- 16/06/2007 - Quinton, Birmingham - Oval/Triangular UFO Sighting
Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Craig Lowe Release Date: 16/06/2007 Approx 8.32pm I witnessed a strange object in the sky. I live in Birmingham. I have had an interest in military aircraft since the age of 14, now 32. I know the signature patterns of aircraft and helicopter strobes and flight dynamics so the identification of an aircraft I can make instantly. I have been an amateur astronomer for over 10 years and own my own 10" Newtonian telescope with observatory so even the faintest satelite or space anomaly I can identify. To put it short, my eyes are quite well trained and not as naive as the general public.I have had a keen interest for most of my life with Ufology and have read many if not most of the UFO literature. Timothy Good has received a copy of this email. I have read many case reports and sightings so I know what could be easily described as a UFO when a plain answer is available. That's a little about me so that you can see it would have to be something strange to catch my eye and completely baffle me. Heres my sighting. I was standing by my patio door having a cigarette and my wife had just gone in the bath, whilst smoking I noticed a black object in the sky approx 3 miles away (1 mile from Birmingham city centre) at first it could be confused with a hawk hovering at close range, but over a heavily populated area, I think not. I continued to watch the object as my mind was trying to match what I was seeing to an object I could relate to, I couldn't. The object was black, no lights no sound. It seemed to be oval shaped and on ocassions changed to a triangle shape. Visibilities was very good, clear sky with a few rain clouds to the horizon and a few brillant white clouds which were being illuminated by the sun. I watched for an estimated 1 min 30 secs before accepting that this could be a UFO. I have a 9 moth old daughter and just she was born we decided to purchase a digital hard drive camcorder. I decided to fetch this knowing more than likely when I return the object will have disapeared. I returned with the camera and noticed the object was still there, only now it was on the move. I powered up my camera and started to film the object. The digital display on the camera is approx 3 inches in size so I couldn't tell if i had the object in view or even in focus, but I continued to film. The object moved over the trees and towards the horizon and finally dissapeared behind a cloud. I stopped filming and took a few minutes to gather my thoughts on what I had just seen. My wife soon came down from the bath and I told her what I had witnessed. Copyright Craig Lowe 2007

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Craig Lowe Release Date: 26/07/2007 Daily Mail Article UFO sightings bring town to a stand still Last updated at 09:12am on 26th July 2007 A crowd of 100 stunned stargazers brought a town centre to a stand still when five mysterious UFOs were spotted hovering in the sky. Drinkers spilled out of pubs, motorists stopped to gawp and camera phones were aimed upwards as the five orbs, in a seeming formation, hovered above Stratford-Upon-Avon for half an hour. The unidentified flying objects lit up the otherwise clear night sky above Shakespeare's birthplace in Warwickshire on Saturday. 📷 Although Air Traffic Control reported no unusual activity, some witnesses were convinced they were witnessing an extra-terrestrial spectacle.Crowds gathered to gawp at the strange lights that hovered silently over Stratford for 30 minutesThe strange episode started just after 10.30pm, when the lights were seen hovering slowly over the town before three of them formed a triangular shape with one positioned just to the right.A few minutes later a fifth came into view travelling towards the others at breakneck speed before slowing down and stopping a short distance away. Sceptics dismissed the UFOs as nothing more than hot air balloons, fireworks or even lanterns which had broken loose from a local rugby club.Others, however, claimed the speed and agility of the objects was unlike any known aircraft and said the odd movement, lack of noise and the length of time in the air discounted any man-made explanation.Tom Hawkes, who captured these amazing images, spotted the lights during his girlfriend Kate Lyall's birthday at the One Elm pub.He and the 15 other revellers were in the bar when they spotted some commotion outside.Tom, 30, said: "We walked outside and there was at that time a growing crowd of about 60 people looking up at something in the sky. "I saw this light appear, then three others. They came over our heads in formation but then manouvered into different positions."Three had formed a triangular shape and one was to the right. Then another one came hurtling towards the rest at what looked like a very fast speed. But as it neared them it suddenly slowed and stopped altogether."By this time more people had poured out onto the street. Two pubs had emptied, some people had come out of their houses and drivers slowed their cars. Were