  • June 2014 - Quinton, Birmingham - White/Metallic UFO Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: George Gregg Release Date: 18/10/2014 Sighting Report In mid June 2014 a man and his wife, facing south east,  out of their kitchen window saw an object following a commercial airliner or cargo plane (witnesses description)  at speed over Hagley Road, Quinton (B32 postcode). It was around 55 degrees from the horizontal. There was nothing obscuring the view of the airplane and anomalous object. They had a clear sight of the object which was thought to be white / metallic. No noise was heard from either plane or object. There was a straight flight path, both plane and object were very fast. The UFO quickly closed up to the left side of plane. The anomalous object left no trail unlike the plane. There were no psychic elements or contact reported by the witnesses. Map and photograph of sighting location: Sighting Analysis An intriguing report from two members of the public however insufficient detail to reach any formal conclusion. Nevertheless it is highly unusual for traffic control to allow two aircraft to fly so close together. There is a long history of aircraft and UFO encounters. We would be grateful if any pilot involved in this case or other witnesses could contact either David Hodrien or George Gregg to upgrade this report. Copyright George Gregg 2014

  • Cannock Chase Sky Watch 2014

The area of Cannock Chase is one spooky location. For many years people have reported all manner of paranormal goings on, including UFO sightings, abductions, ghosts, werewolves, giant snakes and even mutant man-pig hybrids! Add this to the fact that it is extremely open with a great view of the sky and it’s no wonder that it has become BUFOG’s sky watch location of choice! On Saturday 13th September we headed back out to the Chase for the 3rd time. This time I was armed with a new piece of kit, a night vision IR camera scope, which I was very much looking forward to trying out! I also brought along a book of weird tales from Cannock Chase written by Lee Brickley, which my brother had purchased for my birthday the previous month. I figured we could use it as a kind of guide book of the unexplained. The initial meet up location for the watch was, as with previous sky watches, the bar of The Barns on Cock Sparrow Lane. I (and a car load of friends) arrived slightly later than planned at around 8.15pm. I was pleasantly surprised to find many enthusiastic sky watchers waiting for me in the bar. It was immediately clear that this was the biggest turn out we have had so far for one of our sky watches, with about 25 people in attendance. There were familiar faces from the group, some I had not seen since the last sky watch and others along for the first time. We spent the next hour having a friendly chat about the plans for the evening and the UFO subject in general. I also had my driver’s pint for the night which went down extremely well indeed! At 9.30pm we decided it was time to make a move and head for the chase. Heading out to the car park we were pleased to see that the weather had remained pleasant. There was some light cloud but the stars and moon were clearly visible and it was relatively still as well. Once again it seemed to be on our side. However one thing that was not on our side was internet access. We soon discovered that there was no signal at all, which wasn’t good considering many of us, myself included, were using mobile phone sat nav. Luckily some still knew the route to the location so we headed off in two convoys of cars. To my credit, I only took a wrong turn once... When we got to the lay-by at the base of the slope leading up to the sky watch location it dawned on me that there was absolutely no space left. On previous years this had not been an issue but there were more of us this time than ever before! Luckily just up the road we found a second lay-by with enough space for the remainder of the vehicles. By the time we’d walked back to the first lay-by the others had already set off along the path. It was pitch black but I’d brought along an extremely powerful torch to light our way. As we headed along the path we were amazed to see an extremely bright glowing object shoot up into the sky from out of the trees ahead. It was pale yellow in colour, not the normal amber orange associated with Chinese lanterns. It got to about 100 feet up, slowed and then began to drift back down until it went out of sight. Had aliens shown their presence only a minute after our arrival, perhaps greeting us to the chase? Or had one of my mates or someone else along for the watch secretly split off from the group and launched a flare up into the sky for a laugh? I’m going to go with the second explanation. I had my suspicions that it was my friend Richard who is a big fan of fireworks. However he would neither confirm or deny that he was the culprit, and nobody else owned up to it either. As we headed further up the slope it became clear that the area was more overgrown than it had been on previous watches. There were row upon row of short pine trees alongside the left side of the path. Luckily these did not really block our view of the sky, and away from the light pollution of Cannock we had a great view of the stars. Once we reached the decided location for the sky watch BBQ master Paul immediately got to work setting up his kitchen of culinary delights, which this time included sausages, burgers, kebabs and cans of drink. Got to give him credit, he knows how to make a good sky watch even better! Others headed off into the nearby area of forest to find some firewood and get a small bonfire going. One of the attendees of the sky watch named Richard was in the process of putting together a paranormal documentary for his university course. He had previously come on down to a couple of our group meetings, and it was nice to see him back for the sky watch. He set up his camera at the edge of the location to capture some atmospheric footage for his production. Numerous others had brought along night vision scopes and laser pointers, and we soon got to work watching the skies. It was relatively quiet other than the occasional aeroplane, but everyone kept their eyes peeled for something more unusual. And speaking of things more unusual, I decided it was time to fill everyone in with some tales of the “Cannock Chase Pig Man”. The story goes that secret experiments performed in the area had led to the creation of a half man-half pig creature which roams Cannock Chase to this very day! Lee Brickley’s book “UFOs, Werewolves & The Pig Man” covers several chilling sightings of this hideous beast, the most recent of which took place in 2011. So lit by the firelight I proceeded to read out these spooky tales to the delight/horror of those present! As the evening progressed a few people reported hearing strange sounds coming from the undergrowth including growling and something which sounded like a cow. I had a go on an electronic device used to detect high frequency noise such as the sound that bats make. However it just sounded like white noise, there were clearly no bats in the area at the time (Perhaps they were scared away by the firelight). At one point we got a little excited when we spotted what initially appeared to be two star-like white lights moving away from one another. However it soon became clear that one of these was a satellite, and the other light was a star which it had happened to just be passing when it was first spotted. By about half midnight we had pretty much resigned ourselves to the fact that were not going to witness anything out of the ordinary. However we were soon to be proved entirely wrong. One of the people at the edge closest to the forest reported hearing some rustling coming out of the bushes alongside the path. I and several others armed with our night vision cameras crept closer to where the sounds had been heard. Suddenly a figure loomed forward out of the darkness. I can barely find the words to tell you what we all clearly saw. After losing sight of the mysterious figure, we then caught a glimpse of movement coming from the trees at the edge of the forest. Heading further along the path to try and chase down whatever it was, a strange sense of foreboding overcame us. We knew that it was close. We gingerly crept forward through the bracken. A sudden breeze carried the unmistakeable smell of smoky bacon. And then there it was, peering out from behind a tree. What did we see out there on Cannock Chase? After extensively analysing both the night vision footage and the photographs I snapped on my mobile phone I can only conclude that we had a close encounter with the legendary Pig Man, who I might add was definitely not BUFOG member Adam wearing a cheap pig mask purchased for £2.99 off E-Bay. Our terrifying encounter brought the sky watch to a close and we decided to head back to the cars after ensuring that the flames were out and not going to start a forest fire. Everyone seemed to have had a superb time despite the lack of UFOs in the sky. After taking a final group photograph we headed back down the slope to the road, said our goodbyes and headed for home. I’ve no doubt we will be back to the Chase again in the future, so if you missed out this time keep an eye on the website. The truth is out there. And it smells of bacon. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2014

  • Stocksbridge Contact Case - Greys, Abductions, Visitations, UFOs Sighting, Psychic Abilities

