was shining into the air? Whatever the reason for the craft’s appearance that night, this remains an impressive close encounter. Due to the time of night that it took place, there would not have been many people out on the streets, but it is still possible that other witnesses exist. If you too saw this craft over Bedlington please get in touch. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010
- 04/02/2007 to 09/05/2010 - Coventry - Orange Orb, Disc, Cigar & Metallic UFO Photographs
Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 10/10/2010 Introduction Phil Wright from Coventry is a keen astronomer and enjoys taking photographs of the sky , planets and stars. Over time he has both seen and photographed a number of interesting UFOs. He has come to realise that there are certainly strange objects flying around our skies, and for the last five years has regularly scanned the skies with his telescope and camera in the hopes of seeing them. He does this from the back garden of his home on William Bree Road, Eastern Green, Coventry. This report covers each of his UFO sightings and contains photographic analysis of the images he has managed to capture. Aerial map showing location of William Bree Road, from where the photographs in this report were taken: 📷 04/02/2007 – ORANGE ORB UFO Sighting Details At 1.46pm on the 4th February 2007, Phil was out in his back garden and trying out his new Canon eos400d camera with Sigma 105mm ex telephoto lens. The weather was quite cloudy, but there were still patches of blue sky. He suddenly caught sight of a very fast moving bright yellow/orange orb of light. It was moving much faster than a low altitude fighter jet would fly at, and heading on a straight course to the West. It was at an angle of about 20-30 degrees from his position. Luckily the camera was set up on the tripod and pointing towards the object, and Phil quickly snapped three frames over one second. The object was visible for a further 3 seconds in which time it had covered the entire skyline and disappeared into the horizon. He did not expect to have caught the object due to its speed, but when he checked he found he had managed to capture it on the first two of the three photographs. Bizarrely, the object appeared at exactly the same position on both the photographs. Phil finds this aspect of the incident very hard to explain – it was almost as if for a fraction of a second the object had halted, perhaps to allow itself to be photographed! He is certain that the two photographs were both genuine and that one was not a copy of the other. Unfortunately Phil has currently only been able to locate the first photograph of the three, but if he manages to find the others he says he will send them to me for inclusion here. Photographic Analysis Here is the first photograph which captured the object. The intense glowing light coming from the object can be easily seen: 📷 Zoomed view of the UFO: 📷 Zoomed view of the UFO with edge find: 📷 Sighting Analysis This is an interesting sighting that defies many explanations. The appearance of the object was very similar to how Chinese lanterns appear. However the object was moving much too fast for it to have been a lantern, even if there was fast wind conditions (Which there wasn’t at ground level). It was also moving too fast to have been a conventional aircraft/helicopter, and as it was the daytime the shape would have been visible. It is possible that it was an earth light, although these would not generally move so fast or travel right across the sky as the object did. Perhaps it was a daylight sighting of a meteorite burning up in the atmosphere. This is probably the most logical explanation for what was seen and photographed. However this does not explain how it appeared at the same position on two separate photographs, unless there was a temporary issue with the camera. There is still a chance it was something much more unusual travelling on an intentional course. 17/03/2007 – METALLIC FLOWER-SHAPED UFO Sighting Details It was 2.30pm on 17th March 2007, and Phil was once again out in the back garden of his house checking out the sky. It was a mild sunny day, with patchy cloud and a light breeze. He sighted what looked like a bright glinting dot in the sky moving from the South West to the North East. Aiming his camera towards the object he started to take photographs at a rate of 1 a second. Through the telescopic lens he could see that the object appeared to be metallic silver in colour. It was shaped like a flower, with a rounded central section surrounded by petal-like appendages radiating outward. As he watched, these appendages appeared to change position and angle in an unusual way. Within a minute the object had been lost from sight to the East. Photographic Analysis Sadly Phil lost most of the photographs he took of this particular object when his laptop stopped working. However he had luckily managed to save a couple of them beforehand. Below is the first photograph: 📷 Zoomed photo of the UFO: 📷 Zoomed photo of the UFO with edge find: 📷 In this second zoomed photograph, the edge appendages look a little different and less pronounced. Phil says that the other photos showed similar differences as if the outer edges of the object were moving and changing in some way: 📷 Sighting Analysis Phil admits that the object could have been a balloon, however he did find the apparent movement of the outer sections of the object to be very unusual. This could however have been merely a trick of the light. I agree with Phil, it is certainly possible that the object was a decorative balloon of some kind, although the shape is extremely odd. It was certainly not a conventional aircraft of any kind. It did not perform any interesting manoeuvres which would suggest it was under any form of control. 