Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Year: 2016 Last Updated: 01/10/2025   In September 2016 I gave a talk alongside an experiencer at a conference held in the building alongside All Saints Church in Moseley. At the conference I met a man named Gordon Holmes. He informed me he had a childhood UFO sighting he wanted to discuss. We did not have long to talk so I asked him to send me the details to investigate over the following days.   Sightings Details   In 1958 when Gordon was 10 years old he was a pupil at Mapledene Junior and Infants School on Mapledene Road, Sheldon, Birmingham.   Aerial photograph of Mapledene School  Gordon’s classroom was on the first floor of the two storey building visible in the above photograph. One day he was gazing out of the window during a lesson when he suddenly noticed a glowing orange orb of light. It appeared from nowhere and passed along the length of the driveway in an undulating manner. Photograph of the entrance of the school As it moved, the other children in the class noticed it and also started watching it. Gordon says that some of the girls were frightened by it and began crying, whereas others rushed to the window to get a better look. He believes that the orb was emitting some kind of energy to deliberately instil fear in anyone who observed it. However, he himself was more curious that frightened.   When it reached the end of the driveway the orb took off over the nearby roundabout and passed over the roof of the Infants School in a South Easterly direction.   After it had departed the teacher tried to restore some order by commanding the children to return to their desks. According to Gordon they then tried passing the orb off as ball lightning and told them it was nothing to worry about.   Later on that day when class was dismissed, he walked to a local convenience store with some friends on the crossroads with Cranes Park Road to buy a Mars bar.   Aerial map indicating the location the sweet shop used to be After purchasing the chocolate Gordon and his friends were standing close to the shop entrance when they suddenly heard someone shouting that the orange ball had come back! Gordon looked up and watched the orb pass right over the roof of the shop, over his head then fly off in the same meandering manner as before, once again heading South East.   On the opposite side of the shop was open fields, with Elmdon Airport visible in the distance. Gordon noted that the orb had flown away in the direction of the terminal building on the airport.   Aerial map indicating the route between the school and the airport terminal building The airport is much larger now and known as Birmingham International Airport, and housing now exists where the fields once were. Decades on, Gordon still thinks about the orb and wonders what it was and what it was doing there on that day.   Sightings Analysis   This is quite a fascinating daytime repeat sighting of one or two glowing UFOs. The orbs were clearly not normal aircraft, helicopters or hot air balloons due to their appearance, low altitude and apparent small size. They also looked very different to remote controlled models. The sightings occurred many decades before drones were commercially available, and as it was daylight the structure would have been visible.   The teacher’s explanation of ball lightning was clearly incorrect, as ball lightning only appears in stormy weather conditions. Earth lights are also very improbable, these are quite rare and tend to only appear over remote rural or swampy areas.   If it had happened in more recent times I would have potentially put the orbs down to a couple of sky lanterns launched at different times, although these tend to be launched after dark. This incident happened right back in the 1950s, decades before such things were available to purchase. That said, it is possible that someone nearby created two home-made lanterns and for some reason launched them in the daytime. Although it could be interpreted that it was a singular object remaining in the vicinity and moving with intent, in reality it was two separate sightings of similar looking objects travelling on a roughly straight course. The meandering movement of the orbs could be explained as natural drift occurring as they travelled along in air currents.   I feel that given the facts of what took place, two separately launched lit inflatables is the most likely explanation, both of which happen to have been witnessed by the same individuals.   Copyright Dave Hodrien 2025

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Year: 2016 Last Updated: 01/10/2025   Sighting Details   On the evening of 11 th  September 2016 Andy was walking his dog in Aylestone Meadows Local Nature Reserve, an area of open countryside just outside of Leicester.   Aerial map of Aylestone Meadows He had his Nikon D5200 camera with him to catch a few shots of the countryside. The camera has a 70-300mm zoom lens.   Photograph of Andy and his Nikon camera At 5:38pm he noticed a couple of low flying planes. He put a telephoto lens onto his camera to take a photograph of them as they passed.   A minute later something unusual in the sky caught his eye. It appeared to be a stationary shiny crescent-shaped object. It seemed to be at an altitude of around 20000 feet, similar to the other aircraft he had observed. He did not think too much of it initially, so went through the process of taking the lens cap off his camera, which took between 10-20 seconds.   When he looked back up at the object he now noticed it appeared to be spinning at approximately one revolution a second in a very consistent manner. At this point he began taking photographs of the strange object. Over the next 90 seconds he took many photographs of it. During this time the object remained completely stationary in the sky, and the speed of rotation did not change at all.   Below are the photographs which Andy initially took between 5:39pm and 5:40pm, according to his written statement. Some of them he has cropped in order to highlight the odd shape of the object:   He then noticed a second crescent-shaped object, again at a similar altitude. This second object seemed to be travelling at great speed towards the initial object, considerably faster than the speed high altitude planes would fly at. He aimed the camera towards this second object but it disappeared behind some cloud before he could get a photograph of it. It did not reappear. He looked back at the initial object, which was still present, and took another couple of photographs. As he did so the object suddenly accelerated and moved rapidly towards the horizon on a steady consistent path. Below are the final two photographs Andy took. He believes the second image was taken after the object had started moving:   After about 10 seconds it had vanished into the distance! Once it had disappeared he again looked for the second object but it appeared to have left the vicinity. He remained in the area for a while longer and took several more photographs of low flying aircraft.   Metadata Analysis   Original photographs have lots of hidden EXIF metadata stored with them when taken on a camera or smartphone. While this metadata varies per camera, it provides lots of useful information including camera make and model, settings, lighting conditions and precise timings for when the image was photographed. It can also be used to determine whether images have been tampered with or not. I examined the images on using an online EXIF metadata viewer. Below is the metadata for the initial image as an example:   However in counting the number of photos Andy sent me, and studying their metadata, a number of glaring discrepancies between his written statement and what the photos seem to show have become clear: -          In his statement Andy said he took 20 photographs in total. There are in fact 24 photographs. -          In his statement Andy said that the incident took place on 11 th  September 2016. According to the metadata the photographs were all taken on 14 th  September 2016. -          In his statement Andy mentioned that he first photographed the object at around 5:39pm. However in the above example metadata, extracted from the first photograph, it can be seen that the time states 8:13:23am -          In his statement Andy said that he took the majority of the photos over a period of 90 seconds, before taking a final two soon afterwards. However the metadata of the photographs states that the main sequence was taken between 08:13:23am and 08:26:38am, a much greater length of time. Regarding the number of photographs, it is probable that Andy just mis-counted the number of images he’d taken. It is also possible that he got the date when the incident occurred wrong when thinking back to it to write his statement. However, the other discrepancies are harder to explain. According to Andy he visited the nature reserve in the evening not the morning, and the sighting was relatively short as opposed to over 13 minutes in length. While it is possible he got the date wrong it  seems unlikely he would get the time of day completely incorrect, or how long he photographed the object for as it sat rotating in the sky. There is the possibility that the metadata has not recorded the date and time of the images correctly for an unknown reason, although everything else appears correct, and it should be noted that I have not seen this happen before. The specific date and time saved in the metadata is based on whatever time has been set for the clock on the camera software. However, even if this was incorrectly set, this would not have affected the length of time between the individual photographs. It should also be noted that the colour of the sky looks more like early evening rather than morning, which fits with his testimony. It is possible that the dates and times recorded against these photos are not when they were originally taken but when they were either viewed or stored at a later point. If Andy was taking a number of seconds to look at each of them this would make sense. Unfortunately, he has not got back in touch despite efforts to reach out to him to discuss the dates and times discovered in the metadata. For now I assume that the timings mentioned in his testimony are correct, and those discovered in the metadata are for some reason incorrect. Despite the glaring discrepancies regarding the dates and times, I certainly believe that the photographs are genuine and un-doctored. When images are edited in computer image editing software such as Paintshop Pro, the metadata changes in quite a number of ways. This varies by camera make and model. Below is a comparison between the metadata of the first photograph, and an intentionally modified copy of it, with metadata titles & values of particular note highlighted: When Nikon camera images are altered, the following metadata changes occur: -          Some of the metadata values change their order -          Software changes from a version number to the name and version of the picture