Numerous times he has witnessed glowing moving star-like objects in the night sky. These objects have performed manoeuvres which mean they cannot have been satellites or space debris travelling in orbit. On 7th August 2011 he, his brother and father had a particularly interesting sighting which he decided to share with me via Richplanet.net .   Sighting Details   It was 2.20am on the morning of 7th August 2011. The weather was very clear and still and the stars were fully visible. The three men were standing outside their home on Hayling Road in Watford, Hertfordshire and staring up at the sky. Steve caught sight of a moving white light travelling across the sky, looking very much like a satellite. As he was watching it he suddenly noticed that the object was slowing down. It then came to a sharp halt and began to pulsate in brightness. It was astounding to watch and appeared to be caused by some kind of energy.   Aerial map of Hayling Road The witnesses watched the object pulsating for about 20 seconds. After this it vanished without trace. Steve was puzzled and thought to himself “It’s gone, it’s vanished!” Then suddenly it began pulsing again in the sky. A moment later it rapidly accelerated and shot away at an incredible speed, leaving a streak of light behind it like a meteorite. The men could not explain what they had just witnessed and felt that it was clearly something out of the ordinary.   Sighting Analysis   Due to the movements of the object this is an interesting sighting. The light could not have been a satellite or space debris, as although these can pulse in brightness in the manner that Steve describes, they cannot slow down to a halt. This shows that the object was under direct control. The pulsing may have been due to sunlight reflecting off it as it rotated, or could have been a glowing light source from the object itself. The fact that the pulsing ceased for a while could have been intentional or may have been because the object stopped rotating for a period of time, before starting again.   If the object really was under control as it appeared to be then it was probably one of two things – a human made spacecraft performing operations outside of the atmosphere, or a genuine UFO perhaps ET in origin. If the object did massively accelerate and fly away extremely fast then this suggests the later of these two possibilities, as even objects moving at hundreds of miles an hour would appear quite slow at that distance. However there is the possibility that the pulsing light had stopped at the exact moment that a meteorite flew across the sky, giving the impression they were the same object. This may sound unlikely but cannot be put out of the question.   If Steve continues to observe objects such as this then perhaps he will be able to capture some video footage of them in due course. As the objects are being seen after dark this would require the purchase of an infra red camera. If Steve decides to go ahead with this and sends me some video footage he has taken, I will analyse this footage and add my analysis to this report.   Copyright Dave Hodrien 2025

Some of these experiences appear to indicate that she is a contactee, and may have been since an early age. They include two visitations by Grey beings, many dreams that appear symbolic of ET contact and abduction experiences, and numerous UFO sightings. This report covers her experiences in depth in the rough order that they have taken place.   Helicopter Flight   When Kerry was young she lived with her parents on Avenue de l’Escaut in Jadotville, Katanga in the Belgian Congo. These days Jadotville is known as Likasi. She used to go to L’Ecole des Soeurs primary school near to where she lived.   One morning when she was 8 years old (possibly between September 1955 and January 1956), she told her mother that she had been on a helicopter flight the previous day while she was at school. She remembered that a helicopter had descended and landed in the school yard. The pilot, who had come specifically to fetch her, was a man who lived two doors down from them named Mr Lener. He was an employee of the Union Miniere du Haut Katanga (UMHK), and would sometimes give helicopter tours of the area.   Aerial map of L’Ecole des Soeurs school, with the positions of Kerry’s class and the playground marked When her mother heard this she was horrified. It felt to Kerry like a real memory that had actually taken place, and due to her age did not think there was anything unusual about what had happened. After telling her mother the story she went back into school like usual. While she was at school her mother went round to see Mr. Lener. He completely denied landing at the school or taking Kerry for a ride in the helicopter. However he had passed over the school in a helicopter on the previous day as part of his job. There is no way that Kerry could have known this fact as it was classified information.   Late afternoon when Kerry returned home she remembers overhearing her mother talking to her father about the incident wondering how she could have known about Mr Lener’s helicopter flight on the previous day. Through overhearing later conversations between her parents and Mr. Lener, she learned that the passenger of his flight had been one of the first conquerors of Mount Everest who had been interested in seeing the different landmarks of Katanga from the air. Because of this incident her parents stayed in touch with the Lener family and would sometimes go round to visit them.   Looking back at the experience, Kerry cannot remember actually climbing aboard the helicopter, or how she was returned to the school yard, she just remembers being on board it in the air alongside Mr. Lener and possibly other individuals.   The incident remains a compelling mystery. Could it have been nothing more than a vivid dream and unusual coincidence? Perhaps Kerry was aware of Mr. Lener’s job as he was one of her neighbours. Perhaps she had a dream formed from this knowledge, and that the night she had the dream just happened to coincide with a genuine helicopter flight that Mr. Lener had made. However this does seem quite unlikely, so perhaps there is a more unusual explanation.   ETs have the ability to mask both their own appearance and the appearance of their craft. This has been reported many times by contactees from all around the world, and is usually referred to as a screen memory. The ETs will often choose something familiar to the individual such as a family member, pet or acquaintance. This is probably done to reduce the trauma of the experience, or perhaps it is done as a means of disguise so the contactee will not realise what is really taking place. Was Kerry abducted from the school yard? Was the “helicopter” she had been taken up in for a flight actually an ET craft? Did the pilot of this craft disguise its appearance as Mr. Lener on purpose to appear as a familiar face to Kerry. This is certainly worth considering, especially as there are other known cases where exactly the same thing has been reported.   There are of course other possible explanations for what took place. Explanations that may or may not have anything to do with ET contact. Is this incident evidence that Kerry possesses psychic or remote viewing abilities? Perhaps what she remembered was brought on by remotely seeing through the eyes of the passenger. However if this was the case there is still the question of why she had this vision in the first place. Also she remembers the helicopter actually landing in the school yard, which it did not do, it merely flew over the school.   Given the particular circumstances and Kerry’s many later experiences, I feel that there is a good chance that this incident was an abduction, one in which the ETs disguised their craft and themselves as something familiar to her. If she decides to go for a regression then this incident could be explored in more depth and we may be able to find out for sure whether this was the case or not.   Parent’s Abduction   By 1961, Kerry and her parents had moved to Brussels. They owned a large flat on a road named Larousse. The flat was also rented by two teachers from Jadotville, one of whom had been her primary school teacher at the time of the helicopter incident. The other teacher was one of her current teachers. At the time Kerry was studying Greek History. In May 1961 it was her exam period. She had a number of weeks off school to prepare for her exams. During this time she studied in her parent’s double bedroom as it was quiet in there and out of the way.   Aerial map of Larousse indicating Kerry's flat One afternoon she was in the bedroom sitting on the floor and studying like usual. Her parents were elsewhere in the flat, the teachers were out and at school. She suddenly felt un-naturally tired. She decided this must be down to her concentration on the work. At first she tried to fight this feeling, but in the end decided to lie down on the bed for a nap.   When she awoke it was still daylight. She did not bother checking the time, and did not have a watch on, but did go to the window to see what was happening outside and work out roughly what time it was. From the shadows of the buildings she could see it was about 5pm. She then noticed a strange object in the blue sky. It was off to the right of her vision a bit and appeared as a circular red shape. It was completely stationary in the sky. Kerry immediately knew that it was something out of the ordinary. It looked nothing like a cloud and she knew that the sun was not visible in that direction, and was on the other side of the flat. She was also aware of the positioning of the moon as she had seen it only the night before.   Witness drawing of the red orb Kerry had read a book on UFOs by Jimmy Guieu called “Flying Saucers Come From Another World” and wondered to herself if the object was a UFO. However back then she had no idea of the variety of UFO colours and was puzzled by the fact it was glowing red rather than metallic. She was a little concerned by the object so decided to go and get her parents so that they could also take a look at it.   