29/05/2007 – WHITE FLICKERING UFO Sighting Details On 29th May 2007 Phil was to witness another strange looking object. It was a very clear day with only light fluffy clouds. At 5.52pm Phil caught sight of a bright, erratically flickering UFO in the sky. The object was moving from South West to North East and appeared to be at very high altitude. It looked like it was white in colour and a very strange shape which was hard to describe. The flickering coming from it was extremely bright and reminded Phil of a welding arc. It was travelling on a straight course at a steady speed similar to that of an aircraft. Phil had his camera at the ready and started taking a photograph every second until the memory card became full. As the object flew towards the North East horizon, it appeared to get even brighter for a moment, and also seemed to “hang around” for a moment, which suggests it was at very high altitude. Phil has often seen low flying aircraft leaving from Birmingham International airport, and when these reach the horizon they vanish straight away. Photographic Analysis Here is a time-lapsed video sequence that Phil has made from the photographs. This clearly shows the odd shape of the object and its rotation: There are far too many photographs taken to display all of them, but below are a select number of photographs. As you can see, the object’s shape looks different in each, which suggests it was probably rotating to different angles. Here is an example of how the object appears unzoomed: 📷 Zoomed photo of UFO: 📷 Zoomed photo of UFO with edge find: 📷 A number of other zoomed photos of the object: 📷 📷 📷 Sighting Analysis This is a truly bizarre looking object. I feel that the most likely explanation is some kind of lightweight material that was caught in an air current and drifting across the sky. Perhaps it was even space debris that was in orbit just outside of the atmosphere. It does not look like a balloon, but neither does it seem to have a definite shape or structure to it which would indicate it was some kind of craft. Phil says it appeared white and had flickering light coming from it. There is the possibility that it was reflecting sunlight at certain angles which would have created this effect. 26/07/2008 – SPINNING DISC-SHAPED UFO Sighting Details Late on the evening of 26th July 2009, Phil saw and photographed a strange disc-shaped object in the sky. He first sighted it through binoculars and it appeared as a tiny metallic looking object, with a shape very reminiscent of a “classic” flying saucer. It was not visible with the naked eye due to the distance. It appeared to be at very high altitude and was hardly moving. Phil took about 40 photographs of the object, but when he tried to find it again with his binoculars he had lost sight of it. It had probably headed to the South away from him. When he checked the photos, it appeared that the object had been rocking back and forth and also possibly rotating anti-clockwise. Photographic Analysis Below is a time-lapsed video of the object, showing the rotation and erratic rocking movement: One of the original photographs: 📷 Here is a close up of the object: 📷 Zoomed view of the UFO with edge find: 📷 A number of other close ups of the object: 📷 📷 📷 Sighting Analysis I feel that the most likely explanation for this particular object is some kind of balloon/inflatable. It appears to be silver in colour. The rocking motion and possible rotation could well be caused by the object being blown in the wind at high altitude. It looks nothing like a conventional aircraft, and did appear to be in the atmosphere, albeit very high up. I do wonder if in fact the object was similar in shape to the UFO Phil saw on 17th March 2007, with a more flower-like shape, but with the appendages beings viewed from the side. The central area of the UFO does not appear smooth, and suggests that it could be oddly shaped. 21/02/2009 – OVAL UFO WITH RED LIGHT Sighting Details This sighting occurred around lunchtime on 21st February 2009. It was a moderate temperature with a mostly clear sky, except for a few fast moving clouds. Phil was sweeping the sky with his binoculars when he came across a small intense red light, at an elevation of about 60 degrees. The object appeared to be stationary, with the intensity of the light slightly changing every few seconds. Phil used his William Optics Megrez72 apo camera with 1.4x Teleconverter and took 25 photographs at 1 second intervals. After about a minute, some high level haze appeared and blocked out the object from sight. When he checked the photographs on his laptop, Phil could then make out a dark oval-shaped object behind the light. It appeared that the red light was emenating from this object, possibly even coming from an opening in it. It was also possible to see that the object was rotating in an anti-clockwise direction Photographic Analysis Below is a time-lapsed video sequence of the object, showing it’s shape and rotation: Photograph of object without zoom: 📷 Zoomed photo of the object: 📷 Zoomed photo of the object with edge find: 📷 Other example zoomed photographs of the UFO: 📷 📷 📷 Sighting Analysis As Phil has stated, this could well be a balloon/inflatable with LED light attached. It’s constant rotation could be caused by the object drifting in air currents. This is not a definite though, and the rotation of the object could be entirely intentional. The object is clearly not a conventional aircraft of any kind, and it does not look like atmospheric phenomena. If it was some kind of structured flying model it is unlikely it would have been rotating. The most probable explanation is a lit inflatable of some kind. 23/04/2010 – GLOWING ORANGE CYLINDRICAL UFO Sighting Details At 5.22pm on 23rd April 2010, Phil caught a glimpse of a stationary flickering amber coloured light to the North from his back