editing program -          Exif IDF Pointer and GPS Info IDF Pointer numbers change -          Padding, YCbCrPositioning, XPAuthor, MakerNote, Interoperability IFD Pointer, OffsetSchema and InteroperabilityVersion all vanish -          YCbCrSubSampling, ICC_Profile and IPTC-NAA appear As you can see from the comparison, these changes have occurred on the intentionally modified image, but not the original photograph sent to me from the witness. While it is possible to alter metadata, most people do not even know it exists let alone how to amend it, and it is difficult to do so entirely, certain differences usually remain in place. Therefore, I feel that these photographs are extremely likely to be un-doctored. Google Lens Analysis I tried running the images on Google Lens to see if any similar pictures were available online. It did not come up with any direct matches, however it did locate numerous videos and pictures reminiscent of it. Below is a link to a video posted on an alien-themed Reddit group in June 2025. The witness, “azzanrev”, believes that it may be a chrome coloured balloon: https://www.reddit.com/r/aliens/comments/1l359pl/i_took_this_video_a_few_days_ago_i_assumed_it_was As you can see in this video, the object is brightly reflecting the sunlight making it appear white in colour, similar to the photographs Andy took. It is also rotating continuously in an air current, just as Andy reported. Obviously this object drifts as the video progresses, where as Andy said that the object he saw did not move position until the very end of the sighting. The Google Lens results also displayed numerous photographs of the crescent moon in a blue sky, such as the below photographs posted to TikTok by Mdhrithik Hossen: https://www.tiktok.com/@mdhrithik.hossen/photo/7543266601274051848 While the colour and shape do look a little similar, I do not believe this was what was photographed by Andy due to the wildly different shapes seen across the sequence of photographs. Conclusions From the metadata we have established that the photographs have not been tampered with using a computer paint package and appear to be real. But what exactly do they show? The colour of the object appears white, I believe the orangey tint seen is very likely to be the evening sunlight reflecting off it. The changing shape of the object from image to image is very likely down to the rotation Andy described. It’s a shame he did not take any burst shots to get a better view of this rotation. The object appears to be flattened, and symmetrical horizontally, almost bat-shaped, with a clearly central “stem” and folds along it at various points. It is possibly made of a thin material and semi-translucent. The object Andy has captured is certainly unusual, and at present, even after contacting numerous other UFO researchers for their opinion, I do not have a definite answer regarding what it is. I did consider whether it was a bright star/planet which had been warped due to instability of the camera, however the symmetry seen in some of the images points away from this explanation. That said, does not really look like a structured craft. It seems more likely that it was some kind of novelty inflatable, with air currents causing it to constantly rotate. However, Andy did state that it retained its position in the sky as he took the photographs, but then suddenly flew away quite fast, which sounds more like it was under intelligent control than drifting. As you can see there are certain aspects of this incident which point away from the object being a balloon. These aspects, combined with the anomalies between the witness’s testimony and the metadata of the photographs, make it a compelling mystery. Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Year: 2016 Last Updated: 30/09/2025   In early October 2016 a man from Handsworth named Jamie got in touch with BUFOG via phone to discuss a direct sighting and a later photograph he had taken earlier in the year. This report covers his sighitng from late July or early August.   Sighting Details   On the evening of the incident Jamie was at his 2 nd  floor flat on Browns Green, Handsworth. At around 5:30-6pm he glanced out of the window to the East in the direction of Handsworth Wood.   Aerial map indicating Browns Green (A) and Handsworth Wood (B) It was a clear and bright evening, with only light cloud in the sky. He noticed what appeared to be two small sized black coloured spheres moving on a straight course across the sky. They appeared to be about 6 feet wide, and were travelling on a straight and level course to the North at a very fast speed, possibly hundreds of miles per hour. He estimated they were about 1.5 miles away from him at at a low altitude, possibly 1000 feet.   The spheres were only visible for 2-3 seconds before they were lost from sight due to the edge of the window. Jamie headed outside to the 2 nd floor balcony but the spheres were no longer visible.   Later on he checked YouTube and came across other cases from the USA involving pairs of spheres.   Sighting Analysis   This is an interesting case, although the spheres did not perform any manoeuvres that indicated they were definitely under intelligent control. They certainly did not appear to be normal aircraft, helicopters or drones.   To Jamie they appeared to be moving at an extremely fast speed, which would rule out the idea of them being black balloons. However, it is sometimes hard to accurately judge the distance and therefore speed of objects in the sky. It is therefore possible that they were balloons caught in a fast air current and drifting along after one another.   I have investigated many sightings of spherical UFOs before, some of which have performed incredible manoeuvres. But on this occasion, despite the fact that the objects seemed to be following one another, the possibility that they were balloons cannot be ruled out.   Later in the year Jamie managed to take a photograph of a glowing or highly reflective UFO. Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Year: 2016 Last Updated: 30/09/2026   In October 2016 Jamie got in touch with BUFOG via phone to discuss a photograph he’d taken the previous month, as well as an earlier sighting. This report covers the photo. His sighting of two black spheres has been written up separately (link towards the end of this report)   Photograph Details   On 28 th  September 2016 Jamie was at his 2 nd  floor flat on Browns Green, Handsworth. At 7:05pm he went out onto the balcony to take a few photographs of the sunset in the direction of West Albion Football Stadium to the South West West.   Aerial map indicating Browns Green (A) and West Albion Football Club (B) He noticed nothing out of the ordinary at the time. However, the next day when he checked the photographs he noticed one of them appeared to have a brightly glowing oval/disc-shaped light or object on it:   Photograph Analysis   When analysing photographs, I often use an Exif Metadata Viewer to analyse image metadata, which can provide useful information and also help confirm whether or not the image has been tampered with on a computer image editing program. Unfortunately, the photograph Jamie sent me is not an original image off his camera so it has no metadata attached to it.   However, this does mean that it is not authentic. If Jamie had intentionally hoaxed the image I would have expected him to come up with a more interesting back story and claim to have seen it at the time with his naked eye, which he did not.   Below is a zoomed view of the object/light: Zoomed view with edge find: The photograph is intriguing, and I can understand why the witness may have interpreted it as a glowing oval or disc-shaped object. However, I feel that this is more than likely going to be lens flare. I have seen and analysed numerous similar photographs before.   Jamie did not see anything at the time, and only noticed the light the next day while checking his photographs. If it was a physical glowing/highly reflective object, then it would have had to have been moving extremely rapidly for him not to have noticed it. There would therefore have been motion blur, away from the direction of movement, though it is clear from the zoomed in image that the edges are sharply defined and no motion blur is visible. Obviously this does not rule out the idea of an object very briefly appearing then vanishing again, but this seems improbable.   Even though the sun is not present in the photograph itself, Jamie took the photo in a South West West direction, in the area of sky where the setting sun would have been present. I feel the most likely explanation is that this is a reflection of sunlight caught on this singular image. I have not seen the other images which Jamie claims to have taken, but perhaps they were taken at a slightly different angle meaning that the lens flare only occurred on this one image. Or perhaps a cloud was covering the sun when the other images were snapped.   As mentioned at the start of the report Jamie had a UFO sighting earlier in 2016. Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Year: 2016 Last Updated: 30/09/2025   Note: For reasons of anonymity a pseudonym has been used for one of the witnesses   In 2016 I met a man named Ian at a conference. He informed me that his stepmother Sue had a sighting back in the 1970s. I informed him I’d love to speak with her about it. Soon afterwards she got in touch via Facebook Messenger to go over the experience.   Sighting Details   Sue thinks the incident took place in 1972. One night at around 10pm her boyfriend at the time, “Jamie” was walking her home East along Pennyhill Lane, West Bromwich in the direction of Great Barr. It was a dry, clear and still night, with the stars visible in the sky.   Aerial map of Pennyhill Lane   Photograph of Pennyhill Lane in the direction the witnesses were walking  They noticed a brightly glowing orb of light in the sky. It seemed to be at high altitude, and a couple of miles away from their location. They both initially put it down to an aeroplane, but then realised it was stationary and also appeared to be spinning.   Witness drawing of the orb  After a number of seconds, the orb suddenly separated into two identical orbs, seemingly about 10 feet from one another! Then a number of seconds later they moved back together again into a single orb.   Witness drawing of the split orbs  After this five smaller sized orbs seemed to emerge from the main orb at equal positions around its outer edge and began to rotate around it in a clockwise direction. Again after a number of seconds these seemed to re-join the main orb.   Witness drawing of the smaller orbs circling the larger orb  After this the orb shot away extremely rapidly to the North, and disappeared into the distance in just a second! Sue was convinced it was something highly unusual due to the speed that it departed. She says that she was frozen to the spot with shock watching it, and after it had gone Jamie informed her she had been squeezing his hand really tightly.   