  • Light Beings Contact Case - Glowing Symbols, Communication

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 03/12/2008 In most extraterrestrial encounters there appears to be no interaction with the witnesses, they are merely observers of something extraordinary. However occasionally there can be actual contact with alien beings and communication on numerous different levels. Sometimes these experiences can have a profound and long term effect on the people involved. This seems to be the case with Emily (name changed for privacy reasons), who earlier in her life had a fascinating encounter with what she believes was an extraterrestrial intelligence. Her experiences were quite unusual and have had an impact on her life ever since. The Experiences Emily believes her experiences began towards the end of 1974 when she was 29 years old. At this time in her life something strange began to happen. She felt she was being surrounded by a strong force of some kind, and that this force was causing her to think more about the spiritual side of her life. At the beginning of February 1975 she began to experience symptoms usually associated with pregnancy, but Emily knew that she wasn’t pregnant. This lasted for several days and then stopped. Were these events in some way linked to what was to come? Or did they just have a mundane explanation? Either way, things were about to take a much stranger turn. On the evening of February 23rd she suddenly began to feel feverish and went to bed. About 2-3am she awoke to what seemed to be someone turning the bedroom door handle. The kids were in the bedroom with her and her husband was away so she knew it wasn’t them. She was a little afraid so remained in bed. Next there was a single loud knock on the door. Shortly after this she saw directly in front of her a small silvery ball of light at the foot of her bed at eye level. She thought to herself “What is that and where on earth did it come from?” She checked the window to make sure it was not light coming through or reflected from it but the curtains were fully closed. The light began to change shape, becoming longer and longer until it resembled a vertical strak of light, emitting a bluish-white glow. The light moved along in front of the bedroom wardrobes. It seemed to be keeping its distance from her, which she attributed to some form of intelligence, as if it were aware of her presence and did not want to alarm her. She then noticed another similar light at the bedroom door. As the initial light reached this other light it seemed to join up with it and then disappeared. She then fell into a deep sleep. A couple of hours later she woke up with a heavy pain in her stomach and lower back as if she was about to give birth. After a while this pain slowly subsided and she went back to sleep. In the morning she thought about the lights she had seen and wondered what they were. She told her husband and friends, and they believed she had had some sort of vision. However she found this difficult to comprehend and thought there may be another explanation. Four weeks later in the early hours of March 24th she suddenly woke up and felt the need to look around her room. She saw two small balls of yellowish-red light to her right, closer to her than the previous time. One was positioned above the other one. She sat up in bed, curious as to what they were. Watching them she said out loud “I accept your presence. What do you want?” There was no reply but again she sensed that they were some form of intelligence. The upper ball of light disappeared. The other one slowly floated right up to her face shining in her eyes. It backed off a short distance then performed the same action again. After moving back a second time it then appeared to put on some sort of display, brightening and dulling like a twinkling star. During this it appeared a bluish-white colour similar to the first time she saw the lights. It then moved away towards the wardrobes and disappeared. Emily still believes it to be the most supernatural thing she has ever seen. After the light disappeared a peaceful feeling came over her, which lasted most of the next day. Two weeks later she began to experience a feeling of warmth emanating around her waist. This feeling came and went at various times. She had a dream that seemed to explain this warmth. In the dream she felt like she was connected to a universal higher power related to light and energy. She would not see the lights again until June. Again in the early hours of the morning she was awakened from her sleep. This time a light appeared on the wall of her bedroom. It appeared in the shape of a vertical bar of bluish-white light with a ring of light around the outside of it. She watched it disappear and reappear a while before dropping off to sleep. At this time she was not aware of the lights significance. Early morning on October 18th she awoke to see a light in her bedroom once again displaying the shape of a bar with a ring around it. She felt it was trying to show her something of profound spiritual significance, and that she had to find out what it meant. After her encounters with the lights, the feeling of heat radiating from inside her continued. Over time it moved up the centre of her back. Two years later she finally plucked up enough courage to visit her GP and discuss these feelings. He could provide no answer to either the lights or the heat, other than to say she seemed to be mentally stable. Over time the feeling of heat moved up to the top of her head, and then down onto her face and throat. After searching for answers in various books, Emily came to the conclusion that these feelings of pain/heat were the awakening of latent energy within her body, the opening of some of her seven major Chakras Centres. Emily also believes that some form of telepathic communication began after her experiences, where she would receive words or information directly into her mind. In early 1985 she received three words that were constantly impressed upon her against her wishes – atom, alchemy and transmutation. She tried to ignore this but found she could not, and in the end decided to start reading up about the meaning of these words in science books. Later she received another telepathic message telling her to relate the science of the atom to herself and that she would come to understand. She also received telepathically two geometric symbols – a circle within a triangle, and a triangle within a circle. After all the years that have gone by Emily now feels she understands her place in the universal cosmos. She believes that the opening of her Chakras was the direct result of her experiences with the lights, and that this in turn heightened her sensitivity and telepathic abilities. Drawings & Shape Explanations The below explanations are what Emily has come to believe are the reasons for the shapes the lights took on the numerous occasions that she saw them, and the symbols she received telepathically: February sighting – Ball of light becomes vertical streak: Symbolised the beginning and the end. In it’s vertical position it is then possible to create any other shape/form from it, in the same way that energy can change it’s form. 📷 March sighting – Two balls of light, one positioned above the other: The balls of light themselves symbolised orbital completeness. Their formation symbolised “as above, so below” – a message that the human race is not alone in the cosmos, and that we and the ETs are all part of the same universal energy. 📷 June & October sightings – Vertical bar of light with ring around it: There are two explanations for the shapes seen – a physical explanation and a spiritual explanation. In the physical explanation the vertical bar represents a group of individuals (both contactees and extraterrestrial beings) working in harmony to pass on the complete truth to the rest of the human race. During this time they will receive universal protection, this is what the ring of light represents. In the spiritual explanation, the circle represents different universal dimensions, and the vertical bar represents a doorway through which the mind can travel to access these dimensions. 📷 Telepathic symbols – Circle within a triange, and triangle within a circle: Emily believes these represent universal equality, that on a universal level all things are related and equal. Conclusions In searching for answers for all of this, it is quite hard to come up with an explanation as Emily’s experiences are so unusual. They involve a combination of factors, which may or may not be extraterrestrial in nature. In regards to the various lights that she saw, there could be numerous possibilities. Emily states that she felt unusual/feverish before sighting the lights for the first time. Were they some form of hallucination or dream brought about as a direct result of illness? Emily claims that the curtains were fully drawn in her room, but was she mistaken? Perhaps the lights were simply caused by a light source outside of her window. However this theory cannot explain the later sightings which appeared to be hovering close to her face and performing manoeuvres in the room. Could the lights have been caused by electrical phenomena such as ball lightning? There are numerous documented cases reporting ball lightning appearing as small bluish-white or yellowish glowing orbs of light which slowly drift around. But this would not explain how the lights changed shape in front of her eyes. There is the possibility that the lights were phenomena of another kind altogether, such as spirit energy. Or were they, as Emily believes, an extraterrestrial intelligence that was making contact with her? As for the feelings of pain and heat that she experienced at various times, could these have been caused by illness, or were they really linked to the light encounters? It seems too much of a coincidence that they started around the same time in her life. Also she did visit both a GP and a psychiatrist, who declared that she was fit, both physically and mentally. Whether or not you believe these feelings were caused by the opening of her body chakras is a totally different subject, so it will not be covered in any more depth here. It is hard to speculate about the telepathic communications Emily has stated she received. Were these real or imaginary? Could they have been brought on by her willingness to search for answers to her experiences or was a genuine extraterrestrial influence at work? Emily certainly believes that her experiences were extraterrestrial in nature, and it has changed her life profoundly in many ways. She still searches for answers to what happened, and wonders what the future has in store for her. I am sure you agree it is a very interesting case. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2008

  • November 1989 - Brecon Beacons - Multi-lighted UFO Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 29/12/2008 Last Updated: 26/06/2019 Sighting Details Back in November 1989 my ex-wife Katie Hodrien, and her great aunt Janice, had a stunning close encounter with a UFO while crossing the Brecon Beacons. It is something that even after all these years they remember quite vividly. After interviewing them both about the incident I can now reveal to you what occurred. At the time of the sighting, Katie was eleven years old and her brother Tim was five. They had been on holiday visiting Janice at Leamington Spa. She was driving them home to Neath in South West Wales. Their journey took them across the Brecon Beacons moor. Overhead map of sighting location: 📷 Photograph from reservoir showing area where sighting took place: 📷 It was early evening and quite dark in the sky, but the moorland was still partially visible. The weather was clear and there was very little cloud. The road was deserted and there were no other cars on it. Katie was sitting on the back seat next to her brother and staring out of the back window of the car. She noticed in the sky an object with a row of coloured lights along it. The object was quite far away and high up. There were too many lights along it to be a normal aircraft. They were flashing and changing colours, mostly white and red but some other colours too. The object was moving slowly across the sky. Katie alerted her great aunt to the object, and she also glanced back at it. The object seemed to keep changing position in the sky. It was there one minute, gone the next, and it kept reappearing in different places in relation to the moving car. Janice was trying to scare Katie and Tim about the object, saying it was going to come and get them. How the object appeared at a distance: 📷 Suddenly the object appeared much closer to the car and much lower in the sky, Katie estimates under 100 foot up. Both Katie and Janice could now clearly see that the lights were in a curved line as if along the edge of a large disc shaped object, however the main body of the object could not be seen. Katie estimates that it was at least twice as big as a house. It was behind and to the right of the car hovering in the sky. At this point Janice decided to stop to get a photograph of the object as she was very interested in what it could be. She pulled up at the side of the road and got out. She went round to the back of the car and opened the boot to get her camera. The object appeared to now be stationary and it was completely silent. How the object appeared to Katie when up close: 📷 Position of the object in relation to the car: 📷 Katie started to panic at this point and was screaming at Janice to get back in the car. Janice was also a little un-nerved by the object but mostly fascinated by it. She got the camera out but couldn’t work out how to use the night setting on it. Because of this, and the fact that Katie was very frightened, she decided to get back in the car and continue driving. After this neither witness looked back to see if the object was still following them so it was not seen again. Janice also informed me of something else unusual which occurred. Shortly after they continued on their journey, there was suddenly a huge glow of bluish-white light that lit up the hills in front of the car. The glow lasted for up to ten seconds before dying away. Janice felt it was linked to the object which they had seen but because Katie was frightened she did not tell her about it. A Related Sighting? In June 2008, Dr Simon Griffey saw mysterious lights over the Brecon Beacons. His reported sighting has numerous similarities with what Katie and Janice witnessed. Below is the article that appeared in The Sun on 27th June 08 including a photograph: The Green Green Men Of Home By JOHN COLES A baffled university don who spotted a UFO over the Brecon Beacons last night said: “There is no logical explanation.” Dr Simon Griffey saw lights loom over a mountain village – before they disappeared. His close encounter is the third reported in the space of just five days, following sightings by the Army and police. Simon, a doctor of psychology at Cardiff University, said: “I’ve had loads of theories proposed by friends and neighbours but none of them add up.” Dr Griffey, 50, and his son Jack, 23, were driving near Llangynidr Mountain in the Brecon Beacons, Powys, when they spotted lights over Talybont-on-Usk. He said: “There was no noise whatsoever, it was a bit eerie. I’ve driven over this mountain for 17 years and have never seen anything like it. There were seven lights and having read the description from the soldiers in Shropshire, there are some similarities. They were the same sort of colour and the same spherical shape that they reported. I know I wasn’t seeing things because Jack saw exactly the same as I did – and two other cars pulled over to look.” Sceptics have suggested the sightings could be huge man-made lanterns floating into the sky. But the boffin, of Llangynidr, said: “It was too big. It was way above the horizon and stayed there for 15 minutes. It was a bit smaller than a full moon – quite big and high up.” Jack recorded the phenomenon on his mobile phone – but when they examined the pictures later, they found only three of the seven lights showed up. 📷 Conclusions To this day, both witnesses are convinced that the object they saw was definitely not a conventional aircraft or helicopter of any kind. The arrangement and number of lights on the object, and the way that they were changing colours seem to suggest something very unusual. Janice and Katie both mentioned independently that the object was very large and disc-shaped even though the main body of it could not be made out. Also the object was completely silent even when it approached, and it seemed to be able to move or hover still in the air at will. The area of the Brecon Beacons is used for military training and often jets are flown over it. Could the object have been a secret advanced aircraft of some kind? This is a possibility, but if this were the case then why did it appear to be following the witness’s car as if interested in it? Surely the pilots would have wanted to keep such a craft away from the eyes of the public? The glowing light that lit up the hillside shortly after the sighting of the UFO is also very interesting. The only natural thing which could possibly account for such a sight would be sheet lightning. However Janice said that it stayed visible far too long for it to have been this. Also the weather was clear and it only occured once so it seems very unlikely that this would have been the cause. In all the years since the years since the incident, Janice has never seen anything else like it, even though she has driven over the Brecon Beacons many times. • Sheldon Contact Case Report - Greys, UFO Sightings, Psychic Abilities, Paranormal Activity