flying saucers like this one hovering over Stratford under the cover of darkness?"The objects were there for about half an hour. It was very eerie because they didn't make any sound and they stayed still before moving slowly beyond the horizon. There were no stars in the sky, just them."It was the most extraordinary thing I've ever seen and the way in which everyone gathered in the street to watch them reminded me of a scene from Independence Day."The extraordinary scenes were also witnessed by some of the staff of the One Elm pub.Chef Kern Griffiths, 26, said: "I saw five lights, we all thought they were hot air balloons at first because the glowing spheres looked like a burst of flames. But I couldn't see any outline of the balloon itself and they were travelling far too fast."Suddenly someone shouted 'look' and there were these bright dots fizzing across the sky. "It was weird, they way they moved did look alien. Some people reckon they're fireworks but they were lit up in the sky for far too long, the local rugby club say they were lanterns that blew loose over the weekend but these objects were far too fast and too high up."They were unlike any aircraft I've seen. It's a mystery."Hillary Potter from The British Earth Aerial Mystery Society (BEAMS) said they were being inundated with similar calls from across the country but said it was rare for such phenomena to be witnessed by so many people. She said: "Such incidents have been on the increase recently. There are reports at the moment coming in from all over the country."We've had many reports of people seeing quite large unidentified objects in the skies. It's not going away, It seems these incidents are becoming more bold. "People don't know what to do when they witness such sights and that's what we're here for. We take the reports very seriously."A Mod Spokesman said: "The MoD does not have any expertise or role in respect of UFOs or flying saucer matters or to the question of the existence of extra terrestrial life forms, about which we remain totally open minded."I should add that to date the MoD knows of no evidence which substantiates the existence of these alleged phenomena. The MoD examines any reports of unidentified flying objects it receives solely to establish whether what was seen might have some defence significance. "Namely whether there is any evidence that the UK air space might have been compromised by hostile or unauthorised foreign military activity."Unless there is evidence of a potential threat to the United Kingdom from an external military source, and to date no UFO report has revealed such evidence, we do not attempt to identify the precise nature of each sighting reported to us."We believe that rational explanations such as aircraft lights or natural phenomena could be found for them if resources were diverted for this purpose but its not the function of the MoD to provide this kind of aerial identification service. "Frankie Spray, from Wellesbourne Airfield, just outside Stratford, added: "The lights were nothing to do with us. None of our aircraft fly at night at this time of year."It's very bizarre but I've got no explanation as to what the lights were."Birmingham Air Space which covers the skies over the town said they had not heard of any unusual activity showing up on the radar.Source : The Daily Mailhttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=470579&in_page_id=1770 Copyright Craig Lowe 2007
- 03/11/2007 - Quinton - White & Red Square Grid UFO Photographs
Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Craig Lowe Release Date: 03/11/2007 In mid August (date not recorded) my girlfriend and I were having a cigarette in the back garden at approx 10.00pm, as we do not smoke in the house as having a 1-year-old daughter. We both noticed out the corner of or eye a huge bright white flash of light followed by a white streak across the sky at a tremendous speed. 📷 On Saturday 3rd November 2007 at approx 3.00pm a red helicopter came over my house extremely low, I could see the pilot. The helicopter had no markings are numbers on it. It was a small possible 2-seater helicopter; even my 1 ear old daughter came over to the window to see it, as it was extremely loud. I understand this may be just coincidence and not actually related to this experience. A few days prior to this experience I had a strange experience involving a dream that stayed on my mind for 2 days, a strange episode with my daughter and a voice inside me. I will not go into this at this point as it personally involves my family and something about my daughter, but is linked to the event, which I am still finding hard trying to explain to myself. 📷 My girlfriend was visiting her grandmother at hospital who is very ill, although related to the experience I won’t explain at this moment. I don’t know by who or how but I was told to “Go outside, it’s time.” I followed this message and went outside through my patio door at the rear of may house. To my amazement I noticed to my left (north) a bright red light travelling towards me. I can only describe the object as square with lots of red lights inside it, just like a modern motorcycle rear light unit. The object was square like a dice, where instead of the dots there were lights. 