Sue claims that they were not the only witnesses to the object, as soon afterwards there was an article about it in the local newspaper. Unfortunately, she did not keep a copy of this article.   Sighting Analysis   This is an intriguing distant sighting. Although no solid structure to the object was visible (possibly because of the distance), the manoeuvres observed mean that this was very unlikely to have been aircraft or helicopters. The incident took place decades before drones were commercially available, and the orb left the vicinity far too rapidly for it to have been a cluster of lit inflatables or radio controlled models.   I find it unlikely that this sighting was of a number of searchlights being shone from a nearby venue or special event. Sue stated that it was a clear night with the stars visible, so there would have been no cloud for the search lights to bounce off. Also surely the lights would just have been turned off, not suddenly tilted so as to appear to fly away into the distance? That said, this explanation cannot be completely ruled out.   It is unknown whether the object really did split and duplicate or whether there were actually two objects which remained close to one another for most of the sighting. The smaller orbs which appeared certainly seemed to have emerged out of the main object and exhibited intelligently controlled movements.   It is a shame that Sue did not keep a copy of the article in the newspaper. She did not provide me with the name of the paper, and with only a rough estimation as to the date it would be extremely hard to track this down.   As Sue has now split from Jamie and they are not on close terms I am unable to speak with him to get a second statement. However, I have no reason at all to doubt that Sue’s story took place the way that she has mentioned.   Copyright Dave Hodrien 2025

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Year: 2016 Last Updated: 24/09/2025   Note: For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used for some witnesses Ian Gunner is a podcaster and UFO researcher. Back in 2000/2001 he had an incredible sighting of a triangular-shaped craft in the area of Cannock Chase, a known location of heightened activity. This report covers what took place. Ian has also had a previous sighting written up as a separate case report. Sighting Details   Late summer in 2000 or 2001 Ian and two friends were returning from a weekend away, with him on the back seat, “Gareth” on the front passenger seat, and “Timothy” driving. They travelled back to Staffordshire in the early hours, leaving the M6 at around 3:30am and arriving in Cannock. Timothy decided that he needed to sleep for a while, so pulled up the car somewhere near to Cannock, Pye Green or Penkridge on a long farmer’s lane lined with trees (Ian does not know the precise location).   Aerial map of Cannock Chase Example photograph of Cannock Chase Ian remained awake with Gareth chatting. As they talked they were both looking out of the front window of the car along the lane. At around 6am in the distance, possibly over a mile away, they noticed something dark in the sky at an elevation of about 25 degrees. Ian wound down the rear driver’s side window to see if he could hear the sound of rotor blades or engines, but it was silent.   It was initially confusing as to whether the object was actually moving directly towards them or travelling directly away from their location. The morning sun was low in the sky, but didn’t seem to be reflecting off the object as you’d expect it to.   Their debate regarding the direction of travel of the object woke up Timothy. He opened one eye, looked down the road and said “It’s coming towards us.”  At this point it was about half a mile away and it was now obvious that it was travelling in their direction at a very slow speed, around 10mph.   As it slowly came closer they realised that the object was triangular shaped and did not look like a normal aircraft. They sat there open mouthed watching it approach on a straight and level course, with the front passenger window still down. Sadly none of them had cameras or smartphones.  1`When it was about 200 yards away from them Ian thought to himself “It hasn’t seen us, it doesn’t know we are here.”   They realised it was going to pass directly overhead. Ian opened the rear side door and got out in an almost trance-like state, awestruck at what was taking place. At the same moment Timothy did the same. Ian cannot remember whether Gareth got out or not.   He walked around the back of the car into the centre of the road. Timothy remained by the car, staring up at the UFO opened mouthed with his arms open by his side. At less than 100 feet away it became clear how it was constructed. Ian says that “it was strange to see an object that looked so heavy be suspended so effortlessly. There were no rotors, propellers or any outwardly visible or audible propulsion. Just a solid mass floating along at a steady pace.”   Witness drawing of the approaching craft Ian looked at the craft and particularly the front edge as it came close. There were no windows, doors, openings or even panels with rivets joining metal pieces together. It was a very dark green seemingly non reflective. But at close view it appeared to shimmer purple and gold colours, similar to two-tone paint on a car, or oil on water.   The surface appeared to have like a slightly raised webbing over it, a lattice like structure embossed on it made of hexagonal shapes. Ian says that “it looked almost like a group of cells and appeared to me to have an organic quality. Yet still retained this dense dark heavy mass feel.”   Witness drawing of the hexagonal pattern The craft now travelled directly over their heads. Ian remembers putting his hand up as if to try and touch it. It was about 20 feet above the trees lining the small road, probably around 50 to 60 feet up. It covered the full width of the road and extended past the trees slightly. Ian estimates it was about 60 feet across.   Looking directly up at it from underneath gave him the feeling of being underwater staring up at a decent sized boat passing over head. As the back came into view he saw no signs of engine or propulsion, the back face was flat and smooth eventually curving off towards the other sides like the rest of the craft. It made no attempt to change speed course or height in anyway. Once it had passed it disappeared very quickly over the trees behind as there was less open sky visible in that direction.   Ian and Timothy stumbled back into the car and the three of them sat in silence for about 5 minutes. They then tried to work out what had happened and discussed what they had just witnessed. All of them agreed that it had been a solid object and not a hallucination. Once they had composed themselves Timothy started the car. They then drove home to Rugeley in stunned silence.   Timothy dropped Ian off at his house. He tried to rest and eventually fell asleep. Once he woke back up the sighing was all he could think of. He wondered whether to report what they had seen, and if so to who.   That evening he, Timothy and Gareth met up again around another friend’s house. He brought up what had happened just to cement it as a real experience. Immediately Timothy made fun of what had taken place, saying “Oh yeah, little green men, no way!”  Ian felt that the incident was too far outside of his comfort zone so the easiest thing for him to do was bury it and make fun of what had happened. Gareth did not say anything, but appeared to still be shell-shocked by the encounter.   After this the three of them did not discuss the sighting at all with one another until 2015, where Ian went over it with Gareth, who confirmed it had taken place as he remembered.   Looking back at what happened, Ian says “This event changed my life in many ways. How do you carry on from something like this? It was so far removed from anything I had ever seen before. It left me feeling over time like a UFO nut when I explained it, or like you may have invented it in some kind of 20 minute mental health breakdown lucid group hallucination and you’re crazy. It is impossible to compute.”   Sighting Analysis   This incident represents a very impressive multiple witness close encounter with a Flying Triangle, one of the more commonly reported types of craft. I have investigated many other sightings of similar objects. They are usually jet black or navy in colouration, but I have looked into other cases where dark green triangles have also been reported. In most cases these objects hover silently. There are even cases where the similar hexagonal patterning has been made out on their surface, just as Ian describes.   In recent years he has looked into geological features of Cannock Chase. He has seen research by others hinting at the links between leylines and UFOs. He wonders whether Cannock Chase could be subject to magnetic flux variations which could induce vivid visual hallucinations. However, even if there is some truth to this, I find it extremely unlikely that these magnetic fluctuations would create exactly the same hallucination for all three witnesses. It is much more probable that this was a solid and genuine craft sighting, especially given its similarities to many other cases on record.   Ian has also experienced a previous sighting of a glowing sphere. Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Year: 2016 Last Updated: 24/09/2025   Ian Gunner is both a UFO witness, researcher and podcaster. He has had a couple of fascinating sightings. This report covers the first of these sightings. His second sighting of a Flying Triangle has been written up as a separate report (link towards the end of this one)   Sighting Details   In 1993 Ian was 15 years old. Early in the evening of a day in late summer he and his friend Lee left his house in Brereton (near to Ravenshill Primary School, which has since closed). They planned to walk Northwards to Rugeley town centre to play snooker. The sun was beginning to get low in the sky, but visibility was clear.   As they came round the corner they had a view over the estate down over Rugeley town centre about a mile away. They now noticed a light in the sky. It was about the size of a 20 pence piece held at arms length. It was at a 30-40 degrees angle from the horizon line. What caught their eyes was the fact that it seemed to be dancing around, moving up and down and left to right in a linear pattern and occasionally doing loops. It appeared to be roughly over St Augustines church, several hundred feet up.   Aerial map indicating where Ravenshill School used to be (A) and St Augustines Church (B) They both instantly asked one another “What’s that?”  