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Last Updated: 09/05/2014 For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used Introduction Steven first got in touch with me in mid-April 2014. He informed me that over recent weeks he had experienced a number of incidents which were deeply troubling him, and which he felt may be related to ET contact. These incidents started with vivid memories of waking up during the night and both sensing and seeing things. Following these he had experienced two detailed visions which appeared to be related to abduction. This report covers Steven’s experiences in depth, and features numerous drawings and rendered reconstructions which he has kindly provided me with. Daylight Discs One day in the summer of 2003 when Steven was 11 his mother called him to the door of their house in Stocksbridge, asking him to come and look at something. When he reached the door she pointed up into the sky to the West in the direction of some nearby farmland. It was a bright, clear and sunny day outside. About a mile away visible over the nearby tree tops were three metallic grey oval-shaped objects. They were at an angle of about 30-40 degrees and were positioned in a triangular formation in the sky, with the middle object slightly lower than the other two. There were no markings or lights on the objects. Witness drawing of the sighting location showing where he and his mother were standing and the direction the UFOs were seen: The discs hovering in the sky beyond a nearby tree: The objects seemed to be hovering motionless in the air. After watching them for several minutes Steven lost interest and went back inside. His mother continued to watch the objects. She informed him later that the objects had begun to seemingly phase out and shift to different locations in the sky. Finally the objects disappeared but did not come back. Unfortunately despite the length of the sighting Steven’s mother did not capture any photographs or video of the objects. Steven says that although they had a camera in the house, they did not have any film for it at the time, but it did not really occur to them anyway, they were too busy watching the objects. Steven does not recall reading anything about the UFOs in the local newspaper. He feels that if there had been something either he or his mother would have spotted it. He was surprised as the sighting occurred in broad daylight. Contact Begins On a night in March 2014 Steven awoke to find himself standing in his room in his night clothes. He does not know what time it occurred as he did not check the clock. The landing light was on outside and his bedroom door was ajar so it was not pitch black in the room. He felt fully awake, but could sense an oppressive presence all around him, focused behind and around his sides. It felt extremely dark and a little frightening. Panicking because of the situation, Steven felt that he needed to wake his mother up. He only remained in his  room for a few seconds before walking out onto the landing. The sense of a presence seemed to follow with him. He walked on through into his mother’s room. On the far side of the bed he immediately became aware of a pale grey coloured figure standing in the darkness. However he remained focused on waking her up so didn’t look directly at it. Steven says that strangely at the time he was more concerned by the sense of presence. He knew the figure was there but it was like it didn’t register normally. He called out “Mum!” quite loudly. But his mother did not awake. He continued to shout at her to try and wake her up but she did not stir, it was as if she had been knocked out. His mother is a light sleeper so certainly should have heard him shouting. Overview showing the upper floor of the house and locations of Steven, his mother and the figure: This was where his memory of what took place ends. The next thing he knew he was waking up in the morning. He immediately recalled what had happened. Although he felt rested physically his mind was still active, almost as if it had been on pause and then continued when he woke up. He initially put down what had happened to an unusual and vivid dream. Because of this he did not inform his mother or sister about it. Although Steven did not see the figure standing in his mother’s room clearly it is likely that this was a Grey, which suggests that she too may be a contactee. He tried to wake up his mother by shouting at her but she appeared to be shut down. This is commonly reported by contactees. It appears that the ETs have a way of shutting down individuals at will. This is possibly done to prevent them from fighting back or even witnessing what is taking place. Watch The Sky It wasn’t long before another similar incident occurred. Again Steven awoke during the night to find himself standing in his room in the same position as before. Once more the sense of a dark presence was there too. However this time it immediately felt like it was lifting and going away. For an unknown reason Steven also felt angry – at what he did not know. Almost on “auto pilot” he ran downstairs in his night clothes. He flung open the front door, ran outside into the garden and stared up into the sky. It was a clear night and the stars were visible overhead. The only light source was from the nearby street lamp on the footpath at the front of the house. It was quite cool but not very cold. As he looked up Steven noticed his vision was slightly blurred, and at this point he realised that he had forgotten to grab his glasses. He continued to stare up at the stars, not really knowing what he was looking for. He was surprised that neither his mother or sister had heard the noise of him opening the door and also come downstairs. After a few minutes he decided to go back inside. He turned and started walking back towards the front door. This was the last thing he remembered, he did not recollect going back upstairs and getting back into bed. When he woke up in the morning he remembered what had happened. When he checked his feet he could see they were a little redder than usual, but there was no other telling signs that he had been outside. During this second incident Steven felt angry but did not know why. The fact that he ran downstairs, went out into the garden and looked up at the night sky suggests that he was aware deep down that something had come from the sky/space and interacted with him. The Black Cylinder The two incidents which Steven had experienced were of course quite un-settling. However what happened next was even more disturbing. Again Steven found himself standing up during the night but this time he was out on the landing alongside his mother. Unlike the previous occasions his head felt a little dizzy and numb. Again he could feel the dark presence behind him. He was facing his mother who like him was in her night clothes. She looked a little concerned and dazed similar to how he felt. They did not speak. Instead their attention was drawn to his sister’s room. Steven felt an urgent need to leave the property at once. He does not know why he felt this way, it was as if he knew something was going to take place and wanted to get both him and his family away from it. He ran into his sister’s room, leaving his mother standing on the landing. When he entered the room he realised his sister was awake and staring up at the ceiling. She looked shocked and frightened. She was wearing night clothes and only her legs were under the bed covers, her upper half was exposed. Steven looked up at the ceiling to where his sister was staring. Coming through the ceiling of the room was what appeared to be a black cylindrical object giving off a violet coloured light. It was between 1.5-2 feet in diameter and was positioned vertically. It was descending very slowly, passing through the ceiling and coming down into the room. There was no apparent source for the glow coming from the object, but it was bright enough to dimly light up the surroundings. It was completely silent. The whole look and feel of the object was very “alien”. Steven says that “it was very hard to describe but you could feel that it wasn’t our work. It felt very opposite or inverted in some sense”. Overview showing the upper floor of the house and positions of Steven, his mother, sister and the black cylinder: Drawing of Steven’s sisters room showing the position the black cylinder was coming through the ceiling: Rendered drawing showing the black cylinder from Steven’s perspective: As soon as Steven registered what was taking place he shouted out to his sister. This appeared to bring her round, and she immediately got up off the bed and ran towards him. Exiting the room, they ran out onto the landing, then they and Steven’s mother all ran downstairs. This is where his recollection of the event ended. In the morning neither Steven’s mother or sister mentioned what had happened at all. Because Steven could not be certain that what he remembered was nothing more than a vivid dream he decided not to tell them or ask them about it. He did not want to cause any un-necessary stress, especially to his sister. Steven felt that there was the possibility his experiences were ET-related, so at this point he began to look into the contact subject. Although there were clearly some similarities, they were not clear enough for him to say for certain what was taking place. This incident included not only his mother but also his sister. Could it be possible that the entire family is experiencing contact? If so then Steven’s mother and sister have made no indication that they are aware of this contact. Perhaps their memories have been completely blocked out, yet for some reason Steven is able to partially recollect what has taken place. The way in which the black cylinder was passing through the solid ceiling into the room is another aspect that fits with contact. The ETs seem to possess the ability to move matter through matter, and will often take people through the wall, window or ceiling when abducting them. I have not looked into any other cases where a black cylinder has been seen before, and we have no idea what the purpose of this object could have been. Perhaps it was a monitoring device of some kind. Abduction Recollections Steven had his first abduction memories a number of weeks after the black cylinder incident. On the evening before he felt a little on edge. Understandably he was concerned that his experiences may be real and may happen again. He was feeling particularly tired so went to bed around 9pm. His mother and sister remained awake. He got into bed, lay down and closed his eyes. Immediately an extremely vivid vision popped into his mind. In this vision he was in another darkened location. The air in the room was hazy as if filled with fog which seemed to be glowing a violet colour. It was too dark and hazy to properly see the size of the room, but it did not look small. He appeared to be in a lying down position at about 2-3 feet off the floor. Of to his left a couple of feet away was a metallic silver coloured table. He could make out a pair of bare human feet hanging off the end of the table. They were broad and looked male. Because of the angle Steven was viewing the table from he could not make out any more of the individual lying on it. Above where the individual’s head would be was a strange device. It was spherical and split into hexagon shapes which glowed. Blue electricity appeared to be flowing from the object down into the head of the individual. Steven stared for a short while puzzled by What was taking place. His vision was cut off by a white blurred object moved past him. It moved so fast that he was startled by it. Immediately be found himself back in his room. He remained awake a long while thinking about what he had seen and the reasons for the vision. Overview of the surroundings, showing the position of Steven, and the table with the other man on: Rendered drawing showing the table and other man from Steven’s perspective. The angle in this picture is not as sharp as it actually was, in reality Steven could only see the feet of the man and the device over him: Drawing of the electrical device seen above the man’s head: Rendered drawing showing the position of the electrical device over the man: The man that Steven saw on the table in this vision was likely to be another abductee who had been taken around the same time as himself. Like Steven, I have not come across any cases where the electrical device he observed has been reported. However the ETs use a wide variety of different instruments and devices during abduction experiences so this is not really a concern. We can only speculate at present what its purpose could have been. The white blur which moved past him and ended the first vision was more than likely a Grey walking close by to whatever he was lying on. Examination Procedures Steven’s further abduction memories came back to him a number of days later. This time he was just waking up in the morning around 8am. He had come round but still had his eyes closed. Suddenly he began to see another detailed vision. This time he was lying down on a flat metallic table, perhaps the one he had previously seen the other individual on. He was unclothed and looking down could see his knees and legs. He knows he was able to move his head but is not sure if his body was paralyzed or not. Strangely he did not feel the need to get up or try and escape. Steven says “I didn’t feel the need to move really. Under normal circumstances I’d be running like my life depended on it. But I didn’t feel like I needed to move.” Standing around his lower half were five Grey beings, two on each side and one more at the base of the table. They appeared to be between 4-5 feet in height. This was hard to judge because he could not see the floor. But the table was at the height of their waists, and their upper halves appeared about 2 feet in height. They seemed to be unclothed and had a very pale grey coloured skin, almost chalk white. He did not pay too much attention to their bodies, it was their faces that held his attention the most. The beings had bulbous heads and thin necks. Their eyes were large and almond-shaped. They were either black or very dark brown. Their noses were visible but not very pronounced, and they had slits for mouths. No ears were visible. Their fingers were long and thin, but Steven cannot remember how many fingers they had. The beings all had their arms up in the air. They were grabbing hold of the edges of a strange curved device which was being lowered down over his legs. Steven felt indifferent to the experience, almost like he did not care about what was happening to him. The device appeared to be about 6-7 feet in length. The inner surface of the device appeared to be semi-translucent. It was smooth and had rows of violet-coloured lights running along it which seemed to be embedded in the surface. Steven looked to his left past the nearest being. To the left of him was a wall only a few feet away. On this wall were rows and rows of coloured glowing lights. There was no such wall off to his right, only darkness. He realised he must be alongside one edge of the room. He never found out the purpose of the lights on the wall, or of the device being lowered onto him. This is where the vision ended. He opened his eyes, feeling unsettled by what he had just seen. He could not understand why his mind would come up with such a detailed and specific vision if there was nothing to it. Rendered drawing showing Steven on the table with the Greys around him, device over his legs and wall covered in lights: Rendered drawing showing a perspective view: In this second vision it is clear that Steven was being interacted with more directly. He was now lying on the metallic table and his night clothes had been removed. The device which the Greys were lowering down over his legs is very intriguing. Although I have not investigated any other cases where an identical device has been mentioned, I have looked into one where a curved structure of the same shape was lowered down over the individual. In this case the structure appeared to be made out of glowing yellow bars, almost like a cage. Steven does not suffer from any medical issues relating to his legs, so it does not seem that the device was employed to heal him in any way. Its purpose at present remains unknown. Other Signs Steven has informed me that his mother is a spiritual medium, and that he believes he has inherited her abilities. He also says that his sister has a high spiritual awareness. At present he has not decided to develop his own abilities, but it is something he may decide to do in the future. Although Steven feels that this has nothing to do with his contact experiences, it is very common for contactees to feel that they are in some way gifted with psychic or sixth sense abilities. He does suffer from social anxiety and hates to be out with other people he is not familiar with. This seemed to come on very suddenly back in 2012 for no apparent reason. It is possible this is linked with his contact experiences though this cannot be confirmed. On a few occasions Steven has woken up with bruises, scratches or small red dots on his arms which look suspiciously like puncture markings. However none of these have been directly linked with any of his experiences, so again may have natural causes. But it is still possible that some of them may have been markings left from abductions which have been blocked from his memory at present. Conclusion Due to the details Steven has recollected from his experiences it is likely that he is a contactee. His initial experiences where he found himself awake during the night are very interesting indeed. While it is possible to sense a dark presence during sleep paralysis, he could not have been paralysed recollects walking around his house and even running outside. Could the incidents have been down to vivid dreams? This cannot be entirely ruled out as seemingly only Steven recollected them taking place despite both his sister and mother being involved . However all of the experiences have elements pointing towards ET contact. I feel that the two visions which Steven has so far experienced are indications that he may have been abducted on one or more occasions. This is often the way that memories of contact will often come back to the individual after initially being blocked out. Unfortunately by the time he experienced these he had been looking into the contact subject, so there is the possibility that things he had read about played a part in what he remembered, although I find it unlikely to be the cause of the visions. Steven informed me that he had not seen the electrical device hanging over the head of the man before, or the device that was lowered down over his own legs during the second flashback. We have no way of knowing if the discs sighting from 2003 was in any way related to his experiences, but at face value does not appear to be. The discs were not sighted over his own house but were at least half a mile away, and there was no sign of any direct interaction or observation. It seems unlikely that Steven’s experiences have come to an end, and I have assured him of on-going support if he requires it. He has informed me that going forward he plans to document any further experiences. If he decides to keep in touch this report may be updated with additional information. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2014