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 05/01/2009 Ken Butcher and his wife live on the Coventry Road, just at the edge of Sheldon. His daughter lives on the same row of housing. The family have experienced not only a number of interesting UFO sightings, but has also experienced a lot of unexplained activity in their homes. There are also a number of incidents which possibly suggest that extraterrestrial contact has taken place in Ken’s life. These incidents include visions of Grey beings while under hypnosis and the discovery that he possesses a spiritual healing ability which he has actively used over a number of years. Because of what he has seen over the years, Ken has an active interest in UFOs and the paranormal. Aerial map of location of UFO sightings & paranormal occurences: 📷 This report details the many varied experiences of Ken and his family. In it I will give my own opinions on the incidents, but it is ultimately down to you to decide which of these experiences may be extraterrestrial in origin. Nosebleeds When Ken was younger he used to often wake up in the middle of the night with a nosebleed. Ken says this has also happened to his wife and daughter a number of times. Of course this could just be coincidence, but he was interested to find out that contactees can suffer from nosebleeds, sometimes though not always, related to alien implants. Healing Ability Many years ago when Ken started looking into the paranormal, he had an interest in clairvoyance and psychic abilities. He wondered whether there was any truth in it, and whether people really could predict the future or detect certain things about others. In 1992 he decided to visit a clairvoyant and was told numerous things which were going to take place in his life. In the following months, some of the things which the clairvoyant had said actually came true, which intrigued Ken even further. A couple of years went by and again he decided to visit a different clairvoyant. During this session, she told Ken that he had the ability to heal. At the time Ken thought this must be nonsense. But he went along with it and asked the clairvoyant how he was meant to use this ability. She informed him that he would be able to heal ailments by placing his hands over the affected area, concentrating and wishing the healing to take place. At the time, Ken’s wife had had an operation on her knee and was in great pain. Ken returned home and told her about what the clairvoyant had said. Ken tried to laugh it off, but his wife asked him to give it a try just out of interest. When Ken held both his hands on his wife’s knee and asked to be connected to spirit in his mind, as the clairvoyant had instructed him to do, he felt his hands start to vibrate. He was amazed at what was happening and wondered whether his ability was genuine. Afterwards he asked his wife how her knee felt, and she told him the pain had gone away! Ken could barely believe what he was being told at first. A couple of days later, his wife’s niece injured her elbow at work. His wife suggested he should try healing her injury in the same way as before. Once again after Ken had laid his hands on the injured area, the pain subsided and never returned. It appeared that Ken possessed a real ability to heal. After this word started to get around, and more and more people started coming to him for healing. People with cancer or other diseases, physical injuries, and others who were suffering from depression. The healing did not work all the time, but Ken says about 75% of the time it would actually work. Using his ability he has apparently made cancers actually disappear, much to the amazement of the individuals involved and their doctors! As well as the vibrations felt through his hands, Ken says that sometimes his hands could feel warm yet they would feel intensely cold to the patient, other times it would be the opposite of this – his hands would feel cold but when he started the healing the patient would feel intense heat coming from them. He would not only heal people, he also healed pets on a number of occasions. His own pet guinea pig had a big ulcer on it’s back. He took it to the vet who didn’t give it much chance, but soon afterwards Ken decided to try using his ability on it and within a few days it had completely cleared up. He has also healed his pet rabbit’s spinal injury. Another rabbit was attacked by a fox and had a number of cracked ribs. The vet said it would take up to six months to heal, yet after Ken tried using his healing technique on it, it appeared to return to normal almost immediately. Ken has even tried healing faulty electrical equipment using his ability. He used to have CCTV set up with a small monitor. The monitor started to play up, and would occasionally lose the image. Just as an experiment, he put the monitor on his lap and went through the same healing technique. When he started using the monitor again it appeared to be fully working! Ken was an active spiritual healer until 2006. However in doing this healing work, and helping many individuals through depression and sickness, he began to suffer from depression himself. He decided that he would stop using his ability before it caused him any long term harm. He does not fully understand the reasons behind his ability, but does believe that it is genuine. When Ken began to look into the contactee aspect of the UFO phenomenon, he was amazed to find out that many contactees report receiving special abilities as a direct result of their experiences – including healing, precognition and heightened senses. Seeing Greys In 2005 Ken became very interested in reincarnation and past lives. He wondered if he had any past lives, and decided to arrange to be regressed by a hypnotist. He had never been hypnotised before. He got in contact with a man who wished to write a book to try and prove or disprove the theory of reincarnation. The man agreed to hypnotise him over six sessions on a weekly basis. Through these regression sessions Ken apparently found out that he had a number of past lives. However I feel this is a completely separate subject, so this report will not look into this in too much detail. Of far greater interest is what took place during the first two of these six sessions. When Ken was put under hypnosis for the first time, he was shocked to immediately see a tall Grey-type being standing right in front of him. The being had blue-grey coloured skin, was roughly six foot in height, and had large almond-shaped black eyes. He does not remember seeing a mouth, but it had two small round nostrils. The being appeared to be unclothed. It was standing within a few feet of Ken, and staring right into his face. Due to the shock of seeing this being, he immediately came out of hypnosis. Drawing of the Grey being seen under hypnosis: 📷 Neither he nor the hypnotist could understand what he had just seen, or the reason behind its appearance. He had not been discussing UFOs or aliens at all, and it was nothing to do with the purpose of the session. Ken was aware of what Greys looked like and had knowledge of the subject, but was completely mystified as to why he had seen one. The hypnotist decided to terminate the session due to how the vision had affected Ken. The following week Ken returned to the hypnotist to try again. This time the hypnotist got Ken to picture a winding path leading down to a beach in his mind. He got Ken to begin walking down this path, which would slowly put him deeper and deeper under hypnosis. Ken reached the beach and began walking along it. The hypnotist asked him to picture an alcove and go and sit down in it. He then asked Ken to describe what he could see. Immediately Ken again saw a Grey-type being. This time it had pale grey coloured skin and appeared shorter than the being he had seen the previous week. It was again within a few feet of him and was crouching forward staring into his face. Behind the being Ken saw what looked like a metallic silver saucer-shaped craft. Once again the vision brought him out of hypnosis. Drawing of the 2nd Grey being and saucer craft: 📷 The hypnotist found these visions unusual, but because he did not have an interest in UFOs or alien contact he did not pursue the incidents further. The next time Ken was put under hypnosis he no longer saw any beings or craft. All his remaining sessions went as planned. Premonitions Ken believes he has had a number of premonitions while sleeping. These premonitions appear to come to him in dreams, but warn of real events which are to take place. On one occasion back in 1999 he dreamt he was trying to push a small carriage off a railway line. However he was not able to push it off the track, and a train came along and collided with it. He then saw a very pretty Asian girl who was shocked about what had just happened and exclaimed “Oh my god!”. Ken put his arm round the girl and told her everything was fine and started laughing. In the morning he got into his van to go to work. He pulled out of the drive and immediately a car ran into the back of the van. He got out and started walking towards the car. The driver was a woman who had her hands up in front of her face. She got out of the car and Ken was shocked to find that it was the woman from his dream. Just as had happened in the dream, the woman was upset and Ken put his arm round her and told her everything was fine. Ken was amazed that aspects of the dream had come true, but was puzzled as to the meaning of the train. He spoke to a friend who was a clairvoyant, and they informed him that sometimes premonitions would be symbolic, and that the train hitting the carriage had meant that there was going to be an accident of some kind. He has dreamt about many different disasters before they have taken place including natural disasters such as earthquakes, and fatal train and plane crashes. In 2004 he dreamt about the Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami prior to its occurrence. In the dream he was standing at the water’s edge when suddenly the ground began shaking at his feet and someone shouted “Earthquake!” He looked out to sea and saw a massive wall of water heading towards him. The night before the 2007 London bombings Ken had a dream where he was standing in an underground station with smoke everywhere and people running about screaming. Ken sometimes also gets strange feelings that bad things are going to take place. He often follows these feelings and believes that they have saved him from danger on a number of occasions. For example, many years ago he used to practice martial arts. His training sessions used to take place in a building on the outskirts of Birmingham centre. After a session was over he would usually go for a drink at a nearby pub. All day prior to a particular training session, Ken felt very strange as though something was telling him not to go to it. In the end he decided to stay at home. That evening he checked the news and found that a number of bombs had been detonated in various pubs around Birmingham. One of the pubs which got hit was the one he frequented after his training sessions. Summer 1997-1999 UFO Sighting On a warm clear summer evening between 1997 and 1999, Ken, his wife and daughter were sitting out in front of his house and relaxing together. It was about midnight when suddenly the witnesses saw a glowing object in the sky to the North. It was glowing a bright white all over and was the shape of a rugby ball. For a moment Ken thought it was an airship. However it was heading towards their position much too fast for it to have been this. Within only several seconds it had passed over them and continued onward to the South. It disappeared from view behind the housing, so the witnesses ran around to the front balcony and watched the object disappear into the distance. Photograph of sighting location in direction UFO was first sighted: 📷 The UFO was completely silent and appeared to be at least as high as a low flying plane would typically fly at. Ken describes the speed of the object as absolutely amazing. Even as it passed their position, no detail could be seen on the object, it was just a glowing white shape in the sky. Ken estimates it was at least as big as a private aeroplane, though this was hard to judge as there was no point of reference in the night sky. Drawing of rugby ball shaped UFO: 📷 This is quite an impressive sighting due to the appearance of the object, and the speed it was moving at. It is unlikely to have been a balloon or lantern because it was a still night, and it would surely have drifted much slower than what was observed. Also lanterns or internally lit balloons tend to be orange or yellow in colour but would not usually appear a constant bright white. The clearly defined shape means it was also unlikely to have been a meteorite. It certainly appeared to be quite low in the sky rather than high up in the atmosphere. If it was a remote controlled model of some kind, to have flown at such speed would surely have made a noise, yet the object was silent. Unidentified craft of this particular shape have been reported before, and I feel that that this is quite possibly what was seen. Summer 2005 UFO Sighting On an warm clear summer’s evening in 2005, Ken, his wife and daughter were sitting out on the balcony overlooking the Coventry Road shopping centre and relaxing. Ken was having a few drinks but his wife and daughter were not drinking. It was about 2am in the morning. Ken happened to glance up into the sky. He saw a dull orange orb of light surrounded in a yellow haze/aura. Due to this glowing haze the object reminded Ken of a fried egg. He alerted the others to the object and they all watched as it approached their position from the North West West. Drawing of the dull orange orb: 📷 The object drifted past them and continued on its course to the South East East. They noted that it was completely silent. It reached an area of sky visible behind two tall trees that grow next to the housing area, when suddenly it vanished without trace. There was no clouds so it had not disappeared from sight, it was just gone. In total the sighting had lasted for about 90 seconds. Photograph of sighting location in direction UFO was first sighted: 📷 Photograph of trees behind which UFO vanished: 📷 There is a good possibility that this was a sighting of a spherical Chinese lantern. It’s appearance and colour match how lanterns appear after dark. The fact that the object continued on a straight path across the sky suggests it was drifting in an air current. This may have existed at higher altitude even if it felt quite still at ground level. The sudden disappearance of the object could well have been the flame inside it burning out. I feel this is the most likely explanation for this particular sighting. June-August 2006 UFO Sighting Ken’s most fascinating UFO sighting took place between June and August in 2006. Unlike most of his other sightings, both the appearance and movement of the object was highly unusual. It was a Saturday evening about 7pm, and Ken and his wife were on their way out to the country for a drink. Just as they were leaving the house, a couple of neighbours turned up at their door, so they stood and talked with them a short while. Ken happened to look into the sky to the North West. It was then that he noticed a very peculiar looking object, which appeared to be within a quarter of a mile of their position. He alerted everyone else to its presence, and they too started watching it. The object was diamond shaped with sharp defined edges, and made of a clear see-through material which resembled crystal or glass. The evening sunlight appeared to be reflecting off its surface. At the top point of the object was a round clear ball which was revolving around it slowly. It appeared to be quite low in the sky over the tree line, Ken estimates a few hundred feet at most. The object looked about the same size as a small aeroplane. Drawing of the diamond-shaped UFO: 📷 Ken then went to get his binoculars. Looking at the object with the naked eye, it’s shape could be properly seen, however when Ken looked at it through the binoculars it appeared hazy, as though it was impossible to zoom in and focus on it. The object appeared to be stationary at first. But then suddenly it appeared to fly much further away from their position extremely rapidly until it was lost in the distance. Then it suddenly reappeared back where it had been originally situated. They watched it perform this strange manoeuvre about 3-4 times, and the witnesses were all amazed by what they were looking at. Photograph of sighting location in direction UFO was seen in: 📷 While they watched, an aeroplane appeared on its way to land at Birmingham International Airport to the South East. The plane appeared to fly straight past where the object was situated, and Ken feels sure that the pilot must have seen it. Ken and his wife had planned to meet up with