garden. It was a clear sunny evening, and the glow coming from the object was immediately apparent. It appeared to be extremely far away as even through his binoculars he could only make out the intense light. He snapped 30 photographs of the object using his telescope and camera setup. Later when he checked on his laptop, it became clear that the object was cylindrical in shape. Also he found that it appeared to be rotating on the spot. Photographic Analysis Here is a time-lapsed video sequence, which clearly shows the clockwise rotation of the object: Below is an example photograph of the object: 📷 Zoomed photo of the UFO: 📷 Zoomed photo of the UFO with edge find: 📷 Other example zoomed photos of the object: 📷 📷 Sighting Analysis I feel that the most probable explanation for this sighting is an internally lit balloon of some kind. The object appears too long to be a conventional Chinese lantern, and also these do not tend to rotate completely even if caught in a breeze. However the fact that it was a glowing amber colour and occasionally flickering lead me to believe it had a flame inside of it. It performed no manoeuvres which suggest that it was under control, and its rotation could easily have been caused by it being blown around in an air current. As with most of the other sightings here I cannot give a definite answer to what was seen, but this is the most likely explanation. 09/05/2010 – METALLIC UFO WITH VAPOUR TRAIL Sighting Details On the afternoon of 9th May 2010, Phil was out in the back garden of his house. It was 2.15pm and a clear, warm day with a slight breeze and some white cloud cover. He was out with some binoculars and Pointed Handheld Celestron 5 telescope with attached Canon 550d slr camera attached, and was doing a scan of the sky to see if he could spot anything out of the ordinary. As he looked through his binoculars, he came across a distant object glinting in the sunlight to the North North East. It was hard to judge the size of the object, but it appeared to be high in the atmosphere, at least at airliner cruising altitude. It was at about 45 degrees elevation from his position. It was too distant to visually notice any detail, so he began taking photographs of it through his telescopic camera. He took 25 photos, but then thought to himself that the object was nothing more than a balloon and put his equipment down. A minute later he noticed that the object had moved slightly higher in elevation, so decided to take a further 15 photographs, after which he lost sight of it behind some clouds. Phil was curious as to what the object could have been, but assumed that when he scanned the photos into his PC it would turn out to be nothing more than a balloon. However he was surprised to find that the object was something much more interesting! It looked like a metallic silver hexagonal or star shaped structure, with a central domed area and a number of appendages sticking out from it. These appendages appeared to have blue lights at their tips. Surrounding the object was a strange looking white vapour trail which appeared to have a particle-like structure to it. Phil had never seen anything like this before. Throughout the 40 photos that he took, the object appeared to be morphing and moving into and out of this trail, perhaps suggesting that it was being emitted from the whole object rather than a specific place on it. The trail appeared to be directly behind the object. Phil has a lot of experience of observing jet aircraft and knows how their trails appear at different angles. The photographs suggest that the object was possibly changing shape or morphing relative to the trail, although it could have just been rotating to different angles. Soon after the incident, Phil sent some of the images to UFO researcher Martin Slough to see what he thought of them. Just like Phil, he had no idea what the object could be and agreed that it looks extremely unusual. In June 2010 Phil sent me all the high resolution photographs he had taken of the object. Some of these photos are analysed and discussed below. Photographic Analysis Here is a time-lapsed video of the UFO showing it’s bizarre shape and actions: Below is the first photograph taken of the object (The original pixel definition is much larger than this, enabling a closer view of the UFO, even though it is quite small when looking at the picture as a whole): 📷 Here is an zoomed view the UFO. As you can see, it appears to be a very strange shape with rounded domes protruding from it. It looks to be metallic and reflecting sunlight. The extensions with possible blue lights at the ends are not really visible in this initial photograph, but throughout the sequence the object appears to change angle or actually morph into different shapes. You can also see the strange vapour trail behind/below the object: 📷 Zoomed view of the UFO with edge find: 📷 The whole sequence of photographs is very long. Rather than show every single shot, I have chosen specific zoomed photos which show the object at various angles or performing different actions. In the below photo, the object appears to have completely vanished into the vapour trail apparently pouring out of it. This is very strange and suggests that the vapour sometimes surrounds the object as well as just pouring out from behind it. It does this numerous times throughout the photographic sequence, remaining hidden for up to three frames before becoming visible again: 📷 This photo is from after it has “reappeared” from out of the vapour. As you can see the appearance is now different, probably because the object has rotated to a different angle: 📷 In this photo it is possible to see what looks like small blue lights around the upper edge of the body of the object. From this angle these do not look like they are protruding from it very far, but later