  • 12/05/2014 – Birmingham – Silver & Red Boomerang UFOs Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Last Updated: 14/05/2014 For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used On the evening of 12th May I was contacted by a man named John who lives in the Rotunda flats complex in the centre of Birmingham. He got in touch only 15 minutes after sighting two unusual objects from the window of his flat. Sighting Details Around 6.50pm John was relaxing in his flat in the Rotunda when two glinting objects in the sky caught his attention through the East-facing window. He walked over to the window to take a closer look. It was a clear still and sunny evening with very little cloud. Aerial map showing the sighting location: Photograph of the Rotunda from ground level: At an angle of about 45 degrees at a height of at least 500 feet were two silver-coloured objects. They were identical in appearance and appeared to be at least the size of a small aircraft. The objects were a fattened boomerang shape. They were highly reflective and catching the sunlight brightly. At the end of the left side of each object was a metallic red coloured triangle-shaped marking. The two UFOs were initially flying South but were on an arc and turning to the West gradually. They were positioned diagonally from one another and maintained this formation throughout the sighting. They did not rotate at all and appeared to be flying with the central point facing forward. They were seemingly flying very fast, at least as fast as a plane would typically fly at. After watching for several seconds John saw an even more distant aeroplane fly through the sky visible between the two objects with a contrail behind it. At this moment he decided to go and grab his binoculars. He was soon back at the window and observing the objects under magnification, but was none the wiser to what they could be. Witness drawing of the UFOs and passing aeroplane, showing movement paths: He continued to watch the objects for a further 20 seconds or so, by which time they had flown out of sight into the distance. He continued to watch the sky while phoning his family to tell them what he had just seen. He then decided to check online for a local UFO group to call, which resulted in him giving me a call to report the sighting. Sighing Analysis This is a very unusual sighting, made all the more impressive by the fact it occurred in broad daylight over a highly populated area. The objects were clearly not conventional aircraft of any kind. They were moving too fast to be microlites, hand gliders or hot air balloons, and the fact that they flew away on a designated level course into the distance means they could not have been parachutes. They sound too large to have been two remote controlled models. When looking at possible mundane explanations, the most obvious one to consider is whether the objects could have been a pair of novelty inflatables. If they were much closer and smaller than the witness assumed they were (due to a lack of point of reference in the sky) then this would have given the impression of a very fast speed. However there are numerous aspects which do not point to this explanation. The objects did not rotate at all throughout the sighting, and were flying point-forwards, how you would expect a controlled aerodynamic object to fly. They also moved in an arc gradually, if they were inflatables drifting on an air current this would generally cause them to move on a roughly straight course, perhaps ascending or descending as they went. The movement pattern observed sounds far more like the objects were under directed control. If the objects were not inflatables or any of the other mundane explanations given above then what could they have been? They had a very distinctive and unusual appearance, one I have not heard described before, although I have investigated numerous cases of silver-coloured boomerang shaped craft, some of which have been from the Birmingham area. Perhaps these were similar objects, though this would be mere speculation. I have asked John for a drawing of the objects, which he should hopefully be sending through soon to add to this report. However I have decided to upload this as soon as possible to increase the chances of other witnesses coming forward. John feels certain that other people would have seen the objects, perhaps even people on the passing aircraft. If you have any information about this sighting please get in touch. • 04/03/2014 & 09/03/2014 – Dumbarton, Scotland – Lit UFO Sightings