They continued to watch it for about 30 seconds as they walked towards it. The road they were on bended round and was tree lined. As they approached the bend they lost sight of it briefly. They both sped up to clear the corner and get a better look at the object. When they got around the bend it was still visible and still moving strangely in the sky. By now they were becoming quite excited and intrigued by it. As they walked up a small hill the object came to a rest in the sky. It then seemed to wobble, before changing shape from a sphere to a more oval rugby ball shape. At this point the edges of the object also became more pearlescent in colour, with purple, blue and yellow colours now visible.   Photograph of St Augustines Church Then without warning the object massively increased in acceleration and silently shot off to the West in the direction of Cannock! It covered a number miles in just a couple of seconds and was lost from sight. Ian still recalls the incident clearly, and says that Lee also does. He says it is what really got him hooked on the strange, and as a result he started to attend Rugeley UFO Group.   Sighting Analysis   This is a distant yet fascinating multiple witness sighting. The incident took place decades before drones were commercially available, and the darting and turning movements it was making sound too fast to be an distant aeroplane or helicopter. If the object had not changed shape or departed in the way that it did I would have suggested that it may have been a bird caught in the evening sunlight, an inflatable brightly reflecting the sun and being buffeted around in air currents, or perhaps a radio controlled aircraft performing manoeuvres.   However, the apparent shift in shape to a rugby-ball does not fit with these explanations. And the acceleration observed at the end of the sighting seems to have been something powered and under intelligent control. I am not surprised that this sighting impressed Ian enough to get into the subject in a big way.   As mentioned Ian has also had a later impressive encounter with a triangular-shaped craft. Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Year: 2016 Last Updated: 24/09/2025   Note: For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used   In 2016 an experiencer from Birmingham who I shall call “Jacob” got in touch with BUFOG via phone to discuss a number of experiences he recollected from his past. This report documents the information passed on in that phone call and my thoughts on the events. Unfortunately, after this call he did not keep in touch so details in some regards are limited.   Abduction Return?   At 8 years old Jacob recalls an unusual incident which happened one night. He remembers waking up in the process of being placed back into her bed by a figure. He felt like he had been somewhere he could not remember. The figure holding him appeared to be wearing a yellow-coloured cardigan. His mother used to own a cardigan like this but had thrown it away several years before this incident took place. Jacob felt that the figure was trying to put on the appearance of his mother. However, he did not feel threatened by the situation.   After he was placed back on the bed he fully woke up and found nobody was there in the room. He lay there a while before dropping back off to sleep. In the morning he asked his mother whether she had lifted him out of the bed during the night. His mother said she had no recollection of doing so.   While this could have just been down to a vivid dream based on memories of his mother wearing the cardigan on previous years, there is the possibility that Jacob had been abducted and this was a being, and its appearance was down to what is known as a screen memory.   Hairy Being Visitation   Another incident occurred in 1989. He awoke during the night to find a strange being standing alongside the bed. It was 4-5 feet in height and had a stocky build. It was brown coloured and hairy, with very large eyes and a protruding snout-like nose. It was wearing a cloak which covered it’s shoulders but was parted from its chest downwards.   The being reminded him of Alf, the alien from the American comedy sitcom series which was on TV back in the late 1980s, although it was just reminiscent, not exactly the same.   Photograph of Alf Jacob does not recall what happened next after seeing the being standing there by the bed. This is his only memory of the encounter.   While I have dealt with a few other cases of hair-covered beings, they are quite rare. If this was a visitation experience there is the possibility that, just like his previous encounter, the being’s appearance was down to a screen memory, which caused it to appear similar to something he was familiar to off TV at the time.   Paralysed   Between 2001-2002 Jacob had numerous frightening experiences where he woke up during the night to find he could not move. He tried screaming out but no sound came out so nobody came to help. He could feel something pressing down on his chest and moving around, and could hear it laughing at him.   On these occasions Jacob says that afterwards his pet dogs would act in an erratic manner like they were agitated. Usually he would just lie there in this state for a while and would then eventually drop off. On one occasion he managed to break out of the paralysis and everything immediately went away.   The symptoms Jacob describes here have been reported many times before with sleep paralysis, the sleep related disorder which people sometimes suffer from. During sleep paralysis people often report feeling something pushing down on their chest, feeling the sense of something evil or hearing strange sounds. It is very probable that this is what was taking place on these occasions rather than anything contact related.   Vibrations   Jacob says that around this time he also felt low frequency sounds which shook his house. He claims that this occurred quite frequently in both the afternoon and after dark. He was unaware of any machinery in the vicinity of his property which could have been responsible for the noises.   While these noises do sound unusual there’s numerous potential mundane explanations for them. Perhaps there was some electrical machinery in a nearby building which he was unaware of. Perhaps the sounds were being made by his own house’s central heating, electricity or water system. The fact that they occurred regularly and were not directly linked to anything else unusual going on suggests that they probably had a mundane explanation.   Orange Orbs   In 2016 Jacob had a couple of sightings of a glowing orange coloured orb. When he initially spotted it he was shocked. The object was initially stationary in the sky. It then moved to the left before halting again. He walked to his left and as he did the object began moving left again matching his movements. He walked back to the right and it too moved back to the right. The fact that it appeared to be mimicking his movements panicked him.   On a Sunday a number of weeks before Jacob reached out to BUFOG he saw another very similar looking object. He wonders whether it was the same object as before making a return appearance. The following day he noticed a tall man in a grey suit standing and staring up at the sky. The man appeared to be in his mid-50s and had grey hair. Nobody else seemed to be paying any attention to him. Jacob wondered if the man was related to what he had seen the previous night.   While the movements of the first orb were intriguing it is possible that it, and the later sighting were something mundane, such as sky lanterns or other lit inflatables. The movement patterns observed could have just been coincidental and the object drifting around in air currents. Jacob did not describe how either of the objects left the vicinity. The man that he saw could have just been a civilian and nothing to do with the second sighting, it was after all many hours later that he was witnessed.   Conclusions   Jacob has had some intriguing experiences. While the later incidents could certainly have mundane explanations, some of his childhood experiences are more interesting and could possibly suggest that he has experienced contact.   Copyright Dave Hodrien 2025

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 01/09/2016 Last Updated: 23/09/2025 For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used for some witnesses Sighting Details Early on the evening of Sunday 28th August 2016, UFO & Paranormal Investigator and podcaster Nathan Lockley, his wife Luna Lockley, Luna's mother Bernadette, step-father "Alan", and his three children were all out in the back garden of Luna & Nath’s house on Barnwood Road in Quinton, Birmingham. The weather was still but quite cloudy. It had been raining but now there were patches of blue sky beginning to appear. At around 5.30pm a storm cloud passed overhead. Luna and Nathan are both interested in weather, so were looking up at it. Aerial map of Barnwood Road: They suddenly noticed an object in the distance to the South West coming from behind the tree line at the base of the garden. It was slowly moving across the sky to the South East in the direction of the block of flats on Welshhouse Farm Road. The object appeared to be metallic in colour and reflecting the light, and spherical in shape. There were no visible markings on it at all. It was below the low lying cloud, and looked to be between 500-1000 feet high. Judging by the estimated height, it appeared about the same size as the main body of a helicopter. The UFO travelled on a straight and level course. However after watching it for a few minutes it suddenly came to a halt in the sky. It remained motionless for about a minute before continuing. It stopped a second time when it was further away. At several moments it seemed to blend into the cloudy sky and was harder to spot but would then reappear. After watching and puzzling over it for a while Alan took out his Samsung mobile phone and began to film the object. Nathan informed me that he and Luna would have filmed it too, but his was broken and Luna's had unfortunately ran out of batteries at the time. In total the witnesses watched it for about 10 minutes. Due to the length of time it was visible for, it appeared to be moving quite slowly, perhaps 30 mph. They were convinced that the object was not a conventional aircraft of any kind, and that it was under intelligent control as opposed to randomly drifting in the sky. Video Analysis Below is the video which Alan shot on his phone. He removed the sound as the children were being loud in the background during the sighting: As you can see the UFO is clearly a solid object moving across the sky. It appears to be highly reflective and spherical/circular in shape, exactly how the witnesses described it. Alan says that it looked more impressive to the naked eye. Unfortunately due to the distance of the object not much detail can be made out. This has the unfortunate side effect of pixilation of the image. The still frame analysis does not really shed any further light on what the object may or may not be. Bernadette’s Testimony I spoke with Bernadette via BUFOG’s Facebook page and she agreed to write up a statement of what she remembered seeing, which she sent to me soon after: “On the 28th of August my family and I saw what can only be described as a UFO, my daughter and