She left the bedroom and went to find her parents. It soon became apparent to her that nobody was there. The flat seemed strangely quiet and calm, more so than it would usually be even on her own. She checked every room but both her parents and the teachers were missing. She still felt unusually tired and knew that she would have to go back off to sleep. She went back to the bedroom and lay back down again.   Witness drawing of the flat layout and position of the orb When she awoke she could hear everyone talking in the kitchen. She had been stirred from her sleep by them calling her for dinner. She went through to the kitchen and sat down. She then asked them “You know earlier on I came out of the bedroom and looked for you and you were not here, did you go out?” Her mother informed her they had not gone out anywhere and had been in the flat the entire time.   A short while later she brought up the incident again, saying that there had been nobody in the flat. This time her father became irritated and told her to be quiet. He said that they would never have gone out without telling her first. Kerry did not bring up the incident again.   At the time she had no idea what had happened, it felt very strange indeed to her. In 1995 she bought a book on ET contact. While reading this she realised that the incident back in 1961 could have been contact related. She wondered whether the red glowing object had been a UFO and whether the discrepancies in what took place were due to an abduction experience. For many years she assumed it was her who was abducted. But recently she has wondered whether it was not her who was taken, but her parents. Perhaps the ETs had shut her down to enable them to take her parents, but she had awoken while they were aboard the craft.   Whether or not you believe that this experience was down to ET contact depends on whether you believe that Kerry could not have just been dreaming. She says that she knew the difference and was definitely awake when she looked around the flat and saw the glowing UFO. However there is still the chance she was mistaken and that it was just a very vivid dream. She was feeling very tired at the time. Perhaps this was natural and that this led her to experience a vivid dream in which she woke up and looked around for her parents. Perhaps they had not gone anywhere and she was just imagining they had.   However there are a number of aspects to this incident which suggest otherwise. Could she really have dreamed something so clearly in such good detail that she thought it was real? And what should be made of the glowing red object in the sky? This does give the incident an unusual element that perhaps was ET in nature.   White Orbs Sighting   Kerry has had numerous UFO sightings throughout her life. The first of these took place in February 1964. She was around her friend Marie-France’s house in the centre of Kolwezi, Katanga. It was early evening and just starting to get dark. Her mother was talking with Marie-France’s mother, and the girls were playing outside the front of the house. Patrice Sinave, the son of one of the teachers at the nearby College Saint Jean XXIII, was also present.   It was a clear and warm night, and there were many stars in the sky overhead. The witnesses were talking about science-fiction, which they all had an interest in. Kerry mentioned something she had read in Jimmy Guieu’s book which said that ETs could have the technology to listen in to people’s conversations. At that exact moment they suddenly noticed a moving star-like white orb light crossing the sky and heading towards a second stationary similar light.   Kerry was familiar with the night sky. The moving orb appeared to be travelling faster than a satellite would usually move, but was too slow to be a meteorite. It was travelling in a straight line and looked like it was going to collide with the stationary orb. They were at an angle of about 45 degrees in the sky and appeared to be up in space outside of the atmosphere. As the moving orb reached the other one the witnesses expected to see an explosion, but it was as if the moving object merged with it! It did not slow down beforehand it had just vanished at the exact moment it reached the stationary orb.   Aerial map of Katanga indicating the sighting location, the direction of the lights and movement path The witnesses were mystified by what they had just seen and questioned it to each other. It could have been nothing more than a coincidence but it was strange that something unusual had seemed to take place at the very moment Kerry was speaking about ETs listening in on conversations. They wondered if the stationary object was a large spacecraft, and that the moving object had docked with it. They continued to watch for a while longer. The stationary orb remained motionless.   In the end, Kerry’s mother called her and she had to head home by car. She did not check for the same stationary object in the sky when she arrived home.   Could the glowing objects seen have been genuine UFOs operating outside of the atmosphere or at very high altitude? This cannot be ruled out completely, however it is just as likely that there was a mundane explanation for what was seen. It is unlikely that the moving light was an aircraft at high altitude as it was a clear night so the lights on it would have remained visible not suddenly vanished. However perhaps the moving object was a satellite catching the suns rays, and after a while it had rotated and stopped reflecting the light so appeared to vanish just as it passed in front of a distant star. This could have created the same effect to what was observed. As the objects were nothing more than glowing star-like lights, and no unusual manoeuvres were witnessed, this explanation cannot be ruled out.   Whether or not the lights seen were ET related, they did not appear to interact with Kerry directly and were very distant, so are unlikely to have been linked with her contact experiences.   A Lost Pregnancy?   Around August 1967 when she was 19 Kerry began to suffer from menstrual pains. Her mother accused her of secretly having an abortion, which was not the case. She decided to go to a Belgian gynaecologist. In Belgium it is possible to go straight to a specialist without having to first go to a GP.   After an examination she was informed that she had been pregnant but that the baby was no longer there. He asked her if she had lost it without being aware, but she was certain she would have known. It remained a mystery.   Looking at this incident on its own, it can of course be put down to a mundane explanation, a lost pregnancy that Kerry had somehow completely missed. However in later years she would have other experiences which suggest this could have been ET related.   Yellow-White Orb Sighting   By 1969, Kerry had moved to London. In the spring she saw a poster for the Aetherius Society (a worldwide spiritual UFO-based organisation) and decided to start going along to their lectures. One evening in the autumn she was out walking in the early evening after 5pm. The sky was still light and it was a clear evening. She was on her way to the society from her work place, and had stopped at some traffic lights. She cannot be sure, but she believes she was on Totenham Court Road.   Suddenly she saw a glowing object appear in the sky in the direction she was facing. It was like a glowing yellow-white coloured ball of fire with a tail behind it like a comet. The object seemed to have appeared from nowhere. It ascended into the sky, came back down again and then ascended a second time. As it reached the height it had reached the first time it vanished without trace. It did all of this within several seconds.   Witness drawing of the yellow orb in the sky and her position on the road The object had seemed large in size and had been at quite a high altitude over the buildings. Kerry felt that what she had witnessed was an ET craft shifting into the physical plane of existence before shifting back out, which would explain its sudden appearance and disappearance. The object could not have been a meteorite as these travel on a straight or slightly dipped path across the sky, they do not rapidly ascend and descend. It moved too fast to have been a lit inflatable and again the movement pattern does not fit. A lit inflatable would usually have continued to ascend upwards, or perhaps ascend until the flame burnt out then descended back down to the ground. However it could have been buffeted around in air currents so this cannot be fully ruled out. But if it was an inflatable then surely it would not have suddenly vanished in the way that it did? It was still daylight so even if it had gone out or deflated it would have still be visible falling back to the ground.   A mundane possibility could be an unusual firework that someone had set off in the daytime. The object did look large but perhaps this was just an optical illusion and it was actually closer and smaller than it appeared. The fact the object was only visible for several seconds and then vanished without trace could suggest this, as fireworks often burn out without a final explosion. Another possible explanation is that it was atmospheric phenomena of some kind such as an earth light. However these are quite rare and generally appear in rural areas not over populated urban areas, so again this seems unlikely. The Yellow-White Orb Returns! Either the following year or the one after, Kerry had two sightings of a similar coloured object in the same evening, and this time the movement pattern was quite different. She was on the way to the Aetherius Society from her flat on Fulham Road. She was walking along the road when she suddenly noticed a glowing object hovering a short distance above the roof tops. She thought it may be something unusual but as it was just a stationary yellow-white light she could not say for definite.   