Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 23/03/2013 For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used Introduction Neil first got in contact with BUFOG in November 2012. For the past decade he has had many contact-related experiences and has always sought answers for what has happened to him. He felt it was finally time to share these experiences with others to aid in their understanding of the subject. I have now spoken with Neil extensively via both E-Mail and phone, and I am convinced he is being sincere about what has taken place. This report provides an overview of his experiences, and features many drawings. A Change Of Direction Neil’s contact-related experiences did not really begin until 1996 when he was 36 years old. It is possible that he had other experiences prior to this which have been entirely blocked out from his mind, but there is no real indication that this has occurred. Up until the winter of 1995 Neil was working in engineering. He had a good amount of expertise and was earning a lot of money from it. One day he was working in the factory on his own when a sense of complete calm came over him. A shaft of sunlight came through the skylight right on top of him. He stopped what he was doing and enjoyed the warmth and silence of the moment. He asked himself a question. “What am I doing with all the professional experience I have if I can’t pass it on?” He has no idea where this came from, but what he was doing felt wrong to him. Soon afterwards he was off work ill with a virus for a number of weeks over Christmas and New Year. During this time he reflected on life and decided to completely change his path and start working with children. Soon afterwards he began working with troubled teenagers. A lady he met at the interview for the job also prompted him to join the Bethel Church in Barnsley, and he began to meditate regularly, both while at church and at home. It is very interesting that Neil’s contact-related experiences seemed to begin soon after this change of direction in his life. This could have just been a coincidence, but are possibly linked in some way. Some people speculate that meditation is a way to communicate with the ETs and can open you up to experiences, and I have investigated numerous cases before where contactees have informed me that they practice meditation. The Glowing Orb It was an evening in early 1996. Neil was up in the bathroom of his house on The Crimbles, Wakefield. His wife Emily was downstairs watching TV. After washing himself he then meditated for about an hour. It was around 8pm when he exited the bathroom. Due to the time of year and the fact that neither the landing or hall light was on it was extremely dark. Rather than switch on the light, Neil decided to just walk to the bedroom in the dark to get dressed, as he had plans to go out. As he entered the bedroom he immediately noticed a glowing white orb of light hovering over a small basket on top of the chest of drawers on his right. It was about the size of a small football, around 20 cm in diameter. He was surprised by its presence but immediately thought it may have a paranormal explanation of some kind. Witness drawing of the orb in the bedroom: He felt that it may have intelligence, so asked it out loud not to be frightened and to stay. But as he did so the orb shot upwards around 4 feet. It then briskly moved across the room heading upward in an arc towards the far top left corner of the room. It took about 3 seconds to cross the room and then vanished into the wall. Witness drawing showing the movement of the orb across the room: The small basket which the orb had been over contained a number of watches, mostly analogue, but one digital. When he checked the watches he found that they had all stopped working and all showed the time 7.45pm. This was 15 minutes before he had entered the room. He was not sure if this was merely coincidence or whether the orb had somehow caused the watches to stop. If they had all been digital this would seem more likely, however most of them were wind up watches, so how would the orb have affected these? Later on he swapped the batteries of the digital watch and it started working again. Neil called Emily and informed her about what had taken place. She seemed supportive and said he should look into what it could have been. He wondered whether it could have been ball lightning. However the weather had not been stormy at the time, and it had appeared inside the house with the window closed and curtains drawn, so this seemed unlikely. It also didn’t match witness descriptions of the phenomenon which he found online. At the time Neil thought that the orb was some kind of spirit energy attempting to contact him. However he now feels that it was linked with his ET contact experiences. Many contactees have reported seeing glowing orbs such as this in their proximity and there certainly appears to be a direct link between incidents such as this and contact. It is possible that these orbs are a visual manifestation of energy, or could even be an actual ET intelligence of some kind, although these are just theories at present. Paranormal Activity Soon after witnessing the glowing orb, Neil began to experience unusual activity around his home. It was as though something had been triggered and life would never be the same again. Neil wonders if through his meditation he was able to channel an ET presence which has remained with him ever since. Most of this activity took place during the night while he was lying in bed. On numerous occasions he was woken from sleep with the feeling of something sitting or standing on the bed. This would usually start down by his feet. He would feel a compression on the mattress and the bedding tighten. It felt like an animal, like a cat or dog. However he had no pets and the window would usually be closed so it could not have been this. Sometimes when this happened he would kick out and it would go away. Other times he let it remain and it would start to move up the bed towards his head. Occasionally it would get close to his face and he could feel some kind of energy coming off whatever it was. He would then get nervous and lash out at it with his arm and it would disperse. Whenever he opened his eyes the presence would immediately disappear, it would only occur if he kept his eyes closed. Even though Emily was sleeping alongside him at the time she never reported feeling anything herself. On other occasions Neil would feel something actually touch him. Typically he would feel a gentle flick on the end of his nose, or something would nudge him on the arm or leg if it was uncovered and hanging out of the edge of the bed. It felt like a finger or hand touching him with pressure applied locally. Occasionally Neil would also suddenly smell the odour of tobacco or sometimes perfume. This would usually occur in the bedroom but one time he smelled tobacco in the car while on his way to work. His and his wife did not smoke, nor did the previous owners of his home or car. Whenever this occurred and his wife was nearby Neil would alert her but she could never smell it herself. The odour would last for several seconds before dispersing. On a rough weekly basis Neil would also hear something say his first name to him during the night. He would hear this either when settling down to sleep, or it would wake him from sleep. The voice sounded audible and close to his left ear usually. It would not always sound the same. Sometimes it would sound male, sometimes female, and sometimes gruff like some kind of animal. He never sensed any aggression in the voice, it just felt like it was greeting him. At first he was very surprised by the voice, but never frightened by it. He was intrigued and wanted to find out more about what could be speaking to him in this manner. Even though Neil shared these experiences with his wife, she would never fully understand as it was so out of the norm. She bought Neil some books on the paranormal to aid in his research. This paranormal activity continues to this day, although appears to be less prevalent. It should be noticed that at no point during any of these experiences does Neil feel he is paralyzed. Often experiences such as these can be put down to side effects of sleep paralysis. However it is clear that this is not the case here. That said, it is possible that some of what he is experiencing could be down to a hypnagogic state, especially as much of what took place has happened during the night while he is either trying to sleep or woken from sleep. Initial Abduction Neil’s first abduction experience took place in late summer of 1997. He had now moved house and was living on Woolgreaves Drive, Wakefield. It was a normal evening and he and Emily settled down to sleep between 11pm-midnight. At some point in the night he suddenly woke up with the feeling of a presence in the room. He believes it was between 3-4am however as he did not look at the clock this cannot be verified. The room appeared to be lit with a very soft white light with no identifiable source. Neil had the feeling that there was something on the landing outside of the bedroom door, something that wanted him to come to it. He looked over at the door which was closed at the time. There appeared to be glowing white light coming through the gaps around the edges. Neil stared at the door for several seconds and watched as this light gained in intensity until it was very bright. Witness drawing showing the glowing light coming from beyond the door: At this point he was very intrigued as to what was outside of the door. He was so engrossed in what was taking place he did not think about his wife at all, who was lying asleep alongside him. He got up out of bed and crossed the room. As he reached out to grab the door handle, the door seemed to fade away into brilliant white light. It was as if the light was actually penetrating through the door. He then saw an arm reach out from the light towards him. Due to the light it was silhouetted. It was slender in shape, and strangely appeared straight edged. Most of the fingers on the hand appeared to be joined together, with just the thumb being separate, almost like a mitten. Witness drawing showing the being’s hand reaching out for his own: The being took Neil by the hand. He was surprised when it did this but not frightened. Its touch felt very gentle and slightly cool in temperature. It felt soft as though the being was of a different density to himself. It then led him into the light. He wondered why the light was so bright yet was not hurting his eyes. As he stepped forward it was like the closed bedroom door was no longer there. He was then able to see more of the being, although it was still silhouetted. It appeared to be about 5 feet in height, humanoid but quite thin, and again straight edged like it’s hand had been. In the light he then noticed two other similar beings. Witness drawing showing the beings standing in front of him: Neil’s reaction to what was going on was one of intrigue and wonder rather than of fear. He wanted to see what would happen next. In his own words he says “I’m not certain I was making cognitive decisions at this time, rather being led by a guardian, like a father helping his son to cross the road for the first time.” When I asked Neil about how the beings moved his answer was very interesting. “That’s the odd thing in the middle of oddness, I do not remember them moving at all, rather continuing snapshots but joined together to form motion without flickering. Very difficult to explain.” He did not try to speak to the beings. This was his last memory of what took place. The next thing he became aware of he was waking up in the morning at around 8am. He thought back to what had happened and felt both energised and in awe. It felt completely different to a dream and he felt certain that it had occurred as he remembered it. He immediately told Emily about what had happened. She confirmed that she had slept through the night without incident. Later on he also told his mother and sister about what had taken place. They seemed supportive though Neil got the sense that it was a bit much for them to handle. At the time Neil did not associate what had taken place with the glowing orb and paranormal activity he had been experiencing previously. However he now believes that it was all connected. The Corridor It was later in 1997. By this time Neil had begun to change in personality and explore his spirituality to a deeper level. He also found he had become more artistic and had written some poetry as a result. His wife had begun to become a little frightened of his experiences and directly informed him of this. Neil awoke at some point during the night to find he was no longer in his bedroom. He found himself floating in a long corridor. The walls ceiling and floor were all a matt medium grey colour and smooth. The edges where the walls met the ceiling and floor were curved. The corridor was about 5 feet wide and 8 feet high. It felt a little cramped, similar to a tight hotel corridor. It was quite dark, but what light there was had no visible source to it. Although he felt like he was actually there and had full awareness and senses, he could not physically see himself. His viewing height was slightly higher off the floor than it would have been if he was physically standing. He felt happy and at peace. At the end of the corridor, about 30 feet away from him, was a wall and a corner which led out of sight. There was a shadow of something being cast on the wall. He wanted to see what lay down there, so began to float along the corridor without looking back the other way. He moved quite slowly, slower than normal walking speed. Neil feels that if he had wished to he could have floated faster but did not feel the need to at the time. As he got nearer he realised the shadow was the shape of a tall Grey being. The shadow was coming up from the lower right corner of the wall diagonally about 6 feet. It had a large pear-shaped head and slender build. It appeared to be unclothed, but could possibly have had skin-tight clothing on. The shadow was completely still. Witness drawing of the corridor and Grey shadow: Neil turned to the right around the corner, fully expecting to see a Grey being. However there were no Greys standing there. Instead he found himself entering a small room down some steps. The room was the same colours as the corridor but the light source was brighter. Standing in the middle of this room was a short and stocky entity, about 2-3 feet in height. It had a general humanoid shape with a head, two arms and legs but no visible extremities such as fingers or toes. It was white in colour and appeared to be translucent. Its most striking feature was two large round emerald green-coloured eyes with black pupils. A white glowing light seemed to be emanating from the being. Behind the being was a rectangular block-like table. There were some other objects in the room but Neil cannot remember what they were. Witness drawing of the room and short being: Neil sensed activity from other life-forms in the room, but his concentration was on the short squat being. He felt he had known this being all his life and felt great compassion for it. He floated towards it and wrapped his arms around it (this is what he felt he was doing; he could not actually see his arms around the being). He then felt gentle energy pushing him backwards. This did not feel in any way threatening. He retreated a short distance and settled. The being spoke to him telepathically. It did not appear to have a mouth. The voice that he heard sounded male, and he sensed a great amount of knowledge in it, similar to how an experienced teacher would speak. It said to him “You have been asking for knowledge and enlightenment. You will receive more but you will have to be patient.” This seemed to be in direct reference to the fact that since 1996 Neil had requested answers to his questions via meditation. At this moment Neil felt like he was dropping off to sleep and his surroundings faded away. He awoke in bed with the image of one of the short being’s eyes staring directly at him. He could not see his reflection in it. He felt completely transparent, like a child being looked over by its mother. With this came a strong feeling of love, to a level he has never felt before or since. The vision lasted for around 15 seconds during which Neil simply stared up in wonder. He felt he was being scanned in some way. Witness drawing of the green eye: After this he blacked out. The next thing he became aware of, he was waking up in the morning. He immediately told his wife about what had happened. She advised him to continue reading into the subject. For the following few weeks he could not stop thinking about what had happened. He felt completely in awe of it and wanted the chance to see the being again. Yellow UFOs Sighting In 1998 Neil used to work in Leeds and would travel to and from work on the M1 motorway. It was late November 1998 and around 2.30pm. Neil had finished work and was on his way home to Wakefield. He had just joined the M1 and Stourton, Leeds and was heading South. It was a sunny day with scattered cloud and a light breeze. He was travelling about 70 mph in the outside lane, and there was lots of other traffic around. Aerial map showing the stretch of the M1 along which the sighting occurred: Neil looked to his right and noticed two objects over by the horizon. They were glowing bright yellow like two small suns, and were at an angle of 60 degrees in the sky. They appeared to be in the lower atmosphere. Each object had a golden glowing corona around it, similar to the sun but much less bright. They looked near to each other and were diagonally spaced. One appeared bigger than the other, although this could have been due to it being closer as it was impossible to judge the distance of the objects. Although it was impossible to tell exactly how big the objects were they did look sizeable, possibly 500 and 400 feet across. They appeared to be hovering motionless in the sky. Witness drawing of the sighting location and glowing UFOs: Photograph from the M1 in the direction the objects were seen in: For the next 10 seconds Neil kept shifting his eyes between the objects and the road ahead. When he next looked back the objects had completely vanished. He continued to look for them for the remainder of his journey but they did not reappear. There are a number of possibilities for what Neil saw on this occasion. Perhaps the UFOs were two helicopters, aircraft or balloons that were catching the sun’s rays and reflecting brightly, obscuring their actual appearance. Perhaps after a short time their angle had changed and they were no longer catching the sunlight in the same way. Another possibility is that they were not really present in the sky and were actually just caused by sunlight hitting the car window. However if this were the case it is likely that they would have reappeared at some point in the remainder of the journey, as it was a bright sunny day. Neil cannot fully rule out the possibility that one of the objects was the sun and the other some kind of mirage caused by reflection in the window. However they did not look bright enough to be the sun, and he was able to look directly at them for several seconds without his eyes hurting. The UFOs did not move so there is no way of telling if they were under intelligent control or not, however this can of course not entirely be ruled out. Colour Changing UFO The following summer, Neil had another UFO sighting. It was a clear summers evening at around 10 pm. He was getting dressed in the rear bedroom. Due to the time the sun had set and it was quite dark in the room. Due to his previous experiences Neil was now an avid sky watcher and would often look up at the night sky. He decided to do so now, so stared out of the window. The view looked out over bungalows and the Nain Barnsley Road. In the distance the area of Sandal Castle could be seen, though the actual castle was hidden from view. Suddenly he noticed a red coloured glowing light about 500 metres high over the Sandal Castle area, half a mile to the South. It  immediately descended rapidly, quickly changing to amber, then to green, similar to a traffic light, before vanishing from sight over where the castle is situated. In total he had only observed it for several seconds. Neil estimates that if the object was self-illuminated it would have been 20-30 feet across, and appeared to descend around 100 mph. Witness drawing of himself watching the UFO: Neil spent weeks thinking about what he had seen and trying to come up with a rational explanation for it. Due to the colours seen he initially thought it must have been reflection from a traffic light. However there were no traffic lights anywhere near the house which could have accounted for the light. Nearby traffic was obscured by the other housing in the area, so it could not have been reflection from a passing lorry or other vehicle. There had been no lights on in the bedroom at the time, and no lit electronic devices which could have reflected in the window. Aerial map of Sandal Castle: The light had descended much too rapidly to have been a helicopter. Also Neil says that the West Yorkshire police helicopter used to regularly be seen in the area, and he was entirely familiar with how this looked after dark. Meteorites do not change colour in the manner that was observed, nor do they tend to descend vertically. To this day the light remains a mystery. Neil says that if it was a genuine sighting of an ET craft, he does not feel it was in any way related to his other experiences, and had just been in the right place at the right time to be seen by him. Ascension It was at least a couple of years before Neil had another experience while staying at his mother’s flat in Wakefield. He cannot recall whether this happened in 2001 or 2002, but it was a typical night in summer time. The weather was mild with scattered cloud. The flat was on the ground floor of a one storey building. At some point during the night between 2-4 am, Neil woke up out of sleep with the feeling of a mild energy around his body. He immediately became weightless and floated up out of his bed. He was lifted straight upwards and passed through the ceiling. As he did so he felt the fabric of the ceiling pass through his body. He was then in the upper flat. He continued upwards, passing through the roof of the building. At this point he was involuntary flipped over 180 degrees so he was now facing downwards. He remembers seeing the roof of the flat, the cars parked down on the road and the nearby school playing fields. He continued to gain height, passing through low lying clouds. He was not frightened by what was taking place but instead felt joyful and thought to himself “Wow at last! I’m finally going to meet my takers.” However this was to be the last thing he would recollect. The next thing he became aware of he was waking up in the morning at around 7.30 am. He explained what had happened to his mother, who said that she had not seen or heard anything during the night. The Elderly Man By 2004 Neil had got divorced and had a new girlfriend Trisha. He was