Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Originally forwarded by Richard Hall Release Date: 16/08/2011 Last Updated: 12/11/2024   Sighting Details   It was 10.25pm on the evening of 9th August 2011. James Goodwin and his girlfriend were walking home from a local shop. It was a clear and pleasant evening and the stars were visible. He looked up into the sky and noticed a number of white lights moving towards their location. There were three bright white lights in a row, with a smaller white round light either side of the middle one. As it was dark it was not possible to see the main body of the object but it appeared to be dark and triangular in shape, with one of the white lights at each corner. The object was moving slowly, no faster than 50mph, which seemed almost too slow to keep it in the air. As it approached they noticed a low humming noise being emitted from it. James got out his mobile phone and tried to take a photograph, but street lights and nearby bushes obscured his view and made this impossible.   They watched the object for 30-40 seconds as it passed over and moved away from them out of sight.  During this time several cars drove past bit did not seem to have noticed the object. The witnesses were excited and amazed at what they had seen.   Sighting Analysis   This sighting shows lots of the classic signs of a Flying Triangle craft, and I feel it was most likely one of these which was seen. The object was dark in colour, probably black, triangular in shape, with a white light at each corner. This description is regularly given for craft of this type. Also the humming sound that the UFO was making is often also reported, and is another reason why I feel this was a genuine sighting.   The object was moving too slowly to have been a conventional aircraft, and it is unlikely that the witnesses would have mistaken a normal aeroplane for something out of the ordinary. Also planes have strobing navigation lights on them and usually display other coloured lights such as red and green. It is unlikely that it was an inflatable with lights attached as this would have been silent and would probably have rotated or changed course as it drifted across the sky. The object was flying on a straight and level course and did not alter its angle at all, so certainly appeared to be under direct control. It is unlikely it was a secret military craft as there would be no reason for them to fly this over a populated area where it could be witnessed.   Copyright Dave Hodrien 2024

He feels that this experience may be linked with ET contact.   Shaun has always been very guarded about sharing his story but after watching my interview on Richard Hall’s Starship chat show he realised that others had experienced similar things so contacted me.   Incident Details   It was the summer of 1975 and Shaun had recently moved to Cwmbran with his parents. One night he was awoken from his sleep by a tingling vibration, a low humming sound and a white glowing light coming from outside his bedroom window. This light grew brighter until it blinded him and he had to close his eyes. A moment later the light seemed to vanish and darkness returned to the room.   When he re-opened his eyes he could see a soft glowing shape a bit taller than his own height standing at the foot of the bed. He could not understand what it was but it felt to him like it was made out of energy which was alive.   At this point Shaun became terrified and pulled his bed covers up over himself to hide away. A moment later he felt a weight pressing down on his lower legs. At this point he was extremely shocked and lay there very still. This was the last thing that he remembers taking place. The next thing he knew he was waking up in the morning.   Incident Analysis   There are signs here that Shaun may have experienced a visitation and was possibly also abducted. Contact experiences often start with a glowing light being seen outside the window, this may well have been from a craft in the vicinity. Also the vibrations he was feeling have been spoken of on many occasions, and are another common sign.   Many abductions are preceded by the appearance of one or more beings near to the experiencer, and this may be what Shaun saw at the base of his bed. Glowing entities like the one he describes have been seen before, and are sometimes referred to as “light beings”. If it was a visitation by an ET, it may not necessarily have actually looked like this, it could have just been manifesting in that way. The fact that after feeling the weight on his legs he appeared to fall off to sleep despite being completely terrified is another commonly reported aspect, the ETs appear to possess this ability. It is probably done to stop the experiencer from struggling against what is taking place.   The fact that Shaun pulled the bed covers over his head shows that he was not paralyzed at the time, so was not undergoing sleep paralysis. However there is another condition known as hypnogogia where things such as those Shaun mentioned can be experienced, at present this cannot be fully ruled out.   Shaun has no other memories of what went on. There is the possibility that he was taken but was unconscious throughout, or that the memories of the experience have been wiped from his mind, as is often the case. Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Originally forwarded by Richard Hall Release Date: 17/08/2011 Last Updated: 11/11/2024   Sighting Details   Steve and Ally are the managers of the youth-orientated Evolution Centre on Highfield Road, Cockermouth, Cumbria. The centre includes a gym and various gaming and sporting equipment. On the evening of 26th April 2011 Steve and Ally had a sighting of an unexplained object in the sky.   It was between 9.30-10.00 pm and they had just left the centre to put some gear in the car. They were walking across to the car looking up at the sky. It was a still and clear night with the stars visible above them.   In the distance they noticed a moving light in the sky. It was glowing a bright white. The light appeared to be very large in size and at high altitude, perhaps 15000-20000 feet. It was travelling on a straight and level course towards their location. It appeared to be completely silent.   They watched as the light passed over the centre and headed off in the direction of Lorton Valley. After about a minute of watching it they suddenly thought about trying to get a photograph of it. Ally grabbed their camera out of the car, raised it and took a photograph. A moment later the object flashed brightly then vanished.   When she checked the photograph she found that the UFO had been captured on it, but appeared much less bright than it did to their naked eye. Below is the photo, with the orb ringed in red:   The witnesses were baffled by what they had seen, and wondered if anyone else in the area had also seen it. They knew it had not been their imagination as they had both clearly seen it.   Sighting Analysis   Sightings of glowing lights after dark are quite common, and can usually be put down to one of a number of mundane explanations. The object that Steve and Ally saw was unlikely to have been a normal aircraft or helicopter, as no other navigation lights were seen and it was completely silent. It was the wrong colour for a Chinese lantern, as these are usually amber or yellow in colour and tend to flicker. It was moving much too slow to be a meteorite, and is unlikely to have been atmospheric phenomena such as ball lightning as the weather was clear.   However I do wonder if the object was a white coloured LED balloon. These are electronically lit inflatables that come in a variety of sizes shapes and colours. Perhaps it was one of these caught in an air current. The witnesses believe the object was at quite high altitude and large in size. However after dark it is hard to judge the distance and therefore size and speed of objects in the sky accurately. Perhaps it was smaller and closer than it appeared to be.   