Witness drawing showing the stationary orb and her position on Fulham Road Kerry left the society about 11pm with two other members. They were walking back along Fulham Road when Kerry suddenly wondered whether the object she had seen earlier was still there. She glanced round and sure enough it was still there in the sky, though it was now positioned off to the other side of the road. At this point she felt certain that the object was a UFO and not just a distant light on a building. Almost immediately the object started moving away to the South and steadily ascending. Over 2 seconds it accelerated until it was travelling very fast, and moved away from the area faster than a conventional aircraft. It was rapidly lost from sight. While the objects looked similar in colour, this does not necessarily mean they were the same type of object, the colour similarity could have just been a coincidence. If we assume that the objects were different then they can be looked at independently.   When the object was initially seen low down over the houses perhaps it was merely a light on a building, one which had been switched off by the time she was walking back home. However Kerry was very familiar with the area so surely she would have seen this light on other occasions if that were the case?   One possibility is that both the stationary object seen early in the evening, and the one that moved later on were conventional aircraft flying taking off towards her location. This sometimes can give the impression that they are stationary in the sky. Maybe on the second sighting, the aircraft was initially flying towards her, but then turned and flew away into the distance ascending to a higher altitude. Kerry says that it was moving too fast to have been a conventional aircraft but could she have been mistaken? However this explanation does seem unlikely because on both occasions no other navigation lights were seen. These may have been obscured on the earlier sighting, but later when it was seen from a side on perspective they should have been visible if they existed.   It seems unlikely the object would have remained visible in the sky for numerous hours, as surely this would have generated quite a number of sightings considering the fact it was over London? To Kerry’s knowledge no other witness sightings of the object(s) were reported.   Despite there being a number of mundane possibilities for the objects seen, there is still the possibility that they were something far more unusual. Could they have been genuine sightings of ET craft which were displaying themselves to Kerry for a particular unknown reason?   White Cigar UFO Sighting   A short while after the second sighting of the yellow-white orb, Kerry had another UFO sighting. It was about 11.30pm and she had just returned to her flat. She switched the light on and could immediately see out of the window. Her flat was on the 2nd floor so she had a good view of the local area. It was a calm and clear night. It was now that she noticed a glowing object travelling over the rooftops. It was bright white in colour and elongated oval in shape. Its edges were clearly defined, and it looked self-luminescent. There were no visible markings or protrusions.   Witness drawing of the UFO fro the window The object appeared to be at low altitude just over the roofs of the houses, and too low for a conventional aircraft to fly at. It was hard to judge exactly how far away it was from her location. The UFO was moving on a straight and level course and travelling at a constant speed. Kerry estimates it was at least twice the length of a bus.   It was travelling at quite a slow speed and moving from the right to the left of her view. She was only able to observe it for several seconds before it was lost from sight behind some nearby buildings. Kerry felt that it was another genuine sighting of an ET craft.   Aerial map indicating the flat location and the estimated route of the UFO Kerry may have been correct in her assumption. However there is also the possibility that the object was some kind of large inflatable or blimp reflecting lights from the ground. It was moving on a straight course at a slow speed so there is nothing to indicate that it was under intelligent control and not just drifting in an air current. While this explanation cannot be ruled out, an LED balloon is out of the question due to the fact that this sighting occurred in 1970 – LED balloons & blimps have only been publicly available in recent years. If the object was a genuine cigar-shaped craft then the glowing light could have been caused by a field surrounding the object. As with her other sightings, this object did not seem to interact directly with her in any way.   Hike UFO Photograph   At some point within the early 1970s, Kerry went on a hiking expedition with other members of the Aetherius Society. They were out for the day in the North of Britain climbing up some mountains. It was the afternoon and they were on their way back to where they had parked. One of the hikers decided to take a photograph of the rest of the group, with a nice open view behind them. Nothing out of the ordinary was seen at the time.   Once they were back home they developed the photograph. In the background there appeared to be several UFOs. They took the photograph to the society to show them. Kerry and the other people in the picture were called to the reception of the building to take a look. From what Kerry could see, the objects were in the shape of a flying saucer and were a bit blurred. They certainly appeared to be real objects.   Unfortunately Kerry was not given a copy of the photograph and left the society in 1972.   Dreams & Fears   In the early 1980s Kerry began to experience numerous dreams which are extremely likely to be related to abductions. Some of these dreams led her to have phobias of certain things – ones which are often reported by contactees.   She began to have dreams about getting into an elevator. She would press the button and the lift would ascend, but it would not stop it just kept going up and up. In one dream the lift changed to a red telephone box and she could see through the glass windows that she was flying upwards rather than travelling up an elevator shaft. Whenever she woke from one of these dreams she would feel like lots more had taken place which she could not remember.   Due to the dreams of elevators she feels uncomfortable in them and prefers to use the stairs where possible. Many contactees report either a feeling of discomfort or outright fear of elevators. This is probably because the feeling of ascending upward reminds them of being taken up into a craft. The fact that Kerry would wake and feel that more had taken place suggests that she has some missing memories which have been blocked from her mind.   In one dream the lift actually came to a halt and she stepped out onto a floor. This floor was nearly transparent and she could see that she was at an extremely high altitude. She has a fear of heights so this made her feel dizzy. She then met with a strange humanoid being. The being had an elongated oversized head, large almond shaped eyes with blue irises and thin wispy hair. Many years later she would learn that this being was likely to have been an ET-human hybrid. She sat alongside the being and it handed her a number of pictures. She cannot remember exactly what these pictures were of.   Witness drawing of her meeting with the hybrid being Around the same time as the elevator dreams, Kerry also had numerous dreams where she saw small dolls or animal shapes which would come alive. These dreams concerned her greatly. Again contactees often dream of or have a phobia of dolls because they remind them of the beings they have seen during their experiences. It is likely that the dolls in Kerry’s dreams are symbolic of Greys she has been in contact with. The last time she remembers dreaming of them was in the early 1990s. It is possible that the animal shapes she dreamed of were a screen memory projected by the Greys to mask their true appearance.   While many of Kerry’s dreams have been symbolic, there is one particular dream which she has had which appears directly related and was probably memories of a real experience.   In this dream she remembers first being aware that she was pregnant and being troubled by this fact. Kerry has two children already and so was upset due to the amount of work that would be involved with bringing up another.   The next thing she became aware of was a being sitting down in front of her. The figure was dressed in white overalls, and she assumed it was a doctor. She was staring at his body but does not remember looking at his face. She believes this may have been intentional so the beings true identity would not be revealed to her. She does not remember the being saying anything to her.   At this point she became aware that the pregnancy was going to be taken away, even though nobody told her this information directly. It was like she had knowledge of the reason she was there and what was going to take place. She had a fear of the pregnancy so was happy that this was going to happen. However she does not know why she was frightened of it.   She then found herself lying down on a flattened table being pulled along by some short beings who she assumed at the time were children. This was the last thing that she currently remembers. Looking back at the dream she feels that she has since had another dream about a doctor but cannot remember any details.   