friends at a set time, so decided to leave, with the object still visible in the sky. As he drove along the Coventry Road, Ken checked a number of times to see if he could still see the object but it had either gone or was obscured from sight. Soon Ken reported the sighting to another UFO group (He cannot remember the name but said the group was based in Worcestershire). He was informed that the strange object had been seen and reported by a number of other witnesses in the areas of Sheldon and Small Heath. The following day the sighting appeared in one of the local newspapers (Unfortunately Ken cannot remember which one, and so far I have been unable to locate the article). The object seen on this occasion was completely bizarre and very hard to explain. It was certainly not a conventional aircraft of any kind. However it did seem to have clear structure, with the strange revolving sphere at its upper corner. It is highly unlikely to have been an inflatable object or natural phenomena. Due to the highly unusual movement pattern seen, it also seems very unlikely to have been a remote controlled model. Its movement also suggests that it was under direct control and not drifting in the wind. The object was see-through and did not appear to have any visible components or structure inside it. The fact that it was seen by various witnesses in more than one location means it was certainly real and hovering in the sky. I find this sighting completely fascinating and feel it may well have been a genuine sighting of an object of non-human origin. I hope to track down reports or articles linked with this incident, if I manage to locate anything it will be added here. Winter 2007 UFO Sighting Roughly midnight on a cold winter’s night in 2007, Ken went to lock up his rabbit hutch outside the front of his house. He happened to glance into the sky. It was a clear sky with the stars fully visible. Out of the corner of his eye, coming from his left to the North West West, he saw an iridescent bright green light moving extremely rapidly across the sky. Photograph of sighting location in direction UFO was first sighted: 📷 As the light moved past him to the North, there was a sudden bright white flash, and the light turned a silver colour and continued on its course. It only took a couple of seconds to pass right across the sky out of sight. Drawing showing path of object and flash of light: 📷 Ken admits there is a possibility that what he saw could have been caused by space debris re-entering the atmosphere. However the flash of light seen combined with the change of colour is quite interesting. “Shooting stars” are usually white to orange in colour, rarely bright green, although we cannot rule this explanation out. What we can be certain of is that the light was travelling far too fast for it to have been a conventional aircraft or flying model. May 2008 UFOs Sighting Late evening on the date of this sighting, Ken was in his house. His daughter, who lives a couple of doors down, was taking her pet dogs for a brief walk. It was approximately 9pm, and the sun had set, but it was a warm and dry evening and the stars were visible. She looked up into the sky and noticed something unusual. She quickly ran and knocked on Ken’s front door. When he answered, she asked him to come outside and take a look at something. They both watched as two large round orange orbs surrounded by a yellow haze came from the North West heading in a South Easterly direction on a straight course. The objects were positioned diagonally to one another. They looked and acted similar to the object seen back in 2005, although the haze around them was not as pronounced. Drawing of one of the orange orbs: 📷 Ken and his daughter ran along to the end of the row of housing to continue watching the objects. They reached roughly the area of sky visible behind the tall trees, and just as in the 2005 sighting, suddenly vanished. Photograph of sighting location in direction UFOs were first sighted: 📷 Again I feel that this sighting was most likely of two Chinese lanterns. The fact that they came from the same direction, and vanished around the same place as the orb seen in 2005 possibly suggests that they had been launched from the same location. 26th December 2009 UFOs Sighting It was 8.45pm on Boxing Day evening 2009. Ken was in his house watching TV. Suddenly his daughter banged on the front door. When Ken answered the door, she told him to grab his binoculars and quickly come outside to take a look at something. Ken’s house is above a small shopping centre, and right outside is an open concreted area which is one storey up. This allows a clear unobstructed view of the area. It was a clear, still and cold night, with light cloud cover. Ken stepped outside and was amazed to see between 5-6 orange orbs of light in the night sky to the North West. Photograph of sighting location in direction orbs were first sighted: 📷 Two of the lights appeared to be joined by some sort of linking tube. When he looked at the pair through the binoculars, he could see that the orange glow of the first one was illuminating something in between them which looked like a metallic bar. The three orbs furthest to the right appeared to be almost dancing, they were moving close to each other forming a triangular configuration and then separating again, and loosely hovering around one another. Drawing of the initial orbs seen: 📷 Ken and his daughter watched the orbs for 2-3 minutes as they moved slowly across the sky to the East, then they seemed to fade out one by one. There was one single light left and then this too suddenly went off. Ken was just about to return indoors, when his daughter got his attention again, and they saw another two orange orbs heading in the same direction that the others had been. Ken took a good look at one of them through the binoculars. It was rounded at the top and bright orange, fading to dark yellow below. He then ran inside and got his torch, which is very powerful and bright. He came back outside and started flashing the torch beam at the second orb. At that moment it suddenly appeared to him to increase in brightness, almost as though it was communicating back at him, although Ken admits this could have been just coincidence and down to something else such as atmospheric conditions. Drawing of the final orb as it looked through binoculars: 📷 The final two orbs continued until out of sight. Ken has a camcorder in the house, but at no point of the sighting thought about going to get it as he didn’t want to miss anything. Ken and his daughter stayed outside watching the sky for a further 5 minutes, but it was very cold so decided to head back indoors. Photograph of sighting location in direction orbs were lost from sight: 📷 This sighting is almost certainly of a number of Chinese lanterns. The colour, shape and movement patterns observed all match how lanterns appear. In recent years, lanterns have become very popular, especially around Christmas and New Year. Despite the fact there was no wind near to the ground, the lanterns were more than likely caught in an air current and drifting in the wind direction. The lights would appear to have faded out one by one as the flames in the lanterns died out. The only really puzzling aspect of this sighting is the two which appeared to be joined together. Lanterns are usually launched independently of one another. It is possible that two of them were tethered together, either deliberately or accidentally. Ken says that he has checked out videos of Chinese lanterns on the internet before, and that what he saw looked different. He also said that the objects in this sighting looked different to those seen in his previous sightings from summer 2005 and May 2008. However lanterns come in various shapes and sizes and under different weather conditions can take various forms and I still feel that this is the explanation for this incident. Paranormal Activity As well as numerous UFO sightings, Ken and his wife have experienced many strange occurrences within their house. His daughter has also had a number of unexplained things take place in her own home. Some mornings when Ken has woken up he has felt something moving around the base of the bed pushing down on his feet. He is certain that on these occasions his pet cat was not present in the room, although he says that it does feel quite similar to this. Ken has owned a number of pet cats in the past and wonders if it is the ghost of one of them haunting the room. Shortly after one of his pet rabbits died, Ken was sitting in his armchair in the lounge while his wife was cooking dinner in the kitchen. All of a sudden he sensed a very powerful smell as if hay had been pushed up right under his nose. The rabbit hutch is filled with hay, and Ken believes that this smell had been caused by the spirit of his dead pet. On another occasion, Ken was kneeling down on the floor to reach for something, and he felt a nudge against his thigh. Similarly to this incident, Ken was again kneeling on the floor looking for something he had lost and he felt something cold touch him on the hand. Early one morning Ken woke to find he could not move at all. He was lying on his side in bed. The more he has tried to move, the more paralysed he became. Ken knows of sleep paralysis, but is convinced that it couldn’t have been this as he felt consciously fully awake. It felt as though an invisible force was holding him down. He then felt a gust of air blowing up and down his back. Ken believed it was a spirit of some kind, so began speaking out loud telling it to go away. After a while the paralysis died away and he felt he could move again. He rolled over but there was nothing which could have explained the incident. Although this incident can probably be explained by sleep paralysis, we should note that paralysis is a very common factor experienced by contactees. A few years ago, Ken’s computer used to be set up in the back bedroom. One evening he was using the internet when he suddenly heard his daughter clearly shout “Dad!” three times in a row. Ken assumed she was calling him from outside of the house. He looked out of the bedroom window but couldn’t see her. He went round and knocked on her front door. When she answered, Ken asked her if she had called him and she denied doing so. Another time, Ken was round his daughter’s house doing some decorating work. He had to go and fetch something from his own house. When he went back round again, his daughter asked what he wanted. Ken replied that he didn’t want anything, and she informed him that she had just heard him shout for her from downstairs. Ken’s daughter believes that her property is haunted, and has experienced poltergeist-like activity a number of times. Once she was in the lounge on her sofa. She got up and went into the kitchen, and the sofa shifted across the room of its own accord up against the door, blocking her way back into the lounge! Another time a TV remote control flew right across the room off a chair. This incident was witnessed by her and her boyfriend. When Ken started suffering from depression, brought on he believes by the healing work he had been doing, he would also suffer from occasional panic attacks during the night. During one of these attacks, he suddenly sat up in bed and was telling his wife that he couldn’t breathe. She calmed him down and got him to lie back down again. When he did so, a serene sense of relaxation came over him. Suddenly his wife exclaimed out loud “Oh my god! You aren’t going to believe this!” Ken asked her what had happened and she informed him that she had seen a large purple coloured light move up and down his body, shrink down to an orb about the size of a football, sweep around him once more then fly upward and vanish into the ceiling! Ken was amazed at what she told him, but from that date onwards he began to slowly get better. Ken’s father passed away a number of years ago. One day he and his wife were in the kitchen when she suddenly looked really shocked. When Ken asked her what was wrong, she informed him that for a brief moment when she looked at him, she saw his father’s face superimposed over his own face. His father looked quite different to Ken so they believed this was more than just a trick of the light or optical illusion. One night, Ken awoke in the middle of the night. He was about to get up to use the toilet, when he heard a voice say to him “Go back to sleep”. The next thing he knew it was morning. He jumped up out of bed and wondered why he had dropped back off immediately after hearing the voice. The following night, Ken’s wife woke up in the early hours of the morning and heard a voice say to her “Look at me”. She felt there was a presence in the room and asked it to go away, but the voice replied “No, look at me”. She looked around the room but could see nothing out of the ordinary. Ken’s wife has also seen a black shadow-like apparition move past the open bedroom door. These incidents could have been simply dreamed, but it is very interesting that the voices were heard within a day of each other. Another evening, Ken’s daughter and her new boyfriend has come round for a meal. Ken’s wife was in the kitchen, while everyone else sat in the lounge. All of a sudden, Ken smelt a sweet orange smell. He asked his wife if she had just cut an orange open, and she confirmed that she hadn’t. Ken got up and went into the kitchen but could then no longer smell the scent. He walked back into the lounge and managed to track down the source of the smell to a painting of the Virgin Mary hanging on the wall. Soon afterwards the smell died down and completely went away. In mid-December 2009 Ken was sitting in the lounge on his own, when suddenly there was a loud knocking sound coming from the room above through the ceiling. The noise sounded like someone banging their fist on the floor a number of times. Conclusion As you can see, Ken and his family have experienced a lot of bizarre activity as well as a number of UFO sightings, some of which have been quite impressive and clearly out of the ordinary. Ken seems a very honest man and I believe he is telling the truth about what has taken place over the years. I have not met his wife but briefly spoke with his daughter. Ken is not aware of any incidents where he may have experienced direct interaction with a UFO or its occupants. As far as he is aware he has never had any missing time he could not account for. However the fact that he saw Grey beings and a saucer craft when put under hypnosis is very interesting indeed. Out of all the incidents that Ken has mentioned, this one is the most intriguing to me. It goes without saying that when people are regressed, they do not normally see alien beings or flying saucers. These visions tend to suggest that Ken may have experienced contact at some point in his life. Perhaps they are his subconscious mind revealing details of incidents which have taken place, but which he is not consciously aware of. As described throughout this report, many of the other things which Ken has experienced have been described by contactees. His apparent healing and precognitive abilities are interesting – could these abilities have been gained through unknown contact? Of course there are many opinions both for and against psychic healing and premonitions. This is not my area of expertise, I do not really know enough about these abilities to discuss them in much depth. I am sure some would argue that they are a completely separate subject to ufology all together. But there does appear to be a direct link between these abilities and extraterrestrial contact. If you are interested in reading more about this link, I suggest you purchase Mary Rodwell’s book Awakening. Contactees also often report experiencing paranormal activity of various types, including unexplained sounds, voices, smells, electrical disturbance, orbs and apparitions. However many of the things that Ken and his family have experienced could well have a completely different explanation, such as ghosts/poltergeists, and could be nothing to do with ET contact. The incident where Ken was paralysed is interesting, however this was perhaps merely sleep paralysis. The family have experienced quite a few UFO sightings, but none of these UFOs have appeared to interact with them directly. Some of the sightings were probably nothing more than Chinese lanterns, however others such as the clear diamond-shaped object, and glowing white rugby ball shaped UFO are much more intriguing. Perhaps in the future, other incidents will take place which will prove beyond reasonable doubt that Ken, and perhaps his family, are contactees. But for now this remains a very interesting case with many different aspects to it. Ken has informed me that he will get in touch if there are any further experiences, so this report will more than likely be updated. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2010