son-in-law were around for dinner with their children, it was a Sunday. At about 5.30pm I went outside for a cigarette and noticed it looked like it was going to rain. My daughter is very into meteorology, so asked her to come out and look at the clouds, they were dark on one side, but blue skies on the other, so thought best to get washing in anyway. I was looking up at the sky after getting the washing in, and I saw a black object. I was unsure as to what it was, and said to my daughter, excuse language, “What the fuck is that?” She replied by saying it looks like a bird of prey. We carried on looking, and my son came out and said it could be a black bag as it was shiny. It was not windy that day, and was way too far up to be something like that. When I looked closer it looked white on one side but, thinking about it, it was most likely the sun shadowing it. It was above the trees in my garden when we first saw it, the trees are between 20 and 30 feet, and it was cloud level. It got smaller and smaller as it was moving higher and away towards Bartley Green way. I live just off Welsh House Farm Road, Quinton. Alan started filming it while we observed it moving away. Between two tower blocks it seem to stop moving, it was as though it noticed we were looking at it and that Alan was filming it. It was a bit scary I might add. It then got smaller and smaller until it finally disappeared. This was about 6pm at this point, Alan did not start filming it straight away as he was confused as to what it could be. Alan went and got his glasses so he could see it better, and then went on to filming it. It seems to go into different movements, going back and forth, as you can see in the footage. Alan checked radar to see if there was any planes etc so to be ruled out, saying that a plane does not move that way, nor does it go up and down. We could not hear anything either. There is no way it was a satellite, plane, drone etc. When you watch the footage try and see if an explanation can be found, I do not think there is an explanation, only that it is most definitely a UFO.” Sighting Analysis This is an intriguing sighting, and it is great that one of the witnesses managed to film the object. It is clear that the object is not a normal aircraft or helicopter of any kind. Even at a distance it would be possible to make out the rough shape and perhaps navigation lights. From the video it seems that the object is reflective rather than glowing, so this rules out ball lightning as an explanation. The most probable mundane explanation is that the object was a novelty silver-coloured inflatable. While the witnesses found the way it stopped on two occasions for a period of time to be indicative of intelligence, this may not actually be the case. As the object was moving quite slowly it is possible that it was drifting on air currents which temporarily stopped in places before continuing. The object did not perform any right angle turns or sudden bursts of speed, so this possibility cannot be disregarded. However the possibility remains that it may be a craft of some kind. Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Year: 2016 Last Updated: 23/09/2025   Pete got in touch with me towards the start of 2016 to discuss numerous contact experiences via phone. This report covers what was discussed in depth.   Disembodied Hands   Pete spent his early childhood living in a house on Plymouth Terrace, Merthyr Tydfil with his mother, aunt and grandparents.   Aerial map of Plymouth Terrace One late evening he went upstairs. The door to his aunt’s bedroom happened to be open giving him a view into the room. Inside the room was a chest of drawers. Pete immediately saw what appeared to be some white coloured disembodied hands floating near the top of the furniture. He froze on the spot with fear staring at them.   For a moment the hands appeared to be rearranging something, but then faded away. He backed away along the landing and ran back downstairs. Pete cannot remember whether he told anyone about what he had seen.   While this may have nothing to do with his later experiences, it should be noted that many experiencers of contact also report witnessing paranormal incidents, such as visual apparitions, in their vicinity.   Visitation Flashback   By the age of 7 Pete and his family had moved to 106 Aneurin Crescent in Twynyrodyn. It was around this time that he had a flashback to an incident which had seemingly occurred several years previously at the previous house.   Aerial map of Aneurin Crescent idicating the house the witness used to live at Photograph of the front of the house  It was evening time and he was in the living room after coming home from school. The TV was on at the time and his mother and grandparents were also in the room. He has no idea why the memory suddenly came back to him, but it was extremely clear and vivid. Pete says that it was “very very overpowering it was so real!”   He recalled that it was daytime. His mother and grandfather were at work but his grandmother Lillian was there looking after him. He believes he was 3-4 years old. He remembered seeing Lillian terrified and hiding behind the sofa in the living room. He was trying to get there to but suddenly found himself standing in front of a figure which had appeared in the room. He was paralyzed in a standing up position and extremely frightened.   The being was around 7 to 8 feet in height. It had muscular arms and large round eyes like a fish, which were white with a black pupil. The eyes seemed dead and soul-less. It appeared to have frills down the sides of its neck. He could not recall the exact colour of its skin but knows that it was a dark colour. It was clothed and wearing a mesh-like body suit. He cannot remember what its hands and feet looked like or whether they were exposed.   He also sensed that there was something outside the back of the house hovering in the air, something that wanted to take him away, although he had no actual sight or recollection of this.   Lillian had clearly never mentioned the incident to him. He wondered if the memories of it had been wiped from her mind. After experiencing the flashback he did not ask her about it, or tell anyone else what had occurred. Sadly she has now passed away so I am unable to speak with her directly about the incident.   Looking back at the incident Pete has noted that the being he remembered seeing was quite reminiscent of the Sea Devils, an aquatic species from the 9 th  season of Doctor Who. He believes he had seen this around this time so wonders what he recalled was a vivid daymare rather than a flashback to an actual experience.   Photograph of the Sea Devils from Doctor Who: It is great that Pete has suggested possible mundane explanations for this incident instead of immediately considering it to be a contact experience. This could indeed be what took place. However there are numerous aspects which do fit in with a visitation. He recalls being paralyzed at the time, which often occurs during contact. There is also the fact that he sensed something was waiting in the air for him outside of the property, perhaps a craft which this being had emerged from.   Regarding the appearance of the being, it is entirely possible that this was a screen memory. This is where entities mask their true shape, often appearing as something familiar to the experiencer. It is possible that it took on the appearance of a Sea Devil, hence why Pete recollected it in this way. Another possibility is that it was a Reptilian being, and just reminded Pete of a Sea Devil.   Spirit Visions   In his adult life Pete used to work at a local factory. He was friendly with one of his work colleagues named Roland. He had black combed back short hair and a moustache. Sadly he had cancer and was very ill indeed.   Pete had gone on holiday to Benidorm with his wife and other friends. Early one morning he headed out for a stroll down to the sea by himself. Near the sea front he noticed Roland sitting on a bench! He approached him, thinking to himself “What are you doing here?”  At that moment his face changed into the face of another unknown man. Pete did not speak with the other man, just continued his walk, puzzled by what he had just seen.   The following day Pete and his wife were walking through a local shopping mall. There was a family walking towards them. Pete suddenly noticed that Roland was walking with them. Once again as he started at him, the face changed and he realised it was someone else. Pete informed his wife about had just happened, and about the incident on the previous morning.   After leaving the mall they had to use a bus to get back to the hotel. The bus dropped them off at the sea front, close to where Pete had been the previous day. Once again someone was sitting on the same bench, and once again when he looked the face looked like Roland. He said to his wife “I can’t believe it! It’s happening again!”   When they got back to the hotel room Pete checked his mobile phone, which he had left in the room. His phone was full of messages from friends back in Wales informing him that Roland had passed away.   Pete’s mother believed in sixth sense abilities and was interested in mediumship. Soon after the Benidorm holiday she had arranged to have a reading by a medium around the house. After her reading Pete’s wife decided to have a reading too. After her reading she informed Pete that the medium had mentioned the incidents in Benidorm, that he had thought he had seen his friend that had passed away, and that he should trust his instincts. His wife also informed him of other things that had happened with Roland at work which she could not possibly have known.   Pete was convinced that aside from his wife and a couple of friends he had not mentioned the Benidorm incidents with anyone else. He says that the medium was a stranger who did not live in the local area, so was fascinated that she had somehow known about what took place.   While it is possible that the medium had somehow found out about what happened and was just relaying this, the incidents themselves are far harder to explain, especially considering the fact the same thing occurred three on three separate occasions. Could this be another sign of sixth sense abilities which Pete possesses, perhaps indirectly linked with contact?   Precognition   In 2011 Pete got a new job working for the NHS performing night sitting duties looking after patients. On 11 th  March he was around a patient’s house watching TV to pass the time and keep himself away.   Suddenly, out of the blue, he began to see the word “earthquake” in his mind over and over with the outline of what looked like an aerial view of the coast of a mainland and a smaller island. The shape of the island reminded him of Sicily. He thought to himself “Oh my god, there’s going to be an earthquake in Sicily!”  He was overwhelmed with emotion, the vision was extremely powerful and clear.   Aerial map of Sicily  He wanted to text his wife to tell her about what had just occurred but he only had his work mobile phone on him and didn’t know his wife’s phone number off by heart.   