📷 The object travelled from my left hand side (north) towards me, as it was virtually overhead it slowed down dramatically for a few seconds, I ran in the house to get my camcorder and returned to video the object. As I began recording it started to move away heading to me right which is south. As it moved away I noticed it slightly oval shaped and carried on moving until it disappeared into the horizon. The object, whatever angled I looked at it seemed the same, square with lights whilst it was over head. I returned to the house a made a mental note to video the clock to show the time. It was 10.08pm. 📷 Within a few moments I experienced the same feeling to go outside which I did. Unbelievably the object was back in the same position to my left and repeated the exact same procedure of moving towards me and slowing down. I then returned to the house and made a further recording of the clock 10.14pm. This experience happened another 2 times between 10.20pm and 10.34pm in exactly the same way making it a total of 4 exactly identical sigtings. As you can imagine I was a little amazed and calmed myself down before viewing the footage. 📷 When I viewed the footage I was completely shocked to see I had actually recorded something. It was very clear on the footage that the object was red, had no strobe lights so cannot be a plane or helicopter. The first 2 recordings worked perfectly but I noticed when I played back recordings 3 and 4 that after a few seconds the camera had switched itself off from recording. The camera was working fine when I was using it as I can recall the flashing light on the top telling me it is in record mode but looking at the last 2 footages it somehow decided to stop recording . 📷 I then checked on the Internet to see if there were any more sightings reported, I typed into the search engine UFO QUINTON BIRMINGHAM and was shocked at what I found. I found a site from a person who had made an animation of a sighting they had witnessed in Birmingham in 1985. The simulation was the exact, and mean exact same object I saw. It was the same size; travelled at the same speed it was unbelievable to have seen the same object 22 years later. 📷 You can view the simulation below: I have recently sent a message to the owner of this simulation, as it would be nice to hear their experience. I later viewed the footage on my PC as I have a disc with the camera that allows me to put the footage onto DVD, with this I can slow down and zoom in on the sighting. I have a function which allows me take a snap shot of a frame which I have taken several images and pressed the AUTO EQUALISE button, this tries to clear up the image slightly. 📷 I must state that this is basic software that came with the camera and not of professional standard. If somebody has professional equipment then they probably will be able to get a clearer image from my footage. On several images the object clearly displays a disc shape with a round dome to the top, and the other images, which shows the object when it was closest to me that it is square with lights in it. These images seem to be the eeriest, I think the images are amazing. I hope you find them just as intriguing. 📷 Ministry Of Defence Reply Dear Mr XXXX I am writing concerning your Freedom of Information request asking for details of UFO sightings or reports within the UK for the dates 3 November 2007 and 16 June 2007. Your request has been passed to this Department as we are the focal point within the Ministry of Defence for correspondence relating to UFOs.First, it may be helpful if I explain that the Ministry of Defence (MOD) examines any reports of ‘unidentified flying objects’ it receives solely to establish whether what was seen might have some defence significance; namely, whether there is any evidence that the United Kingdom’s airspace might have been compromised by hostile or unauthorised air activity. Unless there is evidence of at potential threat to the United Kingdom from an external source, and to date no ‘UFO’ report has revealed such evidence, we do not attempt to identify the precise nature of each sighting reported to us. We believe that rational explanations, such as aircraft lights or natural phenomena, could be found for them if resources were diverted for this purpose, but it is not the function of the MOD to provide this kind of aerial identification service. It would be an inappropriate use of defence resources if we were to do so. With regard to your request asking for information detailing UFO sightings or reports for the dates 16 June and 3 November 2007, the MOD has a website, http://www.mod.uk/DefenceInternet/FreedomofInformation/PublicationScheme, on which reports for this current year will be placed on in January 2008. Therefore, as provided by exemption s.22 (information intended for future publication) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, the MOD is not obliged to comply with your request. Most of the