As the object did not perform any intelligent manoeuvres the possibility of it being an LED balloon cannot be ruled out. However there is also the possibility that it was something much more unusual, perhaps an advanced craft of some kind. Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Year: 2011 Last Updated: 09/11/2024 General Information Two videos of white orbs received by one of the witnesses, and apparently shot over Bushey in Hertfordshire on two consecutive nights. The videos are not original so metadata analysis is not possible. Despite the lack of addition information about the videos some assumptions can be made from the appearance of the object in the footage and the recorded conversation between the witnesses. 30/06/2010 Video Audio transcript: F: That's exactly the same as last night. Babes it's going red in this . .... My god, it's just a ball of light! Oh my god! M: I can hear a plane distant flying. F: That is not a plane. Look it's going all different colours!.... I can't keep still! M: I mean this is exactly the same time as last night, and this is going exactly the same direction as yesterday. F: It's just a ball of light.... I hope my lens is open. Yeah it is. Must be 'cause I can see it now. What the hell is that? M: There's no sound now. F: Oh my days! M: Try and get...try and get that tree in or something if you can. F: I can't, I can't.... it's just gone. It's still there but I can't zoom in any further. M: It's just gone through the trees there. The audio of the video makes it clear that there are two witnesses, a couple. The colour changing of the orb observable in the video is down to a camera artefact which can occur when filming bright lights against a dark background. The trail sometimes seen behind it is another artefact caused by unstable movement of the camera, which the female witness holding the camera remarks on at one point. It appears that the object is either silent, or too distant to hear. In the early part of the video the noise of a jet engine can be heard, and the male witness seems to believe that the object is a plane and the sound is coming from it. However I do not believe this is the case. Later on the object appears to be at roughly the same distance away yet the sound disappears. It is likely that it is from another aircraft in the vicinity off camera or obscured by cloud. Aside from the fact that the object appears to be silent or extremely quiet, another aspect which points away from it being a plane is that no other navigation lights or strobe lights can be made out. Even at a distance it is often still possible to see the regular strobe or sometimes red/green lights. That said, the male witness does state that they had seen something on 29/06 at the same position in the sky and at the same time, and then there is the second video the following night, which could suggest a regular flight of an aircraft. Both the witnesses believe that the object is moving slowly away. Although this is impossible to tell from the footage due to how dark the surroundings are, the fact that it does seem to vanish after a couple of minutes suggests that this is correct. If so this rules out the idea that the object is merely a bright star/planet in the sky. If I knew the precise location, date/time and compass direction that the footage had been taken in then I could confirm this utilising night sky software but unfortunately this information is unavailable. 01/07/2010 Video Audio Transcript: M: Try and get the corner of the house in. Again not much can be determined from the footage. The audio confirms that the male witness is again concerned with the lack of a point of reference, but sadly it is too dark to see anything besides the object itself. After 10 seconds it is clear that the video has been slowed down in an attempt to get a clearer view, but due to the amount of camera movement and lighting conditions this is not possible. Conclusions In more recent years drones are sometimes responsible for white points of light seen moving in the sky after dark. However these videos were from 2010, several years before drones were available commercially. There are a number of other possible mundane explanations which cannot be entirely ruled out, including very distant aircraft (too far to see the separate navigation lights), white coloured LED balloons, stars/planets (if stationary), satellites or the International Space Station. Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 04/09/2011 Last Updated: 06/11/2024   Note: For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used   Introduction   I first met “Emily” at Into The Unknown 4 UFO conference on Saturday 20th August 2011. I was one of the speakers at the conference and gave a talk on the subject of ET contact. Towards the end of the day Emily approached me and let me know of some of her experiences. I kept in touch and she provided full details via E-Mail soon afterwards. This report covers her various experiences, which have taken place since an early age.   Early Feelings   When she was young, Emily remembers always being afraid of the dark, and found it hard to go to sleep. There was always a sense of something “not quite right” in her house. She used to feel that the house was haunted. She also remembers having vivid recurring nightmares on many occasions. From the age of 4 she remembers having the feeling that she was different in some way.   While these things could be just put down to normal childhood fears and imaginations, they could also be interpreted as early signs that she was experiencing ET contact. Contactees often get a fear of the dark and of going to bed as they are subconsciously aware that this is when the ETs come for them. The feeling of a presence or of being observed is also extremely common, and probably occurs because the contactee is aware they are under ongoing observation by the beings in contact with them. Often contact experiences are wiped from the conscious mind of the individual, but memories come back in the form of nightmares or flashbacks. Could Emily’s recurring dreams have been related to this?   Nosebleeds   She would often suffer from heavy nosebleeds which would suddenly start and carry on for about an hour. These lasted until she was 13 years old. In the end her mother took her to the doctors to have the skin in her nose cauterised.   These incidents could have just been down to medical reasons, especially as they seemed to occur much less often after her visit to the doctors. However it should be noted that nosebleeds are another common side effect of contact experiences. Emily still gets them occasionally and also suffers from sinus problems.   Visitations   From about the age of 7 Emily remembers numerous occasions where she saw beings at the window of her room. She would be lying down on the bed still awake. The curtains would be closed like normal. Then suddenly the curtains and window would open without warning. Outside the window staring in at her would be several figures. These figures would always be in shadow and just silhouettes, she did not see their faces clearly. She does not remember ever seeing a craft or being taken from her room.   There were also occasions where a single figure would appear in her room alongside her bed. It would reach down and touch her on the arm. She also has a memory of a small red light on her arm. As far as she remembers this did not happen as often as the figures outside the window, but still happened more than once.   Around this same time she also remembers having several dreams of a different planet which had two moons that were visible even in daylight.   There is a good possibility that these experiences were numerous ET visitations, perhaps preceding abduction experiences which have been blocked out. The ETs often appear in the manner Emily speaks of, either staring in through the window or actually entering the room and standing alongside the bed. This has been reported on many occasions. It is interesting that the curtains and window opened by themselves. If these were visitation experiences then this suggests the ETs manipulated these objects using telekinesis.   