Birmingham UFO Group Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 27/04/2014 Forwarded by UFO Info For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used Introduction Since last year BUFOG has been investigating UK-based cases reported via the UFO Info website. Many of the witnesses who write these reports never come back with further information which usually results in an investigative dead end. In March 2014 I received two reports from Dumbarton, Scotland seemingly reporting a UFO with numerous white lights on. Although neither witness has yet come back with additional information, the fact that both individuals have separately reported the UFO is significant, so I have decided to write this report based on what I am currently aware of. 04/03/2014 Sighting It was 8.30pm on 4th March 2014 Grant and two other individuals were driving along the M8 motorway, which runs along the edge of the River Clyde. They caught sight of three bright white lights in a triangular formation moving slowly to the right over the area of Dumbarton on the far side of the water. Photograph of Dumbarton from the M8: Suddenly one of the lights seemed to vanish from sight, perhaps due to the angle they were viewing them. This left two lights side by side. After a few seconds the third light reappeared, and they now appeared to be in a vertical line to each other. They started moving to the left slowly. Then without warning all three lights dropped down together at a fast speed behind a hill near to Dumbarton Rock and were lost from sight. Aerial map showing the M8 (A), Dumbarton (B) and Dumbarton Rock (C): Photograph of Dumbarton Rock: Grant decided to turn the car around and start driving back along the other side of the M8 to see if they could catch sight of the lights again. Unfortunately the lights did not make a reappearance so they soon continued their journey. 09/03/2014 Sighting Five days later at 5.10am Ian was driving East along the M8 motorway towards Glasgow. Just before he reached the town of Langbank he glanced to the left at Dumbarton over on the far side of the river. Near the edge of Dumbarton is a quarry. He noticed a single white light on the top of the quarry. He initially thought it may be light from a vehicle, but he had driven the same route every morning and never noticed it before. Aerial map showing the estimated sighting location (A) and Dumbarton (B): Photograph from the sighting location in the estimated direction of the sighting. The exact location of the quarry is not known at present: As he got nearer the white light began to flash randomly in no particular pattern, almost like an SOS beacon. Suddenly it disappeared, and a large rectangular shaped object with three white lights along it appeared alongside the quarry. The lights on it were spread out along its length and slowly flashing. He could barely believe what he was looking at and his stomach sank in his chest. He only observed it for between 5-10 seconds while he continued along the road before it went out of sight. When he got back home he decided to do an internet search for “UFO Dumbarton” and found the report from the 4th on the UFO Info website. He then decided to post his own sighting. Sightings Analysis I feel that there are enough similarities between the two incidents to suggest that they were observing the same object within the space of 5 days over the same area. Unfortunately there are certain things which cannot be verified due to the fact that neither witness has got back in touch. However from what we do know it seems clear that this was either a large triangular/rectangular object with several white lights along it. Grant stated that the lights he had seen were constant, whereas when Ian observed it they were flashing. This of course does not mean the two sightings were of different objects, it is possible that on one occasion the UFO was flashing its lights and on the other occasion not for whatever reason.Although no main body of the object was spotted by Grant, the way in which the lights were all moving together and keeping the same distance from one another suggests it was a single object rather than three glowing objects moving in formation. As both witnesses pointed out, the lights were in the wrong formation to have been those of a helicopter, and no other coloured lights were observed. It could not have been an aircraft as it was moving too slowly, or in the case of the 2nd sighting completely stationary. Due to the distance the lights were being observed from it must have been quite a sizeable object which makes it very unlikely to have been some kind of remote controlled model. I do hope that one or both of the key witnesses get back in touch with me in due course so further details/drawings can be added to this report. There is also the possibility of other witnesses who are yet to come forward. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2014

  • 03/09/2012 to 09/10/2013 – Wokingham/London/Isle Of Wight/Bracknell – Various UFO Sightings