time people see shadow government craft but, the pics are cool!.If you'd like me to forward any e-mails to my contacts in high places, then please let me know. Many Best Regards, WITH HELD (identity with held by request). Since you got a conscious override to go out and look, it was most likely friendly ET. When the covert projects use the psychotronics on people it is generally to scare them and thus make them avoid contact with the real ET's, who are generally not bad at all. In this way the covert projects are trying to hold onto control of the topic. If too many people had positive contact experiences and were not suppressed about talking about them (Psychological warfare - psyops, ridicule, discrediting, and if the media were not controlled, then it would be generally known and accepted that we have frequent visitors. With the shift in world view from knowing that we are not the only people in the universe, people might start behaving differently, and the puppet masters of the world would have a harder time controlling us with stupid tricks like fear and ridicule. My first impression is that you had a very good encounter, complete with video and conscious contact. Batteries often drain rapidly in the vicinity of a craft, so you may have run down the battery for the 3rd and 4th events. You seem to have a connection, so I suggest you work on Meditation and consciousness exercises so that you can be more conscious and aware in the future. If you desire contact and work to raise your level of consciousness, you will have contact, and if you set your intentions to only work with those of the highest good, it will be very good contact. - 28/11/2007 - Quinton - Flying Triangle Sighting
Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Craig Lowe Release Date: 28/11/2007 I had returned from work at approximately 6.30pm and my girlfriend was in the kitchen preparing our daughters dinner. I greeted my daughter and played with her for approx 25 mins when my girlfriend called me to give our daughter her dinner. I collected her dinner from the kitchen and walked back through to the living room. The strange thing here was that instead of giving my daughter her food I put the dish on the fire place and walked straight outside through the patio doors - this was approx 7.00pm. I immediately looked directly to the eastern horizon where I noticed 3 faint red lights just above the roof tops of the house at the back of my house. I watched for a few seconds to see if any signature flashes could be seen from the lights which would identify the lights as an aeroplane but there was no flashing at all. As the lights approached I could distinguish a triangular pattern with two lights at the bottom and one above. On the approach I noticed it was blacking out the stars in the sky and I realised it must be a solid object and not three separate objects. I instantly ran inside to collect my camcorder and went back outside to record the object. The object was travelling quite slowly and hadn’t gained much distance in the time I went inside the house. I started to record the object and then realised I needed to report this. I phoned Mark Martin of the Birmingham UFO group as he lives close to me and thought he may be able to see it also. Unfortunately he was not at home but did manage to take my call. I had now been outside for approximately 3 mins and the object was now above me, I called my girlfriend to come and look as she could be a witness. The object was solid black and against the black sky it was not easily located as the red lights were also faint. 📷 I pointed the objects location to my girlfriend who was also shocked when she saw it. I noticed as it passed over us that not only was it blocking out the stars but it actually was blocking out whole constellations. As we stood their watching in amazement I was concentrating my attention on the camcorder display screen, trying to make sure I had the object in focus. I couldn’t actually see the object in the view finder as the sky being black and the object was black my camera wasn’t sensitive enough to differentiate the two. At this point my girlfriend said "They must be able to see it". "Who", I said. "Them in that plane". I looked at the object and noticed a commercial plane was flying underneath the object. I estimated the plane was flying at its cruising altitude as at arms length the plane was approximately the size of a dot against your thumb and the black triangular object which was above the plane was approximately the size of a Dorito (tortilla crisp) at arms length (This is where the headlines in the newspapers quoted I said it was like a Dorito, where in fact I only used the word Dorito as an adjective to explain the size of the triangle compared to the size of plane) We watched the object pass over us and watched until it disappeared into the horizon, which would have been heading in the Stourbridge direction. The object made no sound at all and travelled extremely slow, we stayed outside after the object has disappeared for approximately another 2 mins, we then heard a loud raw of a jet