Many contactees have spoken of the ETs touching them on the arm or head. This usually causes the individual to black out, and although Emily does not remember this taking place, this may well have occurred. The small red light she remembers seeing on her arm suggests that on one or more occasions the ET alongside her bed used an instrument of some kind on her.   The visions or dreams of the other planet may have been unrelated. However contactees are sometimes shown visions of other worlds, and it is possible that this was the ETs showing Emily their home world or another place for whatever reason. It is unlikely that she was actually taken there and saw this first hand.   If Emily agrees to a regression, we may discover more about what took place during these incidents.   The Arm   One night Emily had to get up to use the bathroom. The bathroom used to be at the end of a long corridor, which she used to hate walking along at night. Her parents were still up but were in the lounge with the door closed. Her sister was asleep in her own room. Near to the lounge door there was a cubbyhole that her parents used to store things in.   She quickly made her way along the corridor into the bathroom. She left the bathroom door open. While she was washing her hands she looked up and had a view along the corridor through the open doorway. Suddenly she saw what looked like a brown leathery arm suddenly jut out from the cubby hole. It then went back in out of sight.   Emily was in shock at what she had just seen and it did not immediately sink in. She quickly made her way back to her room and went off to sleep. However she still remembers the incident clearly as it frightened her quite a bit.   Could this have been the arm of an ET? While contactees have described seeing Greys creeping around their home on numerous occasions and peering out from behind things, it does seem unlikely that one would be in the cubby hole and put its arm out before withdrawing it. Perhaps this was not an ET at all but a ghostly apparition of some kind. Or could it have just been shadows in the dark, perhaps cast by an object suddenly falling, combined with her nerves at the time?   Collision With An Entity   On another night she was sharing a bedroom with her sister. Once again she got up to use the bathroom. It was very dark and she did not put the lights on. When she re-entered the bedroom she bumped into someone in the dark. She thought it was her sister who had got up out of bed. She exclaimed “You really scared me!” A moment later her sister replied “Pardon?” She was in her own bed! Emily was shocked and realised that there had been someone else in the room, someone who had now vanished.   As it was dark it is possible that there was an ET standing in the room which Emily bumped into on her return. But as with the arm incident, there is also the possibility that it was something else manifesting itself. Whatever it was, it had appeared solid, and had then inexplicably gone.   Unexplained Bruises   Ever since her childhood right to present day Emily sometimes finds unusual bruises on her legs when she wakes up in the morning. She rarely has any idea where they have come from. Could these be markings from repeated contact experiences? As the bruises do not look artificial in nature they may just be natural. Perhaps she bruises easily and bumps her legs against the bed or surroundings during her sleep. However the idea that they are related to contact cannot be put out of the question.   I have asked Emily to take a photograph of any bruises or other markings she finds going forward. If she sends any photos to me they will be added to this part of the report.   Other Signs   Ever since her childhood Emily has suffered from sudden tiredness. She has no idea why she should get this. It does not appear to be related to particular experiences, but as tiredness is another side effect of contact experiences it cannot be completely ignored.   In her younger years she also had a phobia of lifts. She is able to cope with them better now, but still feels uncomfortable in them and will usually take the stairs if possible. Contactees often report having this particular fear. It is likely that the feeling of ascending upwards reminds them of when they have been lifted up into a craft. The fact that Emily has this particular fear is another sign that she is a contactee.   Premonitions   In her teens Emily remembers having numerous dreams which seemed to come true soon afterwards. These were not always of significant events, sometimes they were just of random things taking place. One night she had a dream that a particular pupil at her school had their hair cut in a certain style. The following day when she saw this individual, they had just had their hair cut in the style she dreamed of.   When she was 18 she dreamed that there was a man who looked like Arthur Lowe standing next to the flats opposite her house. The following day she found out that Arthur Lowe had died.   While these dreams could be put down just to coincidences, many contactees report having psychic abilities, the most common of which is premonitions of future events. Did Emily develop this ability as a side effect of contact, or was this the reason why the ETs were interested in her to begin with?   Missing Time Incident   Around 1996 both Emily and her mother had a missing time experience which they have never been able to adequately explain. She was staying at her mother’s house. Her mother was sleeping in a room alongside her own, and they were chatting with each other through the wall. They started chatting about 9pm.   After a short while Emily checked the time again and it was now 11.30pm. Neither she or her mother could work out how that amount of time had gone by, they were certain they had not just lost track of time and spoken for two and a half hours. If Emily gets regressed we may explore this incident further and find out if anything unusual took place.   Paranormal Activity   In her twenties, Emily had moved into another house. Once again she felt that this house was haunted, and experienced paranormal activity on various occasions. She would often get the feeling that there was someone standing behind her watching her. Objects would sometimes move on their own - cups would fall, bags would crumple of their own accord. One night there was a loud crash from the kitchen followed by the sound of someone walking up the stairs. But when she checked there was no-one there.   This activity may have well been down to a ghost at the property, however I have mentioned it as contactees often experience paranormal activity in their proximity.   Nightmares   Around the same time as the paranormal activity in her home, Emily had numerous vivid nightmares in which she was pulled from her bed and out of the window. These could well have been brought on by memories of abduction experiences which were perhaps happening there, or had happened earlier in her life.   Ongoing Contact?   In more recent years Byrony has not experienced many strange incidents, so it is possible that contact has ceased (for now at least). However she still occasionally hears a sudden loud buzzing sound in her head. This tends to occur when she is lying in bed and just about to drop off to sleep. She suffers from mild tinnitus, but says that this is completely different. Sometimes this is followed by the feeling of something causing her to pass out. Occasionally the buzzing is followed by a feeling of moving very fast along a tunnel. Sometimes she has woke back up at this point and seen strange floating lights in her room which then fade away.   Often she also senses the vibrations of someone walking across the bedroom beside her bed. She also sometimes feels that there is someone walking across her bed or lying down alongside her. These feelings are very un-nerving.   