While many of our speakers understandably speak of other-worldly visitors, this month we are bringing things closer to home, with a lecture by renowned cryptozoologist and author Richard Freeman.

The Orang-Pendek is a short, powerfully built, upright walking ape reported for over 200 years from the jungles of Sumatra. It is one one the cryptids thought most likley to exist. Richard has now taken six expeditions to the island in search of the Orang-Pendek and other strange beasts said to live on the island.

Trecking into deep jungles, up extinct volcanoes and unexplored areas he has found the foot-prints, hand prints and hair of the mysterious beast and heard it's weird call. Some of his colleagues have even seen it! Find out what scientsts at Copenhagen University made out of the hair samples and what he think the Orang-pendek actually is.