living in a new house on Spring Vale Close in Wakefield. He was recovering from depression for the first time in his life, while continuing a challenging career path. Neil had told Trisha about his prior experiences and she was supportive while remaining closed to them. It was the summer time and both Neil and Trisha were asleep in bed. Suddenly they were both awoken by a strong sudden movement of the bed like it had been pushed. Neil asked Trisha if she had felt it, to which she replied that she had but wanted them to go away. It was clear that she attributed the movement to a ghost. She pulled the covers up over her head. Neil felt too nervous to look around the room but spoke out loud, asking whatever it was to leave them alone so they could get some sleep. Whether this was honoured or not is unclear, but the rest of the night went by without incident. The following evening Neil was on his own in bed and sleeping soundly. Suddenly he felt something slap him on the base of his feet, which were sticking out of the bed covers. It felt like a hand would feel. He initially tried to ignore it as he was tired and had work in the morning. Due to his previous experiences he was already accustomed to being touched by unseen forces. A while went by, maybe an hour. Then it happened a second time! It was clearly trying to get his attention. Neil was lying on his back, and so lifted his head off the pillow and peered around the room. He saw a figure standing in the shadows of a vestibule in the corner of the room. He immediately felt that this was a spirit visiting him, and not a burglar standing in the room or an ET visitation. Neil was intrigued and wanted to see the figure more clearly. He called to it and asked it to show itself and not to be frightened. The figure stepped forward out of the shadows. It was an old man who appeared to be at least 60 years old. He had long silver grey coloured hair. He was wearing what appeared to be a whit coloured butchers-style coat covered in buttons and loops, and black and silver striped trousers. Witness drawing of the elderly man: The figure walked around to the left hand side of the bed and reached out towards his hand. Neil reciprocated and reached out to hold the hand of the man. At this moment he lost consciousness. When he came round it was early morning. He remembered what had happened with the man but had no further recollections. He felt strangely tired and drained of energy. It is unknown whether this encounter was in any way linked with Neil’s contact experiences or not. The figure looked completely human so this possibly suggests that it was a ghost as Neil tends to feel that it was. However ETs are known to often mask their appearance, so could this have been an ET appearing in this manner? It is interesting that when Neil reached up to hold the hand of the figure he blacked out. This is very similar to some of his other experiences which appear to have involved ET beings, and this is also a very common aspect of contact in general. This suggests that more may have taken place which he cannot currently remember. The Entity By 2006 Neil had begun to question whether his experiences were actually taking place. He sought comfort in the fact that many other people from all around the world have reported very similar experiences to those he had faced. However something very different to his prior experiences was about to commence. Neil began to be woken during the night by an invisible “entity” in the room. This entity would sometimes make barking and snarling sounds similar to a wolf. Initially Neil did not feel threatened by this and felt that it was trying to communicate with him. However on one occasion he awoke to feel a strong energy force very close to him. This energy seemed to pulse in waves. It immersed itself inside of him. At this moment he felt like it had taken him over and he had become this other being. He felt he had taken on its personality alongside his own, and he began to make growling and snarling sounds. He felt he still had some control of the situation and so willed this entity to leave his body. It appeared to do so and dispersed. After this incident he continued to sense and hear the entity in the room at night, but whenever it was present he would will it to stay away from him, and it never took him over again. In mid-2011 the experiences with this entity seemed to draw to a close, and he has not encountered it since. Black UFO Sighting It was an evening in December 2011. Neil and Trisha were on their way back to Wakefield travelling North along the M1 motorway. It was around 8.30pm and due to the time of year was already dark. The weather was clear and the stars and moon were visible in the sky. They were approaching the junction to the M62 when suddenly Neil’s attention was drawn to an object in the sky off to the left of the motorway. It appeared to be in trouble and descending. Neil pointed it out to Trisha saying “There’s an aircraft over there and it’s going to crash”. Trisha too began to watch the object. At first they thought it must be a helicopter, as they were quite close to the West Yorkshire Police Helicopter station. However they soon realised it looked quite different to a helicopter. The object flew over the motorway in front of them and they were now able to get a better look at it. Aerial map of the stretch of the M1 along which the sighting took place: It was about 50 metres in length, 2 metres in depth and black in colour. It appeared to have an angular upswept section towards the rear, and was nothing like anything either Neil or Trisha had seen before. There were a number of white and blue lights on the object, although the number of these is not known for sure. When Neil watched it cross the motorway it appeared to have one white light and one blue light. The UFO looked like it was going to crash into the embankment on the far side of the motorway. It descended very low behind some nearby electrical pylons, but then suddenly lifted back up and began flying along the edge of the motorway heading southward. Witness drawing showing the UFO over the far embankment: By this time they had been observing it for around 2 minutes. Neil continued to peer back over his shoulder at the object but had to keep one eye on the road. It was silhouetted against the dark blue coloured skyline. It appeared to be flying on a straight and level course, but occasionally seemed to drop in height and then rapidly lift back up again. Witness drawing of the UFO travelling alongside the motorway: Trisha was able to get a better look at the object as it flew off into the distance out of sight. She said that from the rear it looked like a shallow W shape with a row of lights along the side. It was almost like it had changed shape, although this could have been down to the angle it was now being viewed at. Whatever it was, it was clearly something out of the ordinary. The object was last seen heading off in the direction of Calder Valley radio mast. Witness drawing showing the UFO departing the area: Reptilian Involvement Neil owns a property on the shore of Tuzla Lake in Turkey. In late May – early June 2011 he was on holiday for two weeks doing maintenance work on the house on his own. On one of the nights during this holiday he awoke to feel the familiar sensation of a presence in the room. He felt it was around 2 am but did not check the time. Neil initially tried to ignore this and continued to lie on his side. However he soon became aware of a strange dim light filling the room, similar to that which he had seen during his initial abduction experience back in 1997. He turned over to look around and was immediately greeted by the sight of a Mediterranean man lying alongside him on the bed about three feet away, partially covered by the bed sheets. The man was turned to the right looking towards him, with his head propped up by his right arm. He had short black hair, tanned skin and a toned slender body. He looked perfect in complexion and features, and Neil was immediately aware that this figure was an ET masking its true appearance. He has no idea how he knew this was the case. Witness drawing showing the initial appearance of the ET: He commented on the being’s perfection saying to it “You are very beautiful.” The being responded saying “Thank you.” Neil then became suspicious of the being and said to it “Why have you come to me as a male? You are not what you pretend to be, if you return come in your natural form.” He then rolled back over and lost consciousness. Neil’s reactions may seem odd given the circumstances, but are commonly reported during contact experiences. Often the individual will act in an unusual manner, and react differently to how they would usually react. This may be something done on purpose by the ETs, or could be a natural side effect of interacting with these beings. When asked about his reactions Neil informed me “It was like a control mechanism. I was completely me so to speak, but without fear or anger, like the base fight-or-flight reaction had been stripped away. I was utterly in control and comfortable with it.” When asked about why he rolled back he said “I was disgusted with it for attempting to fool me, guess that was my ego kicking in. I instructed it basically to come back to me in its true form and rolled over in a kind of superior disgust like I was in charge, very unusual behaviour for me back then I have to say. I felt in control at the time.” Regarding the way in which he lost consciousness I asked Neil if this was akin to being sedated. He confirmed that this was a very good way of describing how it felt. Later in the night Neil awoke again. Without opening his eyes he immediately had the mental image of a lizard-like creature, which he later learned was a Reptilian, one of the more commonly reported ET species. At first he could only see its eyes and the lower part of its forehead. The eyes were yellow with a brown vertical slit across their middle. The forehead was covered in green-brown coloured scales and appeared stretched tight over a wide heavy-structured head with prominent eyebrows. Witness drawing of the Reptilian’s eyes: Neil immediately felt very defensive and on guard. He also felt sure that this was the same being that he had seen earlier in the night now showing its true appearance. He remembers trying to speak to the being in his mind but cannot remember what he said. The being then suddenly leapt towards him. Neil was startled and lashed out with his left hand at the being. It seemed to pass right through him and disappear, and at this moment he again blacked out. Again he woke back up from sleep. It felt to him only a short amount of time had gone by. He now saw the arm of this being held above his head. It was almost as if it was holding it out so he could inspect it. The arm was thick and muscular and covered in green-brown coloured scales. It had three fingers and a thumb which again were quite wide and not overly long. Each had a thick brown nail towards the end. These were not like claws and did not extend past the end of the digits. The entire arm and hand was about 4 feet in length. Witness drawing of the Reptilian’s arm: Neil stared intriguingly up at it for several seconds. He felt a strange connection to this being, almost like a son to a father. Because of this feeling, he reached up and took hold of the arm and wrapped it around himself. Once more he lost consciousness. This would be the last memory he had from the night, the next time he awoke it was morning. Like his previous experiences, he felt unrested and drained of energy. However he was also concerned by his recollection of the being leaping towards him, it felt aggressive and out of place with the rest of the experience. I have looked into numerous other cases where Reptilians have been seen, often working alongside other species. The sight of these beings often causes great fear in the contactee, no doubt partially caused by their fearsome appearance. However while Neil felt threatened when the vision of this being leapt towards him, he also felt a deep sense of connection to it. This suggests that it was not the first time he had seen it, although he has no previous memories of meeting it. Diamond Shaped UFO It was an afternoon in March 2012. The weather was bright and sunny with some scattered cloud. Neil was out with Trisha in Wakefield. It was about 4.30 pm and they were driving along the High Street North West from the city centre, travelling towards a garage to collect Trisha’s car. There were lots of other people around going about their business. Neil suddenly noticed a diamond-shaped object travelling very fast from the North East. It skipped across the sky for approximately a mile heading towards them. Then it came to an abrupt stop in front of the car, about 300 metres away and roughly 100 metres in the air. It appeared to be about 30 feet in diameter. The object then began to tumble over and over for around 10 seconds. Its upper half was metallic silver and its lower half matt black. Witness drawing of the UFO: Neil pulled the car over and insisted that both he and Trisha get out of the car and observe the UFO. Trisha was a little resilient to this at first but got out of the car and they both continued to watch the object. It continued to tumble then began to ascend into the sky in a spiralling upward lift until eventually it was lost from sight. In total the sighting lasted about 10 minutes. During the sighting Neil attempted to get other people’s attention but they completely ignored him. It felt strange, almost like they were switched off. Witness drawing showing the sighting location and movement path of the UFO: Once it had disappeared from sight Neil and Trisha got back in the car and continued their journey discussing what they had seen. The object was clearly not a helicopter or other normal aircraft. However there is the possibility that it was some kind of large inflatable. The way in which it tumbled over and over and then slowly ascended in a spiralling motion is suggestive of a light weight floating object getting caught and carried by air currents rather than something under direct control. It is interesting that it appeared to suddenly come to a halt after moving swiftly towards their location, but this particular aspect is not enough to designate intelligence. Perhaps other people did witness the object but put it down to a balloon, so did not pay much attention to it. Multiple Abductions? By June 2012 Neil had moved in with Trisha at a house in Castleford. However this change of address did not signify the end of his experiences. Due to Neil being a light sleeper, and Trisha also having sleep-related issues, they usually sleep in separate rooms. One night in June, Neil awoke at an unknown time. It was still fully dark outside. He then felt a calming energy surround him and he was lifted up off the bed. As with most of his experiences, he did not try to fight what was happening, he felt surprised and intrigued. He began to float across the bedroom towards the closed window. When he reached it, he felt himself begin to pass through the window. At this moment he blacked out and had no further memories of what took place. The following night the same thing happened again. Once more he saw himself lifted up out of the bed and floated across the room. Like before he then fell off to sleep. But later in the same night it occurred a second time. However on this occasion he sensed something in his groin area. When he let go of the bed he floated across the room and into the cupboard rather than the window. Once again he blacked out and his next recollection was of waking up in the morning. The following day was bright and sunny, which led to a warm and still night.  Neil awoke at some point between 2-4 am lying on his back. This was unusual for a start as Neil never sleeps on his back, he always lies to one side. He felt that he was being held down by two beings, one holding each of his wrists. He felt the sensation of a screen or barrier of some kind across his waist, and also found that he could not move his lower half, only his upper body and head. There was a gentle pins and needles sensation in both of his legs. When he opened his eyes he found he could not see anything, it was completely black. However he did not try to struggle against what was happening. Despite the unusual situation he felt quite comfortable and relaxed. Neil then felt his left testicle being lifted below the screen. He sensed that there was a third being down there who was performing an examination procedure of some kind. For some reason he knew that they were taking semen samples. Whether he knew this because of a prior event or knowledge that was somehow transferred to him is unclear. His attention was mostly drawn towards the two beings holding his wrists. About ten seconds went by and then he felt the being on his left release its grip on his arm. At this point he rolled his upper body to the right. His legs were still paralysed. He reached out with his left arm and took hold of the being on his right, pulling it close to his face. The being did not appear to react to this and allowed itself to be dragged closer. It remained completely silent. It felt slender and appeared to be unclothed with smooth skin. Neil was puzzled as to why he was not allowed to see it, and felt that the beings were deliberately obscuring his vision of what was taking place. He could sense energy surrounding the being and feel its presence close to his skin. Neil says that the reason that he pulled the being close to him was  to attempt to stop it from being frightened of him, to show them he did not mean to do them harm. Neil was happy to go along with what was taking place. As with many of his other experiences he felt completely relaxed with the situation. He let go of the being and rolled back over, offering his left arm to the being which had let him go. It grabbed hold again and at this point he felt himself dropping back off to sleep. These incidents suggest that Neil may have been abducted on numerous nights in a row and had the memories largely blocked out. The experience with the beings is particularly intriguing. Neil felt that he was still in the bedroom while this was taking place. However the ETs do not tend to perform examinations on contactees directly in their room, they would usually take them aboard a craft for such procedures. As Neil had no vision at the time, it is possible that he was no longer in his bedroom when thus took place. Perhaps due to the fact he was lying down he assumed he was still in his bed, but was actually elsewhere. At present we cannot say for sure either way. Looking back at the incident Neil believes that the beings were Greys, although he did not see them directly so this is not a certainty. It is possible these experiences were vivid dreams/flashbacks brought on by previous incidents, rather than actually taking place at the time, although the experience with the beings does sound quite physical. Communication A couple of months later in August 2012 Neil believes that an entity of some kind attempted to communicate with him. He awoke in the night to the sense of a presence in the bedroom to his left. He did not open his eyes. He then felt energy surrounding him and something drawing energy from the centre of his head. When I asked Neil to describe how this felt he informed me “It’s like a magnetic pull. It draws out your mind, and you can feel your mind leaving the centre of your brain into a new frequency, like you are being transferred into their dimension.” Neil knew that something was trying to communicate with him, so he relaxed and did not fight back against what was happening. He began to hear faint sounds like a female voice screaming. He let the energy go deeper into his mind and then heard a female voice say “Go on, go on.” The voice sounded like than of an elderly lady. At this point there was then silence followed by a deep guttural growling sound. Neil took this as an attempt to frighten him. He broke free from the energy surrounding him and it seemed to dissipate. He said out loud “Pathetic, you will never frighten me!” He then rolled over and naturally dropped back off to sleep. It is unknown whether this incident was linked with his contact experiences or not. While some of the elements suggest that it was, such as the sense of a presence in the room and of energy around him, it seems very unusual that the ETs would try to frighten him in this manner. The incident seems at odds with his other experiences where he has felt very comfortable and relaxed with what has taken place, even when it has involved direct interaction with the beings. Surely if they wanted to communicate they would do so directly rather than use cryptic words and growling noises? It is possible that this, and maybe some of Neils other experiences, have been caused by hypnogogia. This is an unusual state of mind which can sometimes occur, usually when dropping off or waking from sleep. During a hypnogogic experience the individual can experience a wide number of effects, which can include hearing strange sounds or voices. Or another possibility is that there was another paranormal explanation for this incident, and an entity of a different type was interacting with Neil. Could it have been the same entity which he had heard making barking/snarling noises on previous occasions? Missing From The Room On 25th November 2012 both Neil and Trisha retired to bed at about 11.30pm. They were feeling restless so decided to sleep in separate rooms to not disturb each other’s sleep. At some point during the night Neil awoke with the familiar sense of a presence in the room. He also had the sensation of pins and needles throughout his whole body, but unlike the experience where his legs had been paralysed he found he could still move freely. He rolled over onto his back to have a look around the room. He looked at the window, which had the curtains drawn. Suddenly there was a bright flash of white light followed by several other points of light going on and off outside the house. He then became weightless and lifted off the bed, and began to float towards the window. At this point when trying to recollect what happened next Neil’s memories are very fractured. He cannot remember anything visually but does recall the feeling of having an unclothed humanoid female on top of him who he proceeded to have intercourse with. He awoke at 7.45am and called Trisha into the room. When he spoke with her she asked him where he had been during the night. He asked her what she meant and she said that she had come into the bedroom at 4am but Neil was not in bed. She had then checked for him elsewhere in the house and he did not appear to be anywhere. This is a very interesting incident which contains some aspects that Neil had experienced on prior occasions, and other aspects which were completely new to him. The fact that he saw lights outside the window and was then lifted off the bed and floated across the room suggests that an abduction took place. Although Neil had no visual confirmation of what happened, he is convinced that this experience had a sexual element to it. Other male contactees have described very similar encounters during their experiences. During an experience of this type, the contactee will often meet with a female human (or human looking) being who will then proceed to have sex with them. Usually they will feel a deep connection with this being even if it is the first time they have met them. They will feel drawn to perform the act, which can lead to feelings of guilt or the sense that they have been controlled against their will. It is theorised that these experiences are in some way linked with the hybrid program. The fact that Trisha entered the room at 4am and confirmed that Neil was not present there or elsewhere in the property is interesting evidence supporting the idea that Neil had been physically taken. There is the possibility that he was sleepwalking and had left the house, however Neil says that he is not prone to sleepwalking, and it would seem an odd coincidence that this would take place the same night as his experience. Conclusion As you can see, Neil has had many fascinating experiences over the years. Many of these experiences are closely linked with contact, and whatever your thoughts on the subject, it is clear that Neil is a contactee. His experiences have featured both the Reptilians and Greys, two of the more widely reported species, as well as other beings which I have not heard described before (Which may or may not have been down to screen memories) His UFO encounters, many of which have been also witnessed by others, are very intriguing. However none of them feature direct interaction so it is unclear whether or not they are related to his contact experiences. It is possible he has just been in the right place at the right time, and while some are highly unusual none of them are definitely confirmed as advanced craft under intelligent control. What is unusual about this case is that although Neil is a repeat contactee he has no memories of any childhood experiences with these beings. The majority of repeat contact cases tend to go right back to an early age and will often extend into numerous generations of a family blood line. However as mentioned earlier, Neil’s experiences seemed to begin after he began to explore his spirituality to a deeper level. Perhaps through doing this he somehow opened up a communicative path with these beings, although there are of course many people who think deeply on this subject who do not experience contact. Neil has had experiences from the mid 90s up until late 2012, so I find it very unlikely that his experiences would cease now. He welcomes further contact with the ETs and seeks answers to what has happened to him. If Neil has any further experiences going forward and he keeps in touch with BUFOG then this report may be updated. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2013