  • 30/12/2008 - Selly Oak - Orange Orbs Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 08/01/2009 In the early hours of 30th December 2008, Steve Reece went to the front door of his house on Kitchener Road, Selly Oak, for a cigarette. It was approximately 12.15am and a cloudy but still night. It was very peaceful outside and nobody else was around. Map of sighting location: 📷 Looking into the sky above the row of houses on the opposite side of the road, he noticed a redish-orange glowing light in the sky. It was moving slowly in a North Western direction towards him. He estimated the light was 200-300 foot high underneath the clouds. At first he thought it was either an aeroplane or police helicopter. However he is an aircraft enthusiast, and soon realised it couldn’t possibly be either of these. He ran inside to first get his glasses, and then went back inside a second time to get his mobile phone. Back on the doorstep he attempted to take a photograph of the object but it was obscured by the nearby street light. About half a minute later a second identical object appeared, following the first on precisely the same path. The two glowing lights approached, getting more intense all the time due to their proximity. He noticed that they were completely silent, but could make out no solid objects behind the lights. As they got close to his road, their course deviated slightly but continued across the sky in front of him. The first light then faded out, and once the second had reached the location where the first had been it too vanished without trace. About 30 seconds later he saw two other lights moving together close to where he had first sighted the initial ones. They were heading on a different trajectory to the others in a western direction, and were also moving a bit faster. They appeared to be lower down in the sky, one above and slightly ahead of the other one. As they approached he lost sight of one of the lights behind the housing due to it’s lower height. The other was still visible and moved across the sky above the houses and then faded out as the other two had. He assumed the same thing had happened to the lower light also. View from sighting location in direction objects came from: 📷 Witness sketch showing paths of objects: 📷 Once the lights had faded he continued to listen for any sounds but there was nothing. Due to his interest in aircraft, Steve is on the mailing list of the local airport. However the airport reported no unusual activity that night which would have accounted for the lights seen. It is possible that the lights seen were Chinese Lanterns drifting in the sky. They could have burned out near to his road which would account for how they vanished one by one. However there are numerous facts that point away from this theory. Steve mentioned that it was a very still night. It would have required quite a strong wind to blow the objects in very similar trajectories across the sky. Lanterns tend to drift more randomly, the lights the witness saw looked like they were powered and on a set course. Also lanterns tend to flicker but Steve insists that the lights he saw did not do this, they were very bright and intense. There are no reports of anyone lighting lanterns in the nearby area. Also nobody else has come forward claiming to have seen the objects, but this could be due to the time of night that they were observed. It is unlikely the lights were aircraft or helicopters due to their appearance and the fact they were completely silent. Also the lights would not have suddenly faded out, they would have remained visible. Radio controlled objects are also unlikely for the same reasons. Meteorites can of course be discounted because of the slow speed the objects were moving at, the fact they were on similar trajectories and also the objects deviated course before finally vanishing. Unless someone comes forward to claim responsibility for them, the true origin of the lights seen over Selly Oak towards the end of 2008 may well remain a mystery. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2009