On occasion Emily has looked out into the garden and seen what she felt were figures standing there.   Grey Dream   In 2010 Emily dreamt that a Grey appeared in her bedroom and came and stood alongside the bed. She asked the being “You’ve come to take me haven’t you?” to which it responded “Yes”. However Emily believes that this dream was down to the fact that she had looked into contact by then. She does not currently feel that it actually took place. But it does have similarities with some of her earlier experiences. Maybe after reading about ET contact this jogged her memory and she saw the being alongside her bed for what it really was.   Conclusion   Emily has had some very interesting experiences over the years. Although she has not reported seeing any UFOs, her earlier memories of visitations by beings, and the fact that she has experienced so many of the common signs of contact, lead me to believe that she may well be a contactee. I hope that she decides to go for a hypnotic regression later in the year as this may uncover lost memories and prove that she has experienced contact. Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 25/07/2011 Last Updated: 05/11/2024 In 2011 I was contacted by a man named Les Bond who wanted to discuss two sightings he had back in the 1960s. This report covers the second of these sightings. A link to the report on the first can be found near the end of this report. Sighting Details It was around 11.30pm on a late evening in the latter half of July 1968. Les and his wife were outside at Butlins in Bognor Regis on the South coast of England where they were on holiday. It was a clear and calm evening and the stars were visible above them.   They were walking back to their chalet along one of the camp avenues and looking up at the stars. Les was pointing out star constellations. Suddenly they saw what appeared to be two objects rapidly descending off to their right. Les immediately said “Look at that!” They were amazed to see two formations of white lights side by side. Each formation had two lights at the front close together, and two lights at the rear spaced further apart. They gave the impression of large triangular shaped objects, each approximately 40 feet in length and 20 feet wide. However as they descended, Les noticed that the stars were visible between the lights.   Initially the lights were at an altitude of about 10000 feet. Within a couple of seconds they descended rapidly in a curved arc until they were at an altitude of 500 feet. They then continued in a curve back up out of sight, which took a further couple of seconds. It gave the impression that they had been on a giant invisible rope and had swung down and then back up. Les and his wife were both astounded by what they had just seen. Les estimates the objects were moving at at least 300 mph. He noted that the objects had been completely silent and there had been no sonic boom.   There were other people in the area but Les is not aware if anyone else saw the objects. He and his wife stood still a while hoping to see the UFOs again but they did not reappear. In the morning Les bought the local newspaper but there was no report of anyone else seeing the objects.   Sighting Analysis Due to the incredible manoeuvre the objects performed, this sighting was clearly of something out of the ordinary, and also under intelligent control. The fact that the lights swooped down and then back up, and were in two identical formations proves that they were not a meteorite shower. They were moving much too fast and controlled to have been white LED balloons or other inflatable objects, and this sighting occurred decades before drones were a possibility. If the objects were two distant formations of jets, then why would they have swooped down and then back up to high altitude over several seconds? The objects appeared to be silent, and jets would not be allowed to perform such a manoeuvre after dark due to the noise pollution. I cannot think of any mundane explanations which adequately explain what was seen.   The fact that Les saw the stars between the lights may suggest that this was a formation of eight objects, not two large triangular objects. However I have investigated a number of Flying Triangle cases where the main body of the craft has been invisible for part of the sighting, with only the lights visible in the sky. So perhaps this was a similar case. The lighting configuration on the objects was uncommon for Flying Triangle craft, though not unheard of. Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Originally forwarded by Richard Hall Release Date: 25/07/2011 Last Updated: 05/11/2024   This report covers a fascinating UFO sighting witnessed by Les Bond, his brother and a friend back in 1960. Les has also had a later sighting in 1968. The link for this second incident can be found towards the end of this report.   Sighting Details   Les has an interest in astronomy and often like to look at the stars through his telescope. Back in 1960 he owned a 3 inch refracting telescope with high quality lenses, and a 6 foot focal length on the object lens.   In the early hours of Monday 8th August 1960, Les, his older brother and a friend (both now deceased) were standing on the roof of the outhouse of his property on Ascot Way, Accrington, Lancashire. This location was perfect for looking up at the stars. It was a very clear still night. They were up there a short while when suddenly a policeman approached below them and asked what they were doing. Someone had clearly seen them up on the roof and assumed they were up to no good. They soon explained themselves, then began star gazing once more.   Suddenly Les noticed through the telescope a glowing white object rapidly moving in from the West. It was blurred, almost like it was surrounded in a white mist or fog. He could not seem to focus directly on the object. He estimates it was over 40000 feet in altitude.   As the object was roughly overhead it rapidly decelerated until it was stationary. It then began moving in a figure of 8 pattern for about a minute. After this it stopped and then started pulsating in brightness for another minute. Once this was over, it then rapidly moved off to the East at around 300 mph. Its acceleration was so fast that the direction it had moved in was almost too hard to determine.   About 5-10 miles away from their location, the object suddenly stopped again and once more began the figure of 8 movement followed by the light pulsing, again for the same amount of time. After this it seemed to disappear, but had probably just moved further East out of sight. Throughout the sighting Les gave his brother and friend a look through the telescope so they too could see what was going on.   Sighting Analysis The manoeuvres performed by the object clearly designate that it was under some form of intelligent control. It performed the same pattern numerous times, something which a randomly drifting object would not do. Also the speed of movement and near instant acceleration/ deceleration again mean it cannot have been anything mundane such as a cloud or inflatable drifting at high altitude. I did wonder if the "object" was in fact a searchlight bouncing off the cloud layer being used at a nearby event. This could explain the regular pattern, and perhaps why the object appeared to be blurry rather than having defined edges. However the distance that it moved across the sky seems quite large. Also while the figure of eight manoeuvres could be explained by this, the pulsing in brightness seems very unlikely, there would really be no reason for the searchlight to change in this manner. Perhaps this was a genuine craft and the blurred effect around it was caused by an energy field of some kind. It is unlikely that it was actual mist forming around the object as when it moved this mist would have been left behind and it would have taken time for it to reform. But this mist-like effect was around the object for the entire sighting.   