  • 14/09/1972 – Solihull – Disc UFO Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Last Updated: 11/02/2013 For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used This report covers a stunning multiple witness sighting of a disc-shaped craft seen in the area of Sheldon in 1972. It features a detailed overview of the experience provided by one of the witnesses, a written statement from one of the other witnesses and numerous drawings. Sighting Details Back in 1972 Sarah was 12 years old. She and her family used to live on the Coventry Road on the outskirts of Solihull. The houses at this location are up on an embankment and are very close to the South West corner of Birmingham International Airport. Aerial map showing the sighting location on the Coventry Road: Aerial map showing the proximity of the location to Birmingham airport: It was 8pm on the evening of 14th Septmeber 1972. Due to the time of year it was already dark, and the weather was cold but still. From what she remembers she was outside the front of the house. She looked to the North and saw a disc-shaped object in the gap between two trees growing on the embankment. She pointed the object out to her mother, younger sister Karen and several neighbours, who were also present. Modern photograph of the sighting location in the direction the UFO was seen. The two trees on the embankment no longer exist, and on the opposite side of the road Eagle Court has now been built: The UFO was a smooth curved metallic disc. From their position it filled the 15 foot gap between the trees. It appeared to be around 200 yards away from them on the other side of the Coventry Road, and they were viewing it at an angle of about 45 degrees. Sarah estimates it was about 20 feet in diameter, and about 15 feet in depth. Around the circumference of the object were two rows of bright multicoloured lights. One of these rows were moving in a clockwise direction and the other moving anti-clockwise. Sarah wonders if these lights were the UFO’s power source. There were no other markings on the object but it was clearly visible. Sarah’s drawing of the UFO: UFO artwork Sarah found online which reminds her of the UFO: The object was hovering completely still in the air. As they continued to watch, Sarah noticed that there were a number of helicopters moving around in the sky near to it. They appeared to be observing it. Everyone continued to excitedly watch what was happening for 20 minutes. After this time, the object suddenly vanished. To Sarah’s recollection, nobody observed the object through binoculars or attempted to photograph or video it. After the experience, Sarah says that everyone was strangely quiet about what they’d seen. Nobody spoke about the incident for a number of months. She thinks perhaps this was due to how shocked everyone was. Sighting Analysis This is a very impressive sighting, and one which has all the hallmarks of a genuine craft sighting rather than mis-identification of something mundane. It was clear that it was a metallic disc with rows of coloured lights. Due to the fact it was observed for a good period of time by multiple witnesses it must have been actually present in the sky and not a visual hallucination of any kind. Due to the relative close proximity of the object it is clear that it was not any known commercial/military helicopter or aircraft. There are a number of reasons why it is very unlikely to have been an electronically lit inflatable. Firstly it remained completely stationary for 20 minutes. If it was a balloon it would certainly have drifted during this time on air currents. The only way in which it could have remained stationary for so long would be if it was tethered. But then how would the object have suddenly completely vanished from view? It would have remained until it was pulled back down to the ground. Also we need to take into consideration the fact that helicopters seemed to be observing the object. This suggests that individuals at Birmingham airport were aware of the presence of the object, and had sent out helicopters to get a closer look at it. If it was nothing more than an inflatable then they would have quickly lost interest in it. If it was tethered, it would have been pulled down. An unusual aerial object this near to the airport would certainly have caused concern and possibly viewed as a hazard to planes taking off or landing at the airport. In October 2012 I investigated an incident involving a black sphere over Sheldon within ½ mile of the Coventry Road. In this case the airport sent out a police helicopter to locate the object and planes were also redirected for a number of hours (Click here for the official case report) Could something similar have occurred here? It is also unlikely that the object was some kind of remote controlled model designed to look like a UFO. It appeared to be quite large in size, so would have needed quite a considerable method of propulsion in order to stay airborne. Also it was a clear night, so surely the witnesses would have seen it fly away rather than suddenly vanish? It is a pity that Sarah’s mother or neighbours did not think to photograph or video tape the object, especially due to the length of the sighting. However they were probably too busy watching what was taking place and it did not come to mind. This is not suspicious in any way, and is the reason why many sightings end up with only testimonial evidence to back them up. I have asked Sarah’s sister and mother for testimonials to include in this report. Once I hear back from them they will be included. Sarah has informed me that she has had a couple of other interesting sightings over the years, which she will share with me in due course. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2013

  • 12/11/2013 – Banbury – Rectangular UFO Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Forwarded by UFO Info Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 12/01/2013 Sighting Details At approximately 10.25pm on the evening of 12th November 2013 Benjamin was letting his pet dog out into the garden of his house in the North East of Banbury, Oxfordshire. It was a clea, cold and still night with the moon and stars visible. He noticed an object in the sky out of the corner of his eye. To the North East, at an angle of about 45-55 degrees, was an object which he initially assumed to be an aeroplane. However he soon realised that the object had no navigation lights visible on it. He looked harder at the object and was amazed by what he saw. The main body of the object was a curved rectangular shape. But on one side of the object was what looked like a large shark fin shaped triangular protrusion which was sloped downward at an angle of about 45 degrees. Both the main body and the fin-shaped protrusion appeared to be metallic silver in colour. There was a bright orange coloured aura around the object. This glow appeared to be emanating from the entire object and did not change in brightness at any point. Benjamin ruled out reflection from street lights as it was glowing for the duration of the sighting, even when far away from any street lighting on the ground. There was a short orange trail behind the object which was about twice the length of the object itself. This trail appeared to be light dispersion rather than actual vapour or material coming off the object. Witness drawing of the UFO and location: It appeared to be between 500-1000 yards from his location. If it was indeed this far away then Benjamin estimates it was quite large in size, perhaps 2-3 times as big as a commercial airline passenger plane. There was no sound coming from the UFO, and Bejamin believes that if it had been making a noise he would have been close enough to have heard it. The M40 motorway passes close to Benjamin’s house, and it was over this that the object was situated. It seemed to be moving in parallel to the motorway, travelling in a Southern directiuon. It seemed to be moving nearly twice as fast as a passenger aircraft would cross the sky. Aerial map of junction 11 of the M40, over which the UFOwas situated: Benjamin watched the object travel on a straight path until it reached the boundary of the town. Then suddenly without warning it greatly increased in speed. It pitched up and to the left, then down to the right in an elongated S shape. After about 2 seconds he lost sight of it behind the house adjacent to the garden. He was quite puzzled by what he had just witnessed and could not explain it logically. The appearance of the object, its sudden increase in speed and manoeuvres were very hard to explain. Sighting Analysis This is a very interesting sighting indeed. The appearance of the object is certainly highly unusual, and I cannot think of any other case where something similar has been reported. It was clearly not a conventional aircraft of any kind. Neither its appearance or the unusual manoeuvres it performed would fit this explanation. Could the object have been an odd-shaped Chinese lantern? Obviously lanterns are quite small in size, so if this was indeed what was seen then the object would have had to have been much closer to the witness than it appeared to be. As there is no point of reference in the sky this can sometimes happen. If it was indeed a lantern this would explain the orange glow around it. Perhaps it was travelling on a particular air current, and then suddenly got blown around by another gust of wind. This could possibly explain the sudden increase in speed and unusual curving manoeuvres which it performed before it vanished from sight. However lanterns do not tend to leave a trail behind them at all. Also the shape is extremely unusual - Most lanterns are cylindrical or rounded in shape. Most aspects of the sighting do not fit in with a lantern explanation, and I feel it would be clutching at straws to say that it did. If it was not a lantern, then what else could it have been? A novelty shaped inflatable would not have had any glow coming from it. A hand glider or hot air balloon would have moved slower and would not have performed the highly unusual movement patterns observed at the end of the sighting. After looking into the aspects of the case I cannot provide an answer for what was seen at present, meaning that this object remains unidentified. If you have any further information on this incident please get in touch. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2014

  • 11/05/2013 – East Preston – Rectangular UFO Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Forwarded by UFO Info Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 07/01/2013 Fore reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used Sighting Details On the afternoon of 11th May 2013 at approximately 3.55pm, Terry and his 12 year old son Lee were sitting in stationary traffic in their car. They were on a road that runs from East to West. It was a cloudy and unsettled day but was not raining. Suddenly Terry realised that there was one particular “cloud” moving faster than the others. It was white in colour but perfectly vertical and shaped like a narrow rectangle! It was travelling to the South East at a slow speed heading out over the English Channel. He was looking up at it at an angle of about 45 degrees, but had no idea of how high in the sky it was or how large it was. Aerial map of East Preston beach: Terry pointed the object out to his son, who confirmed that he could see it too. They watched it for about 30 seconds after which it either vanished or was lost from sight behind other clouds. Sighting Analysis Terry says that if it had been any other shape he would have dismissed it as a cloud. But the object maintained its rectangular shape for the duration of the sighting. He says that there is still a possibility this is what it was, but he would be very surprised. Due to the colour of the object, way in which it seemed to fade away and no manoeuvres which would indicate it was controlled in any way I feel that the most likely explanation is a cloud which just happened to appear rectangular in shape. An alternative explanation would be a solar airship drifting in the sky. These sometimes tip up vertically in the air and can appear like a long thin rectangle when viewed from a particular angle. However there are several reasons why this explanation is unlikely. Solar airships are usually launched on clear sunny days as the heated air inside them is what gives them lift. But it was an overcast day with no sun visible. Purchased solar airships are usually black in colour as they are required to soak up as much sunlight as possible. It is possible to make one out of bags, but these usually have a more segmented appearance like a worm rather than a completely straight rectangle/cylinder. Also the fact that it was overcast and the clouds were moving across the sky indicates that the wind was blowing. Solar airships only tip up completely vertical in still weather conditions, if there are air currents then they are usually buffeted making them appear like a moving snake in the air. After looking at the information provided by the witness I feel the most likely explanation is an odd-shaped cloud, although of course I cannot say this with absolute certainty. Unfortunately Terry did not get back in touch after providing the initial details so this is the only information available on this incident at present. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2013

  • May 1999 – Hong Kong – Grey In Pod Incident

Birmimgham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 07/01/2013 This truly bizarre incident involves the close observation of what looked like a Grey ET by many witnesses. Although it could well have a mundane explanation it is still a worthwhile case to report. The details below have been taken from a detailed letter and drawing passed onto me via a BUFOG member, who is friends with of one of the witnesses. For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used Incident Details In May 1999 James was on a business trip to Taiwan, Hong Kong and a few cities in mainland China. He was travelling with a work colleague Chris. Their first stop was in Taichung in Taiwan where they stayed for a week. After this they flew into Hong Kong. Before work began on the Monday they had the weekend to explore the city. They were staying at the Royal Pacific hotel on Canton Road in the Tsim Shat Sui district. Photograph of the Royal Pacific Hotel: It was the first day of the weekend and they decided to go to the Golden Arcade near to the Sham Shui Po MTR station to look for PC components they could take home with them. They set off along Canton Road towards the Tsim Shat Sui underground station on Nathan Road, which was about 5-10 minutes walk. Aerial map showing the location of the hotel (A) and Tsim Shat Sui underground station (B): It was a typically busy day in the city with bustling people everywhere. As they approached the station they noticed a very large crowd of people that appeared densely packed around something. This crowd was at least 9 people deep and drew James’ attention. He wondered if something bad had happened or if the people were watching a street performer. Whatever it was, it was drawing a lot of peoples attention. Chris was anxious to get to the underground station, but James’ curiosity got the better of him and he walked over to the crowd to see what they were all looking at. He managed to push his way through the people. And then his breath was immediately taken from him as he saw what everyone was looking at. On the road about 15-20 metres from his position was a smooth ovoid shaped “pod” mounted on a flat base. It was about 2 metres in length, one metre in width and 1.5 metres in height. The pod was transparent like glass but seemed to be less reflective than glass would usually be. Inside the pod was a being in a reclined lying down position. It was green-brown in colour and shaped like a Grey, with an oversized head and black eyes. It was about 1.5 metres in length. The being was not moving at all. It was unclothed and was lying on a yellow coloured material. On the far side of the pod James could see a ring of other people who all appeared in awe and shock at what they were looking at. Photograph of the incident location: Witness drawing of the being and pod: James looked around and saw a policeman who was standing a little closer to the pod than everyone else. He appeared to be stopping people from getting closer to it. He had a nervous look on his face and held a walkie talkie close to his chest as if he was expecting to receive a message at any moment. His gaze returned to the being inside the pod. He stood and watched it for about 5-10 minutes, trying to rationalise what he was witnessing. What was it doing there? Was it real or just a model? If it was real was the being alive or dead? If it wasn’t real then who put it there and for what reason? After watching it for a while James realised he had to return to his colleague and continue his journey. He lef the circle of onlookers none the wiser to what was going on. He told Chris all about what he had seen as they made their way to the station. The following week when he arrived back in the UK, James checked on the internet to see if he could find any further information about what he had seen, but he could not find anything. Incident Analysis Due to the level of detail given in the letter I am convinced that the witness saw what he says he did. There are a number of possibilities which could explain what took place. These can be summarised as follows. 1) It was some kind of stunt for a hidden camera show. 2) It was a practical joke set up by an unknown individual or individuals. 3) It was a model or prop designed for a movie or museum which had accidentally fallen off a vehicle onto the road. 4) It was a real ET being either dead or asleep in a pod of some kind. The most important question to ask though is whether it was real or a model. There are a number of extremely valid reasons for why it was more than likely a model rather than an actual ET. Firstly it occurred in broad daylight in the middle of an extremely busy city. If it was a real ET and had been placed there in the pod during the night then it would have been discovered soon afterwards as it was in the middle of the road blocking the traffic. The authorities would soon have been informed of its presence. Soon after this the area would no doubt have been cordoned off by the military or police so nobody would have been able to get anywhere near it, or even removed from the area and taken away elsewhere. It is extremely unlikely that the only presence of authorities in such a scenario would have been a single police officer. Also news of the incident would soon have spread and it is very likely it would have been written about online and in newspapers. The fact that when James returned home he could find no mention of the incident online suggests that no operation of this magnitude took place either before or after he was present at the location, which points towards it being a model rather than an actual ET. You would also have to consider why the ETs would drop off one of their own in a pod in the middle of a road in full sight of everyone. It was clear that that pod was not a craft which had crash landed, as there was no debris or signs of impact around it. In most cases ETs act in a covert manner, and when people have seen them it is usually while alone or in more remote locations rather than the middle of a highly populated city. The experience of coming across such a thing just lying there would certainly have be impressive for the witnesses involved, so I am not surprised that James considers that the being may have been real. It is clear from James’ letter that being and pod it was in were extremely convincing, so if it was a model it was a very well made one. Therefore it is unlikely it was nothing more than a practical joke set up by a random member of the public. However it is far more probable that it was set up on purpose as a stunt for a TV show, perhaps with hidden cameras to see how the public would react. This show would have been given clearance beforehand to place the model where it was located in the middle of the road. It is logical that they would have chosen an extremely public location, such as the middle of a capital city in broad daylight, as this would attract more attention from passers by. Although James was unable to find anything about the incident online (or I while investigating the case) it is possible that it formed part of a TV show, just not one which was subsequently uploaded to the internet. At present I feel that this is the most likely explanation for what took place. If you can shed any further light on this incident please get in touch. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2013