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Last Updated: 21/04/2014 For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used Introduction From September 2012 onwards Peter has experienced five very distinct UFO sightings. The majority of these have been of very unusual shaped objects, some of which have displayed highly unusual characteristics or impressive flight manoeuvres. These sightings deeply affected him on an emotional level, and ever since he has avidly looked into the UFO subject. Distraught at the media’s general portrayal of the subject he eventually decided to get in touch with both BUFOG and Richard Hall to report his sightings. This report covers each of his sightings in depth, assessing the evidence and looking into possible explanations for each. 03/09/2012 – U-Shaped UFO At approximately 4.25pm on the afternoon of 3rd September 2012, Peter was out walking in Wokingham on Molly Millars Lane. It was warm and sunny, with a clear sky above. He decided to give his friend a call on his mobile phone. Aerial map of Molly Millars Lane: As he spoke on the phone he walked past an electricity tower, about 50 feet away from him. He happened to look up and spotted a very strange looking object. On approach to the tower at an angle of about 60 degrees was a U-shaped object, no bigger than 6 feet across. It was metallic light grey in colour and had what appeared to be prongs sticking out from both of the front points. The object was turning back and forth, clockwise then anti-clockwise. It was about 20 feet higher up than the top of the pylon. The object was travelling at between 40-50 mph and appeared to be intentionally moving towards the pylon. Photograph of the electricity tower where the sighting took place: Witness drawing of the UFO: As it reached the top of the tower its speed dramatically reduced until it stopped. It also ceased rotating. Peter was now able to get a better look at the object. Its surface texture was very unusual, somewhere been solid metal and reflective glass. The object began to ascend vertically into the sky, rising slowly until it was just a glinting point of light. Peter suddenly noticed two of his work colleagues nearby. He called them over so they too could observe the UFO. By this time the object was at quite high altitude. Here it seemed to be joined by two other flashing points of light. The three points formed a perfect triangular shape, which remained for between 10-15 seconds. All three then went out of sight. In total the sighting lasted for about 15 minutes, so the witness had a clear view of the object for a decent length of time. Sadly his mobile phone was a low tech one without an in-built camera, so he was not able to photograph the UFO. He did not talk about the sighting much afterwards with his colleagues as he was not particularly close to them. At first the witness assumed the object was a novelty balloon. It appeared quite small in size and also seemed light weight in the manner which it was turning back and forth. I would agree that this is the most likely mundane explanation for the object. Although the movement patterns of the object could have seemed to indicate intelligence, it is possible that the object was being carried on an air current which happened to stop over the pylon. At this point the object would have stopped drifting and rotating and would then have naturally ascended due to the helium inside it, much as the witness eludes to. Another possibility is that the object was an unusual radio controlled model of some kind, although you would expect this to have made some kind of sound. Other than the odd appearance of the object, the only other mystery to the sighting was the fact that at high altitude it seemed to be joined by two other separate points of light. However it is possible that these were an optical illusion and all lights seen were caused by sunlight glinting brightly off the one object. I therefore think that the most likely explanation at present is a novelty balloon of some kind. 09/10/2012 – Cylindrical UFO It was about 5.15pm on Saturday 9th October 2012. The weather was very clear and sunny, with barely a cloud in the sky. Peter was walking home from Martin’s Heron train station in Bracknell. He was on New Forest Wide, and walking up the road to the South-South West in the direction of the roundabout. Beyond the roundabout lies Savernake Pond and an area of woodland. Over this woodland he suddenly noticed a strange object appear, at an angle of about 40 degrees in the sky. Aerial map of New Forest Wide showing the location of the witness (A) and estimated position of the UFO (B): At first the only thing which was clear was a pulsating bright light. The rest of the object seemed fuzzy and indistinct, despite the fact it was a clear day.  It almost looked like it had just materialised in the sky. It seemed grey in colour and was roughly circular. It appeared to be about 100 feet above the tops of the trees and several hundred metres away from his location. It was completely motionless in the air. Peter continued to walk along the road. As he reached the island to cut through Woodford Green he now got a better look at the object. It now looked quite different to how it had before. It appeared to be a dark grey/black vertical cylinder hanging in the sky. Positioned to one side of it was a smaller pale grey coloured triangular shaped object, the corners of which were intermittently pulsing a bright white colour with no discernable pattern. This seemed to be much brighter than sunlight would relect at, almost like burning magnesium. Photograph of the sighting location in the direction the UFO was seen: The cylindrical object seemed to have a haze around it, perhaps distortion due to heat or energy. He describes this distortion as “almost like someone had taken an image sourced from the American NTSC video format and placed it within a high definition background”. The top of the cylinder appeared to distort and change shape almost like it was morphing. Peter was quite concerned by it and felt that it was aware of his presence. Witness drawing of the UFO with notes: He continued to walk home, glancing back at the UFO as he walked. Sometimes it would be obscured from view behind houses or trees but he would then catch sight of it again. As he got close to his home, the distortion around the top of the cylindrical object seemed to be more pronounced, almost like lumps were appearing out of it. Peter even wondered if it was going to explode. As he got to within 50 metres of his flat, Peter decided to run inside and grab his Nikon camera, as the object was still visible in the sky. He threw down his shopping and returned outside to the spot where he had last seen it. This only took about 20 seconds. But during this period of time the object had shifted position in the sky and was now much further away! It was only visible as a dot in the distance. Peter felt that it somehow knew he was going to photograph it and this is why it had changed position. View of the sighting location from witness’s flat: Not giving up, he then ran all the way back to New Forest Wide looking in the direction of the woodland over which the object had been situated. But unfortunately it could no longer be seen. On route to the location Peter thinks he noticed a white streak of light move off in a Westerly direction, but he cannot be certain and says this may have been down to the fact he was running as fast as possible. Disappointed that the object had gone he returned home. Numerous aspects of this sighting are very unusual indeed. The appearance of the object is far from common. Most mundane explanations can immediately be discounted. It was clearly not any normal aircraft or helicopter, was too unusual a shape to be some kind of military drone and is also unlikely to have been a radio controlled model. It was the wrong colour and appearance to be a daylight Chinese lantern. I initially wondered if what Peter had seen was a vertical floating solar airship. These are launched on hot sunny days and can sometimes tip up until they are completely vertical in the sky. However after seeing the drawing Peter sent me, this too can be discounted. Although they are cylindrical in shape, solar airships are quite long in length, where as the object he has drawn is a much shorter and wider cylinder. Also this would not explain the triangular object seen hovering alongside it. The only explanation which could possibly explain the incident is a novelty balloon or kite of some kind. If it was a kite then it would have been tethered, but perhaps this tether could not be seen due to the distance. Perhaps the triangular shape was some kind of separate attachment to the main object, and the brightly glowing points of light on it were its corners catching the sunlight. The morphing and lumping seen towards the top of the object could have been caused by it being very light weight and being buffeted by an air current. However the object appeared to be completely stationary in the air for a number of minutes. Surely if it was a kite then its owner would have had to move it around by tugging on the tether to keep it afloat? Similarly if it was a novelty balloon surely it would have drifted during this time? Another interesting aspect is the way in which the object appeared distorted around the edges suggesting heat or energy. I find it unlikely that this would have just been an optical illusion caused by the distance of the object. Perhaps the sunlight was heating up the surface of the object causing a mirage-like effect around it, but this would just be speculation. It is also odd that the object seemed to move much further away in the short space of time that the witness entered his flat to get a camera. Surely if it was a kite then it would have remained in the area or have been taken down and not there at all? And if it was a novelty balloon it would have only gradually drifted so should still have been close by. July & August 2013 – Segmented Disc Sightings On the first or second weekend of July 2013 Peter was staying over at the house of some friends on Ennersdale Road, close to Hither Green train station, London. It was a warm sunny day and they were having a BBQ in the back garden at around 4pm. Peter was relaxing in a deck chair, with some small binoculars to hand. Aerial map of Ennersdale Road: Without the aid of the binoculars he noticed a black circular object moving in an Easterly direction at a slow speed. It was very high up and at an angle of 70 degrees. The object was reflecting the sunlight brightly causing it to glow a variety of colours. Earlier in the day he had seen balloons drifting on by, and it was obvious this is what they were due to the way they were drifting and rotating in the wind. However this object seemed much more solid and on a definite flight path. Through the binoculars the object looked like a black metallic milk top. There were ridges all around the edge and each panel would catch the sun as the object rotated. Peter got the attention of his friend to also observe the object. They watched it for about a minute, neither witness able to identify it. Witness drawing of the UFO: Peter continued to observe the object as it changed course and headed away to the North. At one moment a bright flash of light appeared a few feet to the right of the object, the origin of which was unknown. Peter does not think this flash was due to a reflection on the object itself or in the lens of the binoculars. At a distance the object began to glow a sunset orange, possibly due to the sun reflecting on its surface. Just before it went out of sight it appeared to begin to ascend in the sky. In total he had watched it for about 10 minutes. At the time he did not think too much about the sighting, it was at high altitude and could have been a novelty balloon or other inflatable. However this was not the last time he would see the object. Several weeks later on a Sunday he was back round his friends and sitting in the same garden. It was another hot, clear and sunny day. Peter was watching the skies and observing aircraft on their flight paths. As he was watching one jet airliner through his binoculars all of a sudden the same UFO he had seen previously seemingly appeared from nowhere and hovered in front of the view he had of the plane! It looked bigger this time (probably closer) and the ridges were more clearly defined. Peter could barely believe he was seeing the same unusual object a second time and that it had appeared so close to a passing plane. The object hovered for several seconds. Then without warning it suddenly shot upward vertically at an incredibly fast speed. He was unable to track it with the binoculars, so quickly lowered them and observed a black blurred streak for a couple of seconds before it had left the area. The high strangeness of the sighting and the fact he had again witnessed it from the same location as before caused Peter to laugh. Also the astounding acceleration and flight speed he had seen the object perform confirmed to him that it was something highly unusual and not just a balloon or other mundane object. 07/09/2013 – Glowing Orb On 7th September 2013 Peter was at Bestival music festival at Robin Hill on the Isle Of Wight. It was about 9pm and he and three friends were sitting outside their teepee in the camping area. At an angle of 30-40 degrees in the sky, Peter saw a bright white glowing orb of light suddenly appear. It travelled horizontally at a leisurely speed, Peter estimates roughly 30 mph. Aerial photograph of Bestival, the camping area visible in the background: As he watched the orb got even brighter making it look like it had grown in size. He shouted “Look!” and pointed the light out to his friends. As they turned around to look, the orb started to get dimmer before vanishing. One of the other witnesses suggested that it had been a satellite. However Peter believes the object was at too low an angle in the sky and had appeared to be within the atmosphere. He also felt it was too bright to have been the International Space Station. While a satellite briefly catching the sun’s rays cannot be entirely ruled out there are other mundane explanations which may have explained the orb. Perhaps it was a light on a helicopter or aircraft, or a white LED balloon which then flew into cloud causing it to appear to vanish. It is unlikely that the object was ball lighting as it was a pleasant evening, ball lightning only appears in stormy weather conditions. Conclusion It is clear from the details which Peter has provided that many of the objects he has seen have been extremely unusual. While some of them could possibly be explained away as novelty inflatables, others displayed movement patterns which makes this explanation extremely unlikely. I hope that Peter decides to keep in touch, if so this report may be updated with any further sightings he has going forward. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2014