Pete put BBC News 24 on, convinced that something was going to take place. A couple of hours went by with no incident. But then suddenly there was an announcement stating that a massive earthquake and tsunami had occurred in Japan. At this point Pete realised that the island he had seen was Japan not Sicily! Over the following hours he avidly watched updates about the situation, convinced that he had had a precognitive vision of the disaster.   Aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami He got back home from his night shift at 8am, and continued to watch the news on BBC and Sky. In these later reports a map was shown displaying where the epicentre of the earthquake had been. He realised that this map was the same shape as what he had seen in his mind, but the other way up.   Map of Japan showing the epicentre of the 2011 earthquake It is common for experiencers to seemingly possess one or more psychic abilities, which often manifest as precognitive visions or premonitions, so it does not surprise me at all to learn that Pete has experienced this.   Information Downloads   In his late 30s to early 40s Pete has had several similar experiences in which he believes he has been given information telepathically.   The first time it occurred he was sitting down in front of the television after work and feeling really tired. He was just dropping off to sleep when he suddenly felt like he was receiving a massive amount of information directly into his mind. It only lasted a couple of seconds before he snapped out of it. Immediately the feeling disappeared. He could not recollect exactly what information he had received.   Over the next few years there were at least two other occasions where exactly the same thing occurred. Every time it happened he was in a state of semi-sleep. While these incidents could possibly be put down to a sleep-related disorder, it is possible that these were what is commonly referred to as “information downloads”, where experiencers seem to receive large amounts of telepathic information, often too fast to specifically recollect afterwards.   Oval UFO Sighting   By 2014 at the age of 42 Pete and his wife had moved to Pant. In late December 2014 just before Christmas he was walking home from his aunt’s house along Pant Road around 7pm. Due to the time of year it was fully dark. The weather was dry but cold. There were no other pedestrians around.   Aerial map of Pant Road As he walked North along the road he looked up into the sky in the direction of the Brecon Beacons to see if he could see the moon. In the sky over the mountains in the distance visible above the rooves of the buildings he did see something large, white and glowing, but not what he expected to see.   In the sky was a very large glowing oval-shaped object, about half the size of the moon. It was at quite high altitude like a passenger jet, although this was hard to gauge accurately. It was already silently moving extremely fast on a vertical ascent.   Photograph of Pant Road in the direction the UFO was seen The object was only visible for a second before it was lost from sight. Pete was astounded at what he had just witnessed. Once he arrived home he immediately phoned his aunt, then his wife and mother, and informed them all about the sighting. He did not check the media to see if anyone else had reported seeing it.   Conclusions   Pete has had some interesting and varied experiences which may well indicate that he has experienced contact. The flashback memory of the “Sea Devil” could well be a visitation experience, with the being recollected in this manner because of a screen memory. If so, then the other paranormal and psychic experiences he has mentioned could well be related to this, either indirectly or directly. The sighting of the UFO he experienced in 2014 was so distant that it is unlikely to be linked, and he was probably just in the right place at the right time to witness this.   Copyright Dave Hodrien 2025

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Year: 2016 Last Updated: 18/09/2025   Chris is a man from Wigan. In his teenage years he experienced a number of incidents which involved contact with non-human beings. This report covers these events in detail based on conversations I had with him after he got in touch with BUFOG.   Glowing Humanoid   Chris’s first contact experience occurred between 2010-2012 when he was either 14 or 15 years old. At the time he was living with his parents in a bungalow on Sefton Road, Aston-in-Makerfield, Wigan. It got to 10pm and he decided to head up to his bedroom to watch a movie on his laptop. He switched the bedroom light on, plugged in the laptop, then exited the room to go to the bathroom. When he re-entered the bedroom he was shocked to see a glowing female humanoid figure standing in front of him in the middle of the room.   Witness drawing of the layout of his bedroom indicating where the being was standing The light coming from her was warm and radiant. It was too bright to see any features clearly, but she appeared to have long hair. She was standing still with her arms down by her sides. Due to the brightness of the light emanating from her, the normal bedroom light appeared dim in comparison.   Witness drawing of the glowing being At the time Chris was religious and he wondered if the being was an angel or demon. As he stared at her he felt that time had either slowed down or entirely stopped. There was an un-natural stillness in the air. A mix of emotions surged through his mind. He was shocked, but also amazed at what was taking place.   He then heard the being speak to him telepathically. The voice sounded feminine, friendly, slow and gentle. It was a little high pitched and the accent sounded like a mix of Welsh and Scottish. The first thing she said to him was “Chris I’m not here to harm you.”   Chris was frightened by the presence of the being. He stepped backwards out onto the landing and closed his bedroom door to block the sight of it. But the voice inside his mind continued, saying “Everything’s going to be alright. I need to tell something very important to you, your family and the world.”   Despite the assurance by the being that it meant him no harm, he was concerned by the telepathic communication going on. He thought to himself that maybe it would work both ways, so in his mind asked the being to leave. At this moment the voice immediately ceased, and over the next two minutes a sense of calmness and warmth came over him.   He re-entered the bedroom to find that the being had disappeared. He was uneasy but remained in the room and did not call his parents to tell them what had just happened. He decided to use his laptop to look online to try and find a rational explanation for what had just taken place. When he googled “light beings” lots of contact cases involving glowing entities came up. He was astounded that many other people had reported the same thing he had seen.   When he checked the floor of his bedroom he found some scratches where the being had been standing. He wondered if it had made these, although felt that they may have been caused when moving furniture into his room.   In the months following the incident Chris wondered whether it had been a hallucination and had just been in his mind. The lack of knowing and confusion about what had truly taken place began to dwell on him and unfortunately lead to depression.   In early 2016 he decided to contact the UK branch of the Mutual UFO Network to report the experience. He spoke with someone about it on Skype, and they said they would look into it, but after this point he never heard back from them.   This incident has all the hallmarks of a visitation by a humanoid/Nordic being. I have dealt with many other cases where these beings have suddenly appeared in the vicinity of people, and also many where they have glowed with an internal light, as Chris found out himself online. The telepathic communication is also a common aspect of these experiences. It is a shame (though understandable) that Chris got frightened and did not give the being a chance to give him the entire message it clearly wanted to convey.   Window Markings   Another experience happened soon after the glowing being visitation. He awoke at 3:20am with a strong headache. He would often go off to sleep with the bedroom television on. When he checked it he found that Sky News was on. He watched it for about 13 minutes before lying back down to try and get off to sleep.   Suddenly he began to hear strange sounds coming from behind the closed bedroom door. They sounded both robotic and animal-like, with growling, hissing and scratching. Upon hearing the sounds Chris became very anxious and frightened.   He decided to put on some music to block out any other sounds coming from outside the room. But he was now too on edge, and despite trying to settle back down to sleep he remained awake for the rest of the night.   The following day he was in the front room when he noticed a shape near the base of the glass in the window which looked like two fingers pointing downwards. The markings were larger than human adult fingers, really wide at the base with pointed ends. Underneath these was some other lines which reminded Chris of a curved stone bridge over a canal. Unfortunately Chris did not take a photograph.   He checked the markings more closely and found that they were on the outside of the glass. When he tried to wipe off the markings he discovered that they were permanent, like they had been imprinted onto the glass. He was quite frightened of what could have made the markings and his heart was beating fast.   Once he had calmed down Chris contacted his friend Aaron, who suggested that the sounds may have been an auditory hallucination. Aaron came over the house and confirmed that he too could see the markings on the window. After a couple of days these markings slowly vanished.   It is hard to say whether the markings Chris found were related to the sounds he had heard or not. It appears that whatever was making the sounds was just outside of the bedroom door, whereas the markings were found on the outside of the window, so whatever made them would have been outside the property. There is also not much evidence to suggest that they were caused by fingers touching the glass, they were just a little reminiscent of this.   Flying Triangle   On a night in October of either 2010 or 2011 Chris was watching UFO documentaries in his bedroom. He began to hear a low humming sound coming from outside of the house. Over 5 minutes it began to get louder like it was coming closer. He did not look out of the window and just assumed it was an aeroplane or helicopter. However, the following two nights he heard the same sound at around the same time.   The next night at around 2am Chris was in the front room of the house relaxing and watching TV. His father had gone to sleep, and his mother was in her bedroom using the computer with headphones on.   