  • 07/10/1978 - Kettering/Finedon – Disc & Other UFO Sightings

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Last Updated: 08/12/2012 Introduction In May 2012 I was contacted by a man named David who has through his life had several impressive UFO encounters. The earliest of these occurred in 1978 when he was 15 years old. He and a number of friends experienced a stunning sighting of a UFO in Kettering which would remain in their memory for many years to come. It soon became clear that theirs was not the only sighting, and that UFOs were also seen by many others in the area for a number of months, what is commonly referred to as a UFO flap. In November 2012 another man named Kevin got in touch after finding this report online. He informed me that he was another witness to this same craft but prior to David’s sighting in Finedon to the South East of Kettering! This report covers both sightings in detail, and also provides lots of information on other reported sightings in the area around the same time. For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used for some witnesses Sighting Details When David was 15 he would often meet up with his friends Tim, Leigh, Darren and Justin to go skateboarding at Skateside Skate Park on Rockingham Road, Kettering. On the 7th October the boys left the skate park shortly after 9.30 pm. Back in those days there was not much traffic on the road, so they used to skate along the road to travel home. It was a warm, still and clear night, and they were happy just wearing T-shirts. There was very little cloud in the sky and the stars were visible. It was quite a journey to get back home along numerous roads. The boys skated along Bath Road, then turned a corner into Cedar Road. Aerial map showing the location where Skateside Skate Park used to be (A), and the junction leading into Cedar Road (B): Cedar Road is not flat, it descends down a shallow hill, and then back up. In the distance over the housing of Walnut Crescent they were astounded by what they saw. There hovering in the air was a huge dark flattened-oval shaped object. It was massive in size, longer end to end than four house block. It had a symmetrical pattern of multi-coloured lights along it. In the centre were four bright white lights. They appeared to be slightly rectangular in shape. They were arranged in a rectangular pattern, with the lower two slightly further apart. At each end of the object were other smaller lights which were different colours – red, orange, green and blue. All the lights remained at constant brightness and did not flash. David says that the colours were “something I had never seen the like of before or since”. The object was hovering motionless no more than 20 feet above the roofs of the houses. It appeared to be completely silent, which was amazing to the witnesses. They stared at the object in awe for about 15 seconds. Then suddenly without warning the object tilted to the left at an angle of around 30 degrees. It then made an incredibly fast movement to the left in a Northern direction and then halted again in the air. David finds this movement extremely hard to describe. It also appeared to have a physical effect on him. In his own words “I felt a strange warping effect as it moved. A slight tug inside my stomach. The movement was odd. Suddenly it was at the other position but it did not vanish and reappear, and yet it did not move sideways. This is odd, I stared at it the whole time and it had just moved.” At this point the boys decided they wanted to get a closer look at the object. They began to skate down the hill towards it. It remained motionless in its new position, still tipped at an angle. After about 6-7 seconds the witnesses temporarily lost sight of the object due to the dip in the road. Seconds later when they began to ascend, they found that the object had completely vanished. David feels that the object had been aware of them and decided to leave when they tried to approach it. Drawing of the UFO on top of a darkened photograph of the sighting location to illustrate its size and position, both before and after its sudden movement: Aerial map showing the position of the witnesses and the two positions the UFO was seen at: The boys had nothing else to do but continue onward to their homes. When he arrived home David told his parents about what he had seen. On Monday when he went into school he told a couple of his school mates. Later on one of them approached him and said that 5 other boys were mucking around on the school football field on Saturday when a huge object swooped down and hovered over them. In his next class David was telling the boy sitting next to him, when another boy sitting behind them spoke up. He asked “Was that on Saturday?” When David responded and told him that it was, he said “Well I was in the off licence on Stamford Road that same night when a bloke came in shaking and pale.” The shop keeper knew the man and asked him what was wrong. He said “I’ve just seen a flying saucer, almost landed on the roof of my car when I was driving by Wicksteeds Park.” The shop keeper responded by saying “You’re kidding me?” but had no doubt the man was telling the truth. Aerial map showing the location of Wicksteeds Park (B) in relation to the location where the boys saw the UFO (A): On Tuesday evening when David arrived home from school his mother said “Take a look at the Telegraph.” In the paper was an article about two girls who had had a close encounter with a UFO on the same night. Thankfully David kept both this article and other previous articles which spoke of sightings in the area, you can read them later in this report. David says there were more in the coming weeks too though these were not kept. Sadly David has not kept in touch with the other witnesses and so I am not able to speak with them about what happened unless they see this report and get in touch. About 15 years ago his brother did work alongside one of them for a while. He asked him “You saw something weird once with my brother didn’t you?” to which he responded “Yes it was a UFO”. Finedon Sighting Details Kevin was only 12 years old in 1978. On the evening of the sighting, around 9.15 - 9.30 pm he was in the garage of his house on Tingdene Road, Finedon. He was changing the tire on his bike and chatting to a girl who lived nearby, Paula. It was a clear evening with no rain or wind. Aerial map of Tingdene Road with the sighting location marked: They suddenly began to hear a strange noise which appeared to be coming from above the garage. It sounded like a low pitched quiet whining noise which was continuous. Both Kevin and Paula exited the garage to the back garden to see if they could see what where the sound was coming from. When they stepped outside and looked up they were shocked to see a huge disc shaped object hovering directly above the neighbouring house. It was about 90 feet high and was at least the width of the house. They were looking at it at an angle of about 20 degrees from their position. It was clearly a flattened disc with numerous bright lights on it. Kevin cannot remember if these lights were coloured, but they were so bright that they partially obscured the main body of the object. It was hovering completely motionless in the air. Aerial view of the house showing the location where the witnesses stood (A) and the position of the UFO (B): Photograph taken from Tingdene Road. The garage where the witnesses had initially been is on the right. The  UFO was hovering above the house on the left: Both the witnesses were absolutely shocked by what they were seeing. Kevin banged on the window of the house to try and get his sister to come outside and see it too, but she did not hear. The UFO hovered completely still for around 20-25 seconds, which at the time felt much much longer. Suddenly without warning the UFO shot away to the North extremely fast. There was no build up in acceleration with this manoeuvre. In the distance it then came to a direct halt again, directly over the A6. After about 5 seconds it once again shot away to the North West in the direction of Kettering and was lost from sight. The witnesses were absolutely astounded by what they had just seen. They ran back into the house and told Kevin’s sister, who didn’t really believe them. They then returned to the garage talking about the object. On Monday 9th October when they returned to school, Kevin told his class mates about the sighting but again they didn’t really take it seriously. However on the following day there was an article in the paper about other sightings which had taken place over the weekend, some of which appeared to be of the same object, while others were clearly of other UFOs (You can read this article and others later in this report). Sightings Analysis Both of the incidents described above are excellent highly credible multiple witness sightings, which show all the signs of being a genuine advanced ET craft. The fact that the same object was seen by two different groups of people at different locations proves that it was definitely present in the sky and not some kind of visual hallucination or individual interpretation of something mundane. The object was clearly very large, at least 30 feet in diameter, probably larger. In both sightings the object performed very impressive manoeuvres which show it was clearly something out of the ordinary. It could not have been a remote controlled model or electronically lit balloon of some kind. UFOs have been seen to perform manoeuvres such as these on many occasions, moving extremely fast with no gradual acceleration or visible means of propulsion. Movements such as these are far in advance of any known aeroplane or helicopter that we have today, military or otherwise. Could the object of been some kind of secret military craft? This explanation seems very unlikely. Why would they fly such a craft low down over a residential area in plain sight of anyone who happened to look up? We must also take into account that there were other sightings of both this object and others. It is clear that there was a UFO flap in the area. Many of the sightings reported had multiple witnesses so should not simply be dismissed as hoaxes or misidentification. Regarding the sighting at Finedon, I am convinced that Kevin is a genuine witness and has not simply read the report then made up a story. He was clearly thrilled at having found the report online and says that he has been showing it to his family and friends to back up what he has talked about on numerous occasions in the past. It’s great when the reports I write and upload do sometimes cause other witnesses to come forward. Newspaper Articles Below are the various articles that David sent me relating to UFOs around Kettering. You can click on them to view in full size, then use your browsers back button to return to the report. This first article is the one which his mother showed him several days after his own sighting. It describes numerous UFO sightings around Kettering on both the Saturday and previous evening, including a domed disc-shaped object which appeared to give chase to two terrified girls: This next article describes a saucer shaped object covered in flashing lights which was seen by a family from Corby, the town just North of Kettering, on the previous evening: In the final article, further UFO sightings around Kettering and Corby are discussed, including one on the Monday evening: Newspaper Article Analysis The objects described in the various newspaper articles above do not all appear to be of the same object, though some may well be the same object that the witnesses from Finedon and Kettering saw. The first sightings mentioned took place on the Friday evening in the town of Corby, roughly 9 miles North of Kettering. Towards the end of the first article, a multiple witness sighting of a line of multi-coloured flashing lights is mentioned. This UFO was seen in the district of Weldon, moving in the direction of Beanfield. Arial map showing both Weldon (A) and Beanfield (B): The second article appears to speak of another multiple witness sighting of the same UFO over Corby just after 8pm. The witness again describes an object with flashing multi-coloured lights, moving slowly in the direction of Beanfield. This sighting took place at the Bankside Estate. As Bankside is much closer to Beanfield than Heldon, it can be assumed that this sighting took place after the other one. Arial map showing the locations of the Bankside Estate (A) and Beanfield (B): Photograph of the entrance to the Bankside Estate where the second Corby sighting took place: Next we move to the following evening, where across the first and third articles there are a total of 5 independent UFO sightings all between 9 - 9.30pm, and a sixth sighting which has an unknown time. The first reported sighting of the Saturday evening was seen by two men at The Hill, Middleton, a village to the West of Corby. Aerial map of The Hill: The UFO had a cluster of red and orange coloured lights which appeared to be moving in a clockwise direction on a central section of the object. It appeared to be making a bubbling-like sound. The movement pattern which the object performed is extremely similar to what David reported seeing the UFO over Kettering perform – sudden acceleration from a hovering position before slowing down again. The object appeared to position itself over the village of Ashley to the North West of the men, where it remained for up to 10 minutes. Aerial map showing the location of The Hill at Middleton (A) and Ashley (B): However its description does not match what the boys saw, and it was sufficiently different to be classed as a completely separate object, suggesting that there were multiple UFOs present in the county on the same evening. I do not feel that the proposed explanation of a normal aircraft given by the spokesman from RAF Wittering and the spokesman from the MOD is sufficient due to both the rotation of the lights on the object and the movement pattern observed. Many people completely dismiss UFO sightings and automatically label them as misidentification of mundane objects which some of the time does not fit the facts. The next reported sighting of the Saturday evening took place on Wellingborough Road somewhere between Finedon and Wellingborough at around 9.15pm. Photograph of Wellingborough Road, giving a general view of the surroundings: Aerial map of Wellingborough Road between Fielden and Wellingborough. The UFO sighting occured somewhere along this, though the exact location is not known: Once again the object described does not sound anything like the previously reported UFOs. Mr Batley described seeing a delta shaped object with bright white lights at the front and a green light at the rear. Although the lights seen twice on the Friday evening could conceivably been attached to a delta shaped object, there were other colours seen besides just white and green. And it sounds entirely different to the object seen by the witnesses from Middleton. Soon after 9.15pm a UFO with a cluster of red lights was seen by two witnesses over Hallwood in Kettering, as reported by the third article. This lighting configuration sounds similar to the object seen previously by the two men. However there is no mention of the lights moving in a clockwise direction. The object was witnessed for over 4 minutes, so in this time the rotation of the lights would certainly have been noticed. It is possible that the object had switched off this rotation for whatever purpose. Photograph of Hallwood Road: Aerial map of Hallwood Road: The girl’s ordeal spoken of in the first article took place in Wellingborough at around 9.30pm on Queensway. The object described sounds similar to what the boys from Kettering would witness soon afterwards, and could well have been the same UFO. The girls described a disc shaped object with a dome on the top and numerous multi-coloured lights. David does not remember seeing a dome on the top of the object he saw in Kettering, however it is possible that the object was tipped up at an angle and they were viewing its underside. This would account for the flattened elliptical shape reported. It is clear that the object could tip up in different ways, as it did this towards the end of the sighting. The girls reported that the object they saw tipped right over 180 degrees so that the dome was then on the bottom. Photograph of the bridge on Queensway which the UFO crossed over while approaching the girls: Aerial map showing the location of the bridge on Queensway (A), and Vicaridge Farm Road (B), the road which the girls lived on: After the girls knocked on the door of one of the houses further along Queensway, the UFO flew away. It is entirely possible that it then headed north, and was then seen by the boys in Kettering a short while later. The other Saturday evening sighting again mentioned in the first article took place on the A45 between Higham Ferrers and Sanders Lodge industrial park. Unfortunately we have no time when this incident took place. Nor is there much detail about the UFO, other than the fact it was silent. Aerial map showing the location of Higham Ferrers (A) and Sanders Lodge (B): We then move on to the Monday evening. The third article speaks of another sighting of the UFO with the cluster of red lights on it. This time the UFO was seen over the Hazel Wood area in Corby, and once again there were multiple witnesses. Aerial map of Hazel Wood: Conclusion From the various reports sent to me and the details that David, and later Kevin, provided, it is clear that there was a lot of UFO activity over that weekend, and may well have been in the weeks prior to and following it. The sightings of the disc-shaped UFO over Finedon and Kettering were just two of a number of impressive sightings. What is clear is that the descriptions of the UFOs do not all match up, there appears to have been numerous UFOs over the area which were sometimes seen only once, and sometimes seen multiple times. Whether all of these sightings were of genuine craft is impossible to say. However I feel that this is certainly the most likely explanation for what Kevin and Paula, then David and his friends saw. There were too many aspects which do not fit with any mundane explanation, and I find it very probable that the object was of extra-terrestrial origin. Report Links The sighting of the UFO over Kettering would not be the only time that David would see UFOs. In August 1988 he saw one or more UFOs on the outskirts of Rendlesham Forest, location of the famous UFO incident of December 1980. And on 4th July 2012 he and another witness saw a possible Flying Triangle craft actually appear to land! • 17/01/2010 - Chelmsley Wood, Birmingham - Orange Orbs Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 07/10/2012 Sighting Details Early in the morning of 17th January 2010 Michael and his girlfriend were walking his brother home. It was clear, frosty and still night with a full view of the stars overhead. They were walking along Piggots Croft in Chelmsley Wood, Birmingham. There was nobody else around. Michael often likes to look up at the stars, so was looking up as they walked along.  He suddenly noticed two glowing objects off to the right of him at around a 45 degree angle in the sky. They were initially side by side and were glowing orange-yellow in colour. They appeared star-like due to their high altitude, but appeared to be in the atmosphere. Aerial map of Piggots Croft: Photograph of Piggots Croft in the direction the orbs were first seen: The objects were moving extremely fast and were moving towards his location. As he watched they switched places, and changed from moving side by side to moving one after the other. They flew overhead and once more switched to being side by side again. As they started to move off into the distance they suddenly parted in a completely synchronised manoeuvre. One flew off to the left and the other off to the right. Within a short moment they had vanished into the distance. The whole sighting was so fast that by the time Michael informed his girlfriend and brother about the objects they were gone. Michael was in awe of what he had just witnessed. The objects had been moving much too rapidly to have been man-made objects such as high altitude aircraft or Chinese lanterns. Later on he calculated the speed that they must have been moving at based on the estimated height and distance they travelled. If the objects were about 1 km up then they were moving at approximately 1620 km per hour. If they were 4 km high then they must have been moving at around 6600 km per hour. They could have potentially been even higher than this, it was hard to tell. However it was clear that they were quite distant rather than small objects at quite a low altitude. Soon after the sighting he got in touch with the local police force to ask if anyone else had reported the lights. The police stated that they had not had any other sightings reported. They also contacted Birmingham International airport to see if anything had been picked up on radar. But Michael was at least informed that nothing had been detected. Michael says that the direction the objects moved away in meant that they would have flown directly over the airport, so either they genuinely weren't picked up, or were but this fact was covered up. Aerial map showing the sighting location (A) and Birmingham International airport (B): Sighting Analysis This sighting is truly fascinating and after speaking with the witness I feel quite sure that this was a genuine sighting of two advanced craft moving at an incredible speed. Often sightings of orange glowing lights after dark turn out to be nothing more than Chinese lanterns. Indeed it is even possible for lanterns to move positions in the sky and seem to follow one another as they drift on air currents. However I do not believe that this adequately explains what was seen in this case. The objects approached, passed overhead and vanished into the distance within the space of 6 seconds. It is inconceivable that lanterns would move at such a speed. Even when at relatively low altitude, where the structure and flickering flames are visible, they would still not be able to disappear in this short space of time. The objects that Michael witnessed were just glowing points of light and were clearly at high altitude. Also it was a very still night with no wind detectable, at least at ground level. The other very important aspect of this sighting is the manoeuvres that the objects were seen to perform. They certainly appeared to be aware of each other and switching formations. As previously mentioned it is possible for drifting objects to appear to possess intelligence. However drifting objects such as lanterns always follow generally the same path across the sky. They can be buffeted around and shift positions, but it is extremely unlikely that they would suddenly at the same moment head off in two opposite directions. This particular manoeuvre certainly appears to have been performed for a particular purpose, indicating that the objects were under control. Just as I have discovered with other cases I have previously investigated, not all glowing orbs seen after dark can be put down to Chinese lanterns or LED balloons, sometimes the facts point towards a much more unusual explanation. • West Midlands Contact Case - Shadow Beings, Hybrid, Visitation, Paranormal Activity