The pregnancy theme of this dream suggests that Kerry may have been part of the hybrid breeding program and has perhaps been used as a surrogate to develop a hybrid embryo, which was then taken from her to continue development aboard a craft. This is a known procedure described time and time again by female contactees, and appears to be one of the main ongoing agendas of the ETs. It is not possible that Kerry was pregnant by her husband at this point as he had a vasectomy after their second child.   Could the missing pregnancy that Kerry had back in August 1967 (discussed earlier) have been down to a hybrid which was removed from her back then? If so could it have been the reason behind this dream or a completely separate previous incident?   It is fascinating that the figure she initially met in the dream reminded her of a doctor. This has been reported before by contactees, including some who I have personally investigated. It appears to be a common screen memory utilised by the Greys to mask their appearance. The fact that she did not see or could not remember the beings face is very interesting. Usually when meeting someone you would look into their face, so this could well be a sign that there was a reason behind this.   The flat table surrounded by small beings that Kerry describes is typical of an abduction experience. At the time she felt these beings were children due to their small height, but looking back at the experience she realises that they were likely to have been Greys. She does not currently remember what happened next, but it is possible that a hybrid embryo was removed from her. She does remember feeling completely at ease with what was taking place despite the bizarreness of the situation. This is again commonly described by contactees.   In another dream Kerry was looking into a mirror, but what she saw staring back at her was the face of what she now believes was a hybrid, an ET-human cross breed. The face had very large almond shaped eyes with blue irises. It was elongated in shape and had no hair. Kerry was not disturbed by the look of this being, she felt comfortable with it. It is possible that what she saw here was the face of a hybrid which had been created from her own DNA. Or perhaps this was symbolic of her connection with the ETs. I have looked into other cases where contactees have seen themselves as ET beings, both directly and while under regression.   After reading the book by Budd Hopkins in 1995 she realised that these dreams could well be symbolic of abduction experiences. Below Kerry explains in her own words what she has come to understand:   “It is possible the abductee is under the effect of a certain mind control which is designed to prevent you from being conscious in the normal way. You realise you are awake and there, but your brain powers are limited and you can’t realise that it’s an abnormal situation and you should be alarmed. Perhaps the objective of this is so that you don’t get worried about it. Sometimes you gain some amount of control and that’s what permitted me to remember these dreams. I get the feeling that by some kind of mind control they make the person perceive something else than what is really happening to prevent the person from reacting.”   In early 2011 Kerry had another dream which could well be contact related. She found herself floating upwards with a jacket-like harness around her. This harness appeared to be anti-gravity and she was floating up into the air. As she floated up past a nearby tree and tried to grab hold of the leaves.  She then saw a wide saucer-shaped UFO above her and realised she was being dragged towards it. She thought to herself “It’s fun to be flying, but this is my last chance to escape.” She grabbed hold of the branches of the tree and managed to fight the force lifting her upwards towards the craft. She pulled herself slowly down to the ground. She then managed to take off the harness. This was the last thing that happened in the dream.   Witness drawing of the UFO in the harness dream While it is unlikely that this latest dream actually took place as she experienced it, it could well have again been symbolic of a previous incident or incidents where she has been taken up into a craft. Perhaps her mind created the harness around her to explain how she was being lifted up off the ground against her will.   Abduction Attempts   Kerry has on two occasions had experiences which she believes may have been attempted abductions that were stopped by her becoming aware of what was going on.   The first of these occurred in 1997. At the time she was living in a house on Farmfield Road in Cheltenham with her daughter. It was mid-afternoon and she was in the living room. Her daughter was out at school. Kerry had been lying down and resting on the sofa for a while and her eyes were closed. She is not sure if she dropped off for a period of time or not.   Aerial map showing the location of Kerry’s property on Farmfield Road Suddenly she became aware that she was struggling to keep awake. This feeling was very similar to what had happened back in 1961 where her parents inexplicably vanished for a period of time (see earlier). She then had the mental picture that an attempt was being made to spray something into her throat and to paralyze her. It felt like she was going to suffocate. She was not at all happy about the situation and tried to fight what was taking place.   Kerry managed to open her eyes and for a brief moment saw two Greys bending down over her. The beings then immediately vanished. She only had time to take in the fact that they had elongated faces, slanted eyes and that they were wearing black cloaks or clothing. It felt to her that they had not expected her to open her eyes. This had surprised them and they had decided to stop whatever they had planned to do. She was certain that she had been awake and it was not just a vivid dream. In the days following this experience she was frightened to go to sleep.   Witness drawing of the two Greys which appeared in the living room A few weeks after the incident, Kerry once again saw the same Grey beings. This time she woke up in the morning and opened her eyes. As before there were two beings standing behind her head (the top of the bed is not against a wall) and leaning over her. Once again they vanished after a short moment. Witness drawing of the Greys next to her bed Kerry was quite baffled by this as up until this point she had believed her abductions to be out-of-body experiences rather than physical. She was convinced that on both occasions the Greys had been physically there in the room. Due to the fact that this experience happened within a few weeks of the first, there is the possibility that it was just a vivid flashback to it rather than a separate experience in its own right. The fact that she has not seen them since again points towards this possibility.   Triangular UFO Sighting   In the summer of 1998 Kerry had another UFO sighting. She had once again moved house and was living in Quedgeley near Gloucester. It was around 10pm and a warm clear evening. The sun had set and stars were visible in the sky. Kerry stepped outside onto the back patio of the house to let the dog out before heading up to bed. She stood near the back door. It was now that she noticed a moving shadow above her.   She looked up and saw a triangular shaped object moving slowly across the sky. But the most impressive thing about it was the fact that it was nearly transparent. She could make out the shape of it but could also see the stars through it. It was as if it was not fully phased into the physical plane, or was using some kind of camouflage to blend into the sky. There was some dim lighting on the object around the edges.   Aerial map indicating sighting location and shape of the triangular UFO Kerry was very puzzled by what she was looking at. She thought about calling her daughter who was inside the house, but dared not take her eyes off the object. She shouted out but her daughter did not hear her. The UFO appeared to be at quite high altitude and was moving very slowly to the South on a straight and level course. She observed it for about 7-8 seconds as it passed overhead. She turned round to continue to watch it move away. She then glanced towards the kitchen to see if her daughter was there. When she looked back the object had completely vanished. It was not very distant at this point so it should still have been visible, but it was gone.   After the sighting Kerry headed back into the house and told her daughter what she had just seen. After reading about Flying Triangles in UFO Magazine, she is convinced that this is what she had seen.   Kerry’s assumption may well have been correct. The fact that the object was both quite large and semi-transparent tends to support the idea that it was a craft of some kind using stealth technology to reduce its visibility against the night sky. I have investigated other cases where Flying Triangles have appeared in this way, or even phased back and forth between being visible and being fully invisible. This could be stealth technology, or may be evidence that these craft can shift between different dimensions and slip in and out of our reality.   Due to the fact it was semi-transparent it could not have been a conventional aircraft of any kind. We cannot put out of the question the idea that it was a triangular shaped clear inflatable of some kind. However this seems unlikely, especially when we consider the fact that it had numerous dim lights on it (The lights were probably dim because they too were semi-transparent at the time of the sighting). True this lighting could have been reflections of lights from the ground, but the object was flying like it was under control, with one of the three points facing forwards at all times. If it was an inflatable you would expect it to rotate and tilt as it drifted.   As you can see, there are a number of valid reasons why I feel this was a genuine sighting of an FT craft and not misidentification of a mundane object. Due to the unusual aspects, it is one of Kerry's most interesting sightings.   