  • August 2005 – Gaucet Luce, Droitwich Spa – Glowing Disc UFO Sighting & Physical Effects

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Last Updated: 18/04/2014 For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used Jason used to be an avid runner and regularly go out on evening runs with his dog. Late in the summer of 2005 he was out running at Gaucet Luce Golf Club on the outskirts of Droitwich Spa. He would always run the same route and was trying to beat his previous time. He reached the bottom of the valley and was running back up the fairway. Suddenly he noticed a light in the sky. It appeared to be behind a bank of cloud and was quite bright. He initially assumed it was light from the moon but quickly dismissed this notion. Aerial map of Gaucet Luce Golf Club: He stopped running and called for his dog to come nearer. He then looked up into the sky to have a better look at the light. He was astounded to see that the light seemed extremely large in scale, and that the edge of it formed a massive arc. It appeared that he was looking at the edge of a massive disc approximately a mile in diameter. The part he could see he estimated to be about ¼ mile in length. His instinct led him to question this immediately. He felt maybe the moonlight was falling on the cloud and being amplified to appear much brighter than it was in reality. Or perhaps light from the nearby M5 motorway was reflecting off the cloud layer. The next thing Jason became aware of, he was looking down to the ground. As he came around he realised he had “zoned out”. He felt dizzy like he had been drunk. His dog was still alongside him wagging its tail. He felt like he had lost a small amount of time, perhaps 10 minutes. This really bothered him, as did the fact that his dog had remained by his side rather than running off like it would usually do. When he looked up he saw that the massive arc of light in the sky was no longer visible. All that he could do was walk back home and settle down to sleep. A couple of weeks later Jason unfortunately suffered from a major stroke. He wonders if the light he had seen in the sky that night was a hallucination caused by his brain rather than something more unusual. This could have also attributed for the way in which he temporarily zoned out, as there was no real signs that he had been abducted. If the incident wasn’t down to his own perception, there are a number of other explanations. Perhaps the shape of the light really was down to moonlight coming through the cloud layer as he suspected. The theory that the light was from the M5 motorway has merit, however this would usually be a more orange-coloured glow from street lights rather than white light. Another theory is that it was caused by lights from a nearby nightclub hitting the base of the cloud. However searchlight displays such as this tend to be made up of specific shapes such as a ring of circles, and also tend to rotate/move rather than just remain static. The sighting remains unexplained, but I feel it is more likely to be one of the explanations discussed above rather than a giant disc-shaped craft observed in the sky. Something of such magnitude would more than certainly have been seen by other individuals in the area and reported, yet as far as Jason is aware no other sightings of the same thing have ever been released. • 1975 to 1995 - Rio De Janeiro & Cruzerio, Brazil – Sphere, Orb & Unidentified Light Sightings

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 17/04/2014 For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used Introduction Jack now lives down in London, but grew up living at various properties at Rio De Janeiro in Brazil. Since his childhood he has had a number of interesting sightings of unidentified objects in the sky. This report covers each of his sightings before drawing final conclusions. Fiery Black Sphere One evening in 1975 when Jack was 6 years old he was in the back of his mother’s car. It was about 7pm and they were driving in the centre of Rio De Janeiro. Jack was looking out of the rear right window. It was a clear evening with very little cloud in the sky. They were in front of Rio Sul shop when he suddenly saw a black spherical object covered in fire, with a fiery trail behind it. He estimates it was about 1500m high, definitely within the atmosphere. It was at a far distance and flew across the sky horizontally at a very fast speed in the direction of the ocean. Due to the speed he only observed it for a fraction of a second. He immediately told his mother, saying “Look mum, I just saw a meteor or a UFO.” His mother responded “Jack I’m driving. Besides those things do not exist!” Looking back at the incident Jack believes the object may well have been an optical illusion in the car window, but he has informed me of it anyway for interest.  I would agree that the UFO could have been down to a reflection, but find it more likely that it was a meteorite crossing the sky. This may have looked more impressive to Jack than it actually was due to his young age. Three Distant UFOs The following year Jack was lying on his bed round his grandparent’s house in Botafogo, in front of Baia Do Flamengo. It was night time and he was still awake, looking out of the window. It was between 1-2am, and  a warm, clear night with the stars visible. Jack noticed several distant objects in the sky. They were on the far side of Guanabara Bay. The objects were moving then stopping for periods of time. They would move independently and were going up and down as well as left and right in the sky. Sometimes they would vanish from view off the edge of the window, and then come back into view after a short while. They continued to perform these manoeuvres for half an hour. Aerial map of Botafogo (A) and Guanabara Bay (B): At first Jack thought they may be helicopters. However they seemed too high altitude for this, and there did not seem to be any purpose for them to perform these flight patterns for such a long period of time. They also seemed to move faster than helicopters would fly at. Jack says that the Brazilian military did not have many helicopters back then, and he does not believe they would have spared this many for so long to perform a nocturnal exercise. While I would agree that the manoeuvres seemed unusual I do not feel that helicopters can be completely ruled out. Due to his age he did not have a camera at the time, and did not want to wake his grandparents in case they were angry with him. After watching for about half an hour he thinks he must have fallen off to sleep. The following morning he told his family but they did not listen so he soon forgot about the incident. Glowing Orb A year later in 1977 Jack had another UFO sighting. At the time he was living in a house in Barra Da Tijuca, close to a hill known as Pedra Da Gavea. Aerial map showing Barra Da Tijuca (A) and Pedra Da Gavea (B): Photograph of Pedra Da Gavea from ground level: During one night he woke up for no apparent reason at around 3am. He doesn’t know why but he pulled back the curtains, opened his bedroom window and looked outside. Up in the sky in the direction of Itanhanga to the North East alongside the hill was a glowing white orb. It was much brighter than the stars in the background and was moving slightly in the air, floating back and forth gradually. It was quite high up, Jack estimates about 800 metres, and was at an angle of about 39 degrees from his location. Jack observed the object for about half an hour. He feels that it was much too bright to be a distant helicopter. He did not call his parents as they would have just dismissed it as a balloon or something similar. He did wonder if it could have been some kind of atmospheric phenomenon. However earth lights do not last for long periods of time and do not usually appear over urban areas, so I feel this can be discounted. The “Ghost Aeroplane” By 1993 Jack was living in a house on the top of a mountain near Cruzerio, Sau Paulo, which he informs me is known as a UFO hot spot. This location afforded him a fantastic view of the sky and surrounding land. Around 9pm one evening he was standing outside admiring the view. It was a clear evening with only high level cloud. He suddenly noticed an object moving in his direction. It had a red light and a flashing white light characteristic with an aircraft, but it seemed to be much too low down in the sky, only 75 metres above the top of the mountain. It was also completely silent as far as he could tell. Jack was surprised to see it, as it was not a normal flight path for aircraft to take. The object was moving in his direction. It got to about 500 metres from his location when suddenly without warning it turned 180 degrees in a very tight arc and began moving away from him. The whole scenario was quite eerie to Jack so he did not keep watch too much longer. He just told himself it was a plane and went back indoors. But looking back at the incident he feels there was a lot that was wrong with it. Return Of The White Orb The following year after the incident with the “ghost aeroplane”, Jack had another sighting of an unidentified glowing white orb. He thinks it took place in March but cannot be certain. It was about 9.30pm when he happened to look to the North. Roughly 2km away in the direction of Varginha he saw a brightly glowing white light hanging in the sky, much too bright to be a star. It looked very similar to the one he had seen back in 1977. Jack watched the object for about 30 minutes. It appeared to be hovering motionless. After this time he actively chose to stop looking at it. He did not have a camera on him at the time so did not take any photographs. As noted by Jack, the village of Varginha over which the object seemed to be hovering is where a very impressive incident involving a UFO crash and retrieval of live ETs is said to have taken place in 1996. While it may be very easy to dismiss Jack’s sighting as simply a star, he lived at that location for a number of years, so surely he would be used to how the stars looked at that altitude and would be aware of the locations in the sky of the brightest stars. Yet he is certain that this was something else within the atmosphere. Moving Light Just as with his initial 3 sightings, Jack had 3 further sightings on consecutive years in the early 90s. This is likely just down to coincidence. In April 1995 he had arguably his most impressive sighting yet. He was on his way back home one evening and walking up the road that led to his house. He looked to the North and noticed what he first assumed was a star in the sky. It was a little brighter than how stars would normally appear. He estimates it was about 6km away and around 1500 metres high. However he then noticed that the star appeared to be slightly oscillating in the sky. A voice inside his mind told him “Look, this is important.” Suddenly without warning the light shot right across the sky, abruptly stopped for 1 second, then returned to the position it had been at! It moved extremely fast, much faster than a plane would be able to fly at. Jack estimates it had travelled about 50km. He was immediately convinced that this was something highly unusual. The object then seemed to produce a fog of some kind around itself before vanishing, either disappearing from the location it was at, or flying away extremely fast, it was hard to tell which. In total the sighting had lasted for about 20 seconds. Looking back at the incident Jack feels certain that the object was showing itself to him on purpose, perhaps indicating that he was being observed. At the time he attributed the voice in his head to himself, but now thinks that some kind of telepathic communication took place. Conclusion Jack has had some interesting sightings over the years. Although some of them could certainly be down to misidentification of mundane objects, others such as his 1995 sighting have more impressive aspects to them which suggest a more unusual explanation. Due to the number of sightings he has had, Jack suspected he may be a contactee. I put him in touch with a regressive hypnotherapist in London who regressed him on two occasions to try and find out further details about his experiences. Although he did come back with some interesting memories and feelings, there was nothing definite enough to suggest he had been abducted or contacted by ETs. If Jack has any further sightings and decides to stay in touch they may be added to this report. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2014