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 05/12/2012 For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used and certain locations have been ommited Introduction Many contactees report having experiences since an early age and throughout their life. However sometimes contact can suddenly begin to take place without any known prior experiences. Hailey has no memory of anything unusual happening in her life up to 2011 when her father died. However since that time she and her partner have experienced unusual activity in their household, and Hailey has had a number of experiences which suggest that she has been abducted and may be involved with the hybrid breeding program, one of the on-going agendas of the ETs. Clowns Ever since she was young Hailey has had a fear of clowns. While many people have this fear, no doubt due to their unusual make up, it should also be noted that this is one of the phobias that contactees can develop. This can be due to the fact that their unusual appearance reminds them of the beings they have been in contact with, or in some cases involving young contactees the ETs have actually used clowns as a screen memory to mask their true appearance. As Hailey has no early experiences she can currently remember, there is no evidence that suggests this is the reason for this fear, but it is still worth mentioning. Paranormal Activity In October 2011 Hailey's father sadly passed away. This was a very stressful and upsetting time for both Hailey and her partner Gavin. They soon started to notice unusual things happening around their house, things which had never occurred before in the ten years that Gavin has lived at the property. Bulbs in the house now seem to blow extremely regularly, much more often than would be classed as normal. They have had no change to the electrics of the property so this can be ruled out as an explanation for this. There is a lamp in the lounge which since October 2011 has regularly flickered, sometimes quite prominently like a strobe going on and off. It did this when I went round to investigate. They have tried changing bulbs multiple times to no avail. However perhaps a fault has occurred with the lamp. I advised the couple to purchase a different lamp and plug it in at the same place and see if the flickering still occurs. It is not just electrical faults which have taken place. One evening in late 2011 Gavin was working on his computer when he suddenly heard a loud sound in the kitchen. When he went to check he found one of their large metal ladles lying on the kitchen floor. The ladles are stored in a tall container up on the shelf. Somehow the ladle had not only fallen out of the container but had then moved half way across the kitchen around the corner of the fridge. While this could just be put down to the object being poorly balanced, falling and rolling across the floor, there is still the possibility that the incident had a more paranormal explanation. Photograph of the kitchen, with locations where the ladle is stored (A) and where it ended up (B): Photograph of the ladle in its usual container on the shelf: Reconstructed photograph showing how it was found on the floor: One evening in late January 2012 Hailey and Gavin were sitting in the lounge relaxing. It was evening time and dark outside. The side light near the sofa was on but main room light was off. They suddenly noticed an oval-shaped shadow about the size of a human head appear on the ceiling near to the main light. It then glided across the ceiling before fading away just before it reached the smoke alarm. It was very spooky, especially due to the fact that the shape reminded them of a head. Photograph of the living room ceiling, with a representation of the shadow and its path of movement drawn on top: The most obvious explanation for this is that an insect had crawled across the bulb in the side light, or flown closely by it. However this was soon discounted by the couple, who put small objects onto or near to the bulb to disprove this theory. The resulting shadow was nothing like what had been seen. It was dark outside and the blinds were down so there was no way for something moving outside to have cast the shadow. Hailey was especially un-nerved by the incident and since then has not liked sitting in the room on her own. A Visitation In summer 2012, Hailey was still dealing with her father’s death the previous year. She decided to go to see her GP, who recommended a bereavement counsellor. Hailey visited this counsellor for numerous sessions. It was a normal evening in August, around the time that Hailey's bereavement counselling was drawing to a close. Hailey and Gavin headed up to bed and settled down to sleep. They both felt completely fine emotionally. During the night Hailey suddenly woke up. She sat up on the bed and looked at the clock. It was around 1 am. She peered round the room. Although it was quite dark there was still enough light coming in from outside to make out features in the room. She was shocked to see a tall figure standing at the base of the bed. At first she thought it must be the door frame and her mind playing tricks on her, but she soon realised it could not be this. The figure appeared to be completely black like a shadow; there were no specific features visible. It was about 7 feet high, and from the shape appeared to be unclothed. Its body was slender, with long thin arms and fingers. Its head appeared quite over-sized and pear shaped. It was not completely motionless like a cardboard cut out, but it was not changing its pose or position at all. It looked like it was watching her. Witness sketch of the tall being at the base of the bed: Hailey then looked round the room and was shocked to see that this wasn't the only figure present. There were two other shorter beings, which again appeared to be completely black like in shadow, standing alongside the bed on the far side of Gavin, who remained fast asleep. These two figures appeared to be around 5 foot in height but other than this looked similar in shape to the taller one. Witness sketch of the two shorter beings alongside the bed: Drawing showing the layout of the bedroom and positions of the beings: Hailey didn't know what to do; she was absolutely terrified and frozen with fear. She remembers sitting there staring at the figures for an extended period of time. She didn't think about shouting or trying to wake her partner up. She feels this was probably down to the fear of the situation. However looking back at the experience she says her usual reaction to such a situation would have been to scream. She is a little puzzled as to how she reacted. However this is another commonly described aspect of contact. It appears that the ETs sometimes put the individual into an unusual frame of mind so that they simply accept what is taking place and do not act in a logical manner. Hailey cannot remember anything else about what took place. She assumes she must have gone back off to sleep or blacked out for another reason. She is unaware of whether the figures were still present in the room when she did. The next thing she became aware of she was waking up in the morning. She told Gavin about what had happened in the night. He could see she was clearly shook up over the situation. After Effects In the days following the experience during the night, Hailey found that her emotions were all over the place. She became very fearful of going to sleep at night. She was over-emotional and began breaking down crying, seemingly for no reason. On top of this she felt the strong desire to have a baby. She does not know where these feelings came from. Although she had discussed the idea of having children with Gavin before it was not something that was weighing particularly heavy on her mind. Through the week her emotions got stronger and stronger, and she found it very hard to deal with. Gavin of course noticed how she was acting but at the time did not link it back to the experience with the shadowy beings. After about a week it got too much for Hailey. She could not cope with being in the house any longer, so moved out and went to stay with her mother. Gavin was of course extremely upset by this situation and felt helpless to stop it. After she had been with her mother a number of days, Gavin persuaded her to come back home. Her emotions seemed to settle down and she moved back into the property. However she still felt extremely nervous going to sleep at night, or being on her own in the house. It is possible that Hailey experienced a visitation by ETs and possibly was also abducted during this same night. The shape of the beings that she described seeing in the room fit in with them being Greys, one of the most widely reported ET species. Quite often a number of smaller beings are seen accompanied by a very tall one, who sometimes appears to watch over proceedings. I have investigated other cases where this exact thing has been described. I have also looked into numerous cases where the beings have appeared to be either completely in shadow, as Hailey spoke of, or where just the face is dark and cannot be made out. I feel that this is down to a screen memory which the ETs project to hide their actual appearance from the contactee. It was dark in the room, but Hailey would still have been able to make out some features especially on the two alongside the bed. The beings just appeared to stand there for a period of time. However it is unlikely they would visit her for no reason other than this, usually there is some form of direct interaction with the individual involved. It is possible that Hailey was abducted and then had the memories of this abduction blocked out from her mind. This is a regular aspect of contact. The contactee will often remember the start or end of an encounter but have little or no memory of being taken elsewhere. These memories sometimes come back later on in the form of vivid nightmares or flashbacks. Heightened emotions and fear of going to bed at night are extremely common after effects of contact. Hailey’s emotional outbursts and extreme feelings in the days following the visitation are a good indication that something more may have taken place which she cannot currently remember. When abduction experiences are blocked out, even though the actual details are lost, the contactee will often be left with the feeling that something has taken place, something highly unusual and hard to deal with. This can often lead to changes in emotion, panic attacks or phobias. The unusual strong feelings about wanting a baby are a very interesting aspect, and could suggest that the experience was linked with the hybrid breeding program, one of the ongoing agendas of the ETs. Female contactees are sometimes, though not always, involved with this. It appears that the ETs are mixing their own DNA with that of humans and creating hybrid beings. Because of the nature of these experiences, contactees involved in the hybrid program can often have extreme maternal feelings or feel that they might be pregnant, even when tests show otherwise. What Hailey recollected soon afterwards (see below) adds a lot of weight to this possibility. The Baby After several weeks Hailey was still feeling very emotional and not her usual self. She decided to go and visit a local regressive hypnotherapist to see to see if he could get to the bottom of why she was experiencing these emotions. This hypnotherapist had no background in the ET contact field. When she was regressed, he asked Hailey to go back to the source of her feelings. It was now that she came out with some very unusual details. Hailey said that she was in a hospital and sitting up in a bed. There were no other humans around. At the base of the bed stood row upon row of short beings similar to the ones she had seen in her room. They still all appeared completely black. At the front of them stood the tall being. In its arms it was cradling a baby, which appeared completely normal. Hailey knew that it was her own. She asked the tall being for her baby. The being responded by telling her that it would not survive if it went with her. It would only survive if it remained with them. Hailey once again asked for her baby. She sensed the being was angry with her request. It told her that they would return and she had not seen the last of them. This was all she recounted under hypnosis. Witness sketch giving an overview of what she recollected under regression: You may feel that this vision was just imagined while under hypnosis and did not really take place. You may believe that the beings Hailey has seen are dark entities of an evil nature, sometimes referred to as “shadow people”. However there is much of what she has said which again fits in with ET contact and the hybrid program. Hailey recalled being in a hospital bed with clinical surroundings. The inside of ET craft is usually described as very clean and clinical looking, and this can sometimes lead to them remembering it as a hospital when they recall what took place. This may have been directly caused by the ETs, who appear to be able to be able to mask the surroundings as well as themselves, or even their craft when viewed from a distance. I have had numerous contactees inform me that they have memory of being in a hospital, but there have been aspects which have directly linked the experience with an abduction. It is possible therefore that Hailey was aboard an ET craft and only recollected it as a hospital. Regarding the hybrid breeding program, the ETs will often bring the baby to the mother and either show it to her or let her actually hold it for a period of time. This appears to be some kind of emotional bonding ritual, and it will often leave the mother feeling distraught when they then take the baby away from them. The degree of hybridisation appears to vary, so sometimes the baby will appear quite normal looking, while other times it will clearly have non-human features. Evidence suggests that the hybrids created are usually not able to breathe our atmosphere, which is why they are developed aboard the craft. Taking all of the above into consideration, it is certainly possible that the baby that the tall being was cradling was a hybrid created from Hailey’s DNA. When the tall being said that the baby must go with them it could have been referring to the fact that it would not be able to survive on Earth. One aspect of the recollection which is unusual is that the being appeared to be offering her the choice. Most of the time the ETs do not give the contactee the choice of keeping the baby, it is simply removed from them without adequate explanation. This can often be extremely emotional for the individual. The fact that the tall being told Hailey that she had not seen the last of them suggests that she may have further contact experiences as a result of not agreeing with the being’s wishes. However Hailey was not pregnant following this experience, so if the baby did actually exist then it is unknown what happened to it. Conclusion Despite the unusual aspects of Hailey's experiences, and the fact that so far she has not had any direct memories of UFOs or recognisable beings, I feel that there is enough to suggest that Hailey is a contactee. The visitation she experienced may well have led on to an abduction that so far she has no memory of. The emotional impact she suffered as a result of this encounter is a good sign that something else may have occurred. The subsequent details that she came out with under hypnosis are fascinating and as you have seen have numerous links with the hybrid program. We are planning to arrange a further hypnotic regression in early 2013 with the hypnotherapist I work directly with to see if any further details come to light. It is unconfirmed whether or not the unusual paranormal happenings in her house have anything to do with this contact or not. Contactees regularly report seeing strange activity in their proximity, and flickering/exploding lights are often a factor in this, as are other electrical disturbances and incidents which would usually be attributed to ghosts. Hailey does not know what to make of this activity, but does not believe that it is the ghost of her father, as she says there would be no reason for him to frighten her in this manner. Due to the regularity that other activity like this is reported by contactees I certainly feel that this may have occurred as a direct or indirect result of Hailey's experiences. It is unlikely that this is as far as things go with this case, so expect further updates to this report in due course. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2012

  • Berlin Contact Case - ETs in Human Form, Dimensional Shifts, Paranormal Activity

Birmingham UFO Group Report Author: Dave Hodrien Last Updated: 01/12/2012 For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used Introduction The phenomenon of ET contact is both vast and complex, and can lead to many different types of experiences. While many of the aspects of contact seem to be repeated across many different cases, occasionally someone can experience something either extremely rare or even completely unique. When such experiences occur it is often people’s tendency to ignore them, or jump to conclusions and assume that the individual involved is fabricating their experiences. But just because these experiences are unusual does not mean that they haven’t taken place. Gavin has had lots of very interesting experiences over many years, many of which have also involved other witnesses. This report covers some of these incidents in detail. Sparkling Dust Gavin’s unusual experiences began when he was only 3 years old. He remembers numerous occasions at night where he would see something very strange in his bedroom. After reading him a bedtime story, his mum would leave the room and nearly close the door. The landing light would be left on, but there would be very little light in his room. He’d then sometimes see what appeared to be sparkling dust floating slowly around him in the air. The dust appeared in large quantities, and Gavin is sure that it was not just caused by the landing light reflecting off dust particles in the room. He was able to reach out with both hands, take handfuls and examine the sparkling dust. When he opened his hands it floated back to the particles in the circle and continued revolving around him. For an unknown reason, Gavin felt that this was not something he should talk about with his family, so he never mentioned it to them.  These experiences continued for at least a year, possibly longer, but he cannot remember exactly when they stopped. He was not frightened by the dust; he used to find it fascinating and was happy when it appeared. I have not yet come across any other cases where the same thing has been reported, so at present there is no further information available on what this sparkling dust could have been. Night Fears Soon after his experiences with the dust, Gavin began to feel frightened in his room at night. He’d feel that there was a presence there in the room with him. It is unknown whether these feelings were linked with the dust or not. On a number of occasions he’d awake to find that he couldn’t move or shout out. He’d try to fight this and after a short while would be able to start moving again and his voice would return. On other occasions when he’d just fallen asleep, he’d be woken by a loud and intense buzzing sound, which seemed to penetrate his whole body. These experiences with the sound continued into his 30’s, but he still regularly gets the feeling of a presence in the room at night. These experiences sound like they may have been down to what is commonly termed “sleep paralysis”, although they are also known aspects of the ET contact phenomenon. Changing Roads Dream Another thing Gavin remembers from his childhood is that he used to have a recurring nightmare where he’d be walking home from school when suddenly the roads would change. They looked the same but the connecting roads at the junctions were different. He’d become lost and unable to find his way home, which was terrifying. This could of course have been nothing more than a dream, but as you will see it has bizarre links with some of his later experiences which suggest otherwise. Haunted Landing As you have already heard, Gavin quite regularly sensed some kind of presence in his bedroom during the night. In his teenage years on a number of occasions and always in the evening while upstairs in his bedroom, he’d sense the arrival of a negative presence / entity on the landing. It was always in exactly the same place – between his bedroom and the staircase. Whether it wanted something or whether it was harmful Gavin wasn’t sure, but it un-nerved him and made him go cold, so much so that he’d have to go downstairs to his parents. As he walked downstairs, he always gripped the banister tightly, feeling that whatever was there might push him down the stairs. He cannot explain why he had these feelings, as he never saw anything on the landing. He never told his parents, as he thought they would not believe him. Pressure On The Legs In 1994 Gavin was travelling through Eastern Europe. He’d arrived in Poland in the city of Poznan, close to the German border, and checked into a hotel. During the night he was woken by something pressing down on his lower legs. He found it unusual that he’d been sleeping on his back, as normally he slept on his side or stomach. Thinking that someone had entered the room he lay still keeping his eyes closed wondering what to do. The pressure slowly moved up his legs towards his thighs. Gavin opened his eyes slightly to take a look, and saw an unusual form / entity of some kind on the bed. He shouted out “No!” The form shot up into the air and then disappeared. Gavin cannot describe exactly what it looked like – just a shape. He turned on the light and lay awake for a while. In the morning when he awoke, Gavin saw what he describes as small, puffy white clouds floating just below the ceiling. These remained a while before fading away. Gavin feels sure he was completely awake when viewing these. Again it should be noted that some of what Gavin has described here is often reported during sleep paralysis experiences. However this does not necessarily explain what was seen, and there may well be another explanation. The “small clouds” which Gavin reported seeing the following morning are very unusual, and do not sound like they were related to what happened during the night. Even more so because Gavin informed me that this was not the first time he had seen these, there had been other occasions in his life where he had seen similar things, always just below the ceiling. It does not sound like this was down to condensation in the room, and there is no definite explanation for what was seen. I have not heard anyone else report the same thing to me, at least so far. Alien Dimensions We will next look at a number of experiences Gavin has had in his adult years. These experiences have seemed to involve people who act in abnormal ways, unexplained shifts in time, and places that seem somehow strange or different. These incidents are far from typical, and it is clear that Gavin is not a contactee in the usual sense of the word. However, as you will see, there are aspects which may suggest an extra-terrestrial connection. Man On The Street In 1986 when Gavin was 21 years old, he left home, moved to Guildford and took a job at Next clothing store. Soon after starting work, a man began appearing outside the shop almost every day. His eyes were astute, he was possibly in his thirties and possibly homeless, and would at times watch Gavin or dance around making fun of particular passersby. Work colleagues said that the man was crazy and began speculating that his appearance was related to Gavin starting work in the shop. Gavin denied it because the man was strange, but knew his colleagues were right. He felt scared. On occasions when there were no customers and Gavin’s colleagues were in the stockroom, the man would come into the shop. “Why are you doing this job, it’s not really you,” he’d ask. Gavin began to observe the man, noticing that when he was making fun of passersby, his choice was not indiscriminate, he choose people who seemed arrogant.  