Conclusion   Due to the sightings of Grey beings leaning over her, and her many interesting dreams that seem to fit with contact experiences, I am quite convinced that Kerry is a contactee. In recent years she has gained a good knowledge of the ET contact subject, however many of her experiences occurred before she gained this knowledge so could not of been influenced by what she has since learned. The UFO sightings she has had are interesting, although none of them appear to have directly interacted with her or been in the vicinity because of her. It is possible that they were observing her from a distance but it is just as probable that she has been in the right place at the right time to see them.   It is unknown whether contact has now ceased. She has not had any contact-related experiences since the late 1990s, so perhaps the ETs are no longer interacting with her. However contact can often cease for many years before later returning so there is no guarantee that Kerry will not have further contact experiences moving forward. If she decides to keep in touch then I will add the details of any further incidents to this report. Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 11/08/2011 Last Updated: 17/01/2025   In July 2011 a man named Patrick Hartnett got in touch with me to discuss an unusual incident which occurred in 1999 when he was about 18 years old. There are many signs that suggest that he may have been abducted. This report covers the experience, as well as other unusual experiences that he has had throughout his life.   Moving Curtains   Around the age of 5-6 Patrick remembers seeing the curtains of his bedroom open by themselves late at night after dark on numerous occasions. Whenever it happened he would tell his parents that there were people looking in from outside. But his parents would just tell him it must be a bad dream.   He also remembers disliking being on his own after dark. This fear built up until he could only drop off to sleep if his mother was there in the room.   It is possible that the curtains opening were nothing more than his young imagination. Also perhaps his fear of being on his own after dark was just a typical fear that many children have. However there is the possibility that Patrick was experiencing ET contact even back then, and that these incidents were signs of this. He does not recall seeing any ETs but often contact will begin in childhood and continue through the individual’s life, so this cannot be fully ruled out.   Finger Marking   Around the same time that he was experiencing the incidents after dark, Patrick awoke one morning to find a strange inflamed marking on his right index finger. It was in the shape of a 1 cm line then a small gap followed by a slightly slanted much shorter line of roughly 2mm. He remembers that it itched. Patrick showed the marking to his parents but they could not explain where he may have got it from.   Within a short time the marking faded to a white coloured scar which Patrick still has today. Below is a photograph of how it now appears:   As the marking left a permanent scar this does suggest that it was down to normal injury and not something out of the ordinary. Most markings received during abduction experiences tend to fade away within a couple of days. However I felt it was still worth mentioning, especially as it occurred around the same time as his fear of the dark and the moving curtains.   Red Lights UFO Sighting   In October/November 1996 Patrick was living in Germany with his parents. His father was in the and was stationed there at the time. They lived in a house in the barracks of Honhe army camp. Late one evening, between 10.30-11.00pm Patrick was walking back to the house from the local gym. It was a cold and clear night with no cloud cover.   Patrick was walking alongside a cemetery and large lake that was next to the housing quarters. He happened to glance up into the night sky. Over the far end of the lake, about 200 metres away to the North at quite a high altitude he noticed three red glowing lights in a triangular formation.   Map of Honhe Army Camp showing the approximate positions of Patrick (A), the UFO (B) and his house (C) The lights were moving in unison, and he believed them to be three lights on a singular object rather than three objects flying in formation. They were moving to his left at what appeared to be a fast speed. However they did not keep flying in this direction. They began darting around in the sky, back and forth, up and down. If the lights were on a singular object, this appeared to also be rotating different directions – the three lights were not always at the same angle to each other but the distance between them did not change at all.   Patrick was fascinated by the strange movements of the lights and realised they could not be a conventional aircraft. There were no aircraft stationed at the military base, and the movements were far too erratic. He watched them for a number of minutes. Then suddenly without warning the lights vanished. He continued to stand staring in the direction where the lights had been, hoping to see them again, but they did not return.   Apparition Of A Girl   In 1997 a short time before Patrick and his parents were set to leave Honhe and return to England, Patrick saw what appeared to be a ghost. He was in the house alone, his parents had gone out for his father’s leaving do put on by the regiment. It was about 11pm and Patrick was sitting in his bedroom. The bedroom door was wide open, giving him a view out onto the landing. His bedroom light was on but the one on the landing was off. However the light from his room illuminated the landing quite well.   Suddenly Patrick saw a little girl walk right past his bedroom door in the direction of the bathroom. She had dark shoulder length hair and appeared to be wearing a dress. She looked quite young, perhaps 5 years old. Her arms were down by her sides and she appeared to be in a daze.   Patrick was quite shocked as he knew that he was the only one in the house and there was no way a young girl would have somehow entered the property. He walked over and peered out onto the landing.  There was no-one there. He then looked in the bathroom through the doorway. Again it was clear that it was empty. At this point he became extremely frightened. He quickly ran downstairs and out of the house!   He went to his friends house across the road and started banging on the front door. It was quite late and his friend’s parents were already in bed, but when they saw the state he was in they seemed to understand.  When he spoke with his friend, she informed him that other people had reported the same thing in the property. Her father dealt with the housing within the barracks and had informed her of these incidents. When Patrick heard this it confirmed to him that the house was haunted and he had seen the ghost of an unidentified young girl.   While this incident does not seem to be linked to ET contact in any way, many contactees report seeing apparitions or other paranormal activity in their proximity. There is the possibility that they are more susceptible to seeing such things, or that through contact they have gained a heightened sensitivity. Could this have been the reason why Patrick had this experience? Or would anyone there at the time have seen the same thing he did.   The Abduction   Back in August 1999 Patrick shared a small studio flat on Watergate in the centre of Sleaford with his partner at the time. One night he awoke and went to get a drink from the kitchen. As he walked across the living room he began to feel very uneasy like something was watching him. It sent a chill right up his spine and he had never felt anything like it before. After grabbing a drink of milk from the fridge he quickly got back into bed next to his sleeping girlfriend.   Aerial map of Watergate showing the location of the flat Within what seemed like a brief moment, the bedroom suddenly lit up in an intense pale blue light. few seconds later he felt himself being pulled from the bed towards the window of the room. Patrick describes it as similar to the feeling of being on an escalator. He tried to move but found he could not, it was like he was restrained all over his body from the neck down. He was still able to move his head. He was absolutely terrified and tried to scream out loud, but no sound appeared to come out.   Patrick turned his head to look across at his girlfriend. She was facing away from him and appeared to be asleep. However he now became aware that he was looking at her from a slight diagonal angle, and was a short distance in the air above the height of the mattress! This caused him to panic, as it was clear to him now that he was actually floating towards the window, it was not just a feeling of being pulled towards it.   This seemed to go on for about 10-15 seconds, by which time he was nearing the window of the room. Then suddenly there was blackness. This was followed by a brief vision which lasted for no more than a few seconds. He was lying down on a flat surface of some kind. There was a Grey standing alongside him and peering down at him. The being had smooth skin and was expressionless. It had large almond shaped eyes which were completely black. They seemed cold and devoid of life. It had a small nose that did not protrude far from its face, and a thin slit for a mouth. Patrick does not recall seeing any ears. As far as he could tell it was not clothed. He sensed that there were other beings also present although he did not see them. He does not recall seeing any surroundings or a ceiling beyond the Greys face.   A moment later once again there was blackness. The next thing Patrick became aware of, he was waking up the following morning. He immediately recalled what had taken place. At the time he had a basic knowledge of what aliens are supposed to look like and realised that what he experienced could have been related. However, because of this knowledge, he wondered if it had been nothing more than a vivid dream and had not actually taken place.   