  • 1977/78 - Hayes - White Orb Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 16/01/2009 In some UFO cases, many of the aspects of the sighting can be easily explained away, but the unusual movement patterns performed by the object can prove something unusual has been observed. This appears to be so with this particular incident. It took place in the late 1970s, the witness I spoke to, Dave Lee, thought it must have been in the latter half of 1977-78 when he was 9-10 years old. Back then he used to live in Hayes, Middlesex. It was around 6-8pm in the evening and he had gone out skateboarding with his brother and a friend around his local neighbourhood. The evening was clear, and due to the time of year it was already dark with the stars and moon clearly visible. The boys were chatting on the corner of Balmoral Drive. One of them looked up into the night sky and saw what looked like a bright white ball of light travelling across the sky (Dave cannot remember who first sighted the object). He quickly alerted the other two and all three could then see it. The ball of light looked like it was out in space not high up in the Earth’s atmosphere. It was travelling very fast in the direction of the moon. The boys watched in amazement as the object appeared to actually orbit the moon! Dave describes how it seemed to disappear behind the moon and then emerge from the other side. It then looked like it continued it’s course around the front of the moon before heading off in the direction it had come from and vanishing. The whole sighting only lasted for less than five seconds so this object must have been moving extremely fast. After the incident the boys mentioned it to people but they thought it must have just been their imagination. Both Dave and his brother still remember the incident and discuss it from time to time. Sighting location map: 📷 Many would say that the object sighted was either a meteorite or satellite. A moving white light travelling across the night sky could easily be interpreted as either of these two things. But how can its path around the moon be explained? If it really did orbit the moon, then the object must have been huge in size to have been spotted from the Earth. Dave wonders if someone else may have also seen the incident. I searched for any old newspaper articles describing the event but could not find anything about it. Could it have been a meteorite entering the Earth’s atmosphere, and the rotation of the moon simply an optical illusion of some kind? This is a possibility certainly. Also the witnesses were quite young, could the incident have appeared more spectacular and unusual to what in fact actually took place? It is unlikely we will ever know for sure as the sighting took place so long ago, but it remains an interesting case. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2009

  • 07/08/2004 - Rowley Regis - Black Cigar UFO Video

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 21/01/2009 Sighting Details The witness in this particular sighting lives on the Rowley Hills near to Turners Hill, Rowley Regis. On Saturday 7th August 2004, he was sitting in his armchair, with a South Easterly view out of his window towards the Causeway Green, Langley. Due to the elevation of his house, the witness has a clear panoramic view of the surrounding area. It was a clear summer’s day and approximately 3 o’clock in the afternoon. The witness suddenly noticed an unusual object hovering in the sky over Banford Hill Park less than two miles from his position. Map of sighting location: 📷 He got his binoculars for a clearer view, and could make out what looked like a dark rod-shaped object at a 45 degree angle. He rushed to get his analogue camcorder and began to film the object. As he watched, its angle changed to vertical and then diagonal in the opposite way to how it had started out. He then noticed a small white object approaching from the North. It appeared to approach the object but then pass by underneath it and continue on a steady course until it was no longer visible. While this was happening, the dark object started to move slowly towards the East towards Birmingham. It was no longer situated above the park but was instead above some a nearby residential area. It also moved back to a diagonal angle in the sky. A black helicopter then came into view from the South. At first the witness thought it was flying directly towards the object, but it proceeded to pass above the object and continue on its way. The witness felt that the helicopter pilot must have surely seen the object due to his proximity to it and the clear visibility. The witness filmed the object for just under 4 minutes. Looking back, he wishes that he had thought to set up a tripod so that the footage would be more stable. After stopping filming, he continued to watch the object for several more minutes as it continued to move to the East until it was no longer visible. At the time he felt that the object could not have been a balloon or kite of some kind due to the fact that it did not stay in place above the park, and because of the apparent size in relation to the helicopter. Video Footage Stills Object as it appears on the footage: 📷 Close up of object: 📷 White object passing by: 📷 Helicopter passing by object: 📷 Explanation After looking at the available evidence, I feel that the object is probably a Solar Airship or other long inflatable of some kind that has become un-tethered. The object is not close enough to say which of these is more probable. Even though Solar Airships are relatively modern, it is highly likely that they were already available back in 2004. They are large black cylinder-shaped balloons that are filled with air. When this air is heated up by the sun’s rays they float up into the sky. They are quite large in size, and are usually tethered like a kite. Below is a photograph of an 8 metre long Solar Airship available from Argos: 📷 It is possible that someone was flying one of these at the park or somewhere else nearby, and it broke free from its tether. From the video footage it certainly looks like the object is freely drifting and rotating in the air. It does not perform many movements which would suggest it was under intelligent control. As the helicopter approaches, the object does seem to angle itself towards it, but this could quite easily be pure coincidence. I put forward this suggestion to the witness and he also feels that this is a possible explanation for what was observed. I and the witness both wonder if the helicopter pilot noticed the object. If so, maybe he identified it as a Solar Airship or inflatable, and this is why he did not change his course. We appear to have an adequate explanation for what the dark object could have been, but what could explain the small white object? After viewing the footage, I believe that this was actually a plane flying across the sky in the distance, and was much further away to the witness than the dark object was. Unless we receive any more evidence to the contrary, I believe that the object seen was a Solar Airship or other similarly shaped inflatable. Due to the time of day, clear weather conditions and appearance, it is certainly possible that there were other witnesses who have yet to come forward. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2009