engine overhead, I was able to distinguish this from a commercial plane as we live in the flight path for Birmingham international airport and commonly hear low flying planes overhead. I have also attending for many years the air display show of military craft at RAF Cosford, and this sound of plane did sound like a military jet. As soon as I went inside I phoned Steve Poole of UFO Research Midlands and reported the sighting to him. Steve contacted me the following day and informed me a colleague of his had called him 10 mins after I did and they also reported seeing a triangular object close to Redditch. My first thought was that is was a F117 USAF stealth bomber, but I soon came to the conclusion that if this particular type of aircraft was doing a flyover of Birmingham then almost all aeroplane enthusiasts would be aware, surely airspace would be restricted to commercial flights, would this type of aircraft fly over an international airport whilst numerous commercial planes were quite visible in close proximity to it. And finally, I may be wrong but I would have thought that if this type of aircraft was flying over an international city and airport that it wouldn’t be flying solo, at least it would be escorted by other military jets. 📷 On Friday morning at 6.20am a witness in Walsall reported into a local radio station that whilst walking his dog he saw a large black triangle object flying over him he then noticed two military jets pursued the object. He said he had never seen anything so big. As reported by myself, the footage is inconclusive due to the object does not stand out from the black sky. I recall filming approximately 3 mins of footage but on play back only 33 seconds have been recorded. I must note that on another separate sighting on 3rd November I videoed an unidentified object 4 times, when watching this footage back only 2 recordings worked. These sightings are still being investigated by BUFOG and UFORM, if you have any further details or witnessed the sighting then please contact us. - 13/12/2007 - Belbroughton - Orange/White Lights Sighting
Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Craig Lowe Release Date: 13/12/2007 I got your contact name from this article http://www.rense.com/general79/doz.htm sent on to me by my uncle in the US after I told him about a weird encounter we had last month. We saw something over Belbroughton/Blakedown around 17.20 on Thursday 13 December - 3 large orange/white lights on what can only be described as a HUGE low flying very slow moving silent object, it could only be travelling at our speed around 40 miles an hour as we kept up with it. Also it was "tailed" by two small lights at either side of this shape which again could not be planes as they would have been so close. We wanted to get some reference to see if it was a similar thing to the sightings in November. Have you got available footage of that UFO from end of November that I can view online? Or something you can send via email? Regards XXXXXX Further information When I saw the object, or I should say the lights - it was pitch black but I got the distinct impression it was solid, and the lights stayed the same distance apart in the triangular formation. No sound was audible - I wound down the window of the car to listen and the road was quiet. I lost sight of it behind the trees on the B road from Belbroughton that goes over the back to Drayton and Bournheath. The path I would say that it was taking when I saw it was from Harvington direction and heading over to Romsley/Frankley way in a fairly straight path. We had an impression of a huge size, just because it was so low, if it had been a plane it would hav been far too low to the ground. We regularly see the planes going too and from Birmingham and also Woverhampton airports and this was much closer to the ground. I can be exact about the time as we made a note of it, as it freaked us out a bit. Hope that helps. Copyright Craig Lowe 2007
- 23/12/2007 - Stourbridge - Orange Lights Sighting
Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Craig Lowe Release Date: 23/12/2007 Hi, I wondered if the following might be of interest to you. My job involves call-out duties and I was travelling to such a call-out on Sunday 23/12/2007 at approximately 2125 GMT. As I was driving along the St. Johns Road section of Stourbridge Ring Road in the Left-hand lane, passing the BP Petrol Station, heading towards the Hagley Road exit, I happened to look up and saw an odd pattern of lights low in the sky at my approximate 2 o'clock position (sketch attached). They were apparently moving right to left at a moderate speed keeping perfect formation as shown when suddenly the bottom right-hand one broke formation and moved further to the right of the others, which remained on their original course and in perfect formation. At one point I could have sworn I could make out a dark outline between the 3 lights forming the triangle but that might just have been my brain filling in the missing information it thought should be there. After a short while, I lost sight of them behind the various