Over breakfast he told his girlfriend what had happened but she didn’t believe him. He decided to drive on around to his mother’s house in Methringham to tell her about the experience. He couldn’t shake the feeling that something unusual had taken place. He expected her to suggest that it had just been brought on by what he had been reading. However when he told her what happened, she sat there blankly staring at him. When he was finished, she suggested that they take a drive out somewhere. Patrick didn’t understand why she wanted to do this but decided to go along with it.   He followed his mum’s directions and they drove out  to a corn field on the outskirts of the village. As they approached the field they were on the Sleaford Road and heading down slope. It became immediately obvious that there was a crop circle in the field. His mother then informed him that it apparently appeared during the night. She wondered whether the two incidents were connected and whether his experience had not been a dream. Patrick was fascinated and also found it to be a strange coincidence that this circle had formed on the same night as the incident. It actually spooked him out a bit.   Sadly neither he or his mother had a camera on them at the time so there was no photograph of the crop circle taken. Ever since the incident, Patrick has wondered whether he was really taken on that night. If he was abducted it appears to have been the only time, unless memories of other experiences have been fully blocked out.   Many of the aspects that he mentions certainly fit in with contact. The feeling of being watched is commonly reported by contactees and often precedes a contact experience. The sudden glowing light seen in the room, paralysis and fact that when he tried to scream no sound seemed to be coming out are all classic signs of an abduction. Also the fact he actually saw himself floating across the room towards the window is very good evidence to suggest that he was abducted.   Some of these aspects could be attributed to sleep paralysis. This is where the body shuts down in a state of semi-sleep, which can cause the brain to imagine or see unusual things. However there are several good reasons why I do not feel this was the case. Firstly Patrick has never experienced sleep paralysis on any other occasion, up until I informed him about it he didn’t know it existed. It appears that he had literally just got back into bed, there was not really enough time for him to have started to drop off to sleep. He was already feeling uneasy because of the feeling of being watched, so it was not like he was in a drowsy state when he lay back down. Lastly during sleep paralysis you can feel like you are being pulled from your bed, however you do not actually go anywhere, it is highly unlikely that Patrick would have hallucinated floating through the air across the room.   The fact that he then had a brief vision of a Grey, sensed others around him and appeared to be lying down on a raised surface suggests that he was taken aboard a craft. These aspects fit extremely well with a “classic” abduction scenario. He does not remember actually lifting up towards a craft, but few contactees do, this aspect is often forgotten. We must take into account the fact that Patrick had previously read into the UFO subject and was aware of what Greys look like. Could he have had a vivid dream suggesting to him that he had been taken? At this stage this cannot be ruled fully ruled out.   The crop circle that appeared on the same night as his experience is interesting. It is of course possible that it was related, but there is no real evidence pointing towards this. It was not very local to Patrick’s house, and could have been nothing more than a hoax as many crop formations in recent years have been.   Ongoing Observation   Patrick says that around twice a month he still gets the sudden feeling of being watched. This tends to happen late at night and when he is alone. When he senses this he has the habit of walking round and checking all the doors and windows are locked. He then gets into bed, ensuring a light is left on. The feeling tends to remain until he drops off to sleep.   Could this be a sign of ongoing ET interaction? It is very common for contactees to feel like they are being watched, and this may sometimes be down to regular observation from the ETs.   Conclusion   Patrick has had some fascinating experiences. The incident which occurred in the studio flat is a very good sign that he could be a contactee. His other experiences are also interesting, though may not be directly linked with ET contact. The UFO sighting that he had is quite impressive due to the manoeuvres it was performing. I believe that it may well have been a genuine craft, however it was quite distant to him and did not seem to directly interact with him in any way.   I feel that the best way forward would be for Patrick to be hypnotically regressed. He seeks answers to what actually happened during the abduction experience. It certainly appears that more may have taken place than he can currently remember. Perhaps with regression these missing memories could be unlocked and we could gain enough information to say for sure whether he is a contactee or not. Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 09/02/2012 Last Updated: 09/12/2024   UFO witness Mr J. Sturch got in touch with me in January 2012 to discuss a number of incidents, including a white coloured sphere sighting which he had the previous year. Details of this sighting can be found below. He also discussed a childhood sighting of an unusual being, and an orange orb sighting his brother from Coventry experienced. These have been written up as separate reports, the links to which can be found near the end of this one.   Sighting Details   On 20th August 2011, Mr Sturch was out mowing the back garden of his house in Shard End, Birmingham. It was around mid-day and the weather was clear and sunny. He heard the sound of a jet on take-off passing overhead. This was a common occurrence as he lives below the flight path of Birmingham international airport.   Aerial map showing Shard End (A) and Birmingham International Airport (B) It was flying quite low, so he looked up to see how large it was. As he looked up at the jet, Mr Sturch noticed that there was also a white spherical object in the distance to the West. He watched this for about a minute, and realised that it was moving diagonally across his field of vision, and appeared to be under control.   He ran inside the house to get some binoculars so he could get a closer look at the object. When he went back outside he saw that the object was further across the sky and heading towards some clouds. Through the binoculars it looked like a perfect white reflective sphere with a greyish metallic structure underneath it. This appeared to be two attachments that came down at a sharp angle and met in the middle. The overall structure gave the appearance of an ice cream cone.   It appeared to be quite large in size. As far as he was aware it was completely silent. He could see that the object was moving in a different direction to the clouds so certainly appeared to be under power. The clouds were moving towards him to the East, where as the object was moving in a North Easterly direction. After a couple of minutes the object was lost from sight behind the bank of clouds.   Soon after the incident, Mr Sturch decided to post the sighting on the UK UFO Sightings website to see if anyone else had also seen the UFO.   Sighting Analysis The object seen in this incident is quite interesting due to its unusual shape. White spheres are often seen but they rarely have metallic protrusions hanging down underneath them. For such an object I would usually put forward the possibility of some kind of balloon or inflatable.   However Mr Sturch is quite certain that the object was under control and was not an inflatable or hot air balloon. The fact it was moving in a different direction to the wind would tend to support this theory, though there is always the possibility of multiple air currents at different altitudes. The fact that the object moved on a straight course and did not perform any unusual manoeuvres means that we cannot fully rule out the possibility that it was a drifting inflatable. However some of the evidence does suggest otherwise.   If it was not a balloon, what else could it have been? It certainly did not appear to be a conventional aircraft of any kind. Could it have been a military drone? Perhaps, but these too tend to have visible means of propulsion such as rotor blades. Could this have been a genuine unusual craft, and if so was it human built or otherwise? Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 09/02/2012 Last Updated: 09/12/2024   This report covers an orange orb sighting experienced by a couple from Coventry on an unknown date. The details were provided by the brother of the male witness, Mr J. Sturch, while discussing some other incidents he directly experienced. Links to reports on these incidents can be found near the end of this report. Only limited details are known at present as I lost contact after receiving the initial details.   Sighting Details   One evening Mr Sturch’s brother was on his way out of the house in Coventry. It was around 8pm. He stepped outside to wait for his fiancée. While he waited he looked up into the night sky. It was now that he noticed a big glowing orange ball of light. The object was completely stationary and silent.   Puzzled by what it could be, he watched the object for several minutes. His fiancée came outside and joined him. He told her to look up and see what he had been watching. She immediately stated that it was probably a helicopter. But he pointed out that there was no noise coming from it. She then said it must be a plane of some kind, but again he thought otherwise due to the colour and fact that it was not moving.   