Again he heard the humming sound, this time coming from near the front of the house. Mystified by the repeating noise he decided at last to go and have a look to see if he could spot where it was coming from.   Chris walked over to the living room window and checked outside. It was a mostly clear sky with only patchy cloud hiding the stars. On the opposite side of the road was a row of council houses. In the sky visible beyond the house directly in front of him was a triangular shaped object, roughly 20 feet across.   Photograph of the council houses opposite the bungalows on Sefton Road It appeared to be a structured craft. It was clear that the humming sound was emanating from this craft. There was enough light from the moon and local street lighting to see that it was metallic dark grey in colour. It was hovering at quite low altitude, only a short distance over the rooves of the nearby housing.   From the base of the craft he could see thin red coloured beams of light flashing on and off and moving around like they were looking for something. At any one time there was between 1 to 3 of these beams visible.   Initially the craft was moving from right to left on an Eastward path at slow speed. But then it performed a turn to the North and began to move directly towards him. He could now make out long thin windows near the front point going back along each visible side. The windows were glowing white and in them he could see the silhouettes of multiple humanoid figures. He also noted that along each of the sides were vertical lines which reminded him of Volkswagen exterior air vents.   Witness drawing of the front of the triangular craft  As the craft approached, he looked up at one of the silhouettes of the beings in the windows. The being moved its head like it was observing him. At this point he wanted to grab his mobile phone in order to record the craft on video, but when he tried to move he found that he was paralyzed. At the same time he could feel an intense warmth and love inside him.   He looked up at the underside of the craft. In the middle of it was a dark orange coloured spherical light which was pulsating different colours and appeared to be expanding and contracting. At each corner of the UFO was a small white coloured light.   Witness drawing of the underside of the craft  The craft hovered close to the front of the house for around 5 minutes. During this period, time seemed to be running really slowly, similar to when he had seen the glowing being. Chris could do nothing besides continue to stare at it through the window.   Suddenly without warning it turned 90 degrees till it was facing East again. It moved a short distance, then turned to the South South East. After this there was a bright white flash. The craft massively increased in acceleration and flew away on a level and straight course. As it went he felt a burning sensation on his skin.   Witness drawing of the rear of the craft Once the craft had departed he found he could move once again. When he reached up and touched his face he realised there were tears on his cheek. The burning sensation remained for about 2 minutes before dissipating. He felt sick and confused about what had take place. He does not really remember what happened next, he feels that he must have headed up to bed.   The following day he was frustrated that he had experienced this close encounter but was unable to get a photograph or video of it. He felt a little sad about not having any evidence to back up the incident, and for this reason did not tell his parents about it. He did not tell anyone about what had happened for fear of ridicule. However, he did look into triangular UFO sightings online, and even spoke with other witnesses in the weeks following the incident.   Chris claims to have a mark on his cheek which he wonders was caused by the encounter. However, he has also considered that it may be a scar from when he had chicken pox. Unfortunately, Chris has not yet sent me any photographs of the marking to analyse.   This is a stunning sighting of a Flying Triangle, one of the more commonly reported types of craft. Although he did not clearly see the occupants it is likely that they were humanoid beings similar to the one he had seen previously in his room, and that this was non-human in origin. I have investigated many other sightings of craft of this type with extremely similar lighting and manoeuvring capabilities.   Even though it looked like it was searching for something in the local area, it is likely that it was there for him. The beings were certainly aware of his presence, although did not appear to make direct contact with him on this occasion.   Grey Encounter   Within weeks of the Flying Triangle sighting Chris experienced another visitation. He was intrigued by the experiences he’d been having and wanted to welcome communication despite continuing to feel uneasy. At the time he was looking into mediation and how this could potentially open his mind to further experiences.   One evening at around 9:30pm he was relaxing on his bed and listening to a mediation video on YouTube. He had propped himself up on a pillow for this and left the bedroom light on.   After meditating for half an hour he began to feel a dark presence in the room, and also feel cold. He peered around the room wondering what was going on. He then checked the window to ensure it was closed. He confirmed that it was.   Looking outside he suddenly noticed a silhouette of something moving near the bottom of the window. Suddenly the neighbour’s security light came on, immediately lighting up the face of a Grey peering in the window! Its head was a little larger than a human adult. It had large black almond-shaped eyes, a flattened nose with two small oval-shaped nostrils. The mouth was not very distinguished. If it was standing on the ground this means it was over 6 feet in height.   Chris glanced down and noticed that the being was unclothed. The security light was reflecting brightly off the being’s collar bone. He sat still, staring at the entity for about 5 minutes.   As he observed the Grey time seemed to slow down. He looked down at a digital clock displayed on his laptop. The second hand on the clock seemed to be moving slower than it should have been. He thought to himself that something must be going wrong with the laptop.   Confused and overwhelmed by the encounter Chris decided to run out of the room and into the front room of the bungalow. At this point everything seemed to return to normal. He remained there sitting on the couch for a long while trying to process what had just happened. His parents were in the living room watching TV at the time. Chris did not go and tell them what he’d witnessed as he thought they would think he was mad and get him to see a psychiatrist.   After about half an hour he plucked up the courage to re-enter the bedroom. Without looking outside, he quickly closed the blind and curtains, before settling down to sleep.   In the morning he woke up around 10am. He had a bad headache, and time felt somehow odd. Initially he had no idea what date or time it was. Looking down at his pillow he noticed some dried droplets of blood on it. He wondered if he had suffered from a nose bleed during the night. He had read online about the connection between nose bleeds and contact, so decided to take some photographs of the blood spots:   Later in the day he told a friend who lived nearby about what had happened. When he did, his friend stated that he’d witnessed a military helicopter seemingly chasing a red-orange ball of light over the street at around 8am before Chris had woken up. He claimed that the helicopter was a Chinook two rotor blades on top so knew it was not a normal civilian or police helicopter. It was moving along the street in a Westerly direction.   Example photograph of a Chinook helicopter with twin rotor blades This is another clear example of a visitation. Greys are often reported to peer at people through windows or around open doorways. It’s interesting that this and previous incidents Chris noted time seemingly moving slower than normal, a side effect sometimes observed with contact.   It is unknown whether the Chinook chasing the orb along the road was directly linked with the being Chris saw or not. They occurred hours apart from one another, so may not necessarily be linked. There is also the possibility that his friend fabricated the story after hearing about Chris’s being sighting, or that the orb was a balloon catching the morning sunlight, and the helicopter was on its way to an air show or on a military exercise.   Diamond UFO   On a weekend a couple of months later Chris was watching TV in the front room during around 2-3pm. Something suddenly caught the corner of his eye visible through the upper left of the window in the sky to the South West. Outside it was a clear and relatively still day.   He grabbed his father’s pair of binoculars and tried to look at the object through the window. He could not see it clearly enough so went outside onto the front lawn to get a better look. When he checked again he could see that the object was diamond-shaped, hovering in a stationary position in the sky but rotating anti-clockwise. It was at quite high altitude, at least a few thousand feet up. It appeared to be metallic dark grey in colour and the sunlight was reflecting off its surface. Chris estimates that it was a bit larger than a normal helicopter, perhaps 40 feet across.   He initially wondered if the object was a novelty balloon of some kind, but it looked too angular to be a balloon and did not appear to be drifting at all despite rotating. He stared at it for up to 6 minutes. Unfortunately, he did not have his mobile phone on him at the time, and did not know where it was, so could not get any photographs or video footage of the object.   After this time the object appeared to slowly stop rotating and then start to ascend. As it moved it began increasing in speed. It then flashed bright white twice, potentially catching the suns rays. Then it tilted a little, before shooting away at an extremely rapid speed at a sharp angle! Chris stood there in awe at what had just occurred.   After a couple of days he began to get a bit emotional thinking about this sighting and his previous experiences. But he continued to decide to keep things from his parents as he thought they would not believe him.   The appearance of this object certainly sounds like it could have been a novelty balloon. However the manoeuvres it performed when it left the area sound far too rapid and controlled to have been this. Even if the object had been suddenly caught in a strong air current it would have taken a while to move away out of sight.   Light, Phone Call & Flashbacks   One night later in the year after chatting with someone on Skype Chris decided to settle down to sleep around midnight. He turned the bedroom light and the laptop off and got into bed.   