  • March 2007 to December 2008 - West Midlands Police - Various UFO Sightings

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 25/01/2009 For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used Introduction When UFOs are reported by people with good credentials it lends a lot of weight to their statements. Many would put police officers into this category. Due to the nature of their job, they are often adept at describing things they are seeing. There is also less chance of misidentification taking place, as they will often need to report to others about what they have witnessed. On 20th November 2008 I was privileged to meet up with two police officers from Birmingham who have had numerous sightings since early 2007, including a mass of incidents since mid-October. Some of these sightings have been photographed/videoed and some have other witnesses also present. Most took place while the officers were out on night duty. I met Martin and Sandra at a location in Tamworth to discuss what they have witnessed in depth. This report will cover each of these sightings separately. March 2007 Rome Sighting While most of the incidents took place in the Birmingham area, the first significant sighting that the couple had together took place on the 31st March 2007 while they were on holiday in Rome. It was a clear sunny day with some light cloud cover. At 6.30pm the witnesses were out walking the streets of Rome after a day of sightseeing. They were around the area of the coliseum, and were crossing a small open grassy area between the rows of buildings. Dusk had just started to set in but it was still quite bright in the sky. As they walked, Sandra looked into the distance over the buildings. She could see a light grey oval shaped “cloud” in the sky. It was moving slowly to the left along with the other clouds, but stood out as it looked slightly darker and more rounded. It looked about 30000 ft up, the same sort of height as an aeroplane would fly. It was hard to judge how far away it was from them but it appeared to be at least a couple of miles away. Due to the distance, the witnesses estimate that it must have been much larger than a plane. Sandra watched it for several seconds. Suddenly it changed direction and started to move back to the right, in direct contradiction to the other clouds! She realised at this point that whatever she was looking at was not a cloud but something else entirely. As she watched, the object changed shape to resemble a tornado. It appeared to be spinning and was waving left and right in the sky. By this point she had stopped and was staring at it, this is where Martin’s attention was drawn to it. Less than a minute later it changed its shape again and became almost spherical. It also became a bit darker (as if becoming more solid) and became stationary in the sky. Sandra decided at this point to get her mobile phone out and start videoing the object. Sadly the footage didn’t pick up the object too well due to its distance. While watching the object, it began to fade in and out. The witnesses couldn’t tell whether this was due to it moving further and closer or if it was becoming more and less solid in nature. It did this for about 30 seconds, then without warning split into two separate smaller circular shaped objects. These began to move around each other, darting about the sky in curved patterns. Martin noted at this point that the objects certainly seemed controlled in some way. 30-40 seconds later the objects moved together and formed one object again! After this it once more split into two and then became whole a second time, then it started to fade away from their sight until it had vanished. Other people in the area at the time didn’t seem to have noticed the object at all; however the witnesses speculate that maybe somewhere else in the city others may have seen it from different angles. Afterwards, the witnesses talked about what they had seen a lot and were fascinated by it. It was the first UFO that Martin had seen in his life, so he was excited to discuss it with Sandra and his family. To this day they have no explanation as to what it could have been. Due to its appearance, there is the possibility that it was some sort of atmospheric phenomenon. However the movements and shape changing that the object performed seem far too unusual for this explanation. Whatever it was, it managed to both stop still in the air and go against the wind direction. And the darting manoeuvres that the smaller spherical shaped objects performed seemed far from natural. The fact that it formed numerous different shapes makes it improbable that it was some sort of floating object such as a balloon. It looked almost as if it was trying to communicate in some way. The witnesses have never seen anything like it since, and it remains a mystery. Witness drawing showing different shapes that the object formed: 📷 June 2007 Tamworth Sighting This incident took place on a hot clear summer’s day. It was about 1.00pm in the afternoon and the witnesses were off duty and out driving in their own car. They were in Tamworth town centre and just approaching Tamworth snow dome. There are two islands close to the snow dome, and it is between these that the sighting took place. As they went round the first island, Sandra suddenly noticed two objects in the sky off to their left out of the passenger seat window. There were two metallic grey cigar shaped objects, one positioned above and to the right of the other. They were smooth and had no visible markings on them. They were quite low in the sky and seemed to be quite large; the witnesses felt they were about the size of a standard airliner. The objects were stationary in the sky and about ½-1 mile away from them. Initially Martin couldn’t see them as he was driving. They continued up the road towards the second island, and as they approached Martin also got a look at the objects. They then also spotted a 3rd object which looked the same off to their right. It was the same height in the sky as the others. They began to head round the 2nd island and suddenly the objects had all completely vanished. The witnesses didn’t see them disappear, they just looked and couldn’t see them any more. From start to finish the whole sighting only lasted around 10 seconds. Nobody else appeared to have seen the objects, but it’s possible other drivers could have seen them without stopping just as Martin and Sandra did. This sighting is once again very interesting and hard to explain. The appearance of the objects obviously rules out most explanations. But could the three objects have been some sort of balloons that were released into the sky? Maybe they were drifting so slowly that they appeared stationary to the witnesses. However if this were the case, how did they all vanish at the same time? Surely as it was a clear day they would have been visible until they drifted into the distance or to the ground. Also the objects seemed much too large to be balloons. The objects were clearly present in the sky and not an optical illusion of some kind, as both witnesses saw them from different viewing positions and at various points along the road. It is quite probable that there were other witnesses to these objects but so far none have come forward. Witness drawing showing the first two objects seen: 📷 Sighting location map: 📷 August 2007 Kingstanding Sighting This incident was witnessed in total by six people. It was towards the end of August about 11pm at night. Both Martin and Sandra were out on duty in the Kingstanding area in separate vehicles. Martin, a colleague and two paramedics had been called out to force entry onto a house where an elderly person had fallen over. They had just finished up and Martin was on the doorstep of the property talking to the paramedics. It was a clear still night and the stars were out. To their right they suddenly noticed what looked like a bright orange orb of light in the sky. Martin estimates it was about 200 foot up and was less than a mile away from them. It was moving a bit faster than an aeroplane. The size of the object was hard to judge, it seemed about as big as a small aircraft. At first due to its brightness the witnesses thought it was a plane in trouble with an engine fire. Everyone stared at the object and watched as it moved across the sky in front of them. It seemed to be moving in on a circular path heading away from them, so by the time it was to their left it was quite a bit further than it had been when they first spotted it. Eventually they lost sight of the object, which they attributed to the distance. It had taken a couple of minutes to make this manoeuvre. Martin got on the radio to Sandra to tell her about what they had seen and asked her to get across to the area in case it was still around. She was on patrol elsewhere and took several minutes to arrive. Just before she and another officer turned up, the object reappeared in almost exactly the same position it had been in when they first saw it! Sandra parked up in an adjoining road just round the corner from where Martin and the other witnesses were. She and her colleague could now see the object too. Sketch by Sandra showing the area, her position, and the object: 📷 Everyone watched as it performed exactly the same movement across the sky a second time. Sandra’s colleague took a photograph of it on their mobile phone. The object once again vanished from sight after a couple of minutes. The witnesses waited but this time it did not reappear. They were all a bit shocked by what they had seen, and nobody could offer any rational explanation. Sighting location map: 📷 Sketch by Sandra showing location she and her colleague stood, the object and the direction it was moving in: The number of credible witnesses to this incident as well as the photographic evidence show beyond all doubt that it occurred. The question is, what on earth could the object have been? Martin says the most confusing thing about it was the fact that it seemingly returned and performed exactly the same movement pattern a second time. If it was some kind of lit balloon or lantern it is highly unlikely to have done this. In sightings where orange orb shaped objects are reported, often the cause will turn out to be lanterns, however these tend to drift randomly not fly on a direct path, especially not twice in a row. The witnesses did not see the object reappear so it was not necessarily the same object, it could have been a second similar one. If it was the one object it may have travelled round in a loop to appear back at its starting point. Most other explanations can be discredited due to the movement patterns. Meteors would not reappear and perform the same movement twice in a row; neither would they fly in an arc across the sky. It is unlikely to see earth lights appear over a city, and once again the repetition of the object’s movement path means this is improbable. The photograph taken by Sandra’s colleague is interesting. Below is the original photograph, and a close up enhancement of the object: 📷 📷 The most unusual thing about it is that it captured a different shape to what the officers saw at the time. To them it looked like a clear round orange orb of light. However on the photograph it appears to be a roughly rounded shape with a long “tail” hanging coming down from underneath it. The photo was not prolonged exposure so it is not caused by the objects movement. It is possible it is some sort of light reflection caused by the brightness of the object. Or has it captured the true shape of the object? Sadly no more details can be seen in the photograph giving clues as to what it may have been. Night-time location photograph: 📷 May 2008 Sutton Sighting When this bizarre sighting took place, Martin and Sandra were in the same police car on night duty. It was the 1st of May about 11.30-12pm, and a clear night with the stars visible in the sky. They were travelling along Chester Road North. The day time traffic had died right down and the road was quiet. On the approach to a large island, both the witnesses suddenly saw a very unusual object in the sky out of the front window. It was a glowing light blue coloured tear drop shaped object. They described it as the shape of a comet but it seemed like a solid object not something with a trail behind it. The object looked about 200 foot up and was within a mile of them. It was moving very slowly in a diagonal path towards the ground. They watched it for about 5 seconds. Then the object suddenly came to a halt in the sky and retained its shape. A couple of seconds later it started to flicker in brightness, similar to a candle. Then a small spherical object seemed to come from out of the front of the big object. It was the same colour so could have been a part of it breaking away, it was hard to tell. Suddenly both objects vanished without trace. The witnesses were completely baffled by what they had seen, and discussed it as they continued their night shift. In regards to this sighting, the obvious alternative explanation that comes to mind is that the object was some sort of falling debris/meteor burning up in the atmosphere. However there are numerous things that do not fit this hypothesis. The object looked like a solid structure that was glowing rather than something on fire. Also it was moving much too slowly to be a shooting star, and also seemed to halt for several seconds, which means it can’t have been this. Could it have possibly been an unusual firework of some kind? Or even something exploding and falling to the ground? Due to the movement patterns and shape of the object these explanations also hold little weight. Also if something did explode in the sky over Birmingham it would probably have been reported in the media. Sandra informed me that her friend told her about a similar object he had seen previously at Newell Estate in Sutton Coldfield, but that whatever he had seen actually came right down to the ground. I have asked Sandra to pass on my details so we may be able to get more information regarding this case soon. Witness drawing of object/objects seen: 📷 Sighting location map: 📷 Night-time location photograph: 📷 June 2008 Birmingham Incidents The unusual series of incidents that took place in the early hours of June 11th 2008 covered numerous areas of the Birmingham area. It is not known whether or not all these incidents were related, however there seemed to be too much going on for it to be coincidence alone. To this day it has never been adequately explained. Martin and Sandra were out on night duty with a third officer in the Great Barr area. They had a radio call asking them to investigate an alarm at David Lloyd Sports Centre that was going off. They arrived at the centre around 1am in the morning. It was a clear night with very little cloud cover and the stars out. They parked up the car outside the gate and got out, but soon found that they could not get past the locked entrance gate. As they waited and talked, Sandra looked up into the night sky and saw a white light, similar to a star but brighter. It was moving quite fast across the sky, far too quickly to be a plane. It looked like it was very high up, about 35000 foot, and was pulsating very slowly. They watched it for about 8 seconds until it disappeared into the distance. Seconds later Sandra saw a stationary white light appear, then vanish and reappear a short distance away from where it had first been. This light was stationary at first, then it began to slowly move away from them, pulsating in the same way that the other object had done. A few seconds later Martin looked to the left and saw what must have been a shooting star speed across the sky. But then moments later a second shooting star took exactly the same path as the first had. The witnesses were puzzled by this – it seemed very odd that two would do exactly the same thing in quick succession. Just after the shooting stars had occurred, they were radioed and informed that there had been a massive power cut in the areas of Kingstanding and Sutton. Soon afterwards, numerous residents called in from completely different areas all reporting the same thing – their house alarm was going off and they could see a shadowy figure or figures moving round outside of their houses. They could never give a good description, just that there was something moving around. Various officers including Martin and Sandra were sent out to investigate these reports, but were never able to find any explanation behind them. One officer was ordered to return multiple times to the same property – he checked it out and there was no-one there, but then minutes later the resident called back to say there was movement outside again. It felt really bizarre that at least five people from different areas of Birmingham would individually report the same thing at the same time. Martin and Sandra were called out to an estate in Erdington. When they arrived the power was still on. As they were chatting to a young man about the reported incidents, suddenly everything went dark and alarms started going off. Moments later they heard what sounded like a massive explosion coming from somewhere nearby! They received a radio call which informed them that it could possibly be the sub-station in Edmonton Avenue, Kingstanding, and that they should drive over to investigate. They arrived at the sub-station and could see nothing wrong. Suddenly there were what sounded like several underground explosions on Finchley Road, about 500 yards from where the sub-station was situated. The witnesses watched a manhole cover get blasted right into the air! Nobody seemed to have an explanation as to what was going on. They felt that they were not in control and everything felt very eerie. After this, things seemed to settle back down. In the morning they heard that the electricity board had said there had been nine incidents in the local area. This was very unusual indeed – apparently there would usually only be one or two incidents a night. Shortly after they were off duty, Martin and Sandra decided to E-Mail BUFOG to let us know what happened. However half way through it the computer randomly shut itself down. Ever since that night they have had unusual things going on in their house – computer and internet issues, the phone making automatic calls to people, a pane of glass shattering by itself. The witnesses believe that these events are somehow linked to what they experienced, or that they are being monitored by someone. Was what was experienced a series of completely unrelated incidents? Or were they all connected in some way? Could the lights that Martin and Sandra saw in the sky somehow have been responsible for what was to follow? And if they were, for what purpose? Could the lights seen have just been satellites, space debris or other atmospheric phenomena? This is certainly a possibility with the first object which just moved across the sky, but what of the lights which appeared and disappeared? As for the shooting stars, it could have been coincidence that both occurred in quick succession in the same place. Or perhaps they were not shooting stars at all, but something else entirely - it is impossible to say either way. I contacted the electricity board for Birmingham, Central Networks. They confirmed that they received complaints reporting power failures in the areas of Kingstanding and Sutton, however said they had none on record from Erdington. This does not necessarily mean that there wasn’t one, it just means nobody rang the company to complain about it. They also confirmed that at 12.35am on Finchley Road a faulty cable sparked. This must have been what was witnessed, although the contact at Central Networks was confused as to how this could have looked or sounded like explosions in any way. Perhaps the pressure built up due to the heat, which caused the manhole cover to lift. Despite having them on record, the person I spoke with could not give me any possible causes for the power cuts, she was just able to confirm that they did take place. Was all that was witnessed that night signs of an event taking place across the Birmingham area? Or were they completely unconnected and just pure coincidence? If something strange was at work, was information held back from both the police officers involved, and the public at large? To this day, the witnesses involved ask themselves these questions and hope that at some point they will be answered. October – December 2008 Birmingham Sightings Since October 16th Martin and Sandra have experienced a wave of sightings of UFOs. They estimate that they have had around thirteen sightings of strange objects in the sky. Many but not all of these have been similar in shape and form. They are confused as to why this is happening, but feel that part of the reason is that they are now more aware of their presence so are more likely to keep an eye out for them. The sightings began late in the evening of October 16th 2008. Sandra’s dad rang her to say that he could see something unusual in the sky over the centre of Birmingham from his back garden in Kingstanding. She and Martin drove over to his house to take a look for themselves. When her dad first pointed the object out it looked like nothing more than a bright star low down in the sky. However he then told them to check its position in relation to a fixed point. When they did this they could see that the object was moving very slowly to the west. The rest of the sky remained stationary so it was not just due to the rotation of the earth. They then had a look through the binoculars at the object. Every time Martin checked the object looked different. At first it appeared as blue, white and red lights stacked on top of each other. Then it the lights had shifted to a different layout. Then it looked like two white lights with some sort of black band between them. They were convinced that what they were looking at was not a plane taking off, or a helicopter - as they are in the police force they would easily be able to recognise this. They felt that they were looking at an unknown craft of some kind. After a while the object vanished, they assume it went out of sight due to the distance. Since the sighting on October 16th they have had at least 11 more sightings of unusual objects. Many of these times the object seen has been very similar to the first time. On 28th of October while on night duty at Rectory Road, Sutton Coldfield, the witnesses saw a stationary blue light in the sky. As they watched, a smaller red light appeared to one side of it. Then they saw two separate bright white lights which moved across the sky descending in a wavy pattern. What sort of aircraft would be responsible for the lighting patterns and movement witnessed? Witness drawing of objects seen on 28th Oct and their movement patterns: 📷 In another sighting on November 12th Sandra was on her way home after finishing work. She saw two glowing white lights hovering in the sky out of the car window. One seemed brighter than the other. She got on the phone to her dad, who informed her that he was observing an object too. Just then the dimmer of the two objects Sandra was looking at vanished, and at precisely the same moment her dad informed her that a second one had appeared where he was watching. It was almost as if one of the objects had teleported and reappeared elsewhere. On 17th November once again out on night shift, the witnesses were travelling along Gravelley Lane in Erdington. In front of them they suddenly noticed two bright white glowing objects travelling slowly across the sky. Sandra took a photograph on her mobile phone through the front windscreen of the car. However later when they checked the photograph they found that one of the objects had appeared as a long curved line and the other object to the lower right of the first was barely visible. This was more than likely caused by either the movement of the vehicle or reflection through the glass. Below is the original photograph, and a close up of the upper object: 📷 📷 In the early hours of 19th November. Martin was on night duty in Bolomere. He was in his car travelling along Jockey Road when he spotted an orange orb of light in the sky off to the right. As he drove along the road the object flew across the road in a curved path till it was over to the left of his vision. At this moment he could see it had a red “tail” structure sticking out from behind it. Seconds later it disappeared. Martin was certain that it was not any conventional aircraft. The object seemed too slow for a meteorite and was also on a curved trajectory. Its unusual shape suggests it was not a lantern or balloon of some kind. Witness drawing of object seen on 19th Nov and its movement path: 📷 Night-time location photograph: 📷 The most recent incident prior to this report being written took place outside their home in Tamworth on 1st December. It was a dry and clear night with minimal cloud, and very little light pollution from street lights. They spotted the first object in the sky at around 11.30pm. It appeared as a bright orb of light that appeared to be pulsing/flashing. The light was mostly white in colour but occasionally other colours were visible in it. The object was moving very slowly from the left to the right of their viewpoint, and seemed to be very far away from them. They stood outside the front of their house watching it. Around 15 minutes later, a solid orange orb of light passed directly over their heads heading in the direction of Polesworth. The witnesses estimate this was travelling around 300 mph and was 2000-3000 foot above them. Around two minutes later, another orange orb appeared. This one was brighter than thefirst had been and was slowly pulsating every couple of seconds. Rather than travel on the same path, this second orb travelled towards the initial white light. It suddenly came to a halt a short distance away from it and remained stationary for around 30 seconds. It almost looked like the two objects were communicating with one another in some way. Then the orange orb moved off towards Polesworth and shortly after it disappeared. The white light remained visible, and continued on it’s slow path across the sky. Martin decided to try and take some footage of it on his mobile phone but sadly it didn’t come out as the object was too far away. In total they observed the initial object for about half an hour, by which time it had moved across the sky in front of them. During this time they spotted numerous other normal aircraft, which did not seem to be reacting at all to the presence of the objects. Both Martin and Sandra feel sure that the objects were something unorthodox. As I previously stated, due to the witnesses background they are fully familiar with what helicopters and other local aircraft look like. These sightings are occurring with such regularity that Martin and Sandra are no longer surprised when they see them. It seems inconceivable that all of these sightings could be put down to misidentification or have mundane explanations. They are convinced that what they are observing are unusual craft of some kind that perform controlled movements. They speculate that all these sightings are occurring for a reason and that it is building up to some sort of major event. It seems amazing that they have had so many sightings; it is almost as if they are being shown them on purpose for some reason. The witnesses are both completely sincere about what they have seen and I am certain that the incidents covered in this report took place. It is highly likely that Martin and Sandra will have more unexplained sightings in the future, as always I will keep you informed. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2009

  • 30/01/2009 - Quinton - Orange Orb Sighting (BUFOG Founder)