While they continued to watch, a jet approached on the landing path for Coventry airport, which was about 2-3 miles from his house. The jet flew right above the UFO, proving that it was at a lower altitude. It still continued to hover motionless. Then a short while later, it suddenly shot away at an incredible speed! In that moment both witnesses realised they had seen something very unusual indeed.   Aerial map of Coventry Airport Mr Sturch says that his brother is a level-headed guy and would not have made this story up. Usually orange orbs of light seen after dark turn out to be nothing more than Chinese lanterns. However due to the manoeuvres witnessed, this object was clearly not a lantern or LED balloon.   The fact that it hovered motionless for a number of minutes, then instantly accelerated at a very fast speed fits in with many other UFO sightings. It suggests that the object was clearly under control, and that it possessed advanced flight capabilities. Most mundane explanations do not adequately explain what was observed.   Sighting Analysis As there were two witnesses, it was clearly present in the sky. The object could not have been a distant aeroplane as it remained stationary for a number of minutes. It was certainly not a helicopter due to the lack of normal navigation lights, lack of sound, and speed of movement when it began moving. Drones were not commercially available at the time of the sighting. It could not have been a meteorite as these are only seen for a brief moment. It is very unlikely to have been an earth light, as these do not suddenly fly off extremely fast, and are rarely observed over urbanised areas. Therefore, with these alternatives eliminated, I feel that the object was likely to be an advanced craft, possibly of ET origin. Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 09/02/2012 Last Updated: 09/12/2024   Introduction   In January 2012 I was contacted by Mr J. Sturch from Shard End in Birmingham. He wished to report three separate incidents which had happened to him and his brother – an encounter with a mysterious being during his childhood, a sighting of a white spherical UFO which he had in August 2011, and a previous sighting by his brother of an orange glowing orb. This report covers the being sighting. Links to the other reports can be found near the end.   Unfortunately the witness did not get back in touch so we only have his initially provided details to go on, hence the lack of certain pieces of information, including specific location of this event.   Encounter Details   This experience occurred around 1981 when Mr Sturch was 9-10 years old and still at junior school. It was bonfire night, 5th November. He and his parents had been round to the neighbour’s house to enjoy a bonfire and fireworks with them. There was a boy named Phillip who lived next door and was the same age. After his parents decided to return home, Phillip came back with him and they went to sit on the back door step to watch other fireworks going off in the neighbourhood.   Example photograph of fireworks display They would often like to play tricks on an older boy who lived in the house that backed onto the house. They used to shine their torches into his bedroom window as they knew he would be in bed by a certain time. They shined the torches down to the base of the back garden, and immediately got the fright of their lives! At the base of the garden was a two metre high standard wooden fence, and raised area with a pile of cut hedging. When they shone the torches, the beams suddenly shone directly onto a large black humanoid figure crouching on top of the fence!   Mr Sturch questions his memory of the exact appearance of this figure. For many years he recalled that it reminded him of Zorro from the TV series. However as he got older and started to look more into the paranormal, he likened the being to the creature out of the movie The Mothman Prophecies, and later the Chupucabras. What he does remember is that the creature was jet black in colour with large red eyes that were staring directly at them. The figure was positioned like it was walking along the top of the fence and had turned to look at them. It was much larger than a cat, and reminded him more of a man crouching down.   Both the boys reeled back with fright so hard that they pushed open the back door directly behind them. They got back up off the kitchen floor and ran through into the living room. There they hysterically told J. Sturch’s parents what they had seen. While Phillip was laughing with shock, he was crying with the fear of what they had just witnessed. His dad got hold of an old pickaxe handle from the closet and ran outside to see whether the creature was still there. He searched all the bushes at the base of the garden but whatever it was had now gone.   His dad came back into the house and asked the boys to come round next door to tell Phillip’s father what they had seen. They did so, and then searched the back garden of Phillip’s house too. After finding nothing, the two fathers then went round several other houses to try and find what the boys had seen, but nobody else had seen anything.   Many years later Mr Sturch bumped into an old acquaintance from an old place of work. He was interested in the paranormal so Mr Sturch decided to tell him about what he had seen. He expected him to laugh it off and say it must have just been a cat or dog. But instead he informed Mr Sturch that his mother had seen something very similar in appearance! He said that one day she was washing the dishes and looked out of the kitchen window at the lawn outside. There on the grass was a large black creature with big red eyes staring right back at her! She was scared and ran out of the kitchen. When she returned the creature had gone. Mr Sturch was happy to hear that someone else had seen what sounded like the same thing. To this day he still wonders about what he saw that evening Encounter Analysis What could the strange creature have been? While it seems unlikely that it was a cat or dog due to the shape, size and red eyes, perhaps it was a big cat such as a black panther which had escaped from somewhere. These are agile and so would be able to walk along the top of a fence, much like domestic cats are often seen to do. Mr Sturch does not put this possibility out of the realms of possibility.   However he does say that it appeared much more humanoid in shape. Bonfire night is only five days after Halloween. If the creature was seen at ground level the possibility that it was someone in a Halloween costume would have been suggested, however it is unlikely that someone wearing a suit would be able to balance on the top of the garden fence.   Maybe the creature really was something out of the ordinary. There are not many ET sighting reports which match, however I have both heard of and directly investigated cases where beings in skin tight black suits have been seen (Click here to go to one such report). Also the description of the creature’s eyes immediately remind me of the Varginha incident in Brazil, where a number of brown coloured Grey-like beings were seen by villagers after a UFO crash and then promptly captured live by the military. These beings apparently had large oval shaped red eyes. There are many reported sightings of ghostly black dogs with red eyes, could this have been the explanation? Whatever it was, it certainly appears to have been unusual, and the fact that it was seen by two witnesses means that it was definitely present and not just their imagination. The story he was told later could well have been another sighting of the same type of being.   Unfortunately Phillip later died in an accident, so we only have Mr Sturch’s testimony to go on. Robbie was in his flat in Rubery. He lives on the first floor so has a good view from the living room window out over Worcestershire to the South. He was sitting on the sofa and staring out of the window.   Aerial map of Rubery Just before 10pm he suddenly noticed an orange glow in the sky. He could see a glowing object hovering above a nearby field to the South West of his location. It appeared to be a sphere, glowing an orange/blue-white colour. It appeared to be at quite low altitude. Robbie quickly ran and grabbed his video camera and began filming the object using its night vision setting.   The object passed over a hedge and descended down into a field. It moved across the field and then started to ascend again, passing over the high street. It then went behind some trees and was lost from sight for several seconds. It then reappeared rising above the trees, before moving towards his location.   It approached and passed over the roof of his flat out of sight, moving in a North Easterly direction. The movement was smooth and swift. In total he had watched the object for several minutes.   Sighting Analysis   Unfortunately the witness failed to send me the video footage to examine. However the appearance of the object and its manoeuvring capabilities both point towards this sighting potentially being of a sky lantern. These tend to have an orange amber glow, although sometimes their brightness means the colour is not always clear, especially at distance. Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Year: 2011 Last Updated 28/11/2024   On 21st January 2011 BUFOG was contacted by an anonymous individual who reported that he and a number of other witnesses had observed a lit triangular shaped UFO while waiting in traffic caused by a recent car crash. This report covers the incident and follow up investigation. The witness did not get back in touch so we only have the initial details provided by them.   