As soon Gavin’s colleagues returned, the man would leave the shop. One evening around midnight while he was on his way home from visiting a friend, Gavin saw the man on the street. The man approached him and began to speak to him. It was immediately obvious to Gavin that the man somehow knew everything which was on his mind at the time. It was like the man was reading his mind. He spoke of Gavin’s concerns for his future. Gavin was overwhelmed by what the man was saying and just stood there listening for about five minutes. In the end he just said ok and took his leave, he did not ask the man any questions or try to establish how he knew these things about him. This was mostly due to the fact that he didn’t want to be seen speaking with this unusual man, but he was also quite frightened. The situation was really bizarre, and Gavin got the sense that this man was not a normal human being. Ever since he has wondered whether the man could have even been an ET in human form. Missing Journey Time In 1987 Gavin was living in London. One evening after work he went out to Tottenham to meet up with some friends who had travelled down from Hull. They’d only spent a short amount of time in the bar, when Gavin suddenly started to feel extremely tired. This was not something which would normally happen to him, and he began to wonder if someone had put something in his drink. He decided to leave his friends and head for home. As he walked along the road he began to feel frightened, but did not really know why. He reached Tottenham Hale underground station and can remember standing on the platform, seeing a train arrive (destination Brixton) but cannot remember boarding. The journey from Tottenham to Brixton is 16 stops with a change at Stockwell. The next thing Gavin knew, a woman was gently shaking him. In a daze, he opened his eyes and saw what he thinks was Victoria Underground Station. The woman asked where he was going, to which Gavin replied, “Brixton”  Gavin realised that this was incorrect, but could not remember where he was travelling to. He informed the woman. After this Gavin again experienced a missing period of time. The next thing he was aware of, he was waking up at Balham station. He was confused. Once again he had no memory of the journey or changing lines at Stockwell. To this day he has no idea of what had taken place. He has never experienced the same thing again. London Underground map with Tottenham Hale (A), Stockwell (B) and Balham (C) marked: While this is an odd experience, I feel it is unlikely to have anything to do with contact. Contactees regularly report having missing periods of time, which often later on turn out to be abduction experiences which have somehow been blocked out from their mind. However it is extremely unlikely that anything like that took place here due to the fact that Gavin was in a very public location at the time, with other people around at all stages. The extreme tiredness Gavin felt could well have been what he suspected – perhaps someone did spike his drink at the bar for an unknown reason. Or perhaps there was a medical explanation which was causing him to black out. It is certainly possible that Gavin wandered off the first train and onto one heading for Balham by himself in a dazed state of mind. There is also the possibility that the lady he remembers speaking with helped him get on the right train. We are unlikely to ever know for sure. Unfamiliar Surroundings On another occasion while he lived in London, Gavin was on his way to work. He got off at Oxford Circus and began walking along Oxford Street towards Tottenham Court Road. A few minutes later he looked up and suddenly found he was in different surroundings to where he should have been. He then realised he was walking in completely the opposite direction. He thought to himself “Oh my God, how did I do this?” He turned back around and decided to cut through some side streets to get back to where he should be. Gavin walked along thinking about what had happened. He looked ahead and suddenly realised the streets looked completely different to how they should look, even though he had walked down them many times before. He wasn’t seeing what he should be seeing. He stopped and looked back. Behind him everything looked normal how he remembered it. But ahead of him everything seemed completely different.  He thought to himself “Shit! What am I going to do?” He kept walking onwards, trying to remain calm. This lasted a while. Then suddenly there was some kind of shift and everything looked normal again as it should. He continued his journey and finally reached his workplace. Paris Metro In 1989 Gavin was now living in Munich, Germany. On one of his return trips to England he was in Paris and in a rush to reach the ferry from Calais. He had to get to Gare Du Nord so got onto a metro, but as he was in such a rush he did not really check whether the destination was correct. There was a man sitting to his right and Gavin decided to check with him whether the metro was headed in the right direction. As he turned and looked at the man, he suddenly got a strange feeling that the man had known for thousands of years that this moment in time would come. The man confirmed that the metro was heading to Gare Du Nord, and then began talking about star signs, and about how different cities were linked with different star signs. He also discussed other esoteric topics. While this was going on, Gavin noticed that everyone else on the metro appeared to be staring at him like he was completely mad. At that moment he thought to himself “No-one else can see this man, only I can.” He has no idea why he felt this was the case. It was an extremely unusual situation. Similar to the man he had met while living in Gilford, Gavin felt that the man was not a normal human being, and could have been an ET or other evolved being. Gavin feels that on these occasions, beings in human form have interacted with him on purpose in order to pass on certain information to him. The Party In 1997 Gavin went to visit friends in the USA. He flew to Alburquerque and was picked up by Ben and Lindsey. The following day they drove to Boulder, Colorado (a 7 hour drive), where Ben was going to be attending a breathing course. They planned to stay with Keria, a friend of Gavin’s. By the time they arrived at Boulder it was late afternoon. After dropping off some equipment for Ben’s workshop they drove to Keira’s house to meet up with her and Lindsey. While chatting Keira mentioned that an acquaintance of hers was having a party in Golden, a small town to the South of Boulder. She said that Sandra and her partner could sometimes be a little strange but were always very interesting to chat with, and that Sandra’s husband claimed to have created a machine which could alter people’s DNA. Gavin didn’t any questions at this time, but secretly thought to himself “I wonder what sort of party this is going to be?” After being at Keira’s house for about half an hour, something very unusual happened to Gavin and Lindsey. They felt they’d completely lost track of time, and time wasn’t passing at a normal speed. Even though they were aware of this, neither of them looked at their watches. However they did check the time shortly before they set off to drive to the party. It was around 7pm, later than they had initially planned. Aerial map with Boulder and Golden circled: They set off on the drive to Golden, leaving Boulder and heading out into the countryside. Gavin was in a car with Keira. Ben and Lindsey followed behind in a second car. There were no other vehicles on the road and it was dark. As they drove they noticed a low mist floating just above the road. It was only about 2 feet high, so it was possible to see over the top of it from the car window. As soon as they entered the mist Gavin felt very uncomfortable and could feel that something was not right. He wanted to tell Keira who was driving to stop the car. But he felt that she would think he was crazy so he decided to keep it to himself. They continued to drive. Keira knew the route to the party as she had been to the house numerous times before and Gavin had a map. She told Gavin that they had to take the next turning on the left. But for some reason the road turning did not seem to appear. After a short while Keira decided they must have accidentally gone past the turning, although Gavin couldn’t remember seeing it. She did a U-turn and they headed back down the road.  This time they found the turning. Both Gavin and Keira were confused that they had not seen it the first time. They turned onto the road and carried on driving. At the next turning they had to go right. But again the road didn’t seem to be there. Like before Keira turned the car around and there it was! It was as though the roads were all mixed up for some reason and turnings weren’t appearing where they should be. Gavin thought back to the dream he used to have when he was young. What was happening seemed to be spookily similar. Keira could not understand what was going on. She said to Gavin “I’ve been to this place before, I know where I am, but for some reason all the roads seem different tonight”. Due to the constant missing of turns, they eventually arrived at Golden about 90 minutes later than planned. They got out of their cars and went to the house where the party was taking place. As soon as Gavin saw the other party guests he immediately thought “They’re not human”.  He didn’t know why he had this feeling, as the guests did not look different in any way; it was more a strong sense. He looked at his friends and they were all acting like there was nothing wrong, so he thought maybe it was just him. He did not say anything to the others. They all went into the kitchen to get something to eat. While they were in the kitchen, Sandra’s daughter entered the room. Gavin looked down at the girl, who appeared to be around 11. He immediately thought to himself “Fuck, it’s a demon!” The girl looked normal, other than the fact she was wearing a lot of make-up. However she was behaving oddly. She walked up to Gavin and said to him “It’s become un-naturally cold hasn’t it.” Gavin got the distinct feeling that the girl knew that he was aware she was not normal. Once again he looked back at his friends, and like before they were acting like nothing was wrong. He just responded to the girl saying “Yes, it’s really strange.” For some reason Gavin then decided to go for a walk through the house on his own, despite feeling uneasy. He entered a room and remembers seeing a group of people sitting in a circle discussing the occult and witchcraft. Gavin was a little disturbed by this but sat and listened a short while. He then saw Keira walk past with Ben and Lindsey.  He thought to himself “Maybe Keira’s going to show them the machine”. He was interested to see this himself so he went and joined them. Sure enough Keira confirmed she was going to show them the machine. They reached a smoked-glass door, through which flickering lights could be seen. Keira slid back the door, Gavin felt a strong sense of evil coming from the room, so much so that he felt quite nauseous. Around the edges of the room were computer screens with scrolling information on them. Hanging from the ceiling was what appeared to be a huge glowing pink-coloured crystal. Underneath this was a wooden bench, which had a naked person lying on it screaming and writhing around. Gavin could not make out whether it was a man or a woman. Without any explanation Keira then walked off, leaving him, Ben and Lindsey standing there at the doorway. Sandra’s husband approached them, and asked Ben if he would like to go on the machine. Inexpiably Ben agreed saying that he would love to! Gavin was completely confused as to what was happening. He could not understand everyone’s reactions to the situation. He walked off with Lindsey. As soon as they were out of earshot Lindsey said to him “Thank God I had a good night’s sleep last night as I have no idea what’s going on here. The people in this house are just not human!” Gavin was relieved to see it wasn’t just him who was having these thoughts and replied “I know, I think that as well!” They sat down together and started discussing how they were going to get out of the situation. Keira was also in the room but talking to other people she knew. Ben and Sandra’s husband entered the room and for some reason when Gavin looked at him he sensed that he was somehow going to lose him, almost like he was a lost soul. Gavin informed Lindsey that he was going to tell Keira that he wasn’t feeling well and that he and Lindsey wanted to leave. Much to Gavin’s surprise Keira also wanted to leave. They all got ready to leave, but Ben wanted to stay, saying “I have to go on this machine”. Gavin calmly started trying to persuade him that it was best to go. At this moment it was as if the other guests realised that Gavin and his friends were not part of what was taking place, and they all began staring at them. Gavin says it was something like out of a horror film! In the end he managed to persuade Ben to leave. They all got back in their cars and began to drive home. As they drove, the low mist once again appeared over the road. Just like before the roads seemed wrong and they got hopelessly lost. They pulled over at a petrol station so Keira could ask for directions back to Boulder. A minute later she emerged from the station store and said to them “I don’t understand this. The woman behind the counter has never head of Boulder or Golden. They can’t be far away!” They got back on the road and for what seemed like an hour drove around completely lost. Turnings did not seem to be where they should have been. Then suddenly things seemed to go back to normal, like there was some kind of shift. They all stopped at a nearby cafe to discuss what had just happened. As they talked, Gavin realised that both Lindsey and Keira had the same experience as he had done at the party. They felt that the other guests there were odd in some way or not human, and there was something very wrong with the girl who had come into the kitchen. None of them had spoken of their experience at the party, thinking that they were alone. The only person who didn’t seem to have had the same experience was Ben. When Gavin spoke to Keira about what had taken place, Keira said she had been to the house numerous times before and been shown the machine also. She said treated the machine as a big joke, but the events of that evening had left her feeling very frightened. Once safely back at Keira’s house Gavin felt that nothing else strange would take place and relaxed. However the following day something similar took place! Gavin and Lindsey had gone for a walk round Boulder during the day. They came across a cafe advertising apple strudel. They entered the cafe. The street outside was busy but the cafe was empty apart from them and the waiter. They ordered two portions of apple strudel and two coffees. The waiter responded in a very strange way, saying “Sorry, we don’t do apple strudel, we never have”. Gavin replied “But there’s a sign in the window”. The waiter said  “I’m sorry, we just don’t do it”. The way in which the waiter was acting was cold, just like the people at the party the previous evening. Both Gavin and Lindsey felt uneasy so got up and left the cafe. As soon as they stepped outside everything went back to normal. Gavin remains completely baffled by what took place at the party and during the following day. Looking back at the experience he wonders whether they had been transported into an alternative dimension. These experiences are certainly odd, and while it seems possible that something very unusual took place, there may possibly have been mundane explanations for at least some of what was experienced. Rather than look at the experience as a whole, it should be broken down into its different components. First of all the low mist which was seen over the road could well have been nothing more than this. And perhaps the fact that it was partially obscuring the road meant it was harder to see the junctions, which could possibly have accounted for the fact that they were initially missed but then seemed to reappear. Also it is possible that Keira was not as familiar with the area as she thought she was. After missing the first junction she could have lost her bearings and sense of direction, which could then have influenced the rest of the journey. That said, it is strange that both Gavin and Keira seemed to be missing the turnings, at no point did Gavin see a junction which Keira then subsequently missed, whatever was happening appeared to be happening to them both. Due to what had seemingly taken place on the journey, Gavin and his friends would have been in uneasy frame of mind.  Perhaps this feeling of unease remained with them, and played a part in their feelings towards the other party guests. According to Gavin the girl who came into the kitchen was wearing lots of makeup. This may have given her an odd appearance, heightening the feelings that Gavin and some of his friends were experiencing. The “DNA changing machine” is obviously an extremely strange aspect of the experience. Clearly at least Sandra and her husband believed that it did something, although the details of exactly what are unknown. The reactions of the other party guests during the party suggest that they too believed it was real. Gavin still has many questions about the machine – How had it been built? Exactly how did it change DNA? Why would anyone want it to change their DNA in the first place? Could the party guests have been part of a cult of some kind? If so this could explain why they were acting strangely, were discussing unusual subjects linked with witchcraft and the occult, and why Sandra’s husband was trying to persuade Ben to have a go on the machine. The fact that Gavin’s feelings were shared by Lindsey, Keira and Ben shows that what took place was not just down to his own imagination. Once again on the road home the same thing occurred as before. This could well have been for the same reasons already discussed. The fact that the lady at the petrol station was not aware of Boulder or Golden does sound odd, but could well have had a rational explanation. Perhaps she had only just moved to the area, or was standing in for someone else that evening and had travelled there specially. Or there is even the possibility that she was playing a joke on Keira and just pretending not to have heard of Boulder or Golden. The incident which happened at the cafe the following day could possibly have been down to Gavin and Lindsey’s frame of mind at the time. They were still quite shook up by what had taken place the previous evening so would have been on edge and almost expecting something odd to occur. Perhaps someone else had put the sign in the window about the apple strudel, and the waiter was not aware that they were supposed to be selling it at the time. Or maybe the sign had been left in the window for a long time and was no longer relevant. While there are possible mundane explanations for some of what was experienced by Gavin and his friends on this occasion,  it does seem very odd that all of this would occur on the same evening and following day. Could it all have just been a long series of coincidences which when viewed together made the witnesses feel something very strange was taking place? Or did they really enter an alternative dimension of reality - A dimension where places changed of their own accord, and beings disguised as humans carried out bizarre experiments involving the manipulation of DNA? We may never know for certain. Time Slip In Alburquerque The bizarre incidents which took place at Golden and Boulder were not the only experiences Gavin had in the USA. The following year he visited a friend, Evan, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Due to an extremely late train, Gavin arrived 8 hours later than expected at around 10pm. He phoned Evan, who suggested that as he lived on the outskirts of Albuquerque he should stop over at the house of another friend of his, Peter, and then finish his journey in the morning. Gavin agreed and gave Peter a call. Peter said it would be fine for him to stop over and informed Gavin it would take him about 10 minutes in a taxi to reach the house. Gavin said that it may take longer due to the fact that there were no taxi’s around so he would have to wait for one to turn up. Gavin put the phone down, and at that moment a taxi cab pulled up near to him. Gavin was pleased that one had shown up so quickly. He then noticed that there was a second man sitting alongside the driver in the front of the car. Both men got out of the cab to help him with his luggage. It was clear that they were friends. For a brief moment Gavin thought to himself that it might be dangerous due to the fact that there were two of them. But he soon settled down as he began to speak with the men. Gavin got into the back of the taxi and it set off, but as he looked out of the window everything became blurred, as if they were travelling at hundreds of miles an hour. Although finding it strange, Gavin was not scared and it somehow felt quite normal as well. The men started asking him where he had been previously on his travels. Gavin told them that he had been staying out in the desert with some friends. At this the men asked “How is it when you’re walking through the desert, how do you feel?” Gavin thought to himself “That’s an odd question to ask”, but he responded saying “Well I like the heat and the wind”. The men asked again “But how do you really feel? What do you sense?” Gavin wondered what was going on and why the men were asking him such strange questions. The taxi pulled up outside Peter’s house. As Gavin got out of the cab, all he wanted to do was stay and continue talking to the driver and his friend. Gavin felt like he and the two men were from the same spiritual family. However Gavin ignored this, paid the men and walked up to the front door with his luggage. He rang the door, and Peter answered. Gavin said “Hi, my name’s Gavin, I rang about ten minutes ago.” Peter looked puzzled and replied “Is this a joke?” “No what do you mean?” Gavin asked. “How come you’re already here, I just put down the phone after talking to you. You were at the station weren’t you, when you called?” Somehow Gavin had arrived a moment after finishing his call with Peter. Gavin felt certain it had something to do with the two men in the taxi cab, and the way in which everything had looked blurred outside while he was travelling in the vehicle. Gavin told Peter what had happened, but doesn’t know whether Peter really believed him or thought he was making it all up. Looking back on the experience, just as on previous occasions, Gavin believes that the two men were ETs or other beings of some kind that wanted to show him that time is not lineal as many believe. Just as with some of Gavin’s other strange encounters, there were other people involved with this experience. It was Peter who verified that Gavin had showed up at the house almost instantly after the phone call had taken place, and Gavin is absolutely certain that he made this call from a phone box at Albuquerque train station before he got into the taxi. We are left with a perplexing mystery, one that has some aspects which are extremely hard to explain using mainstream science. Crestone Shortly after the incident in Albuquerque, Gavin was once again in Colorado, this time at Keira’s wedding with his boyfriend, Steven.  