There would be no reason for a conventional aircraft to perform such manoeuvres, nor would it be possible for it to perform the acceleration and deceleration observed. Therefore I feel that it is likely this was a genuine sighting of an advanced craft. Quite why it was performing these manoeuvres is of course a mystery. If it had just moved in this manner and pulsated directly overhead of the witnesses then it would suggest direct interaction. However it did not do this – it moved and then performed the same pattern elsewhere. This tends to suggest that it was doing some kind of regular process, perhaps scanning the area, and just happened to stop overhead of the witnesses. Whatever the reason behind the manoeuvres observed, this was a very impressive multiple witness sighting. This is not the only UFO sighting Les has experienced. Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Forwarded by Richard Hall Release Date: 28/05/2011 Last Updated: 05/11/2024 This report covers a stunning sighting of a very unusual object which was seen making highly unusual manoeuvres in the area of Blackridge in Scotland. There are numerous aspects to the case which are very interesting indeed. Sighting Details One night in the summer of 1975 or 76, Tom Collins got up to use the bathroom in his upper floor flat on Langside Drive, Bathgate. It was between 3-4am. He decided to take a look out of the bathroom window to see what type of a night it was. The bathroom had a small frosted window which he pushed open. It was a warm, clear and still night with good visibility. The sun had not yet started to come up. Aerial map of Langside Drive: 📷 It was now that he noticed a very strange object in the distance. About 3 miles from his flat to the West was Hillend Loch. The object was situated a little closer to his position than the Eastern end of the loch. It was about 50-100 feet in the air. It was a rounded bell shape, taller than it was wide. On the base of the object appeared to be many multi-coloured. These were in two bands, one rotating in a clockwise direction and one rotating anti-clockwise. It was hard to tell the colour of the object due to the distance and the glow from the lights. It appeared to be about the size of a bus. Witness drawing of the UFO: 📷 At first the object appeared to be stationary. Then suddenly it moved almost instantaneously in a Southerly direction by about 1000 feet. It was now much closer to a TV mast on Dews hill, to the South East of his location. This movement was so fast it almost looked like it had teleported from one location to the other. He continued to watch the unusual object. It continued to make this same manoeuvre. Sometimes it would also move up or down, but would always stop for a time before suddenly shifting. Tom got the impression that it was interacting in some way with the mast. He did not have a car so could not drive out closer to where the UFO was situated. Neither did he have a camera at the time, otherwise he would have tried to capture it on film. At some point he did wake his wife up to also see the UFO but she says she cannot remember this anymore after such a long time. In the end Tom decided to go back to sleep as he had to wake up in the morning. He has no idea of when the UFO finally left the area. This sighting changed his views on the UFO subject forever, and ever since he has believed in them. Sighting Analysis This is a fascinating sighting and one which appears to be of a genuine advanced craft. Its appearance does not fit in with it being a helicopter or other conventional object. The shape is unusual, and I have not investigated many other sightings similar to it. It is unlikely to have been a remote controlled model or electronically lit inflatable. It seems too large to have been a model, and if it was a hoax of some kind surely the owner would want to fly it round the area, possibly at a time when more people would witness it, rather than just move it back and forth next to a TV mast for ages? Also the incredibly fast erratic manoeuvres which the object was seen to perform were of course much too fast for it to have been something mundane. The movements the object was making seem to designate intelligence, and suggest that it was interacting with the TV mast in some way. Perhaps it was draining energy off it, as has been reported before in other sightings. It is unlikely that a secret military flown craft would do this, they would have no real reason to do this. Therefore I feel that it was probably ET in origin. It is a shame that the witness did not own a camera, especially considering how long it was in the area for. The length of the sighting is impressive and makes me wonder if other people also saw the UFO, although considering the time of morning the sighting occurred perhaps Tom was the only witness. Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Originally forwarded by Richard Hall Release Date: 17/08/2011 Last Updated: 05/11/2024   Sighting Details   Late evening around the 25th July 2011, Richard Wilson was out with his girlfriend in Egerton Park, Bexhill, East Sussex. They were sitting on a park bench chatting. It was 10.30pm and a clear night, with the stars visible in the sky overhead.   Suddenly the couple noticed a yellow orb of light at high altitude. It was hard to tell exactly how high or how large the object was. However its movement pattern was very interesting indeed. It seemed to be moving erratically in a curved zig zag pattern, almost like a fly darting around. It was moving quite fast and moved right across the sky within 20 seconds. After this it seemed to ascend out of sight.   The witnesses were very confused at what they had just witnessed. The object had seemingly moved too fast to have been a Chinese lantern, and its erratic flight pattern meant it could not have been a conventional aircraft.   Sighting Analysis   This is an unusual sighting due to the movement pattern. However it cannot be put out of the question that the object was a Chinese lantern being buffeted around in strong air currents. At ground level it was a still night but perhaps at high altitude there was a strong breeze blowing. This could have caused the object to drift at a very fast pace across the sky and perhaps be buffeted back and forth as it went. Lanterns are generally fiery orange in colour, however when they burn brightly they can appear yellow. There is also the possibility that it was not a lantern but was a yellow coloured LED balloon.   That said it did seem to be moving across the sky at a very fast speed. Also there are many UFO cases where objects have been reported making sudden sharp erratic movements just like the witnesses describe. It is not known why the ETs would need to fly their craft in this manner. Perhaps on these occasions they have been scanning the air, or maybe even intentionally putting on a display of their flight capabilities. Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Date: 28/01/2011 Last Updated: 05/11/2024 Note: For reasons of anonymity pseudonyms have been used This report details the varied experiences of a lady from the area of Stourbridge, and to some extent her direct family. Some of these experiences suggest she may well be a contactee. Each of her experiences will be discussed individually in the order in which they have occurred. Premonitions Since an early age Nicola has believed she has a psychic gift, and has experienced premonitions on numerous occasions. In 1970 when she was at primary school, they were told to write a disaster story. As she thought about what to write she found the words flowed right out of her with ease. She wrote a story about a place named Brighton and a pier at this town which collapsed. At the time she had no idea Brighton was a real place, she just felt she had made it all up. A few weeks later parts of Brighton's West Pier collapsed for real, falling into the sea. Fortunately nobody was hurt, but Nicola appeared to have somehow known this incident would take place. She found out about the actual incident from her teacher, who was understandably concerned. She does not remember exactly what he said to her, but just remembers that he asked her a number of questions about the story and where she had got the ideas for it from. Nothing else became from this incident, and Nicola did not write down any other premonitions. In September 2001, Nicola was celebrating her 40th birthday. Many years before she had gone on holiday to New York and decided that for her birthday she would like to return there with her family. On Friday 7th September they were on a train heading for Coney Island. Just before the city skyline came into view she suddenly heard a voice in her head say “Escape New York” numerous times again and again. This was unsettling but she immediately thought back to the movie Escape From New York, and then shrugged it off. On the morning of 9th September at 9am they visited the Twin Towers to get discount tickets for a show. When she was there she noted that the atmosphere seemed strange somehow, it was as if she could sense something was going to take place. They were sitting at the base of the towers when suddenly a thought came to her head. She turned to her husband and daughter and said to them “What if a plane went into there”, and then looked up. She started to feel very on edge and unhappy at this point and wanted to leave New York but could not understand why. Later that day fortunately her husband got called back home to a meeting, so they took the last plane out of JFK airport on the 10th. The following morning when the disaster occurred, she knew at once that the feelings she had experienced were correct and that she had experienced some kind of premonition that it was going to occur. She of course felt extremely grateful that they had left the city. Many contactees experience psychic abilities and there does seem to be some kind of correlation between them and contact. It is possible that Nicola was born with heightened senses and it has nothing to do with her later experiences, but there is also the possibility that she has gained these abilities through ET contact from an early age. Early Morning Wakings In about 1987/88 Nicola began to inexplicably wake up at 3.33am for no discernable reason. When she did she would not feel any different or like anything had just taken place. She would just open her eyes and then realise with a sense of terror what time it was. She would dread to look at the clock as she would know in advance what it would say. She would usually wake her husband to tell him it had happened again, lie there scared for a while and then finally drop back off to sleep. She often thought about what the numbers meant, and understandably got quite spooked by what was taking place. She would try to relate the numbers to something tangible but nothing really made sense or gave a valid explanation. Once it had began it continued almost every night for five years! After this time it then started to happen less often but still occurred sometimes right up until late 2009. After this time her sleep patterns changed and she has not experienced it since. In 2010 Nicola rented the abduction-related movie The Fourth Kind. She was shocked to see that in the movie (which is made up but generally based on contact cases) the lead character kept waking up at 3.33am and seeing a white owl at the window. She has never seen an owl, but the fact it mentioned the exact same time was disturbing. Interestingly looking around online you will find that other people too have woken up around this time on many occasions. Some believe it to be a specific time when the ETs decide to abduct individuals, although I have not seen much evidence of this, contact can occur any time both day and night. Could Nicola’s nightly wake ups have anything to do with ET contact? It is a possibility, synchronicity of numbers is another aspect commonly reported by contactees. However the fact it went on for so long on every single night suggests it was more likely down to night terrors and her body clock doing something strange at this particular time. I certainly do not believe Nicola was abducted every night when this occurred or was even experiencing contact. She never felt different in any way or experienced anything out of the ordinary when she awoke, if she really was experiencing contact at these times there would almost certainly have been other signs of this. It should be noted that Nicola has also experienced sleep paralysis many times throughout her life. However these incidents do not appear to be related to her contact experiences. When she is paralyzed she often sees an old hag like woman, and finds that she is unable to move or shout out. Ghost or Grey? In 1994 the family bought a house in the area of Stourbridge. Soon after moving in, they began to see apparitions of a small figure. One morning at 4am Nicola was getting ready to go on holiday. She was drying her hair with a hairdryer. Her husband was downstairs making a cup of tea. Suddenly she saw a small figure quickly duck under the wire and go into her son’s bedroom. She at first thought it was her husband mucking about, but then realised he was still downstairs. She looked in her son’s room and he was fast asleep. She was really spooked by what she had seen. On another occasion, her daughter was playing a console in her son’s bedroom while she was downstairs cooking dinner. Suddenly her daughter came running downstairs screaming. She said she saw Jeremy, one of her son’s friends, sitting beside her and then he vanished. For several years after this incident, her daughter would wake up very frightened about 3am and come on into Nicola’s room to sleep the rest of the night there instead. Once Nicola went into her daughter’s room while she was sleeping and for a brief moment saw a short unclothed figure standing over her, which immediately vanished. After this experience, Nicola asked some of her more spiritual friends what she should do. They suggested she should try and bargain with the entity. She was told to go to her daughter’s bedroom and pretend to grab hold of the spirit’s hand, then lead it out into the garden and tell it that it could stay as long as it stopped disturbing her daughter at night. She felt silly doing this, but decided to see if this would work. Amazingly, after doing this her daughter actually slept soundly for a whole week, something she had not done in years. The small being was seen by Nicola and her husband on other occasions. Nicola would sometimes see it sitting unclothed at the top of the stairs out of the corner of her eye. Her husband said that he saw the figure leaning against the bedroom door and staring at him. After looking into UFOs and ETs in 2010, Nicola now wonders if the being was not a ghost but was actually a Grey. This is a possibility, but the amount of times it was seen, combined with the fact that the whole family saw it not just Nicola, suggests that it is more likely to have been a haunting. What took place is interesting, but there is not much evidence to suggest that it was linked with ET contact. Humanoid Being Visitation It was 10pm on 3rd August 2010. Nicola was staying down in the families second home, which is situated in a village on the Jurassic coast of Devon. That day a friend had come round to visit, and they were stopping over. The house has a central room which overlooks the back garden and a wonderful view of the sea. As she passed through this central room to say goodnight to her friend, she decided to take a look out of the window. As it was summer time there was still light in the sky but the sun was beginning to set. The sky was quite clear, it was a typical warm summer’s evening. Looking down the garden, she immediately caught sight of a strange being heading up the garden towards her. The figure looked over eight feet tall. It was wearing what looked like a skin tight black one piece suit, and a