Incident Details   At 11.55pm on Thursday 20th January 2011 the key witness was driving South along Albert Road in Quinton, Birmingham, travelling back home from his mother’s house with three passengers in the car. As they approached the crossroads between Albert Road and Castle Road West they found that an accident had recently occurred ahead of them and the road was blocked off.   They turned the car around, drove back up North, then headed South East along Wolverhampton Road before turning onto and heading West along Castle Road West.   Unfortunately when they reached the crossroads they found that they were once again blocked as the crash had occurred on the crossroads itself. While waiting in the traffic the key witness grabbed his mobile phone and took a short video.   Soon after stopping the recording he and the three passengers in the car observed a large triangular shaped craft travelling in a South East East direction towards Weoley Castle. It had a white light at each corner, and a pulsing red light at the centre of the base.   A short time after the police arrived at the scene of the crash, the craft greatly increased in speed and departed from the area in an instant!   Video Analysis   The key witness provided a short phone recorded video of the car crash from their position in the traffic. The witness believes that this video may have captured the UFO prior to it being spotted by him and the others in the car.   Below is a link the video footage the witness provided:   https://youtube.com/shorts/_5BKCiB5vlo At both 2 and 7 seconds into the video a small orb of light can be made out in the sky at the upper right corner. Below are stills of these two moments, with the orb ringed: However I believe that in both cases the “orb” can be explained as lens flare. The orb at 2 seconds is likely to be a lens flare from a nearby car headlight on the right which can briefly be viewed through the driver side window. It appears only when this light is most visible in the footage when not being shielded by the frame of the windscreen:   The orb at 7 seconds appears at the same moment that one of the blue police lights ahead starts to flash, and then gets brighter and dimmer several times at the same speed as the change in brightness of this light:   Therefore I do not believe the video footage shows the object the key witness described seeing.   Police Contact   I decided to get in touch with West Midlands Police via the net to see if anyone present at the crash reported seeing the same object as the key witness. Below is my message to them which I sent at 6.41pm on 21st January 2011:   Good evening, Not sure what my rights are regarding information from the police but I think this is the right address to send this to - if not please forward. I am the Chairman of the Birmingham UFO Group (BUFOG). We investigate UFO reports from around the Birmingham area as well as further afield. At around 11.55pm on Thursday 20th January I was sent some information via our group's website from an anonymous individual. They informed me that at around 7.30pm there was a bad car accident at the cross over of Castle Rd West and Albert Rd, Quinton, Birmingham. They were nearby and moments later they (and 3 other witnesses) saw a large black triangular shaped craft with white lights and a pulsing red light underneath moving in the direction of Weoley Castle. As the police reached the scene of the crash, the craft apparently accelerated at massive speed and flew away from the area. I am wondering if the police had any calls reporting this object, or if the drivers involved in the crash also saw it (Was this the reason behind the crash in the first place?) I know you probably can't give me contact details of anyone, but has anyone reported this object to you or did any of the police who turned up at the scene of the crash see it? If so please can you send whatever details you are allowed to share? Thank you Sandwell Local Policing Unit   Incident Conclusions   The object described by the key witness certainly sounds like a “Flying Triangle”, one of the more commonly reported types of craft. I have investigated other cases of objects with identical shape and lighting configurations before, and this lighting does not fit with any known civilian or military aircraft. The majority of aircraft have white, red and green static lights and a white strobing light, as shown by the below diagram:   Unfortunately at this time of my investigative life I did not have access to Flight Radar 24, which could have confirmed whether there were any aircraft with transponders in the vicinity at the time. However the speed at which the object apparently left the area is another fascinating aspect which makes it highly unlikely to have been a normal aircraft.   This incident occurred before drones were commercially available so I do not believe a drone could have been responsible. The fact that the object had numerous lights on which remained in formation with one another even when it shot away suggests it was not a number of LED balloons drifting on an air current.   It is a shame that the video footage the key witness took did not show the object, as footage of it moving across the sky and then suddenly greatly accelerating away would have been fascinating to watch. Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 19/11/2024   On the morning of 16th November 2024 I was contacted by a man named Shaun who had been working on a house in Castle Vale, Birmingham. He had just witnessed two black coloured UFOs for a number of minutes. This report goes over the sighting in depth.   Sighting Details   At around 11.28am Shaun was working the rear of a property on a side road of garages off Renfrew Square. It was a dry and mild but cloudy morning, with a strong breeze blowing. A large flock of seagulls situated in the sky visible over a cream-coloured block of flats to the East of his location caught his eye and he looked up at them. He then realised there was a larger object in the centre of the flock.   Initially he thought it was a very large seagull or other bird, but shortly realised it was much too sizeable for this. He also realised there were in fact two objects, identically sized. The objects were positioned one behind the other and heading Eastward away from him in the sky visible above the roof of a nearby block of flats on Turnhouse Road.   They appeared to be curved arrowhead shaped and jet black in colour, with no visible markings. Shaun stated that they looked “rubber-like in appearance and shiny like a diver’s wetsuit.”  They looked to be quite large, Shaun estimates about the size of a single decker bus (approximately 40 feet). They seemed to be a bit higher up than a patrol helicopter would fly at, maybe around 600 feet up.   The objects were not flat but instead had depth to them. They were travelling on a level and straight course at a slow speed, seemingly around 20 mph. As he watched them he realised they were rotating slowly anti-clockwise. But before they rolled right over they started to tip back the other way. This side to side rotation continued, almost as if the objects were trying to right themselves. He walked to the end of the side road to get a better look.   A minute later a lady came out of a house several doors away. He called over to her “Can you see that?”  pointing out the objects. She replied “Yes! What is it? Oh, there’s two of them!”  A moment later she was joined by her son. She pointed the UFOs out to him but he didn’t seem that interested and got into his car. The lady continued to watch for about 30 seconds before also leaving.   After a short while Shaun lost his view of the objects behind the roof of the block of flats due to the angle. He walked along Renfrew Square to the T-junction with Turnhouse Road to see the sky from a different angle and continue watching them.   The objects were not rotating continuously. They would rotate a while, then level out, then start rotating again. This pattern continued for the duration of the sighting, which lasted about 4-5 minutes. Despite having a camera phone on him he sadly was too transfixed by the objects to get it out and start filming them. He informed me it is an older model Motorola and the camera is not particularly good on it, so they may not have been captured very well even if he had tried.   Sighting Analysis   The objects seen in this incident were obviously quite an unusual shape, and were clearly not normal aircraft or drones of any kind. In addition to the odd appearance, I also confirmed on Flight Radar 24 that there were no aircraft with transponders in the vicinity at the time of the sighting: Hand gliders are less curved than the shape drawn by the key witness, and also would not tip from side to side in the manner that was described. These aspects also put hot air balloons out of the question.   However I do wonder if the objects were some two large and black coloured novelty balloons drifting on air currents. The wind at the time of the sighting was facing Eastward, which is the direction the objects were travelling, as confirmed by the below weather screenshot:   Shaun said that the objects looked much too big to be balloons, but did not put this explanation out of the question, as it was hard to tell exactly how far away the objects were, so therefore hard to accurately judge their size.   I have found the two below black balloons online which are a little reminiscent of the shape described and drawn by the witness, though not identical:   However both of these balloon examples are normal sized novelty balloons, it seems extremely unlikely that these particular balloons could be mistaken for something the size of a bus. That said, novelty balloons of some kind does seem to be the most likely explanation at this point in time, although a more unusual explanation cannot be entirely ruled out.   Due to their slow speed it is entirely possible that there were other witnesses who are yet to come forward.