On their way back to New Mexico they decided to stop off at Crestone (renowned for UFO sightings) to watch a sunset. They turned off the highway and took the Crestone road – which zigzags just before ending in the town. As soon as they arrived Gavin sensed that something wasn’t right. They stopped a local store to buy some wine, where a man came and stood in close proximity behind them, almost causing body contact. As Gavin and Steve wandered around the store looking at the wine selection, the man followed, always in close proximity. Neither Gavin nor Steve mentioned it until they left the store. As they walked round the town, Gavin remarked that most people were acting almost like zombies. Both Gavin and Steve were hungry so decided to quickly get something to eat, then leave Crestone. They entered a small cafe. Nobody glanced in their direction. This again seemed very odd and different to normal behaviour, apart from the waiter.  While they waited for their food, not a single person acknowledged their presence in any way whatsoever. They both felt uneasy, especially Steven. After eating they quickly left the cafe. As they walked back to the car Steven stopped briefly to look in a shop window. Gavin continued on. A car pulled up alongside and slowly followed him. The driver stared intensely at Gavin. Once again Gavin felt they were in an alternative reality. It seemed as though some people were somehow not aware of them, whereas others noticed straight away that they Gavin and Steve did not belong. On the road out of Crestone as they drove through the zigzag, they both felt that the zigzag had changed, and was now the other way round. They reached the main road and the rest of the journey went without incident. Once again Gavin feels that this was some kind of shift in reality like had occurred on previous occasions. People seemed to act in unusual ways. Clearly something felt very strange to both Gavin and Steven, so it cannot simply be put down to paranoia. However it is possible that because they were both visitors to the town perhaps some other people picked up on this and this led to them being treated differently.  Also it is possible that they had simply not remembered the correct layout for the road, though it is interesting that both Gavin and Steven felt it was different to before. Alien Dimensions – Witness Statement You have just read details of seven of the many unusual incidents which Gavin has experienced which have involved people or places which have seemingly changed from the norm. Below are Gavin’s own thoughts on what has taken place. “It’s like this shift in reality somehow. Whether it’s a different aspect of humanity that you suddenly see, I don’t know. Each time it happens there’s a sudden feeling of anxiety that comes, sometimes minutes before, sometimes hours before.  I could be going to a friend’s place or something and suddenly I feel anxious but I don’t know why. And usually I’m either with someone or there’s somebody else wherever I am, and I notice that they also look disturbed by what they are experiencing. I don’t know why it happens, and what I’m seeing, or what we are all seeing when I am with other people, but we all have the same experience.” Conclusion Due to the high strangeness of the incidents which Gavin has experienced you may feel a little wary of them. However I do not feel these experiences should be easily dismissed. I have spoke with Gavin for an extended period of time via both Skype with webcam and E-Mail. He appears both level headed and truthful, and I certainly believe that the incidents have taken place as he has reported them. While it is possible that some of what has happened could have been down to personal interpretation of events, in most cases there have been other witnesses present who have backed up what Gavin has seen or felt, either at the time or later on. This suggests that they have certainly happened, although the reasons behind them are far from clear. Most of the experiences that Gavin has described, both in his childhood and later on, are not typical of ET contact. He does not appear to have been abducted, nor has he seen any entities which have been physically different to human. While fears of going to sleep at night are common, and unusual paranormal activity is regularly reported, I have not heard anyone speak of the glowing dust or small wispy clouds that he has experienced on numerous occasions. And the experiences which Gavin believes may be some kind of dimensional shift involving people who behave abnormally, and places that seem to temporarily change, are very unusual indeed. I cannot think of any comparable case which I have directly investigated. Gavin has not had any experiences of this type in quite a number of years, so perhaps whatever took place is now over. Whatever the reasons for the experiences you have read about in this report, it is certainly one of the most intriguing cases I have looked into in quite some time. I would like to close by thanking Gavin for coming forward with this fascinating information and allowing it to be published. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2012

  • 06/11/2010 – Corris, Wales – Orange Sphere Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Originally forwarded by Richard Hall Author: Dave Hodrien Last Updated: 27/11/2012 For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used In November 2010 Helen and her boyfriend Chris experienced a sighting of a large glowing spherical UFO near to the village of Corris in Wales. She originally informed PRUFOS about the incident, but in early 2011 decided to post the sighting on Richard Hall’s website, which is how she initially got in touch with me. Sighting Details Mid-evening on 6th November 2010, Helen and Chris were driving from their house at Corris Uchaf along the A487 to the nearby town of Machynlleth to go food shopping. It was around 7.30pm, and an overcast, wet and windy evening. It was already dark due to the time of year but the sky was covered in cloud so the stars were not visible. Aerial map showing the location of Corris Uchaf (A) and Machynlleh (B): As they turned a corner in the road Helen noticed a large circle of light in the sky in front of them. She was chatting with Chris so at first did not really engage with what she was seeing. As the colour of the light was neon orange she assumed at first that it was a street light positioned up high somewhere she had never noticed before. As she looked at the light it slowly dawned on her that there could not be a street light in that position. They came to a clear stretch of road and at this point it became obvious that the light was coming from a huge orange glowing sphere that was suspended high up in the air. Helen had now been watching it for at least a minute, and it hadn't moved at all during this time. Aerial map showing the location of the car when Helen first saw the UFO, and the location of the object: Photograph taken from the initial sighting location with the position of the UFO indicated on it by the witness: She exclaimed to Chris “What the hell is that?!” to which he replied the same. They watched the object for about a minute while Chris found somewhere suitable to pull over the car. As he did so they discussed the idea that it was a Chinese lantern, but quickly dismissed this theory. They had seen lanterns launched from a wedding earlier in the year so knew exactly what they looked like both up close and at a distance. Helen's then considered the idea that it was some kind of planet that had come into view in the sky and for whatever reason appeared very close to the Earth. But deep down she knew it could not be this as the sky was overcast. The object was very large in the sky, about twice the size that the moon would have appeared if it was not hidden by cloud. It had clearly defined edges and was glowing a constant intensely bright orange-red. It was completely silent. Chris stopped the car close to the Braich Goch Inn so they could get out and get a better look at the object. Almost immediately after they got out, the object suddenly ascended at a rapid speed. Chris shouted “It’s moving! Look!” The object then descended back downwards to where it had been, before moving horizontally a short distance and then vanishing without trace! It did not look like it had flown into the clouds. It only took several seconds for it to make these manoeuvres. Aerial map showing the location where the witnesses parked the car, and the location of the object: Photograph taken from the parking location in the direction the UFO was seen: Once it had gone, Helen and Chris got back in their car and continued their journey. On the way home later they looked for it again but it had not returned. Sighting Analysis Helen is completely convinced that what they witnessed was either a covert military craft or a genuine UFO. I would agree with this statement. Often orange orbs of light seen in the sky can probably be explained away by Chinese lanterns. However this object seemed much too large and clearly defined for it to have been a lantern. It also displayed manoeuvres that suggested it was under control – hovering motionless for over two minutes, despite the windy weather, before suddenly moving various directions and then vanishing. A lit inflatable or lantern would surely have drifted in the wind during this time or moved on a continuous path. But it is the apparent size of the object which impresses me the most. Lanterns are actually cylindrical in shape and only appear as orange orbs at a distance. They are not very big and would certainly not appear like something bigger than the moon unless they were very close, at which point their actual shape and structure would become visible. It was clearly not a normal aircraft or helicopter. Due to the manoeuvres it performed it could not have been a hot air balloon. The sighting took place in quite a rural area so perhaps it was a secret aircraft the military were testing out. However due to the appearance of the object this seems quite unlikely. For what purpose would the military be flying a huge glowing spherical object around? It seems more probable to me that the object was not being flown by the military, and was possibly of extra-terrestrial origin. There have been many sightings before of similar UFOs all around the world, some of which I have directly investigated. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2012

  • Sumatra Contact Case - Greys, Visitation, Paranormal Activity

Birmingham UFO Group Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 14/10/2012 Introduction While most contact related cases I have looked into have come from the UK for obvious reasons, I have also occasionally investigated cases from elsewhere in the world. This particular case took place at a very unusual location indeed. When Steve (name changed for reasons of anonymity) was 36 years old, he lived at Lake Toba in Northern Sumatra. The lake is actually a flooded dormant volcano which last erupted 75000 years ago. Steve lived on the large island in the middle of the lake. Aerial photograph of Lake Toba: A lot of the residential housing in the area is made up of Batak houses. These are unusual shaped wooden houses on stilts, which raise the house about 4 feet off the ground. They have very distinctive curved roofs. Inside the houses are open plan, and it is possible to see right up to the roof from the ground floor. It is said that this is where the dead ancestors of the area reside, and there are celebrations held where offerings are given to these ancestors. It is inside one of these houses that Steve’s experience took place. Photograph of some Batak houses: Experience Details It was an evening in January 1999. At the time Steve was staying in his girlfriend’s brother’s rented Batak house. Things were not going well with his relationship and he was planning to leave in the morning. It was around 6 pm and just starting to get dark. Steve was in the house alone. Suddenly he heard a loud bang sound, and the whole of the house vibrated. The noise sounded like wood colliding. He was wondering what had caused the noise and vibrations when it happened again a further two times! Steve assumed it was his girlfriend messing around. He shouted out telling whoever it was to stop. It then happened one more time. He checked outside there was nobody anywhere nearby. It was still relatively light; the sun was just starting to set. There was no wind or rain, and nothing which could have been responsible for the sounds he had heard and vibrations he had felt through the house. He did not want to ask any of the locals if they had also heard the noises as he didn't want to cause any undue concern, so he went back inside. Soon after this Steve decided to go to bed. A while later he suddenly woke with a start. He was lying down in bed facing to the left. He had the distinct feeling that someone was standing behind him inside the house alongside the bed. He also sensed an uncomfortable pain at the base of his spine. He wanted to roll over to take a look, but did not want the person to know that he was awake. It was very dark but h felt that he would still be able to glimpse who was present. So he pretended to shift in his sleep and then began to turn over in the bed. As he turned he saw directly above him a large bright white head floating in the air just below the start of the roof. It appeared to have two dark “pits” of black where the eyes should have been, and a nose, but no visible mouth. He stared at the face and it faded away. As it did so, the pain in his spine also diminished and went away completely. Steve got up out of bed and put the light on. He checked the clock and found that it was about 10pm, which surprised him as it seemed later. He walked around a while, annoyed at himself for being frightened of what he had seen. In the end he decided to go back to sleep. When he awoke in the morning, and headed out to the restaurant to meet up with his girlfriend, he noted that he felt un-naturally tired and drained of energy. Considering the amount of sleep that he had this was unusual. Experience Analysis The two incidents which took place throughout the evening are both quite intriguing. There is no way of knowing if they were connected in any way, but it does seem odd that they would both occur so closely to one another. The banging noise and vibrations that Steve felt through the house in the early evening sounds very unusual indeed. If it had occurred just once it could have been put down to something large colliding with the house, perhaps a piece of debris which then rolled away out of sight, or a vehicle which crashed into it and was then driven away. However it occurred 4 times, and when Steve went outside to check there was nobody around and nothing swinging near to the house which could have been colliding with it numerous times. There was no wind so the noises and vibrations could not have been caused by weather conditions. However it is possible that they were caused by the house starting to subside or collapse. Maybe one of the foundation pillars was beginning to break under the weight of the house but then eventually settled into a new position. This is the only mundane explanation I can think of which could explain this incident. When Steve awoke in the night he sensed a presence behind him in the house, and also felt a pain in his spine. Both of these things have been reported before by contactees, indeed the feeling of a presence is very common indeed. They can also be side effects of experiencing sleep paralysis; however it does not appear that this was occurring here as Steve found that he could move absolutely fine when he tried. The face which he saw is very interesting. From his description it sounds more like some kind of vision rather than a solid physical head floating above him. Steve did not see the head immediately after waking, so it does not sound like it was brought on by a dream that he was just waking up from. He lay in the bed a while before deciding to roll over. The pale complexion of the face and dark “pits” for eyes do sound similar to the features of a Grey. Perhaps the “pits” that he describes were actually large black-coloured eyes. Steve also mentions that no mouth was visible. Again this would fit in with the description of a Grey. These beings have a very thin mouth with no lips. Sometimes this is described as just a thin slit, other times it is not noticed at all. I have asked Steve to draw a picture of how the head looked and if I receive it I will add it to this report. Could this have been a visitation by a Grey, and this was how it decided to appear to Steve? Or perhaps it was a vision brought on by a previous experience, such as an abduction he had just been returned from. These beings are quite elusive and many contactees have spoken of seeing them fade away when they have been observed. Some may feel this is evidence that they are just being seen in the mind of the individual, but I would argue that it is possible they are physically present in the room but then shift into a different dimension when they are discovered. Another possible explanation is that the head was some kind of ghostly apparition. If so this would fit in with the local legends of the area regarding the ancestral spirits! In the morning Steve remembers feeling extremely tired even though he had slept for many hours after the incident had taken place. This is a commonly reported side effect of being abducted. Whether this is relevant to the experience or not is unknown, but it is still worthy of note. I feel that although the incidents which took place may have had mundane explanations, there is still certainly the possibility that Steve experienced an ET visitation while alone in the house, and may have even been abducted prior to or following this visitation. • 06/10/2012 - The Radleys, Birmingham – Black Sphere Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Last Updated: 11/10/2012 Introduction Early on the evening of 6th October 2012, a UFO incident occurred in The Radleys, Birmingham which was witnessed by my friend Chris who was at the time on his way over to my house on a bus. This was confirmed by a second witness the following day, after the first draft of this report was posted on the BUFOG website. It is clear that not only did the incident take place, but that the object was observed by a police helicopter from Birmingham International Airport. Planes were also being re-directed by the airport while the object was present in the area. This report contains up-to-date information on this case, and will be updated with any further developments as they come to light. It includes E-Mail transcripts from the airport and details of a phone call with the police. First Witness Sighting Details On the evening of 6th October 2012 my friend Chris had plans to come across to my house in Solihull for a few hours. He set off from his home in Chelmsley Wood and walked to the bus stop on Moorend Avenue. It was a pleasant and still evening with only light cloud cover. As he reached the bus stop he noticed a distant helicopter in the sky to the South West West in the direction of The Radleys. He got on the 71 bus that travels close past to where I live. Photograph from Moorend Avenue with the approximate position of the helicopter marked: The bus headed to the West until it was on Garretts Green Lane. By now it was around 6.20 pm and the sun was just starting to set. Chris was sitting on the left side of the bus and staring out of the window. As the bus travelled towards a small roundabout, he noticed the same helicopter he had seen earlier on hovering in the sky to the South East. He realised it was a police helicopter, one that is often seen patrolling the area. However directly below it he saw what appeared to be a small black coloured sphere. Photograph ofthe location on Garretts Green where the UFO was first spotted, with the helicopter and object drawn on top: The object was completely motionless. It appeared to be about twice the size of a basketball. He initially assumed that it was something hanging from the base of the helicopter. However Chris has a good knowledge of aircraft and was aware that this type of helicopter does not come equipped with a winch. There was nothing between the helicopter and the object, and something did not feel right about this explanation. Chris kept his eye on the object and the helicopter as the bus made its way along Garretts Green. It then turned onto Sheldon Heath Road. A short distance along this the bus pulled up at a bus stop. The UFO was now a little closer now, and Chris could see that it was not directly under the helicopter but just close to it. So at this point he realised it was definitely not something attached to the helicopter and hanging from it. Photograph from the bus stop on Sheldon Heath Road with the helicopter and object drawn on top: The bus continued on its route and still there was no sign of any movement from the sphere, it was completely motionless. As the bus approached The Radleys pub Chris got his closest view of the sphere. It was still quite small in size, but the police helicopter nearby appeared to be watching it. Up until this point the UFO had been completely stationary in the air. As the bus pulle