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 11/02/2009 Sighting Details BUFOG’s own chairman Craig Lowe had an interesting UFO sighting while out driving in Quinton on the evening of 30th January 2009. While no physical craft shape could be seen, the movements the object performed as well as other aspects of the sighting seem to suggest it was something unusual. It was about 8.10pm, and was a clear evening. Due to the time of year it was of course completely dark. Craig was driving along Ridge Acre Road in Quinton towards Harbourne. He reached a junction and stopped at the lights. Looking around, he noticed a bright orange light in the sky above a nearby chip shop. 📷 It was to the South and appeared to be less than a mile from his position. Craig estimates it was between 800-1200 feet high. The light was travelling towards him at a speed of at least 300 mph. Craig then spotted an aeroplane coming from the west. It was heading towards the object but around 200 foot lower in the sky. He watched for several minutes as the plane approached the object. He had the window wound down and could hear the plane but could not hear any sound. The lights changed several times but there was no traffic behind him, so he continued to watch. As the plane got very close to the object’s position suddenly the orange light went off, but Craig could still make out a faint reddish glow from the object. It then moved up in the sky to a higher point as if to let the plane cross its flight path. Once it had past, the object moved back down again to the level of the plane and then not only increased in brightness again to how it had been before, but also appeared to actually increase in physical size. It then dramatically increased in speed to around 450 mph and flew off to the West. There were now cars behind him so he could not keep watching the object and was forced to continue his journey. Satellite view showing the path the object took: 📷 Sighting Diagrams 1: Object and aeroplane as they first appeared 📷 2: Object getting brighter/closer as plane approaches 📷 3: Object dims to a dull red colour 📷 4: Object increases in altitude as plane flies by underneath 📷 5: Object descends back down after plane has passed 📷 6: Object greatly increases in brightness/size 📷 7: Object moves off to the West 📷 Conclusion This is a fascinating sighting as what was observed does not seem to fit in with most alternative possibilities. The object could not have been an aeroplane as these do not have the capability to stop and instantly change course. It does not appear to have been a helicopter either as the object was silent. Also the lighting colours do not fit in with a conventional aircraft, and neither an aeroplane nor helicopter would be likely to change their lights in such a fashion. If the object really did increase in physical size rather than just flared up very bright then this of course means it was something very unusual indeed. Its movement patterns alone seem to show it was under intelligent control. Therefore, although we cannot identify the object at this point, we can safely say that it was out of the ordinary. Craig believes that other people on the ground, and also people in the plane may well have also seen the object. So far we have had no other reports come in which are related to this incident. • 13/02/2009 - Dudley - Black Circular UFO Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 13/02/2009 The witness in this particular sighting is named Ash, and at the time of the incident he was attending Dudley College. It was about 1pm on Friday 13th February 2009. Despite some recent snowfalls, the weather had brightened up and there was a blue sky with light cloud. Ash went outside for a cigarette with several friends. He was standing on Castle View Parade within the Dudley College campus. For some reason he looked up into the sky, and almost directly over them was what looked like a jet black circle shaped object. The object appeared to be giving off a white mist. Ash does not know whether or not this was some form of propulsion system, but he did state that it certainly looked like a solid object rather than unusual natural phenomenon. The object was moving slowly across the sky. Ash could not tell how big or how high up it was, he believes the object was quite large, about the size of a car. As far as he was aware it was completely silent. He pointed it out to his friends. They kept repeatedly looking up at the object as they had their cigarettes for several minutes. Then suddenly the object had completely vanished from sight. Ash had never seen anything like it before, and had no clue as to what it could have been. His friends were equally intrigued by it. 📷 This is quite an unusual sighting. The appearance of mist around the object is very interesting, and fits in with numerous other reported UFO sightings. If it was some sort of balloon or kite then the mist would likely have not been visible, so it tends to dismiss these possibilities. It was a clear day so it is unlikely the mist was created by rain or moisture hitting the object. As the witnesses did not see the object perform any controlled movements we cannot say for definite that it was not something drifting in the sky rather than a powered object. As it took place in the middle of the day, it is possible other people also spotted the object. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2009

  • Longbridge Contact Case - Greys Visitation, UFO Sighting, Body Marking

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 17/02/2009 In the summer of 2004, Darren Carey had an experience that would change his perception of UFOs forever. Later in the same year, he had a second experience where a number of small beings were seen in his bedroom. It is unknown whether these two events are linked, but it is certainly a possibility, as he has not experienced anything like them before or since. However, there are signs pointing towards ongoing abductions taking place against his knowledge. The incidents will be discussed separately in this report. June 2004 UFO Sighting In the summer of 2004, Darren was living in the village of Alvechurch with his wife. One evening in the later part of June, he visited his friend’s house in Longbridge for a catch up. He was driving back home around 11.30pm at night. It was a very warm, clear and still night, and he had the windows of his car down. He was just about to turn onto the Redditch Road when he noticed a bright white light in the field opposite. It was at the back of the field and around 70 foot in the air. It appeared to be stationary. He first assumed it must be a helicopter. He turned right onto the Redditch Road and began to drive along it. He was surprised to see that the light was also travelling in his direction at approximately the same speed, and maintaining the same distance from the road as when he had first sighted it. He kept glancing at the light and wondering what it was. He became more and more confused by it. Photograph of location where Darren first spotted the object: 📷 How the object looked at a distance: 📷 In the end he decided to pull in at a bus lay by. Looking to his left he could not see the object any more. He got out of the car and walked around to the front of it. He looked all around and was amazed to see that the object was right over his head. It was still around 70 feet up, and looked different to how it had appeared at a distance. He could see a clump of multicoloured lights. The lights were red, blue, green, white and maybe other colours. There was no discernable shape behind the lights but he was sure they were part of one solid object. Strangely, although it was a very clear night, the lights looked blurred / smudged. This could have been caused by the various colours merging into one another, or perhaps it was some sort of aura that the object was giving off. Whatever it was, the lights were not as clear as they should have been for the height the object was and the current weather conditions. Darren also noticed that the object was completely silent. He looked across to the nearby Hopwood Pub car park to see if anyone else was around and looking at it too but nobody was around due to the time of night and quietness of the pub. After about ten seconds of staring up at the object he felt very spooked by it, the hairs on his neck were standing up, and he wanted to get out of there. He got back in his car and drove away, immediately feeling a bit safer but still highly un-nerved by the object. Photograph of the bus lay by: 📷 How the object looked when it was overhead: 📷 He reached an island and turned right onto Birmingham Road. He thought the object had gone but looking to the right he was amazed to see that the object had crossed the road behind him and was now flying along to the right of him, again matching his speed. Like before, it now appeared as a bright white light, he could not see the other colours in it. At the next island he turned left and again the object changed its course to match, and continued along to the right of him. By this time he felt sure that the object was observing him. He was about to turn left at another island, but this time the object drew closer and passed right over the island in front of him. He turned and the object was now on the left still keeping the same pace as his car. He did not attempt to drive any faster to see if the object would keep up. As he continued along the road the object drifted to the right until it was directly in front of him in the sky. He reached Alvechurch and had to turn right. Rather than following him the object continued straight on and soon he had lost sight of it. Photograph of location just prior to where Darren lost sight of the object: 📷 Darren got home and woke his wife up to tell her about the object. He then stayed up for hours smoking and thinking about what he had just witnessed. He could find no rational explanation for what had occurred, and to this day feels that the object must have been an extraterrestrial craft of some kind. Sketch by witness showing journey he took and the path of the object: 📷 Map featuring route witness took: 📷 This is a fascinating sighting, and for various reasons most mundane explanations can be dismissed. The object could not have been a helicopter as when it was hovering right over his head he could hear no sound coming from it, if it was a helicopter the noise of the rotor blades would have definitely been heard, especially on such a still night. It cannot have been an aeroplane of course as these cannot come to a stand still in the sky. If it was a lit balloon/balloons of some kind then they would have drifted randomly across the sky, they would certainly have not moved at the speed the object was travelling at, and would not have followed the car. If it was some kind of radio controlled object then why would it have been flying in a field after dark, and why would it have followed Darren’s car for such a distance? The appearance and configuration of the lights do not fit in with any form of conventional aircraft; therefore we must assume it was something out of the ordinary. There have been many UFO sightings reporting similar objects and where craft have been seen to follow drivers for a distance. For example, one incident described by Ann Andrews in her book Abducted states the following: “It was a dark, wintry night, and the narrow Kent lanes were almost deserted. Jason, in the front passenger seat, suddenly plucked at Ann’s sleeve and wordlessly gestured at a large circle of white light to the left of the car, moving parallel to them as if keeping pace. Ann wanted to stop the car, but Jason urged her to carry on driving. The ‘star’ followed them every corner and bend of the way.” Darren feels that the object he saw was more likely extraterrestrial rather than a top secret military craft, as if it was why would they be flying it over fields in a well populated area, and besides this, why would they follow a random person in their car? It certainly doesn’t seem to add up, so this will remain a very intriguing case. October 2004 Beings Visitation Later in the same year, Darren had got divorced and was living in a house on Hoggs Lane, Longbridge. Since his sighting back in June there had been no further unusual incidents of any kind, although he still thought regularly about what he had seen. Map of incident location: 📷 On a Friday or Saturday night in early October, he awoke around 2-3am with the distinct feeling that something was not right and something was about to happen. He tried to move his head to look around his bedroom, but then found that he was completely paralyzed, and could only move his eyes. His whole body felt like it had “pins and needles”. He was of course extremely scared by this but could not even call out. Looking down to the base of the bed, he saw the door of his room swing open. Three to five small beings then walked into the bedroom. He was terrified and did not look up at their faces; he could just see their torsos and the tops of their legs (their lower legs were hidden below the height of the bed). The beings were each dressed in a dark grey rubber-like suit. There was something like a belt or box around the area of their waists but he could not see this too clearly. Judging from what he could see, he estimates the beings were about four foot high. They had a slender frame, and were clearly not human. He did not see their hands at any point, so it can be assumed that their arms were quite long. The beings walked round the base of his bed and lined up along side him really close. He was still paralyzed but even if he had been able to move, he says he was too frightened to want to. He does not know how long the beings stood there for, possibly a couple of minutes. To his knowledge, they did not interact with him in any way, just stood there very still next to the bed silently. After a time, the beings walked back out of his room. Layout of bedroom showing witness on bed, light switch, door and where the beings came from and moved to: 📷 Sketch showing Darren’s viewpoint of the beings coming into his room: 📷 Darren was of course very frightened by what had just occurred. He tried to move again and found he was still paralyzed. He lay there for a long while. During this time he is certain he did not go back off to sleep. After about 15-20 minutes he finally plucked up the courage to turn his bedroom light on (this was on a string so he did not need to get out of bed). When he tried to, he found that he could move again. He switched the light on but then continued to lie in bed. A short while later, he got out of bed and started looking around the house. He was highly disturbed by the incident and so checked the entire house thoroughly to make absolutely certain nothing was there. After finding nothing, he then stayed up for a long time smoking and drinking to calm himself down. The fact that many aspects of this incident fit in with other reported abductions makes it very interesting indeed. Darren is adamant that he was not dreaming and that the event actually took place. He has looked into sleep paralysis and is sure that it was not this and that he did not imagine the beings coming into his room. After the beings had left he is certain that he did not drop back off to sleep, he stayed awake and after a short time began to move and check round the house. This does tend to suggest that the event actually took place, although sleep paralysis cannot be completely ruled out as the cause. Prior to the incident Darren had not looked into alien abductions at all, so claims that he dreamt or made up the incident to match an experience of this nature are completely unfounded. So let’s look at what fits the picture, and why I believe this incident may well be genuine: - While the beings were in his room, he was completely paralyzed except for his eyes. This is very common indeed and occurs in most abduction cases. I believe that this occurs to stop the abductee from struggling against what is happening. - The beings were short like children rather than full sized adults. - They appeared to be of thin frame, and had extended arms. - They wore tight dark grey outfits with a rubber-like texture. This description often given by abductees. It is not known if an abduction occurred during the incident. Darren does not remember seeing anything else, and the beings did not appear to interact with him. To his knowledge he did not experience any missing time, although the incident did occur in the middle of the night, so if there was missing time he may well have not noticed. It is possible that it is linked to his UFO sighting from earlier in the year. Were the beings interested in him and checking up on him? Maybe they did not abduct him on this particular incident but have done so at other times. There is evidence to suggest this is the case, as you will see below. There may well be hidden memories surrounding either of the incidents Darren has experienced, but unless he decides to go for a regression we may never know for certain if anything else occurred. Unidentified Markings Oct 2004 - Present Ever since the incident in October 2004, Darren has had a red coloured diamond shaped marking that appears on the bridge of his nose every few months or so. It lasts for about a week before completely fading away, and does not hurt at all even when he applies pressure to it. When people ask him about the marking he jokes and says “that’s my alien thing”. But could this actually be the cause of it? Looking at Darren’s previous experiences it is certainly a possibility. Sketch by witness showing shape and position of marking: 📷 Is the reappearing mark a sign that since 2004 Darren has undergone repeated abductions which he cannot currently remember? The marking is definitely not caused by glasses rubbing on the bridge of his nose, as he rarely wears them. It does seem like too much of a coincidence that the red marking has appeared ever since the incident in October 2004, and never before this point. Many abductees report finding similar markings on various places of their bodies. Sometimes they remember the markings being caused by various instruments used upon them during their abduction. In some cases the markings are even signs of a possible implant. Unless Darren decides to go for an X-Ray we will not know if there is anything present or not. We do not currently have a photograph of the marking, but the next time it appears Darren has informed me that he will send me one, at which point it will be added to this report. • 27/01/2009 - Stetchford - Orange Orb Sighting