Suddenly a bright white light came on outside, flooding in through the window. It seemed much brighter than the neighbour’s security light. At the same moment he felt a buzzing sensation. He was too afraid to look outside and try and spot the source of the light. Instead he forced his eyes shut and eventually dropped off to sleep.   Chris awoke in the morning to the sound of his mobile phone going off. He felt more lethargic than usual. He answered the phone. He could hear strange sounds on the other end of the line. It sounded like the humming of static with odd sounds similar to talking that were screechy and garbled. He listened to the sounds for several minutes before hanging up.   In the following days he began to experience what he interpreted as a flashback on repeated occasions. In this flashback he was levitated off the bed during the night, then floated through the bungalow into the living room. He then passed through the closed patio door. In the back garden was a landed domed disc-shaped craft. This craft had multi-coloured lights around its central rim, and a bright light coming from the top of the central dome.   Over the next few months Chris began to get this flashback at least once a day. It would occur at random rather than being triggered by anything in particular. Chris felt like it was his subconscious trying to tell him something. Eventually the flashbacks seemed to cease.   This is an intriguing series of events. There is the possibility that the white light was from a waiting craft outside of the house. That said there is also the chance that it was coming from something else like a large ground vehicle or helicopter, although surely if this were the case he would have heard the rotor blades/engine? Also this would not explain the buzzing sensation he felt at the time.   The phone call Chris received in the morning may not have had anything to do with the light or the  flashback he experienced, and could have just been caused by a temporary bad connection.   Repeated Sightings   In the autumn on most evenings between 8-9pm Chris would walk home from his girlfriend’s house near the train station along Wigan Road. The journey would take him about 15 minutes.   Aerial map of Wigan Road One very clear evening he looked up at an elevation of 70 degrees and noticed a rectangular shaped object in the sky. It was black in colour with smooth edges. At each of the corners on the base there was an unusual looking orange-red coloured light. The UFO appeared to be a short distance ahead of him, and a couple of thousand feet up.   He continued walking along the road and noted that the object seemed to be following along with him, keeping the same distance ahead of his position. When he got to his front door it suddenly flashed brightly and disappeared!   Chris claims that this was not an individual incident. He says that over the next fortnight the craft would return and always seem to follow him back home. If so then this means it was clearly there for him and monitoring him regularly in some way. This behaviour is highly unusual, as the majority of UFO sightings are individual or occur a couple of times at most.   Chris says that he had his mobile phone on him on some of these occasions, but never thought to attempt to photograph the craft. He says that he was too awestruck at the time, especially when it reappeared over numerous days. Whenever it appeared he had lots of positive thoughts in his head and felt like it was communicating emotions on a telepathic level with him.   Conclusions   Chris has had numerous varied and fascinating experiences which clearly have links with contact. They seem to have occurred in close proximity to one another over a single year. It is unknown whether he has had any further incidents take place in more recent years. It is good to get these experiences down on record. Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 19/07/2016 Last Updated: 15/09/2025 Childhood Dreams Ever since she can remember Clari has felt different to most people. She remembers that everything felt quite dream-like, and that she felt she had come from somewhere else rather than been born into a new life. She believes that she felt more sensitively towards things and looked into them on a deeper level than other children. When she was around 5 years old she began to have a recurring nightmare about a strange being. This figure was a thin human-shaped silver coloured robot with a spherical or pyramid-shaped nose. In the dreams it would follow her around and drain the blood out of other people. She dreamt of this being roughly once a week for a period of about 2 years. The details of the dreams would change but the being would always look the same when it appeared. As it approached her the being sometimes communicated with her in a high pitched voice. On one occasion she remembers it saying “Naughty naughty!” to her, but she cannot recall what it said on other occasions. She nicknamed this being the “Zegazord” . When it got close she would usually attempt to run away from it. Sometimes she would be so frightened she would wake up in the dark. She does not remember calling out for her parents, but certainly discussed the dreams with them and her friends numerous times. While this could well have just been nothing more than nightmares, there is the possibility of it being linked with early contact experiences. There is a link to some of her later experiences which I will go into later in this report. Grey Visitations By the time Clari was 11-12 years old she and her family had moved to a house on Inchgarth Road in the suburbs of Aberdeen, close to Inchgarth Reservoir. Aerial map of Inchgarth Road Around this time she began to experience regular visitations by a number of Grey beings. Typically she would awake during the night with an intense feeling of a presence in the room. She was on a bed alongside one of the walls. Looking across the room she would see a group of at least three Greys, sometimes up to seven of them. They would usually stand in a circle, as opposed to being in a straight line. During these experiences Clari would be unable to move. On most occasions she found herself lying on her back. She could look around but not move her body. Due to the fact that the curtain in her room did not close properly there was enough light coming in from outside to make out details. The beings were always slightly shorter than adult height, about 5 feet, and unclothed. They had pale grey coloured smooth skin and a thin skeletal frame. Their heads looked over-sized, with large black almond-shaped eyes, small nose and slit-like mouth. When she saw the beings she was terrified but also in a trance-like state so never shouted out for her parents. When I asked her about her emotions during these experiences Clari said the following: “Fear was the main emotion, but it wasn’t like a normal kind of fear, it was like an alien kind of fear that we cannot experience in this conscious normal waking reality.” On a number of occasions Clari feels the beings spoke with her elepathically. She could not understand the language which was being used, but it was high pitched, similar to the voice of the Zegazord from her early dreams. After these encounters she believes she would drop back off to sleep, but cannot remember doing so. There are a few incidents which she remembers more clearly. On one occasion the beings appeared to put a vibrational wave through her body. It felt like her organs were sinking into themselves as it passed through her. It was a strong sensation, but not a pleasurable one. On another night, after the beings appeared near to the bed Clari began to levitate upwards off the bed. She was then moved across the room in a lying down position, and through the open bedroom door out onto the landing, which was partially lit. She is unsure if the beings accompanied her during this. As this took place there were vibrations passing through her though not as strong as the wave she had previously experienced. She was focused on these sensations more than what the beings were doing. Once she was out on the landing she blacked out and could not remember anything else. She had experiences with these beings at least once a week for a period of up to 6 months, after which they stopped abruptly. She was of course frightened to go to bed during this time, but her parents thought she just had an active imagination so would calm her down by assuring her she was just dreaming. However Clari was convinced otherwise. These encounters were far more real and vivid than how normal dreams would feel. Many of the aspects which Clari describes here would fit in with sleep paralysis experiences as opposed to contact. During sleep paralysis it is possible to sense a presence in the room, hear strange noises or see figures. However the beings which Clari describes here are clearly Greys, a fact she became aware of later in her life after looking into the UFO subject. There is also the occasion in which she was floated from her room to elsewhere in the house. Was she abducted on this occasion, and perhaps others, but had the experiences blanked from her mind? This is entirely a possibility and one which should not be overlooked. Psychic Abilities Another sign that these experiences were contact-related was the fact that around the same time of her life Clari remembers a number of incidents where she appeared to demonstrate psychic abilities. She felt at the time that these beings she was encountering were granting her these abilities, and so decided to test this theory by attempting to control random events. On one occasion at school the teacher pulled out of a hat to determine reading order. Clari began to think about which names would be pulled out next and she found she was right again and again. This could just be put down to random chance, however this was not the only time this happened. On a different day she was playing a snakes-and-ladders-esque board game. Whenever she rolled the dice she attempted to force it to land on high numbers with her mind. She kept rolling 5s and 6s and won the game. Clari believes that this was at least partially down to what she was attempting to do at the time. While these are certainly not conclusive examples, contactees often report possessing one or more psychic abilities, this is a very common aspect of contact and clearly related to it. Could the Greys which visited Clari indirectly caused these incidents to occur? Conclusions It certainly appears that for a period of time during her childhood Clari experienced repeated visitations by Grey beings. While she cannot recollect being taken aboard a craft during this time this does not necessarily mean that this did not occur, it could be that she currently has no recollection of it. These experiences opened her eyes to the UFO and contact subject, which she has been fascinated with ever since. I would like to thank her for coming forward with this information. As a side note, it is interesting to see that Inchgarth Road, where these visitations occurred, lies directly alongside Inchgarth Reservoir.