away from the stop the object appeared to briefly move slowly towards the helicopter before stopping again. The helicopter then appeared to back off a short distance, before it too continued to hover. However Chris stated that he cannot be certain this was not an optical illusion caused by the movement of the bus. Photograph from further down Sheldon Heath Road with the helicopter and object drawn on top: Chris also noticed a man down on the pavement of the island. He appeared to be standing and looking up in the direction of the object and helicopter. It is this man, who also happens to be named Chris, who got in touch with me after reading the initial report on the site! You can read his testimony below. Aerial map of the area showing the location where Chris first spotted the UFO and helicopter (A), the estimated positions of the UFO (B) and helicopter (C), and Birmingham International Airport (D): As soon as Chris arrived at my house he told me about what he had just witnessed. We immediately drove back out to the island near to The Radleys pub and parked up. The police helicopter was still present, but the sphere was nowhere to be seen, much to our disappointment. The helicopter was moving around the area and certainly appeared to be searching for something. Photograph I took of the helicopter still patrolling the area, pointing in the direction of where the UFO had been situated: Whether coincidence or not, while we watched the helicopter, it did stop and hover pointing in the direction where the sphere had been situated. Second Witness Sighting Details As was mentioned earlier, my friend Chris saw someone standing by the roundabout at The Radleys looking up in the direction of the UFO and helicopter. This individual got in touch with me on Sunday 7th October to confirm that he too had seen the object, and had witnessed events for much longer than Chris had. Below is his testimony in his own words: "Regarding this incident, I was the man he saw by the bus stop. The helicopter had been searching a large area of the estate for about 1 hr before I left the house to go the the shops. As I approached Garretts Green Lane the helicopter stopped above my head and edged forwards at a slow pace, that's when I saw the sphere. It was much larger than a football and pure black. I watched the object along with the police for around 40 minutes, the helicopter approached a few times then backed off, all this time I noticed no movement at all from the object. The helicopter must have become low on fuel as suddenly it flew away in the direction of its base. At this point I decided that I would go to the shop and kept glancing back. Just before I entered the shop I looked and it was gone. After coming out of the shop, I went back to where I had been standing and looked long and hard but no sign of it, then the helicopter returned to the spot and also began searching. After searching the local sky, the helicopter lowered as if to land on the parkland, at a height of about 50 ft it hovered and rotated as if searching the park. The nest place it searched was the street next to the park, then it began an ever widening search of the sky. This went on for about a half hour before the helicopter left the area. All the time this was happening, no planes took off or landed and the ones approaching to land were going back into the sky. This is part of the airport landing approach path." As the witness actually watched the helicopter until it left the area for good, this means that he must have actually still been present when myself and Chris returned to the roundabout. Birmingham International Airport Correspondance I first got in touch with Birmingham International Airport on the evening of 7th October. My first E-Mail focused on the re-directed air traffic and whether anything was picked up on radar: "Good morning, I believe that the area known as The Radleys to the North West West of the airport lies directly in the landing/take off flight path. On the evening of Saturday 6th October 2012 at around 5.30 pm and for at least an hour, aircraft on approach to the airport appeared to be re-directed away from The Radleys, and no planes were observed taking off and travelling over the area. Please can you confirm any of the following: - Whether the landing/take off flight path for the airport does pass over The Radleys. - Whether this area was set to "off limits" for aircraft for any period of time on Saturday evening. - The reason or reasons why this was done. - Whether anything unusual was picked up on radar by air traffic control in the vicinity of The Radleys during this time. If you are not able to answer these questions, please re-direct this E-Mail as appropriate. I hope to hear from you soon, Dave Hodrien" During the following day I received a response from the Birmingham International Airport Environmental Impacts Specialist. It reads as follows: "Dear Dave Thank you for your email. As you may know, Birmingham Airport has one runway which operates in two directions: Runway 15 and Runway 33. The direction of operations is dependent upon meteorological conditions. When Runway 15 is in use aircraft will land from the North and depart to the South. When Runway 33 is in use the aircraft will land from the South and depart to the North. As The Radleys is directly to the North of the airfield it will be overflown by arrivals or departure, depending on the runway direction in use. On the evening of the 6th October a kite was reported as potentially being in the area to the North of the airfield and therefore, as a precaution, aircraft were temporarily arriving and departing from the South only. This was a very unusual occurrence and operations are now back to normal. I trust this answers your query Regards XXXXXXXXXXXXXX Environmental Impacts Specialist Birmingham Airport" With the re-direction of air traffic confirmed, and any radar activity left open to interpretation, I replied with a further E-Mail on the evening of 8th October to ask more questions, this time directed more towards the activity of the police helicopter and the object itself: "Hello XXXXXXX I thank you for taking the time to get back to me regarding the re-directed aircraft on the evening of 6th October, it is much appreciated. I was wondering if I may ask a few more questions about the incident, as myself and others I know who were in the area at the time are intrigued about what took place. Would you be able to confirm any of the following: - How the airport initially found out about this potential kite to the North of the airport. Did a member of the public ring or did a pilot spot it while on ascent/descent from/to the airport? - When this report initially came in. - Whether a police helicopter was sent out from the airport to locate the kite. - Whether they did find this kite in the area of The Radleys. - If a kite was found, any details about what it actually looked like and whether it was being flown by someone or had been tethered. - Any details about what was done after this kite was found and how the situation was resolved. - Approximately what time normal air traffic resumed. Please feel free to re-direct this if you do not know the answers to the above but know someone else at the airport who would be able to answer some/all of these questions. If you have a log of the initial warning report that I would be able to take a look at this would also be great, but I fully understand if you are not able to provide this. Many thanks, Dave Hodrien" At 1.26pm on 9th October I was E-Mailed by the Environmental Impacts Specialist to ask whether she could speak to me directly via phone instead of E-Mail: "Dave Is there a telephone number I can contact you on? Thanks" I responded with the following: "Sure. My mobile number is XXXXXXXXXXX. Look forward to hearing from you. If you can’t ring until later I will be on the road between 5-6." At 4.01pm the Environmental Impacts Specialist got in touch. She initially asked what my interest was in what had taken place due to the number of questions I was asking. I informed her that on Saturday evening my friend and another witness observed a police helicopter and something unusual in the sky over The Radleys. I explained that I wanted to confirm whether the helicopter seen had been sent out from the airport, and whether what was observed was the “kite” that the air space was shut down for. She informed me of the following: - The “kite” North of the airport was initially radioed in by a pilot on take-off from the airport. - The air space was immediately shut down due to safety concerns. - A police helicopter was indeed sent out from the airport to investigate. - She is unaware whether the helicopter found anything or not. - Due to the fact it was getting dark and foggy, the air space was shut down until the following morning. I asked her if she would be able to find any contacts who I could speak with in more depth about what the helicopter did or didn’t find. She said she would take a look and if she found anyone she would send me their contact details. The lady seemed very helpful and open, and I do not believe she was personally trying to cover anything up about the incident. However the call did not provide an adequate conclusion to what took place. I followed up the call with another E-Mail just to remind the Environmental Impacts Specialist that my correspondence with the airport was not yet complete: "Hi XXXXXXX, Thanks very much for your call. As discussed, if you can find any contacts I could speak with regarding what, if anything, the helicopter found when it was sent out this would be very much appreciated. Also I did not ask how you got the all clear in the morning. Was someone sent out again to take a look around or was it just assumed that the air space was now clear? Sorry if you're getting a little fed up with questions but I would very much like to know whether what my friend and the other man saw was this kite that the pilot radioed in. Thanks, Dave" I received a response via phone at 3pm on 11th October. In it the Environmental Impacts Specialist informed me of the following: - The police helicopter did locate the object and confirmed that it was a kite just as the pilot had initially reported. - She did not know how this kite was removed after it had been found or any further details about it. - Due to the fact that it was getting dark and the forecast predicted fog the air traffic continued to be re-directed until given the all clear in the morning. - She could not provide me with any official logs stating what had been found or how it was dealt with. - She did not know of any other contacts I could speak with to get more information. West Midlands Police Phone Call While I corresponded with the airport on 8th October, I asked my friend Chris to contact West Midlands Police to ask whether they could shed any light on what he had observed. I felt it would be better if he spoke with them directly rather than me speak on his behalf. Afterwards he provided me with an overview of what had been said: "A woman answered the phone. She had to go find a point of contact for me in Solihull area and then I was transferred to a different lady there. After giving my account I was told that there was nothing in the incident logs. She also stated that other counties fly their helicopter in or through the Solihull area, such as Warwickshire Police, and she suggested it may have been their helicopter instead. She said that they would contact me if anything did come to light and if it was possible to tell me." Incident Analysis I am certain that something was present in the area which was observed by both witnesses and possibly others. The question is, what was it? The official word from Birmingham International Airport is that it was confirmed as a kite. On the phone call on 9th October I was told that the "kite" had initially been reported by an aircraft pilot during take-off. He would have only observed this object at a distance. So when he radioed in that he had spotted a "kite" this does not necessarily mean this is what it was - what he meant was that there was an aerial object in the vicinity. However according to the phone call on 11th October, the police helicopter confirmed that it was a kite. From the two sightings it is clear that this helicopter got quite close to the object and got a good look at it. Indeed the helicopter remained in the area for a while after the object had disappeared. It is certainly possible that by "kite" they simply meant a small floating man-made object. Therefore as well as look at a kite as the explanation, we must also consider the possibly that it was an inflatable or "solar airship", possibly tethered though this is not yet confirmed either way. If you are unfamiliar with what a solar airship is, I will briefly explain. They are essentially large and thin plastic hollow shapes, generally elongated and cylindrical. On a hot day the air inside them heats up causing them to drift up into the sky. They can look very impressive due to their large size, and I have received numerous reports before which have turned out to be these objects. They are generally black in colour to aid with heat absorption, however other colours also exist. It is possible to create home-made solar airships by tying bin bags together. Photograph of a typical purchased solar airship: Photograph of a home-made solar airship made out of bin bags: The object was definitely spherical in shape as it was observed from numerous angles, so this rules out the possibility that it was a normal cylindrical-shaped solar airship. However it was quite small in size. Solar airships need to be quite large so there is enough air inside them to heat up. If you simply tie a knot in a black bin bag with air inside and put it outside on a hot day it will not take off, you would need to stitch together numerous bin bags for this to take place. These home-made solar airships also usually change shape, twist and turn in the air due to the manner that they have been constructed and how light weight they are. It is very unlikely that one of these would appear completely spherical from all angles. It should also be noted that although the weather was not bad, it was not a particularly sunny day. Solar airships usually only work correctly on very bright sunny days. Due to all of the above, I believe the solar airship explanation can be ruled out. Therefore we shall now explore the possibility that it was a spherical kite or inflatable. If the object was untethered and drifting of its own accord then it would certainly have moved in the time it was observed for. The second witness saw the object for over 40 minutes, during which time it remained completely still. I find it nigh on impossible that an untethered object would hang still in the air for that period of time without drifting. So if it was a kite or inflatable then it would have had to have been tethered. However after conferring with Chris there are a number of significant issues with the explanation that it was a either a tethered kite or inflatable: The shape and colour of the object would be highly unusual to begin with. This is especially true if the object was a kite. Although it is possible for a kite to be made in a spherical shape (see below photograph), this shape is very rare. It would also be unusual to see a completely black coloured kite, usually they are multiple colours. Black balloons are of course more common, and can sometimes be spherical in shape, though are usually more egg-shaped. Photograph of a spherical kite: Picture of a black spherical balloon: It was a very still evening with no wind blowing at all. Therefore if it was a kite it would not have remained in the air for long, and certainly not remained completely stationary for at least 40 minutes. When kites are flown there needs to be at least a small breeze blowing and they need to be tilted and controlled using a tether to keep airborne. It would be possible for a kite or inflatable to be held roughly in place at the end of a stretched tether line by air currents, but for this a strong breeze in one direction would need to be blowing. In this situation you would expect to see the kite/inflatable being buffeted around by the wind, not remain completely motionless. The only mundane explanation which does seem plausible when looking at just the object appearance itself is that it was a helium-filled inflatable tied down with a tether line, and floating in still weather conditions at the end of this tether. However the police helicopter moved quite close to the object. My friend Chris stated that it was within 100 metres of the object and level with it. Therefore surely if it was some kind of balloon it would have been buffeted around by the down draft from the rotor blades? However it remained completely stationary. Both witnesses have eluded to the fact that it looked like a solid object under powered control rather than something merely drifting. In my phone call with the Environmental Control Officer of Birmingham International Airport it was confirmed that a police helicopter had been sent from the airport to try and locate the object. We can therefore assume that the police helicopter over The Radleys was this helicopter rather than another which happened to be patrolling the area. However this is a complete contradiction to what Chris was told by the police on 8th October. He was informed that there was nothing in their logs about a helicopter being called out at that time. However it is possible that he was put through to a department who had not dealt with the incident in any way, this cannot be confirmed either way at present. But if it was the right department then there is evidence here that the police may have been covering up the fact that a helicopter was sent out. It is quite clear that the occupants of the helicopter were actively observing the object for a period of time. They were hovering close to the object for at least 40 minutes, so I think it's safe to assume that they were aware of its presence and interested in it for one reason or another. If it was a kite/inflatable then the helicopter pilots could not do anything about it directly, there would need to have been ground units sent to remove it from the area and clear the flight path. Neither witness recalls seeing any police on the ground in the area at the time. However there is always the possibility that they were present but were just out of sight. But surely it would not have taken these ground units 40 minutes to locate the end of the tether and either cut it, drag the object down or ask the owner of the kite/inflatable to do the same? I also find it odd that the helicopter would need to remain close to the object for such a period of time after it had been located. After the object had gone or been lost from sight it then continued to remain in the area for another 30 minutes, appearing to conduct some kind of search. If it were a kite/inflatable which had then been taken down or released, why would they have needed to remain in the area for a long while afterwards or indeed been searching for anything? It was still completely light when the sphere was observed by both Chris and the other witness. Indeed it was only starting to get dark when we returned to The Radleys, by which time the object had disappeared. It was clear from both reported sightings that the police helicopter had not only located the object, but was observing it for a long period of time. Surely if it was a kite or other tethered object then it would have been promptly removed and the flight corridor re-opened long before the sun had set? It was mentioned that the air traffic was re-directed till the following morning because it was starting to get dark and foggy. Below is the weather forecast for the area of Solihull (Which The Radleys and Birmingham International Airport are part of) for 6th October: As you  can see, this does indicate that fog was predicted around 9pm. To my knowledge this forecast was wrong, at least for around the outskirts of Solihull, The Radleys and Chelmsley Wood. Chris left my house about 11pm and there was no sign of any fog, it was completely clear. Chris also confirmed that there was no fog at any point on his journey home. However the airport would have gone along with what the forecast was predicting not what actually took place, so there is nothing overly suspicious about this. I have not yet heard back from the second witness to hear his thoughts on the above possible explanations for the incident. Nor have I any idea of the period of time during which the object mysteriously vanished. It could be anything from a couple of seconds to a few minutes. This is a very important factor to consider, and once I hear back from the second witness I will update this report with the details. After weighing up all of the above, I feel that although there is a possibility that the object was some kind of tethered kite or inflatable, there are also numerous aspects which seem at odds with this explanation. It’s pretty unlikely, though not impossible, that it was a strange spherical-shaped remote control model which was then flown away after both witnesses were not looking at it. However you would usually expect to see wings and a visible means of propulsion with such devices. Also if this was the explanation then the helicopter would have informed the airport of this. While spherical military drones do exist, they are quite rare. The majority of UAVs have visible propellers wings/extensions. As you can see from the below photograph, spherical drones that have been developed have certain sections open to the air to allow for the internal propellers to keep the object in flight. If the object was a military drone then surely the police helicopter would have known about this and not felt the need to approach and observe it. Military UAVs are also quite loud. The second witness was watching the object outside, and did not report that any sound came from the sphere. If it was a military drone then surely the airport would have been aware of this and not re-directed the air traffic? I also find it very unlikely that the military would feel the need to fly a drone over the area of The Radleys for a period of time, although this cannot be entirely ruled out. Photograph of a spherical military drone: After speaking with my friend in great detail and receiving the testimony of the second witness, I feel there is enough evidence to at least suggest that this may have been a genuine sighting of an advanced spherical-shaped craft. Due to the small size it is unlikely it was manned, and may have been an observational device. Small sphere-shaped UFOs have been reported many times before by people from all around the world, and they are often seen to hover motionless for a time before suddenly leaving the area, just as was reported here. More often than not they are silver in colour, though I have investigated some other sightings of black coloured spheres. The correspondence with the airport has now drawn to a close, and so far I have not received any further E-Mails from the second witness, so it's really down to whether or not you believe the story from the airport after considering all of the above information.