buildings in front of me. I have no real idea of the scale, i.e. whether it was small and fairly close or large and more distant. It did appear quite low in the sky, hence I lost it behind the buildings. My journey took me along the Hagley Road towards the junction with the A456 at the old Hagley Cattle Market traffic lights and then Left on the A456 towards Birmingham. I thought I may have gained sight again as I climbed up the hill and beyond the Wassell Grove roundabout and the Badgers Sett but much scanning of the sky revealed nothing that could have been what I'd seen. It may have been obscured by the Clent Hills at that point though of course. Even when my view in that direction improved again on the Halesowen Bypass, there was nothing further to be seen. The lights were a similar colour to amber street lights which made me wonder if it was some kind of reflection in the windscreen. So on the way back from my call-out some 2 hours later, I drove around to the exact position again but could not recreate what I saw. I have a scientific background and tend to analyse most things in life very carefully before jumping to any conclusions but I've racked my brains to think of a logical explanation for this and can't. Things I've considered: Stars - Wrong colour and too bright for most stars plus obvious movement. I'm pretty sure that their movement was 'real' and not just a result of my own relative movement. Planets - No for similar reasons. Satellites reflecting sunlight - Wrong part of the sky I think. Meteors - Movement far too slow. Aircraft flying in formation - Possible I suppose but it just didn't look 'right' for that. There were no navigation lights or anti-collision beacons visible. I don't think they were aircraft landing lights either. I'm quite familiar with the appearance of all three type of light. Hot Air Balloons - The light sources were constant, not in bursts as balloon burners would appear. In all my years, that is the first time I've ever seen something of this nature first hand that I can't find an explanation for. From my point of view this sighting classes as a UFO on the basis that it was clearly a flying object (or objects) that I couldn't identify. I'm very interested to know if anyone else saw this and can offer me an explanation. Regards, Sxxxx Pxxxxx Copyright Craig Lowe 2007
- 06/02/2008 - Kingstanding - Orange Orb Sighting
Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Craig Lowe Release Date: 06/02/2008 Hi there, just been reading through your site. Myself and fiance were at work (Night shift) when we saw a large red/orange roundish object in the sky which when first seen appeared to be a ball of fire (looked like a plane in distress, engine fire) which caught our eye. As we observed the object for about ten minutes over the Kingstanding area of Birmingham, it was silent, moving slowly and occasionally changed it's flight path. I would estimate that it was about 300 feet high. At some points it would also stop stationary in the sky before moving off again still completely silent. The object eventually disappeared out of view as it moved away from us. This was also witnessed by several other professional people. We managed to get a single photograph of the object on my phone which appeared to the naked eye to be a ball of fire. However upon looking at the photo and zooming in it appeared to be a a small orange triangularish shape with what I can only describe as a greenish red straw shaped probe coming from the main object pointing towards the ground. The probe appeared to be quite long four times the length of the object from which it stemmed. This was nowhere near the ground itself but seemed to hang in mid air. This could not be seen with the naked eye but only showed up on the photograph. We've since learned that this object continues to be seen in the Birmingham and Staffordshire areas and also on other internet sites we have seen the same object on people's videos/pictures throughout the world. We have retained the photograph and have also learned that although there were civil airliners in the sky at the time Birmingham International airport did not pick up any object on radar at that time. Just thought this would be of interest to you, it certainly is to us and we still can't explain it! We look forward to any answers you may have!! Regards XXXXX Copyright Craig Lowe 2008
- 25/12/2007 - Wrexham - Orange Orbs Newspaper Article
Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Craig Lowe Release Date: 25/12/2007 The Flintshire Standard Date: 31 December 2007 Location: Wrexham Mystery over UFO sighting Mr Hughes says the objects were like those captured on camera near Wrexham earlier this year. "They were travelling quite fast, about 10-12 seconds apart and were revolving. They were travelling too fast to be aircraft and they were completely silent." Harry Hughes A FLINTSHIRE man is looking for answers after seeing five unexplained lights in the sky on Christmas Day. Harry Hughes, of Grays Road, Mynydd Isa, was returning some extra chairs to the shed after enjoying Christmas dinner with his family at about 7.20pm. 📷 He said: "I looked up and saw what looked like five bright orangey-red fireballs flying through the sky, coming from the Bodfari direction. "They were travelling quite fast, about 10-12 seconds apart and were revolving. They were travelling too fast to be aircraft and they were completely silent." Harry called to his wife Pam to look at the strange objects before they disappeared and as she followed him out to the garden, they began to change direction. Harry said: "They had been travelling west, but then they began to change direction one by one and started heading north. They were travelling at a high speed when they began to go north and were slanting upwards. "My wife saw the last two and she looked at them through binoculars. The last one, which was bigger than all the rest, stopped momentarily then shot upwards, following the others north." The police helicopter travelled past our house about 10 minutes later. If it had been a bit earlier, then I'm sure police would have noticed these objects. Harry's description of the mysterious fireballs matches that of Leigh and Lynn Williams, of Borras, Wrexham, who caught sight of several strange orange orbs in the sky in July, and he said he believed they were similar. The couple also managed to take a video of the strange sighting, which was posted on the Evening Leader website and was the subject of much public debate. Some posters, and UFO experts who spoke to the Leader, felt the incident merited further investigation, while others dismissed the sighting as being the result of Chinese lanterns. 📷 Speaking at the time, Lynn said: "There were seven lights flying fast over the house. Two of them were flying round each other. They were flying very close together, closer than planes. They were going so fast we couldn't focus on them.Leigh added: "There was no noise whatsoever. Surely if they were aircraft there would have been lots of noise. "My wife was panicking. We just want to know what it was. When they went over it happened so quick. They moved very smoothly and were glowing." Harry said: "I have no idea what these lights were, but I am really glad that I have seen something like this and I am glad my wife is able to verify that they were totally unexplained. I'll be looking out for more over the next few days. I'm just sorry we weren't able to get a picture or a video of them, but there wasn't enough time." Copyright Craig Lowe 2008
- 03/01/2008 - Dudley Dorito Newspaper Article
Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Craig Lowe Release Date: 03/01/2008 Mystery ‘arrowhead’ UFO spotted A mysterious “flying Dorito-shaped” object which was seen by dozens of people just before Christmas has been spotted again – this time in the skies above Lower Gornal. The strange unexplained flying object was seen by residents in Wallows Wood, off The Straits, at around 6.15pm on Tuesday. Householders described the object as looking like an “arrowhead” with three orange lights arranged in the shape of an isosceles triangle. 📷 Residents watched it move slowly across the sky before it disappeared from view in the direction of Wolverhampton. It is the second time the triangular object has been spotted flying over the Black Country in recent weeks. Scores of people contacted the Express & Star after seeing a UFO in the skies above Wednesfield and Dudley in December and Stourbridge-based UFO Research Midlands was deluged with calls and emails from onlookers who witnessed the object. Lower Gornal resident Peter Wasdell, aged 57, said he could not believe his eyes when he saw the object. "The dog started barking and when my wife went outside to find out what was going on she saw the object in the sky and called me out to have a look," he said. "There were three orangey lights in a triangle formation. They weren’t shaped like an equilateral triangle, more like an isosceles triangle, and shaped like an old fashioned arrow head. I don’t think it was a plane because we didn’t hear any noise. "My daughter and her boyfriend and the next door neighbours all saw them and we watched them for about 15 minutes before they disappeared behind the trees." Paranormal enthusiast Craig Lowe, who is a member of the Birmingham UFO group, said the area was a “hotspot” for unexplained activity. Mr Lowe, who captured December’s sighting on videotape, said he believed the object could be some sort of military aircraft. 📷 Birmingham International Airport spokesman John Morris said the airport took all reports of UFOs seriously. “We had a couple of inquiries before Christmas following the first sightings over Halesowen,” he revealed. - 25/12/2007 - Oldbury - Orange Square UFO Sighting 3
Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Craig Lowe Release Date: 25/12/2007 I had been visiting a member of my family on Christmas day who lived close to Wheatley Road, Oldbury. It was approximately 8.00pm and my girlfriend and I were just leaving to visit another member of the family around the corner. When we were outside the house I glanced up towards the sky and noticed a light travelling from my right side. We were facing the Wolverhampton road so I guessed we were facing south, the light was approaching from my right which would have been west. As it passed over us I could see it was an orange light with no wings or any other object protruding from it, I first thought that’s a strange light for an aircraft as there is only one light and it did not flash, and there was no sound what so ever. It travelled towards our left side which again I estimated to be east as this is the direction of Birmingham city centre. As the light was travelling away it seemed to be pulsing, not flashing but pulsing in and out. The object was not flying at the height of a plane but was higher than what a helicopter flies. I thought this was a little strange and my girlfriend didn’t really take any notice, we then got into our vehicle and travelled to my other relative in Marshall Road which was just round the corner. As we exited the vehicle I looked up at the same part of the sky and to my surprise this light was there again. I told my girlfriend to look and she just replied it’s probably just an aircraft and carried on into the house. I stood and watched the light again and it was travelling in exactly the same path and at a steady pace. At this point I remembered I had a digital camera in my car due to taking the usual family Christmas photos. I tried pointing the view finder towards the object but could not see anything on the LCD display and was not sure if I was even pointing in same direction as it was dark. I did not take a picture and just concentrated on observing the object, as it passed again over to my left it seemed to pulse again and kind of shrunk right down until it looked just like a dot, after a few seconds its size or luminosity increased again and it travelled off until it disappeared into the horizon. I thought, was it a second object following the first as there was approximately 3 mins between the two sightings or was it the same object coming again. I did not see the object circle and come back on the first sighting so maybe it was two individual objects. The episode of each object took about 2.5 to 3 mins to travel from the place I noticed it to the place where I lost sight of it. I know there was a sighting in Quinton which is just down the road back in November and that person actually obtained video footage of a light which followed a few minutes later by another one. There was also a sighting on Christmas Eve; reportedly of this same light literally yards away from where I saw it in Clent Road. What ever this mysterious light is, it seems to keep coming back for some reason. Regards ***** Copyright Craig Lowe 2007
- 24/12/2007 - Oldbury - Orange Square UFO Sightings
Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Craig Lowe Release Date: 24/12/2007 Oldbury, West Midlands Time : 7.20pm Date : 24/12/07 Witnesses 3 : Mr & Mrs X and their son Richard X Witnesses have requested their identify to be anonymous. At 7.20pm on Monday 24th December 2007 Richard X, was sitting in the arm chair which was positioned in the bay window of his parents house, also in the room were his mother and father. Richard noticed a light in the sky in the north direction which would be in the direction over M5 junction 2 and seemed to have come from the West. He asked his parents to come to the window to look at the light. He described the light of resembling a street light, square and with an orange colour. He said it was bright orange as if it was on fire, it had a brilliant luminosity about it. All three of them went outside to their driveway to view the object. When viewing from the window Richard said he could just see it over the houses opposite but when they went outside the three witnesses all said the same, that the object was travelling upwards at an approximately angle of 50 -60 degrees. The object was travelling upwards at quite a fast speed when it suddenly levelled out and stopped. The object then started heading eastward towards Birmingham, Richard estimated the object to be close to the Hagley Road Birmingham when it suddenly disappeared as if the lights had been switched off. All three witnesses said they have never seen anything like this before, they are accustomed to the usual lights of aircraft and helicopters but none of them fitted this object, they said others must have seen it. I was called by the family at approximately 7.34pm that same night and asked if I could see the object from my location as I only live about half a mile away, I could not see object from my location but whilst being on the phone to Mrs X I witnessed the sound of amazement in their voices when the object disappeared. I notified Steve Poole from UFORM of the sighting and was contacted the following day by Steve informing me that he had received a report from a witness in Kingswinford who had seen an object like a ball of fire passing over him at approximately 7.15pm on that same night. The direction from which Richard said it was coming from implies these witnesses may have seen the same object. Craig, BUFOG Copyright Craig Lowe 2007
