Details

Last year we joined forces with our affiliates UPRISING UFO & Paranormal and held an extremely successful sky watch at Cannock Chase. It was a great event with a good turnout from both groups, some well behaved weather, the world's most winnable raffle, and even some actual UFOs spotted (seriously)!

We've decided that it's time we held another joint sky watch, and have decided that we will return to the same location as before due to its great view of the sky, convenient car parking facilities nearby, and of course its previous track record. Just like last time, whether you're part of either group already, or have never attended a sky watch before, you are more than welcome!

We'll be meeting up at Aspen Car Park, Brockton, Cannock, WS12 4PT at 8.00 pm. The location for the sky watch is just a short walk along the flat South Eastern gravel path which leads off from the car park. It's a nice open and flat field which is perfect for relaxing and viewing the sky. Hopefully we'll get some nice clear weather for it.

The sky watch location is very close to the borders of two military cemeteries. While these are locked during the night-time, it is still possible to walk around their borders, and there's reportedly been some ghost encounters in the area too, so if you've got an interest in the paranormal as well as UFOs you'll be well catered for!

Like last time both BUFOG and UPRISING will bring along soms free snacks for everyone. You are more than welcome to bring other snacks and drinks either for yourselves or to share around. Unfortunately due to the dry location, bonfires and BBQs are not permitted. We will once again be running a fun raffle with some relevant prizes up for grabs, so be sure to bring some loose change for that!

It's recommended that you wear warm clothing (and possibly waterproofs depending on how the weather behaves on the day). A torch is also highly recommended, as is sky watching equipment such as cameras, binoculars or night vision scopes. It's up to you if you bring camping chairs or picnic blankets to sit on, but there's no other seating in the vicinity.

Children are most welcome, as are dogs (providing they are fine with large groups of people). Depending on the weather we will likely stay at the location till the early hours of the morning, so there will be plenty of time for socialising, and who knows, maybe some more sightings!