helmet of some kind. The helmet was spherical in shape and black in colour, with no visible visor for the being to look through. It looked like it was made out of glass/Perspex. The body suit completely covered the being, there was no skin visible anywhere. It was very smooth and reflective. The figure’s body appeared muscular and well built, and its hands were clenched into fists. Nicola could not see how many fingers were on each hand. Witness drawing of the being: 📷 The being looked completely solid and physical. Nicola was immediately convinced it was not human due to its height and build. It was down by one of the hedges at the base of the lawn, but was already walking towards the house at a fast pace in a strong and determined manner. It did not appear to be heading towards her in particular, but as she could not see its face she had no idea if it was looking directly at her or not. As she set eyes on the being, one of Nicola’s pet dogs which was in the next room started to bark, it was clearly agitated. Nicola was immediately terrified by what she was witnessing. She watched as the being made its way up the garden. When it got quite close to the window she turned and began to run back into the bedroom where the dog was situated. At this point she thinks she momentarily blacked out with the fear. Her eyes rolled back into her head and for a few seconds she felt faint. She regained her composure, ran into the bedroom and grabbed the dog, which was now barking and growling. Nicola felt that the figure clearly wanted to get into the house. At the same time she inexplicably felt a presence at the front of the house too even though she could not see what was out there. Nicola remained in the room with the dog until the following morning. She does not remember the being coming into the house so assumes that it did not and went away. She told her friend about what happened, and they believed she had seen the being. Later on she told other friends who also believed her story. Nicola feels that the being she saw was extraterrestrial, and that she had seen it for a specific reason. She regularly meditates, and the previous day had sank into a very deep meditation that lasted for several hours. Usually her meditation would last for no more than 20 minutes so this was quite significant. Nicola studies chakra meditation, and would usually open them up for meditation and then close them back down when she finishes. However this time when she awoke she felt totally drained of energy and did not close down her chakras. She believes that this left her susceptible to experiencing other dimensions not usually visible. She feels that this may have allowed her to see into another dimension within which the being existed, and this is why it became visible to her. Perhaps it was interested by the very fact that she could see it. I feel that this is certainly a possibility considering the fact that the deep meditation occurred only one day before her experience with the being. No matter whether you believe in chakras or not, this explanation should not be dismissed, as many contactees believe that the ETs exist in a different dimension to us, and that meditation can be used to break through into this dimension. I have investigated other cases where people have seen ET beings while meditating. Could the being have been someone in a costume playing a practical joke on Nicola? If so this would be very reminiscent of the 1973 Falkville Alabama tin foil suit being sighting. However this seems unlikely for a number of reasons. Firsly Nicola’s back garden is completely enclosed in tall hedges, there is no way that anyone could have easily gained access to it. The being appeared very sturdy as it walked, if it were someone wearing a suit to appear very tall and muscular their movement would certainly have been more unwieldy. Also there is no reason whatsoever for anyone to perform such a hoax, Nicola has not told many about her previous UFO sighting and has not publicised it. We must also consider Nicola’s other ET related experiences (see later). ET’s wearing skin tight black outfits have often been seen by contactees, this is the common clothing that Greys are seen in. Beings wearing fishbowl shaped helmets have also been reported numerous times e.g.the Travis Walton abduction case, though these are usually clear rather than black. If the being was an ET perhaps the suit and helmet were specially designed to protect it from Earth’s atmosphere. It is unlikely to have been a Grey being as these are slender with thin elongated bodies and are generally short in height, rather than being tall and muscular. Nordics on the other hand are often described as being quite muscular in build and are sometimes tall in height. Reptilians are also often described in a similar way. Could this being have been a Nordic or Reptilian? As the actual being inside the suit was not seen at all this is merely speculation, nothing more. We also have no idea what the being was doing there. Perhaps it wanted to make contact with Nicola, perhaps it was merely walking around outside her house and was un-interested in her specifically. It did not appear to make any effort to get inside the property once she had left the window. It’s identity and motives currently remain a mystery, however Nicola has informed me that it did feel threatening to her. Vision of Greys The following evening after sighting the black suited being, Nicola was still extremely shaken up. She had closed all the curtains so she could not see outside. Her friend was still in the house. At about 10pm her friend was in one of the bedrooms and Nicola was in the central room. She was determined to stay awake and watch TV. She walked on through to her bedroom and sat down on the bed to change her socks. As she looked up she was shocked to see many small Grey-type beings in the room in front of her which had appeared from nowhere without warning. There were five or six of them, but it looked like more as they were so small. They appeared to only be about 3 feet in height. They were not wearing any clothing and their skin was a grey-beige colour. They had squat bodies with long slender arms and legs, and long thin necks. Their heads were unusual, different to the pear-like shape commonly reported. The shape was almost like a wide boomerang. They had large black bulbous almond-shaped eyes. They did not have much of a nose, just two small holes, and a very thin slit for a mouth. They had long hands and fingers. Nicola could not see how many fingers they had but it appeared to be just several on each hand. Witness drawing of one of the Grey beings: 📷 At the time Nicola had no idea what these strange small beings were. She was absolutely terrified of them. The Greys were reaching out towards her like they were trying to grab her, and staring into her face. Nicola was in complete shock and found it hard to breathe. She tried to push the beings away from her but this did not seem to do anything, it was like they were a vision rather than physically being there in the room with her. Nicola has numerous spirit guides who she sees while meditating or just after meditating, and who help her in various ways. These guides speak to her and sometimes share with her information and advice. Two of her guides are collectively named “Zapata”, and they have informed Nicola that they come from another place far away in our universe. They are very tall humanoids with fair unblemished skin and long flowing golden coloured hair. They wear shimmering white flowing clothing that is luminescent. One of them is taller than the other, but they have no discernable gender. Witness drawing of one of the two spirit guides known to her as Zapata: 📷 After about a minute of struggling with the Grey beings, the two guides known as Zapata, suddenly appeared to the left and the right of her standing alongside the bed. She then heard them speak to her saying “You don’t need these near you Nicola”. The voice had no discernable