  • Birmingham Contact Case Report - Grey Visitation, Psychic Abilities

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 09/04/2014 For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used Since beginning looking into contact I have dealt with cases from all around the globe. However its great to sometimes receive details of a case which has happened more locally. This report covers the experiences of a lady from Birmingham who has had experienced an incident involving a Grey being, and possible other related experiences. She got in touch after watching one of my lectures on Youtube. Grey Visitation It was a night back in 2012. Emma was sleeping soundly alongside her partner. She remembers waking up with the feeling of a presence coming into the room. She found that she was unable to move, but felt fully awake. She was certain she wasn’t dreaming, and kept telling herself “You’re awake. You’re awake.” She was extremely frightened by what was taking place. She then became aware of a being alongside her bed, and turned her eyes to look at it. Next to the bed was a slender looking figure. It was about 4-5 foot in height and had pale skin, an oversized head and large black eyes. The figure was a Grey, although at the time she did not know this as she had no interest in the UFO/contact subject. It was as if this being sensed she was frightened, as the next moment she heard a message inside her mind that told her that “everything would be ok”. When she heard this her emotions completely changed. She immediately relaxed and felt a strong sense of love which she finds hard to put into words. After this she was conscious of being in some kind of lift descending downwards, with the being standing next to her. A moment before she had been lying down in her bed, it was like she had jumped forward in time and was now somewhere different. This was her final memory of the night. The next thing she became aware of it was morning time and her partner was waking her up. She felt extremely groggy. Her partner asked her what she had done during the night. When she asked him what he meant by this he informed her that the electrics were all on around the house. At the time she did not ask him to expand on this, but believes that he meant that the lights were all turned on. When she finally told him what she remembered he seemed quite frightened by her experience. Although it felt strange going back to bed the following evening, Emma was able to do so because of how positive the later part of her experience had felt. A few days after the incident, Emma did a drawing of the Grey she had seen and some notes on how the experience had made her feel in her notebook: Psychic Abilities Emma has informed me that recently she has joined a psychic group as she feels she has been picking up on things. Her group leader apparently feels that she is developing at a quickened pace and that she has an interesting future within the field. Emma does not know if these abilities are in any way linked with her contact experience, but many contactees seem to possess one or more psychic abilities, so this would not be surprising. Conclusion Although Emmas visitation experience has some similarities with sleep paralysis, I feel the fact she saw a Grey being without having a background interest in the UFO subject is very significant. Also the way in which it calmed her down by speaking to her telepathically is something which has been reported many times before in other contact cases. Her suspected psychic abilities are another indicator that she may have experienced contact. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2014

  • June 1997 – Halesowen – Speherical UFO Formation Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Last Updated: 10/02/2014 In late December 2013 I was contacted by a gentleman named Kerry Devine. He had been looking through the cases listed on the BUFOG website and realised that his own fascinating sighting was not present, so decided to forward me the details of what he and others witnessed back in 1997. Sighting Details It was dusk on an evening in June 1997. Kerry was on his work shift at the Automobile Association Headquarters on Dogkennel Lane, Halesowen. He was in the West wing of the building which faces in the direction of Brierley Hill. He noticed that 5 of his work colleagues were gazing out of one of the large windows, pointing and chatting to one another excitedly. Kerry was intrigued and walked over to see what all the commotion was about. They pointed up into the sky through the window. The clouds were quite low in the sky and were catching the orange glow of the setting sun. Below the clouds there were what appeared to be a couple of spherical objects moving slowly to the West. The objects were white or silver in colour and were reflecting the setting sunlight, so were definitely solid. They appeared to be at an altitude of about 3-4000 feet. Judging by the distance and estimated height, Kerry feels that they must have each been about the size of a large car. Kerry was informed by his colleagues that there had been about 20 of the objects, but most had already moved out of sight. Aerial map of the sighting location with the location and directional movement of the UFOs added by the wintess: The remaining objects began to perform a series of very unusual manoeuvres. They appeared to be taking it in turns to move vertically up through the cloud layer at incredible speed then descend back down while zig-zagging through the air. This continued for about 10-15 minutes in front of everyone. These manoeuvres would have been impossible for an aircraft to perform. The witnesses could barely believe what they were seeing. However as they were supposed to be working at the time some of them dispersed and returned to their desks. Kerry continued to observe the objects for as long as he felt he could get away with. After a while the objects which had remained behind the main formation seemed to finish their display and fly off rapidly to catch up with the rest of the UFOs. As it happened, to his work colleagues amusement, Kerry was reading a book on UFO sightings at the time. Within the book there was a contact number for the MOD at Whitehall. At around 2am after thinking about whether he would be believed or not, Kerry rang them to report the incident. They took down the details of the sighting. They also denied that there had been any air traffic in the area at that time. Kerry didn’t see his work colleagues again until a couple of days later. When he went back in for another shift he was informed that the Express and Star newspaper and numerous UFO societies had been trying to get hold of him. Kerry wondered how they had found out about the sighting or why they particularly wanted to speak with him. The other witnesses did not seem to want to talk about the incident as they felt it may damage their reputation if they were named. As Kerry is the kind of person who does not deny what he has witnessed, he decided to speak to the Express and Star about what took place. He asked them where they had got their information from and they informed him that the MOD had contacted Brierley Hill police directly with his report. The police had subsequently got in touch with the papers. The article that the Express and Star released made front page news, possibly due to the involvement of the AA. Kerry later found out that there had been other witnesses elsewhere in Halesowen who had also seen the formation. A gentleman who was out walking on the Clent Hills did see the UFOs and also reported it to Halesowen News, but unlike the Express and Star they did not release an article. Kerry continues to have an active interest in the UFO subject. He believes that what he and his work colleagues observed was one of the largest formations of UFOs to have ever been seen over the UK and feels very lucky to have been a part of it. He has also pointed out the similarities between what he saw and the fleet sightings that have been observed and videotaped in Mexico. Newspaper Article Below is the Express and Star article on the incident, which was published on 17th June 1997. Sighting Analysis This is a very interesting sighting indeed and certainly one worth looking into. A possible mundane explanation for such an incident would be a cluster of silver-coloured balloons released into the sky either on purpose or accidentally, and drifting on air currents. Another possibility would be a flock of birds caught in bright sunlight, as they can sometimes appear like small reflective orbs during these conditions. I have actually witnessed this directly on more than one occasion. If the formation had merely floated away into the distance then I would have certainly suggested balloons or birds as an explanation. However the manoeuvres performed by the 2 objects which split away from the main group sound far too controlled to have been caused by gusts of wind. Let’s imagine for a minute that the UFOs seen in this incident were indeed silver balloons or birds. Firstly it is unlikely that just a few would break away from the main group without the others being affected in any way. Then it is highly improbable that one at a time these balloons would be caught in gusts of wind which would cause them to ascend vertically before descending while twisting and turning while the other remained stationary in the sky. Then it is even more unlikely that after doing this for about 10 minutes they would then suddenly stop and move away in the direction that the formation had travelled away at increased speed. Due to these manoeuvres I feel that balloons or birds are an inadequate explanation for what was observed. And the witnesses involved certainly seemed convinced that they had seen something unusual. If the objects were a formation of ET craft, why did the two remain behind and perform this strange series of movements? Kerry feels that they were doing this on purpose as a display for the witnesses. There are many other reported UFO sightings where similar things have been reported, including the fleet sightings in Mexico as Kerry himself highlighted. It is unknown were the UFOs moved off to or how far they continued across the UK. I find it very probable that there were other witnesses who for one reason or another have not shared the details of what they saw. If you have any further information on this incident or saw it for yourself but have never spoken about it please get in touch. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2014