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 26/02/2009 Recently a contact of BUFOG informed us of a multiple witness sighting which occurred towards the end of January 2009 in Stechford. The sighting took place around 11pm on the 27th January. It was a clear and still night, with the stars and moon visible. The sister of a friend of our contact, and her friend (names undisclosed) were coming back from a local shop and were nearing home on Neston Grove when they first spotted the object. Looking to the North East they could see a reddish-orange sphere of light that appeared to be heading towards them. The object appeared to be quite high up and was apparently completely silent. Its exact size was hard to judge, but was much larger than a star in the sky. At first the object was stationary, but then it began to move slowly across the sky. As they walked they kept watching the object, and it appeared to follow them. They were amazed by what they were looking at, so immediately went to get our contact’s friend to tell him to come outside so he could also see the UFO. He was on the phone to our contact at the time, but ended the call so he could go and take a look. Map showing location of sighting: 📷 When our contacts friend saw the object it was heading west. It then suddenly stopped for several seconds, before moving away from them in a Northerly direction. They watched it until it had vanished from sight. In total the sighting lasted for approximately ten minutes, of which our contacts friend only saw the final seconds. Sadly no photos or video footage of the object was taken. Both the girls were distressed by the sighting as they felt that the object was watching them. None of the witnesses have any idea as to what the object could have been. Our contact showed his friend some videos of Chinese Lanterns, but he says this is not what they saw. This is one of the possible explanations I would give for such a sighting, the colour and shape both seem to fit this explanation. However, the fact that the object seemed to stop and start moving at will, and also dramatically change direction suggests it was not a lantern. These usually drift randomly, not perform seemingly intelligent manoeuvres. Perhaps the movement observed was due to changes in wind direction, we cannot rule out this possibility. If it wasn’t a lantern then what else could it have been? It could not have been a helicopter as the lighting colour was different, and also the witnesses would almost certainly have heard the rotor blades, especially as the sighting took place on a clear night. Neither was it an aeroplane, as of course these cannot stop or change direction so quickly. It could possibly have been some sort of radio controlled object, but this seems unlikely. Therefore, this sighting will continue to remain a mystery for now, one with numerous puzzling aspects. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2009

  • Aug 1996 to Jan 2009 - Erdington - Various UFO Sightings

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 05/03/2009 Over the years, witness Francis Mulholland has been lucky enough to see several UFOs, all in close proximity to his house on Ewell Road, Erdington. All three sightings have aspects that are hard to explain, making them very interesting cases. This report will cover each of these sightings in detail, as well as a fourth sighting by one of Francis’ friends. August 1996 Sighting The first time Francis witnessed something unexplained was in the summer of 1996. It was between 6.00-6.30pm, and a warm still evening with some cloud cover. Francis was in his bedroom watching TV. He happened to glance out of the window to the road outside. In the distance above the trees to the North East he noticed something unusual in the sky. The object appeared to be a highly reflective metallic silver sphere. It was hard to judge the size of it as it was quite far away, but he estimates it was around the size of a car. It was quite high up in the sky, about the height a plane would be. What was most striking about the object was not its appearance, but its movement patterns. It appeared to be continuously moving and changing direction, spinning around in circles and zigzagging. It was doing this at quite a speed (at least 200mph he believed), and never stopped moving even for a second. This movement was localised to an area, the object was not flying right across the skyline. Francis wondered what it could be, but most explanations didn’t seem to fit what he was looking at. After watching the object for several minutes, it suddenly began to slowly move in a straight path away from his location until he could no longer see it from the window. He ran to the front door of his house to see if he could still see it. When he looked, he could once more see the object, and it was once again performing all sorts of circling manoeuvres. He continued to watch it for several minutes before it disappeared into a cloud. He then waited for quite a while to see if it would reappear but he did not see it again. Map showing location of witness and possible location of object: 📷 Drawing by witness showing object and movement pattern: 📷 Night photograph of witness viewpoint from front drive: 📷 With this sighting, the movement performed by the object dismisses many explanations straight away. It was not an aeroplane or helicopter, as neither of these would be able to perform such high speed manoeuvres, nor would they have the reason to. It is unlikely a bird caught in the sunlight would have flown in this pattern too, and the witness clearly identified it as a metallic orb. A balloon of some kind would certainly have drifted slowly, not span and zigzagged in the sky. Francis is sure that it was under intelligent control. He does not believe it was a secret military craft as why would they be flying it over the middle of Birmingham in such unusual patterns? Unfortunately Francis does not have a camera so no photographic/video evidence could be taken. He did not see anyone else nearby and it is unknown whether there were others who also saw the object. At this present time we cannot come up with a suitable explanation for what was observed. 5th August 2007 Sighting The UFO in this sighting was witnessed by not only Francis, but also his father and brother-in-law. It was between 2-4pm on a warm summer’s afternoon. The sky was mostly blue with patchy cloud and it was quite still. The three witnesses had decided to visit the local Sports & Social Club for a drink. The club is on Holly Lane, within walking distance of Francis’ house. They were sitting outside at a picnic table in the beer garden. To the North of the club lies some playing fields, and beyond this housing. Map showing location of witnesses and possible location of object: 📷 Night photograph of the Sports & Social club: 📷 Francis was the first to spot the object. He looked up into the sky and saw an object hovering above the housing in the distance. The object resembled a dark grey triangular shape with rounded corners. It sat motionless in the sky. Francis could see no other details on the object at all. Judging from the distance, the object appeared to be extremely large in size, at least as big as a jumbo jet. He estimates it was hovering about 1000 foot up. As far as he could tell it was completely silent. He was fascinated, and having a belief in UFOs already, he was convinced that it was a craft of some kind, possibly one of the “Flying Triangles” that had been sighted many times before around the world. He sat and watched the object for a number of minutes before finally getting the attention of his father and brother-in-law. They then also saw the object, and neither could explain what it was they were looking at. Francis informed me that his father is sceptical of UFOs, but even he was suitably impressed by it. They watched it for a short while and as it was not moving, continued talking and checking back at it every couple of minutes. Suddenly when they looked back they found that the object had completely vanished from sight. Witness drawing of what the object looked like: 📷 This is an interesting sighting, and certainly seems to fit with the object being a Flying Triangle craft. The UFO was dark grey in colour, this is one of the colours most often reported in FT sightings. It appeared to be extremely large, rather than a smaller object closer in the sky. It is unlikely to have been a kite or balloon as these would almost certainly drift in the air, where as this object was completely motionless. Obviously this fact, combined with its description, suggests it wasn’t a conventional aircraft of any kind. Unfortunately the witnesses did not see the object depart, so no motion was observed at any point in the sighting. January 2009 Sighting Out of all the sightings, this is the most puzzling. It was between 10.00-11.00pm on a clear but very cold evening half way through January 2009. Francis was watching TV in the lounge and decided he would go outside to the garage in the back garden to get a drink. As he was half way across the garden, he looked around the sky at the stars. To the North West of his position he could see the backs of the houses on Allman Road. Above one of them in the sky he spotted a large glowing white light. At first he thought it was the moon with clouds passing in front of it, but then he realised it couldn’t possibly be. Firstly it was a clear night, but more importantly the moon was visible in the opposite direction in the sky! He turned back to look at the object. It looked like a large square shaped object with rounded edges. It was glowing white but had a darker band across the middle of it (which he had first thought was the cloud). Rather than being clearly edged, this band was blurred, he assumed this may be due to distortion from the white light coming from behind it. The object looked quite large and was visible over the rooftops; he felt it was not directly over them but further away. He was highly confused as to what he was observing. He became even more confused when he moved closer to the garage and the shape of the object seemed to alter, as if it was morphing in some way. He repeated this numerous times, but was clear that the object was present in the sky and not just an optical illusion of some kind. Witness drawing of what the object looked like: 📷 Map showing location of witness and rough location of object: 📷 He stood in the back garden for almost an hour, staring at the object. In the end he decided to head back inside as he was very cold. He kept checking back every ten or so minutes, and after a while when he checked the object was no longer visible. So what could have been the cause of this bizarre sighting? The object displayed some characteristics that suggest it was some kind of illusion/reflection. Could it have been a mirage of the moon caused by atmospheric conditions? Or was the apparent “morphing” of the object due to the brightness of the light emenating from it? If it wasn’t a solid object then what could explain its squared shape? This suggests that it was artificial rather than natural. The witness watched it for a long time; if it was an internally lit balloon of some kind surely it would have drifted rather than remained completely stationary? Obviously most other explanations can be disregarded due to the objects strange appearance. Whatever it was, it looked quite large, so it may well have been seen by other people from different angles that have yet to come forward. November 2008 Sighting One of Francis’ friends, Phil (name changed for privacy reasons), also had a UFO sighting in the local area. As he knew Francis is interested in the paranormal he informed him about the sighting. It took place in late November 2008. Phil was relaxing in his back garden on Marsh Lane, several roads to the north west of Ewell Road. It was late evening, and was a clear night with the stars visible. He looked into the sky and to his south east he saw a number of hovering lights. They were arranged in a diamond shaped configuration – two red lights with a green light to the left and to the right. He was immediately puzzled by the lights as not only were they completely stationary, but also the object appeared to be silent. He was close enough to the object to know that it was not a helicopter as he would have been able to hear the rotor blades. He assumed due to the configuration that he was looking at one object not a number of small objects. Phil stood and watched the lights for several minutes, but did not keep watching them so did not see the object depart. Drawing by Francis of what his friend described to him: 📷 When Francis told Phil about his January 2009 sighting, they worked out that Phil saw the lights at around the same location as Francis’ sighting took place. Was this purely coincidence or were the two sightings related? It is hard to tell much about what this object could have been as only lights were seen. It seems likely it was an aircraft of some kind – but what aircraft can hover silently in the air for a number of minutes? As with Francis’ various sightings, this incident currently remains a mystery. Copyright Dave Hodrien 2009