photos suggest otherwise: 📷 Later in the sequence, one of the photos shows the object as looking more like a star shape, with clear rounded triangular sections. It is impossible to know the angle the object is at (Of course this assumes that it actually has a front, back, top and bottom): 📷 This compelling photograph, taken from towards the end of the sequence, shows the object as a rounded hexagonal shape. At the top and possibly the bottom it is possible to see two protrusions, at the ends of which appear to be small blue coloured lights: 📷 Sighting Analysis The object that Phil photographed on this occasion truly is an anomaly. The photos taken are the most bizarre set of UFO photographs that BUFOG has yet received, and I find this sighting completely fascinating. Without his telescopic camera, this would have been nothing more than a tiny dot reflecting light. Many high altitude UFO sightings end up like this, with no way of knowing whether the object is something mundane or out of the ordinary. But thanks to the equipment available at the time of this sighting, we instead are left with many photos of a highly unusual structured object. It clearly looks to be solid, and looks like it is emitting a vapour trail of some kind. It looks completely different from any conventional aircraft. It is unlikely to be a remote controlled model due to the high altitude it appeared to be at. Also it looks nothing like an inflatable object or a bunch of balloons tied together. LED balloons do feature small glowing lights, however balloons do not emit a visible trail behind them. If you have ever seen anything similar to this or know what the object could possibly be, please do get in touch. For now it remains an intriguing mystery. Conclusion Over the last few years Phil has managed to capture some very interesting objects on camera. While some of them may well have mundane explanations, all of them certainly look very unusual, and display characteristics different to many normal aerial objects. I am certain that he will continue to watch the skies over Coventry, and will continue to film UFOs, and if he stays in touch this report will be updated with these further sightings. - July 2010 - Rawmarsh, Rotherham - Flying Triangle Sighting
Birmingham UFO Group Report Author: Dave Hodrien Originally forwarded by Richard Hall Release Date: 24/10/2010 This report covers a sighting of a black triangular shaped UFO with an interesting lighting configuration, which was seen by a man in Rawmarsh, Rotherham in July 2010. It is a great example of how unexplained craft can be seen anywhere, at any time. Sighting Details The witness, Shaun, was sitting in the living room of his second storey flat on Dawson Avenue and watching TV. It was about 10pm in the evening. Suddenly he noticed some huge yellow lights up in the sky visible from the window of the room. Shaun jumped to his feet to see where the lights were coming from. It was a clear night and the stars were visible. Towards the South he could see seven large round yellow lights in a crown-like pattern, three above with four below them. They appeared to be attached to the side/rear of a very large object. Shaun estimates it was about the size of a football pitch. As it was dark it was hard to initially make out the shape of the object, all he could see clearly were the yellow lights. It appeared to be between 150-200 feet in the air. Aerial map showing the approximate location of the sighting: 📷 Drawing showing the yellow lighting configuration: 📷 The UFO was moving across the sky horizontally on a level course about a mile away from him. Shaun estimates it was moving between 100-200 mph. After it had flown several hundred feet across the sky, it started to turn until it was heading towards his location. Shaun quickly ran to get his mobile phone as he wanted to get a photograph of what he was witnessing. He returned to the window and found that the object was still on approach. As it did so, he began to see more of the underside of the craft and the yellow lights became obscured from view. It was now that he realised that the object was a large triangular-shaped craft. The main body of the craft was completely black, he could see no markings on it. On the underside he saw a number of white lights around the edges and a red light in the centre. He was amazed at what he was witnessing. Drawing of how the white lights appeared as the object was approaching. The front white light and central red light were not visible until the object was more overhead: 📷 As it passed overhead he leaned out of the flat window to take a photograph on his phone's camera. Unfortunately because it was dark and the main body of the craft appeared black it did not show up very clearly, all he managed to catch was one of the lights underneath. The craft moved out of sight over the roof of the flat. Shaun ran through to the dining room on the opposite side, and stared out of the window expecting to see the craft reappear. If it had continued on the same course it should have been visible but it was gone, it was almost like it had vanished or left the area while over the roof of the flat. Shaun felt that what he had seen was an extraterrestrial craft, although he says it could possibly have been military in origin. After the sighting he told his mum about what he had seen, and she believed him. Sighting Analysis This is a very interesting sighting, and likely to be a genuine sighting of a "Flying Triangle" craft. Craft of this type have been seen all around the world, especially over recent decades. The apparent huge size of the object, its shape and colour have been described many times before. The particular lighting configuration Shaun describes is not common, although there can be many variations of lighting seen. The lighting was unlike any known normal or military aircraft, and the huge size of the craft suggests it was something out of the ordinary. Some people believe that Flying Triangles are an ongoing secret military project, however I do not go along with this viewpoint. The craft often display advanced manoeuvring capabilities, they can hover silently or move extremely fast with instant acceleration. Sometimes, as with this case, they can be extremely large in size, and there are also a number of cases where ET beings have been seen in close proximity to this type of craft while landed or at low altitude. Also these craft can be seen anywhere, including over highly populated towns. It is extremely unlikely that if the military were behind them, they would fly them in plain sight of the public. Therefore I conclude that this was more than likely an advanced craft of extraterrestrial origin. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010
- Stretford Contact Case - UFO Sighting, Telepathic Communication
Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Originally forwarded by Richard Hall Release Date: 26/10/2010 Usually when someone sees a UFO they are merely observers of something out of the ordinary. However sometimes there appears to be direct interaction between the witness and the object, which can take a number of forms. This report covers a fascinating close encounter with a UFO where apparent communication was established. Incident Details The encounter you are about to read about took place in the summer of 1975/76. At the time Paul was only 4 or 5 years old. However he still remembers the incident and it has stuck with him for his whole life. This is the first time he has openly told anyone about what happened in detail. It was a warm and clear afternoon with very little cloud in the sky. Paul was outside the front of his family’s house on Alder Grove in Stretford, Manchester, and was playing with his football. Inside the house were his parents and his sisters. There was nobody else outside at the time. The road is a small secluded cul-de-sac so his parents were fine with him being out on his own. Also his grandmother lived at the end of the road so would check up on him regularly. Aerial map of Alder Grove: 📷 Suddenly something above him caught his eye. He looked up, and directly above him in the sky was a silver disc-shaped object. As he was viewing it from underneath it looked completely circular. It was about the height a helicopter would fly at, and was quite large in size, Paul estimates it was about the size of a football stadium, although due to his age it may have appeared larger than it actually was. There were lights of multiple colours visible around the edge of the disc. This is an example hoax UFO photograph that reminds Paul of the object he saw (If viewed from beneath and with coloured lights around the edge): 📷 Paul immediately looked around to see if there was anyone else around but there was not. He wanted to go and tell someone but was too amazed at what he was witnessing. He looked back up at the disc. At this point some sort of interaction began to take place between him and the UFO or its occupants. At first he was scared inside and very aware of the presence of the disc. He said in his mind “Ok I see you and you see me”. Then suddenly a feeling of calm and safety came over him. He felt very happy and empowered with confidence. He began having thoughts that were well beyond his age. He was being told things by telepathic means and also responding, though he cannot remember the exact communication which took place. He felt that everything was going to be ok and that he should not worry. These strange feelings continued for what Paul felt was at least 10 minutes. During this time he believes he was just standing under the UFO looking up at it. After this time he then felt it was time to go. He thanked them, stopped looking up and went back to his football. Looking back he saw the disc was still there, but then saw it lift up vertically out of sight. He went back home but did not tell his family about what he had seen. Paul has no idea why the ETs chose him to communicate with, or what the reason behind this communication was. He feels he has a purpose in life, and over the last two years has come to realise this purpose. Since an early age he has felt that the system was wrong and that everyday life was somehow false. Two years ago he began looking into New World Order and governmental corruption, and has started to view the world in a new light. Incident Analysis This is a fascinating encounter with a UFO that apparently interacted with the witness. Paul was quite young at the time, and of course children can sometimes imagine things. It is also possible that the object was not as large as he remembers it being. But I find it very unlikely that he mistook a balloon/inflatable for an alien craft, firstly because of the fact it hovered still for over 10 minutes before moving away, and secondly because of the direct communication involved. The object was clearly not a helicopter and was very unlikely to have been a radio controlled model. Paul will probably never remember exactly what was said between him and the occupants of the UFO. When looking back at the experience, he does feel that he was communicating with multiple entities not just one. It is a shame that there were no other witnesses to the UFO, as this would have verified certain aspects of the incident. Just as with many other UFO sightings we only have Paul’s testimonial evidence to go on. However it is an incident which has stuck with him ever since, and one which he feels definitely took place. He is clearly not making up the experience, and has only now decided to speak of what happened so many years ago, something we should all be thankful for. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010