  • 13/11/2013 – Harold Wood – Oblong UFO Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 12/01/2014 For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used Sighting Details At around 8.15 am on the morning of 13th November 2013, Jane was travelling on the 256 bus in Haroldwood, Essex. It was a clear and dry but cold morning. It was very busy, with many other pedestrians and drivers around. The bus was full of passengers, and was on Goodshays Drive travelling South South East towards Harold Wood station. Jane was sitting on the right hand side, which gave her a view through the window to the West. Aerial map of Goodshays Drive: Suddenly she noticed a bright object up in the sky. It appeared to be oblong in shape, similar to a horizontally facing door, and was either brightly reflecting sunlight or glowing a brilliant white colour. No other details were visible on the object. It was hard to tell how far away it was, possibly a mile. It was at an angle of 50 degrees in the sky and seemed to be at high altitude. It appeared to be quite large in size, perhaps similar in size to a large commercial aircraft. Photograph of the sighting location in the direction the UFO was seen: The UFO was moving in a Southern direction. It seemed to be flying extremely fast, much faster than a plane would normally be seen to travel. Jane watched it for about 5 seconds as it moved in parallel to the bus across the sky. Then suddenly it dipped and then vanished from sight. There were no clouds in the area of the sky it had disappeared, it was just gone. Jane was shocked by what she had just seen and looked around the bus, but nobody else appeared to have noticed it. She wondered if others in the local area had also seen it, but has not heard of anyone else speaking of it or reporting on the incident. Due to the appearance and speed of the object she was convinced that she had witnessed something out of the ordinary. Sighting Analysis This is a brief yet unusual sighting. It was unlikely to have been a balloon or other inflatable drifting in the sky and reflecting sunlight due to the high speed of movement observed. It was clear that the object was not a normal aircraft due to its shape, and the witness feels that it was moving too quickly for it to have been a plane. Also the object appeared to vanish in plain sight with nothing to hide it from view, which does not fit with either of these explanations. It was daylight so it is unlikely that the object was a meteorite, and it’s shape does not fit with this either. It is possible that the UFO was actually a reflection of something briefly caught in the window rather than a physical object up in the sky. However this explanation does not really fit the scenario. It was daylight so it is unlikely anyone would have had something with a brightly glowing white rectangular light on it. Also if the light was a reflection from something electronic behind the witness then surely they would have seen this when they looked round to check if anyone else on the bus had seen the UFO? Therefore at present the sighting remains a mystery, although the idea that it was an advanced craft of some kind cannot be ruled out. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2014

  • 13/12/2013 - Blackwell - Green Light With Trail Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 06/01/2014 For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used I always appreciate it when witnesses get in touch very soon after witnessing something unusual in the sky. In this particular case the gentleman contacted me on speaker phone while still driving, within minutes of his experience. Sighting Details At approximately 11pm Gary was on his way to Cannock from Reddich and driving West along the M42 motorway. It was a very clear and calm evening with the stars fully visible. He was about a mile from the junction to the A38 close to the town of Blackwell, when he suddenly noticed something bright off to the left of the motorway in his peripheral vision. He looked round and saw what appeared to be a very bright luminous green light with a long green trail behind it. Gary likened this trail to the afterburner of a jet but much longer. Aerial map of the sighting location on the M42: The object appeared to be about 200 feet in altitude and within a couple of miles of his location. He was travelling quite fast along the motorway, but the object was moving much faster, in excess of 150-200 mph. Gary watched it for about 5-10 seconds as it travelled further and further ahead of him. It did not descend or ascend, but remained on a completely horizontal path. Then suddenly without warning it made a right angle turn to the South, continued for a brief moment and then vanished without trace. Photograph of the sighting location: Gary was absolutely fascinated by what he had just witnessed. He wondered if any of the other drivers on the road had also seen the object. He was left with nothing else to do but continue his journey to Cannock. Sighting Analysis I would like to start by saying that I have no reason at all to not trust the witness. It was obvious when he contacted me from his car that he had just observed something unusual. Also Gary wanted to make it clear that he held a professional management position, had been at work during the day and had not been drinking at all beforehand. The most obvious mundane explanation which could be suggested for this sighting would be a meteorite (shooting star). These are often seen to have a long trail behind them. While green coloured meteorites are unusual, they are indeed possible. The colour of the flame is determined by the composition of whatever is burning up. However there are some aspects of what was seen which do not really fit this explanation. Meteorites tend to move extremely fast across the sky and are usually only observed for a couple of seconds at most unless they are quite large in size. But if we suggest that this object was a large meteorite then it is extremely likely that it would have been reported on the news and observed by many people. This does not appear to have been the case, I can find no mention of this object anywhere online. Also meteorites tend to descend towards the ground as they travel across the sky. The object observed by Gary was moving on a completely horizontal course and did not appear to be reducing in altitude. Lastly there is the fact that Gary saw the object perform a 90 degree turn shortly before it disappeared from sight. Meteorites do not change course as they burn up so this again points away from this as an explanation. If the object wasn’t a meteorite then what could it have been? It appeared to be moving extremely fast and was the wrong colour and appearance to have been an aircraft of some kind. It is very unlikely that it was an out of control missile/rocket due to the location. There are no military bases in the area and again this would surely have been mentioned on the news. We are left with a compelling mystery, one which I cannot at present answer. If you have any further information on this incident or think that you too observed it, please get in touch.