sex to it, it sounded both gentle and powerful. The taller of the guides, who was standing to her right, then appeared to push his hand out towards the Greys, which causes them to fly backwards into the air and then vanish without trace. At this same moment the two guides also vanished, leaving her in the room alone. Just as with the previous night’s encounter, Nicola was once again absolutely terrified. She had no idea what had just happened to her or what the strange creatures she had just witnessed were. It felt to her that her guides had waited to see how she would deal with them, but then intervened and forced them away. She called the dogs into the room and then stayed up the remainder of the night, spending some of the time watching TV and trying to calm down. She was terrified that the beings would return, a fear which she still has to this day. Roughly a week later, the BBC ran a program talking about organisms which had been found on a nearby beach only 5 minutes walk from her house which had survived 138 days in outer space aboard the space shuttle. This got Nicola thinking about aliens and she started to have a look around online to see whether this could explain her experiences. One of the sites she looked at was Richplanet.Net, Richard Hall’s website (A strange coincidence as I officially investigate UFO cases for Richard which are reported via this site). It was here that she learnt about alien abduction and was surprised when she saw pictures of Grey beings which matched the small beings she had seen previously. There was also an immediate sense of relief as she then knew what these beings were and knew that she was far from alone in seeing them. In November 2010 Nicola watched a video on Youtube which showed drawings of Nordic ET beings (Sometimes referred to as Pleiadians as they have stated that they are from the Pleiades star system on numerous occasions). She noted the similarities between these pictures and her two guides known as Zapata. She wonders if her guides are two of these beings. If so this would explain why they were seen at the same time as the Grey beings. Nordics and Greys are often seen working alongside one another aboard craft, so they do appear to have a relationship of some kind with one another. Could Nicola be in contact with Nordic beings, who aided her in fending off the Grey beings for whatever reason? Conclusion Nicola has had some very interesting experiences, some of which appear to be linked with ET contact. Her earlier experiences are unusual and could be related in some way, however she does not currently have any early memories of seeing UFOs or ETs. However her most recent experiences certainly seem to be visitations by ET beings. Could Nicola have initiated this contact through her deep meditation? Or would these experiences have taken place regardless? These are questions I cannot currently answer. At present there is not much evidence to suggest that Nicola is an abductee, however I feel that she may have experienced contact for a particular reason not currently truly known. If she decides to go ahead with a hypnotic regression then we may learn more about what has happened to her and the reasons for this. Nicola has stated an interest in this so this may well go ahead in the near future. I feel that this contact may not be over and she may have further experiences going forward. Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Originally forwarded by Richard Hall Release Date: 07/08/2011 Last Updated: 05/11/2024   Sighting Details   Between 5.45 - 6.00 pm on 2nd March 2011 David Bell was in his home on Bridge Terrace, Bedlington. It was a still but overcast evening with full cloud cover. As he walked through to the kitchen, he noticed a strange object in the sky through the patio doors. The object was to the North East of his location and appeared to be about half a mile away. It was black and gold in colour. The strangest thing about it was the shape. David compared it to the “body of an insect, but with two leg type limbs” . It was hard to tell exactly how large it was.   David called his wife to also come and see the object. It was moving at quite a slow speed, and appeared to be rotating as it went in a tumbling motion. It first moved to the left in a North Westerly direction, then headed back to the right at the same time as moving away from his location. David grabbed his camera and took six photographs of the UFO (At present these have not been sent to me).   He and his wife continued to watch it for between 12-15 minutes until it had gone out of sight. They were both completely baffled by it.   Sighting Analysis   The object seen in this sighting was clearly not conventional and was not an aircraft or helicopter. At present I feel that the most likely explanation for it was a novelty balloon or inflatable of some kind. The fact that the object was moving at a very slow speed and tumbling as it went suggests it was light weight and drifting in air currents, causing it to rotate. The unusual colour and shape of the object also suggest this explanation. It did not perform any manoeuvres which would suggest it was under intelligent control. I cannot say for definite that it was not a strange craft of some kind, but it seems unlikely.   Unfortunately the witness has not got back in touch so at present this is all the information that is known about this particular case.   Copyright Dave Hodrien 2024

Birmingham UFO Group Case Report Author: Dave Hodrien Release Year: 2011 Last Updated: 04/11/2024   Sighting Details   At 2.00am on 14th June 2011, Mark Oliver and his co-driver David Shimmin were out in their HGV delivering produce to a fast food outlet on Fenton Street, Barnsley. It was a dry clear night with a light breeze. The stars were visible in the sky overhead. Due to the time of night there was very little traffic on the road, and no pedestrians. Mark parked the truck facing to the South outside the restaurant. The men then got to work unpacking the truck. While they worked they noticed a police helicopter fly across the sky. Five minutes later, David locked up the restaurant while Mark walked round to the front of the truck to prepare to leave. As he did he noticed a bright white light in the sky, moving in from his right and heading in an Easterly direction.   The light was glaringly bright, which caused the edges to appear fuzzy rather than sharply defined. It appeared to be at most 1000 feet in the air, and less than a mile from his location. It was completely silent. Initially he assumed it was a plane, but quickly realised it looked different. Mark estimates it was moving at less than 100 mph.   David finished locking up and reached the truck, and Mark pointed out the object to him. Both witnesses then watched the light for about a minute until it had disappeared out of sight.   Sighting Analysis   I agree with the witnesses that the object was unlikely to have been an aircraft, due to the lack of normal navigation lights. Nor could it have been a drone, as these were not commercially available until 2013.   However there are a number of other mundane possibilities. The object did not perform any advanced manoeuvres which would indicate it was under intelligent control. If it was indeed at the height that it appeared to be, then it could have been a brightly glowing LED balloon drifting on an air current.   Potentially it only appeared to be in the atmosphere, but instead was much higher up out in orbit. The International Space Station can be ruled out as at 2am on 14/06/2011 it was over the East coast of the USA not the United Kingdom, as shown by the below ISS Tracker screenshot:   However a particularly bright satellite cannot be entirely ruled out. Sometimes it is extremely difficult to judge true distance of an object in the sky, especially during hours of darkness.   No mundane explanation can be confirmed without doubt, so there is still the possibility it was something more unusual.   Copyright Dave Hodrien 2024
